Dd-91. WHO WERE THE GALILEANS? DOWNLOAD to SAVE as a PDF Doc to read OFFLINE. Dd-91. WHO WERE THE GALILEANS? Who were the Galileans in the Bible and WHY does it matter? Were the Galileans Jews? Were the Galileans Hebrew Israelites? Were the 11 Apostles of Jesus Galileans? Was Jesus a Galilean? Can a Jew be a Galilean? Was Jesus a Jew? These are some of the questions that will be answered in this study in God’s word. For you see, some Christians argue that Jesus is NOT a JEW. But what does the Bible ITSELF teach us? Let us begin by reading Acts 1:11 where two men or two angels addressed the disciples of Jesus with the greeting, “You men of Galilee” as they watched Jesus ascend into heaven out of their sight.
Acts 1:11.
“Which also said, You men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.” Then later, on the day of Pentecost, many Jews who were assembled at Jerusalem for the feast of weeks asked the question concerning the 120 disciples of Jesus who were all filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking in other tongues saying, “Are not all these which speak Galileans?” Acts 2:7. “And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, Behold, are not ALL these which speak Galileans?” Songs and books have been written about Jesus being the man from Galilee. But what does being a man from Galilee mean? Does it mean that Jesus was Galilean? And if so what does being a Galilean mean? Does it mean that all Galileans are Hebrew Israelites? Does it mean that ONLY Galileans are Hebrew Israelites? Does this mean that all Galileans cannot possibly be Jews? Can a Hebrew Israelite be a Jew? Can a Jew be a Hebrew Israelite? Is there a difference between being the men of Judah from being the men of Israel? Are the men of Judah Hebrew Israelites? Are all the people who live in the land of Judaea all JEWS? Are all Judeans Edomites? What does Acts 2:7 mean by the 120 on the day of Pentecost ALL being Galileans? The purpose of this study in God’s word is to see why some Christians claim that the Jews in the Bible are NOT Hebrew Israelites of the twelve tribes of Israel. And one of the verses they use is Acts 2:7 to try and prove that salvation is for ISRAEL ONLY and that the Jews in the Bible are the children of Satan and thus the Jews cannot be saved. And the verse they use to try and prove that ALL Jews are the children of Satan the Devil is John 8:44. So let us take a moment and read this verse as well being taken OUT of its CONTEXT.
John 8:44. “You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” Now the reason that these Christians who claim that salvation is for the children of Israel ONLY try to prove that ALL Jews are of the seed of Esau is because of the prophecies in Obadiah and Malachi of the Edomites being cut off from God forever. Some of my readers may be wondering who are the Edomites? So, let us take a look at a few verses which teach us who the Edomite people are and the prophecies concerning the Edomites. Genesis 36:9. “And these are the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in mount Seir:” And if you remember Esau sold his birthright to his brother Jacob for a bowl of soup. Genesis 25:33. “And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he swore unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.”
Hebrews 12:16. “Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.”
Esau is also called EDOM.
Genesis 36:1. “Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.” So then, the descendants of Esau which are EDOM and the Edomites are indeed of the seed of Abraham BUT they are not of the seed of PROMISE. For you see, Esau SOLD his birthright to Jacob. And being the seed of Abraham they are the children of Israel. And AFTER the children of Israel were delivered out of bondage in the land of Egypt, God ADDED the Law of Moses. In other words, they were the same RACE of people called the Hebrew people who had the SAME belief in the God of Abraham. They even had the SAME religion or the same Law of Moses as the children of Israel. BUT they are NOT of the seed of PROMISE. Simply put, they were of the same race of people being descendants of Abraham, but God promised that his Messiah would come through the SEED or through the descendants of Jacob. Remember that God renamed Jacob with the name Israel, which means “He shall rule as God”. Now, what does this all mean? Does it mean that God predestined every single descendant of Esau to eternal damnation and no matter what they do, not even one single Edomite can ever be saved? Well, that is what some Christians believe based on some verses in Obadiah and Malachi which we will look at shortly but for now, the issue at hand is WHO are the JEWS according to the Bible itself and NOT according to the salvation for Israel ONLY Christians. You see, the Israel ONLY Christians claim that ALL the Jews are EDOMITES of the seed of Esau and therefore NOT ONE single Jew can be saved. They insist that that land of Judah was conquered by the Edomites who drove out every last one of the men of Judah who were the descendants of the tribe of Judah and the land became known as Judea and the Edomites became known as Judeans transliterated today as being the JEWS. And, therefore, to THEM, anyone living in Judea in the days of Jesus who are called Jews are ALL Edomites. They also claim that the religion of Judea called Judaism is NOT the same religion of the children of Israel which they call the Hebrew faith. Now the reason that they claim that the religion of the JEWS is NOT the same religion of the children of Israel is that they NEED it to be a DIFFERENT religion so that they can keep on keeping the Law of Moses to be saved. You see, all salvation of Israel ONLY Christians are the seventh DAY of the week Sabbath-keeping Christians who sincerely believe and teach that Paul is a self-appointed false Apostle who had a vision from Satan and NOT from Jesus and thus to THEM Paul is a FALSE teacher. Some of them have gone as far to call Peter a false teacher as well and they call themselves Jesus words ONLY believers. For the sake of just mere logical thinking let us ASSUME that the salvation of Israel ONLY Christians are correct and ALL the Jews are Edomites and not one single Edomite can be saved because ALL Jews according to THEM are LITERALLY the children of Satan. And by literally being the seed of Satan they mean that all Jews are of the literal biological seed of Satan. They go back to the Garden of Eden and claim that Cain was the literal offspring of Satan who had sex with Eve. Please read the study Dd-92. WHAT is the SERPENT SEED DOCTRINE? So again, for the sake of mere common sense and simple LOGIC let us ASSUME that the serpent seed doctrine is true and Cain was a literal offspring of Satan to be a literal biological child of the Devil. And let us assume that ALL the Jews who, according to the salvation for Israel only believers, are also literal biological offspring of Satan. This would then mean one of two things. It would mean that Isaac who IS of the seed of PROMISE was ALSO a literal offspring of Satan as well in order for his offspring, Esau, to be the offspring of Satan. Or it would mean that Satan supposedly also had sex with Rebecca as well just like Satan supposedly had sex with Eve. But where is the Scriptural evidence for Satan having sex with Rebecca? The whole doctrine of salvation for Israel ONLY is a doctrine of devils. And their claim that only the Galileans were saved is simple pour and incorrect interpretation of the Scriptures. So let us get back to the study at hand to prove that Jesus was indeed a Galilean who was also a JEW. Please read Luke 23:5-7. “And they were the more fierce, saying, He (Speaking of Jesus) stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, (Speaking of Jesus preaching ONLY to those of the Jewish religion or teaching throughout the land of Judah the southern kingdom of Israel to ONLY those of the Jewish religion. The word Jewry means both the land of Judah and the Jewish religion. Jesus came to his own people who followed the Law of Moses) beginning from Galilee to THIS place. 6. When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man (Speaking of Jesus if he) were a Galilaean. 7. And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod's jurisdiction,(Whose jurisdiction was in Galilee) he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.” So then, Jesus was a Galilean simply because he LIVED in the land of Galilee. Jesus was raised in the city of Nazareth which is a city in Galilee which is in the northern kingdom of Israel. Please read Luke 4:14-16. “And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out the fame of him through all the region roundabout. 15. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. 16. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.” This was the very BEGINNING of the ministry of Jesus which BEGAN in Galilee. And in this same context, we also see that Jesus’ OWN COUNTRY was the country surrounding the city of Capernaum which is also in Galilee. So let us continue reading the context and as you read pay close attention to WHOM Jesus is preaching. Luke 4:17-24. “And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21. And he began to say unto them, This day is this Scripture fulfilled in your ears. 22. And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And THEY said, Is not this Joseph's son? 23. And he said unto them, YOU will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal yourself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in your country. 24. And he said, Verily, I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.” Now we all know and agree that Jesus himself was a true Hebrew Israelite of the tribe of Judah because Jesus FULFILLED the PROPHECY concerning his first coming that testified of him in the Old Testament. Please read Genesis 49:8-12. “Judah, you are he whom your brethren shall praise: your hand shall be in the neck of your enemies; your father's children shall bow down before you. 9. Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, you are gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up? 10. The SCEPTER shall not depart from JUDAH, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh comes; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. 11. Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes: 12. His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.” Jesus is also called the Lion of the tribe of Judah in the book of Revelation. Revelation 5:5,6. “And one of the elders said unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book, and to unloose the seven seals thereof. 6. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.” Jesus is the Lamb of Almighty God slain in the eyes of God before the foundation of the world who was a descendant of King David, and who was also a descendant from the tribe of Judah. Jesus was also BORN in Bethlehem which is a town in the land of JUDAH called the city of David. Please read Luke chapter 2 but I will just quote a few verses. Luke 2:4,5,11. “And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5. To be taxed with Mary, his espoused wife, being great with a child…. ...11. For unto you is BORN this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” Also, read Matthew 2:1-6. “Now when Jesus was BORN in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2. Saying, Where is he that is born King of the JEWS? for we have seen his star in the east, and have come to worship him. 3. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be BORN. 5. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, 6. And you Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are not the least among the princes of Judah: for out of you shall come a Governor, that shall rule MY people ISRAEL.” Now, Jesus was BORN in the city of David, and Jesus was of the house of David. Jesus was born in the land of Judah and was of the tribe of Judah, Jesus was born to be the King of the JEWS to rule over ISRAEL, AND Jesus was also a Galilean as he HIMSELF testifies. John 4:44. “For Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.”
And we just read in Luke where Jesus prophesied to those to whom he was preaching that THEY would say to Jesus heal yourself, physician. Please read Luke 4:23,24 again. “And he said unto them, YOU will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal yourself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in your country. 24. And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.” So Jesus himself was testifying that he was a Galilean. But again, what does it mean to be a Galilean? Now, those who are the salvation of Israel ONLY Christians want or need you to believe that ALL Galileans are ISRAEL ONLY and therefore to THEM the JEWS are NOT true Hebrew Israelites but rather to THEM ALL Jews are EDOMITES of the seed of Esau. Let us continue reading the context of Jesus himself testifying that he is a Galilean. John 4:44,45. “For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet has no honor in his own country. 45. Then when he had come into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for THEY also went unto the feast.” So then, both Jesus and the Galileans were true Hebrew Israelites BECAUSE they kept the FEAST in Jerusalem as commanded in the Law of Moses which by the way is the SAME feast that the men of Judea also kept. Please read John 5:1. “After this there was a feast of the JEWS; and JESUS went up to Jerusalem.” Now, WHY would Jesus who is a true Hebrew Israelite go up to Jerusalem to keep the feast of the JEWS if so be that ALL Jews are Edomite children of Satan and Judaism is supposedly NOT the SAME religion of the Hebrew Israelites? Keep reading and you will see that the feast of Passover was also called the feast of the JEWS. John 6:4. “And the Passover, a feast of the JEWS, was nigh” Keep reading and you will see that the feast of Tabernacles was also the feast of the JEWS as well. John 7:2. “Now the JEW’S' feast of tabernacles was at hand.” Now, the salvation for Israel ONLY Christians can TRY and argue that the Jews’ feast was NOT the same feast of the true Hebrew faith, but then they will have to explain why Jesus himself kept the feast of the JEWS WITH the JEWS. John 7:11. “Then the Jews sought him AT the feast, and said, Where is he?”
John 4:45. “Then when he had come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he (Jesus) did at Jerusalem at the feast: for THEY ALSO went unto the feast.” The mere FACTS are these; Jesus kept the SAME feasts of the JEWS with the JEWS in the same city of Jerusalem as the Galileans ALSO kept where they saw Jesus doing miracles. So then, the same feasts on the same day in the same city of Jerusalem mean that the Galileans and the JEWS had the SAME religion called the religion of the Jews or the Jewish religion in the Bible. Please read Galatians 1:13,14. “For you have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: 14. And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.” So then, being a TRUE JEW also means being ANY true Hebrew Israelite of the seed of PROMISE who keeps the Law of Moses as their religion. BUT there were also those of the seed of Abraham through the seed of Ishmael and Esau who kept the Law of Moses as well. Remember that it was those PARTICULAR Galileans to whom Jesus prophesied that THEY would say to Jesus, Physician heal yourself. So let us see who these Galileans were who fulfilled this prophecy of Jesus. Please read Matthew 27:22-43. “Pilate said unto THEM, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? THEY ALL SAY unto him, Let him be crucified. 23. And the governor said, Why, what evil has he done? But THEY cried out even more, saying, Let him be crucified. 24. When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see YOU to it. 25. Then answered ALL the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. 26. Then he released Barabbas unto them: (Speaking of the Hebrew Israelite people who desired the Roman soldiers to crucify Jesus) and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. (This is NOT to say that every single Hebrew Israelite desired to have Jesus crucified because many Jews BELIEVED that Jesus was their Messiah) 27. Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. (So verse 27 through verse 37 are speaking of the Roman soldiers mocking Jesus) 28. And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. 29. And when they had weaved a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! 30. And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. 31. And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him. 32. And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: they compelled him to bear his cross. 33. And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, 34. They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink. 35. And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. 36. And sitting down they watched him there; 37. And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. 38. Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. 39. And THEY that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, 40. And saying, You that destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself. If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross. (The Greek word translated as “save” here in this verse in the same Greek word “sozo” that is translated as “heal” yourself in the prophecy given to the GALILEANS who Jesus said that THEY would say to him, Physician heal or “sozo” yourself. Now, since Jesus himself was sent ONLY to the lost sheep of Israel then ONLY the lost sheep of Israel were told by Jesus that the temple of his body would be destroyed and raised up again in three days. So then, let us now see WHO these Galileans were to whom Jesus said, destroy this temple and I will raise it up in three days. John 2:18-21, “Then answered the JEWS and said unto him, What SIGN do you show unto us, seeing that you do these things? 19. Jesus answered and said unto THEM, (Speaking of the JEWS, the Galileans along with other Jews of the Jewish religion of the lost sheep of Israel) Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. 20. Then said the JEWS, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? 21. But he spoke of the temple of his body.” (So then, the people who passed by that were mocking Jesus saying save yourself were the JEWS and some of those JEWS were Galileans because Jesus prophesied to THEM saying that THEY would say to him heal or “sozo” or save yourself. And some of those Galileans MAY have been some who were of the seed of Ishmael and Esau. ALL the children of Abraham were all mingled together throughout both the northern kingdom and the southern kingdom) 41. Likewise, also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, 42. He saved (Or “sozo” or healed) others; himself he cannot save (SOZO). If he is the King of ISRAEL, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. (Jesus being the King of the JEWS means the exact same thing as Jesus being the King of ISRAEL because the true Jews are true Hebrew Israelites of the seed of JACOB. But there were ALSO some children of Abraham who kept the Jewish Hebrew religion to follow the Torah and the Law of Moses that were NOT of the seed of PROMISE) 43. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.” Now, it should be clear to most of my readers that the problem of interpretation by the salvation for Israel only Christians is with their interpretation claiming that ALL Jews are Edomites who are NOT of the seed of PROMISE. And thus, they wrongly concluded that not one single Jew can be a TRUE Hebrew Israelite. And one of the verses that they use is where Jesus calls those who CLAIM that they are Jews to be of the synagogue of Satan. Please read Revelation 3:9. “Behold, I will make THEM of the synagogue of SATAN, which SAY they are Jews, and are NOT, but do lie; behold, I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.” Now since Jesus is speaking to the churches let me rephrase this verse a couple of different ways so that you can see what Jesus is saying. Revelation 3:9 Paraphrased. “Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which SAY they are TRUE CHRISTIANS and are NOT TRUE CHRISTIANS, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.” Revelation 3:9 Paraphrased. “Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which SAY they are TRUE JEWS, and are NOT JEWS, but do lie; behold, I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.” Revelation 3:9 Paraphrased. “Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which SAY they are TRUE SEED of PROMISE, and are NOT of the TRUE SEED of PROMISE, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.” In other words, there are some who SAY that they are Christians but they are NOT true born-again Christians. And in the same way, there are those of the seed of Abraham who SAY that they are the TRUE chosen people of God but they are NOT the TRUE JEWS, but rather, they are of the seed of Ishmael and Esau. You see dear children of God, in order for there to be COUNTERFEIT or FAKE Jews there must be TRUE Jews. And, therefore, Jesus will say to those who CLAIM to be the true chosen people of PROMISE, but they are NOT of the seed of promise and do lie that they are of the synagogue or of the school of Satan. And to ME, these fake Jews, so to speak, are the Muslims who follow the school or teachings of Muhammad and their religion of Islam. Jesus was speaking to a group of JEWS. And SOME of the Jews believed and some did NOT believe his teachings. And to those Jews who BELIEVED, Jesus called them his DISCIPLES if they continue in his word. But to those Jews who did not believe his teachings, he called THEM, speaking of the unbelieving Jews, the children of Satan. Let us now read John 8:44 in its CONTEXT. John 8:30-48. “As he spoke these words, many believed in him. 31. Then said Jesus to those JEWS which believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; 32. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33. They answered him, We are Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how say you, You shall be made free? (These particular Jews misunderstood what Jesus was saying to them concerning being in bondage to SIN and they thought Jesus was talking about physical bondage, as in, being captives and slaves of their enemies. Now either these “particular” Jews lied about being captives of war or they were not of the seed of PROMISE. In other words, these PARTICULAR Jews were of the seed of Ishmael and Esau because ALL the TRUE Jews of the seed of promise were in bondage at one time or another. But Jesus is talking about the bondage of SIN) 34. Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin. (Or SLAVE of sin) 35. And the servant abides not in the house for ever: but the Son abides ever. 36. If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed. 37. I KNOW that you are Abraham's seed; BUT you seek to KILL me, because my word has no place in you. 38. I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and you do that which you have seen with your father. (In other words, their seeking to KILL Jesus is NOT a work of our TRUE Father but rather killing or murder is the WORK of Satan) 39. They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus said unto them, If you were Abraham's children, you would do the WORKS of Abraham. 40. BUT now you seek to KILL me, (Which is the WORK of Satan. Your desire is to MURDER) a man that has told you the TRUTH, which I have heard of God: this did NOT Abraham. 41. You do the DEEDS of your father. Then they said to him, We are not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. 42. Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, you would LOVE me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. 43. Why do you not understand my speech? (That by your WORKS you show whose father you are the children of. Whoever you yield yourself to obey his servant you are. If you do good you are of God and if you do evil you are of Satan. How can you not understand my words?) Even because you cannot hear my word. 44. You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will DO. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45. And because I tell you the truth, you believe me not. 46. Which of you convinces me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do you not believe me? 47. He that is of God heard God's words: you therefore hear them not, because you are not of God. 48. Then answered the JEWS, and said unto him, Say we not well that you are a Samaritan, and have a devil?” Now, the reason that I myself believe that SOME of the Jews were of the seed of Ishmael and Esau is that Jesus also said in John that the particular Jews who did NOT believe that they would believe ANOTHER prophet who would come after Jesus. And I believe that other prophet to be the prophet, Muhammad. And those who follow Muhammad are of the lineage of Ishmael and Esau. Please read John 5:42,43. “But I know you (Or I perceive of you), that you have NOT the LOVE of God in you. 43. I have come in my Father's name, and you receive me not: if ANOTHER shall come in his own name, him, you will receive.” And this is exactly what happened with those of the seed of Abraham through the seed of Ishmael and Esau. They believed another prophet, the prophet Muhammad. And Muslims sincerely believe that because they are of the seed of Ishmael, the FIRSTBORN son of Abraham, that THEY are the TRUE seed of PROMISE. Some Muslims believe that the Jews have corrupted the Bible to change the seed of promise coming through JACOB and NOT through Ishmael. Jesus is teaching us that it is the HATE and the PRIDE that makes people the child of the Devil. That is how Jesus knew that they were NOT of God. He went on to tell them that if they truly believed Moses then they would also believe the teaching of him. For you see, Moses prophesied of the Messiah being raised up first as a prophet among his own people to then become the Savior of Israel. Now, the closest bloodline relatives of Jesus are the descendants of the tribe of JUDAH and this is why Jesus says that salvation is OF the JEWS. Please read John 4:22 from several translations where Jesus himself says that salvation is OF the JEWS. Here is John 4:22 from the King James Version.
“You (Speaking of the Samaritans) worship you know not what: WE know what WE worship: for salvation is OF the JEWS.”
Here is John 4:22 from the American Standard Version.
“You worship that which you know not: WE worship that which WE know; for salvation is FROM the JEWS.”
Here is John 4:22 from the Bible in Basic English.
“You give worship, but without knowledge of what you are worshiping: WE give worship to what WE have knowledge of: for salvation COMES FROM the JEWS.”
Here is John 4:22 from the New Century Version.
“You Samaritans worship something you don't understand. WE understand what WE worship, BECAUSE salvation COMES FROM the JEWS.”
Here is John 4:22 from the New Living Translation. “You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while WE JEWS know all about him, FOR (Or BECAUSE) salvation COMES THROUGH the JEWS.”
So then, Jesus HIMSELF is saying that he is a JEW. But we also know that Jesus identifies himself as being one of the children of ISRAEL by saying, Hear O ISRAEL, OUR God is one Lord. Jesus was of the tribe of Judah which is one of the twelve tribes of the children of ISRAEL but yet Jesus also called himself a JEW. So according to the Bible itself, a TRUE JEW is indeed a Hebrew Israelite. And salvation came THROUGH the tribe of JUDAH being one of the twelve tribes of ISRAEL.
Please read Mark 12:29.
“And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord OUR God is one Lord:”
Now read Acts 7:37.
“This is that Moses, which said unto the children of ISRAEL, A PHROPHET shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of YOUR BRETHREN, like unto me; him shall you hear.”
Then in Acts 3, we can clearly see that Jesus is that PROPHET, whom God promised ISRAEL, that he would raise up to be their Savior.
Acts 3:20-23.
“And He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21. Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. 22. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall you hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.”
Now anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear can clearly see that Jesus was BORN as a JEW in order to become the King of the JEWS and the King of ISRAEL. We can also see that Jesus was raised up in the city of Nazareth in Galilee and that is why Jesus is also called a Galilean. So then being a Galilean does NOT mean that it is impossible for a Galilean to be a JEW because Jesus was BOTH a Galilean AND a JEW. And anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear can also see that the Bible identifies Peter as being both a Galilean AND a JEW. We have already seen from Acts 1:11 and Acts 2:7 that Peter was a Galilean. So now let us look at some verses where Peter is called a JEW.
Please read Galatians 2:14-16.
“But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If YOU, being a JEW, (And YOU yourself) live after the manner of Gentiles, and NOT as DO the Jews, why compel you the Gentiles to live as do the JEWS? 15. WE who are JEWS by nature, (Or we speaking of all the Apostles of Jesus including Peter to whom he is speaking as being natural BORN JEWS) and not sinners of the Gentiles, 16. Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” We also know that Paul was a JEW as well who was a HEBREW of Hebrews born of the tribe of Benjamin. And we also know that the RELIGION of Paul is called the religion of the JEWS in the Bible and the SAME religion that the Galileans ALSO kept. Please read Galatians 1:13,14 again. “For you have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: 14. And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in my OWN nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.” And we also know that the Bible itself teaches us that ALL the children of ISRAEL of the twelve tribes of Israel are called JEWS. Please read Acts 13:13-16.
“But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went INTO the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and sat down. 15. And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, You men and brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say on. 16. Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and you that fear God, give audience.”
Here we see Paul who was a JEW or the JEWISH religion going into the Synagogue to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the men of ISRAEL. Paul continues to IDENTIFY to whom he is preaching throughout the entire context. Please see the following verses.
Acts 13:17.
“The God of this people of Israel chose OUR fathers, (So Paul was including himself as being a Hebrew Israelite and thus one of the children of ISRAEL along with THOSE IN the synagogue to whom he was preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ) and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.” Acts 13:23. “Of this man's seed has God according to his promise raised unto ISRAEL a Savior, Jesus:”
Acts 13:24.
“When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to ALL the people of Israel.”
Now skip down to verse 26 where Paul again IDENTIFIES to whom he is preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Acts 13:26.
“Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you fears God, to YOU is the word of this salvation sent.”
All the way through the entire context of Paul preaching the gospel in the synagogue he is bringing this word of salvation to the children of ISRAEL. Now skip down to verse 42 of this SAME context where Paul again IDENTIFIES those to whom has just finished preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Act 13:42,43.
“And when the JEWS were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles sought that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath. 43. Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the JEWS AND religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.”
So then, Paul clearly identifies ALL the men of ISRAEL as being JEWS. Also, we clearly see that there were some PROSELYTES among the natural born children of Israel as well. A proselyte is someone who is not a Hebrew by birth but has BECOME a follower of Yahweh by being CIRCUMCISED. Please read the study Dd-89. WAS JESUS A JEW? for all the verses that proved that anyone can become a JEW of the JEWISH religion by being circumcised. We know that Jesus preached the kingdom of God all around the Sea of Galilee to the Galileans but that is NOT the only area that Jesus was sent to the lost sheep of ISRAEL. Jesus also preached the kingdom of God all over the land of Judah and in the city of Jerusalem which is the capital city of the lower kingdom of Judah.
Please read Matthew 4:23-25.
“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. 24. And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with diverse diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. 25. And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.”
Matthew 19:1. “And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;” Luke 5:17. “And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which came out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.” This proves that not ALL Galileans dwelt in the northern kingdom of Israel because Jesus had disciples from all over BOTH kingdoms of Israel. In other words, Jesus was sent ONLY to the lost sheep of ISRAEL who were scattered all over the whole land of Israel in both the northern and the southern kingdoms. But just because Jesus HIMSELF was only sent to the lost sheep of Israel does NOT mean that the disciples of Jesus were sent ONLY to the lost sheep of Israel. Yes, the disciples of Jesus were told to preach the gospel to the JEWS first, but when the children of Israel as a whole rejected Jesus and their Messiah then God turned to the Gentiles who were never a people of God. Again, Peter who was a Hebrew Israelite ALSO called himself a JEW.
Acts 10:28.
“And he said unto them, You know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a JEW to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; BUT God has shown ME that I should not call any man common or unclean.”
Peter also called the men of Israel JEWS.
Acts 2:5.
“And there were dwelling at Jerusalem JEWS, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.” These Jews who were born in other countries traveled to Jerusalem to celebrate the feast of weeks and the day of Pentecost. And there were some who BECAME Jews that are called PROSELYTES.
Acts 2:10.
“Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,”
And some of those present hearing the first sermon being preached by Peter on the day of Pentecost to ONLY the JEWS were men from Judaea. So this teaches us that the men of Galilee had the same religion and Law of Moses as the men of Judaea
Act 2:14.
“But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, You men of JUDAEA, and all you that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:”
Then Peter IDENTIFIES these SAME men who were called JEWS and men of Judaea as being men of ISRAEL in verse 22 of the same context.
Act 2:22.
“You men of ISRAEL, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as you yourselves also know:”
Now if so be that salvation is for Israel ONLY then why does the Bible itself say that salvation is to EVERYONE who BELIEVES to the JEW FIRST and THEN ALSO to the GENTILES and does not even mention the word ISRAEL?
Romans 1:16.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to EVERYONE that BELIEVES; to the Jew first, and ALSO to the Greek.”
It does not mention ISRAEL because this is NOT the only verse in the Bible and neither is Matthew 15:24 the only verse in the Bible. But that is the way the salvation for Israel ONLY Christians treat Matthew 15:24.
Matthew 15:24.
“But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
The doctrine of salvation for Israel ONLY is a doctrine of devils because it wrongly teaches that Jesus died for the sin of Israel ONLY and NOT for the sins of the WHOLE world. This salvation for Israel only doctrine is just another form of Calvinism and predeterminism teaching but even WORSE because it is a RACIST doctrine claiming that Jesus only died for a SINGLE RACE of people. There is a “teaching” that salvation is for Israel only. And that teaching is taught by Christians who are Black Africans. And there is also a “teaching” that salvation is for Israel only, that is taught by Christians that are white Caucasian people. And each of these groups of Christians sincerely believe that Jesus died on the cross for only ONE RACE of people. So obviously, the Black African Christians who CLAIM they are the true Hebrew Israelites argue that Jesus died for ONLY Black African people and no white people can be saved. And the White Caucasian Christians who CLAIM that they are the true Hebrew race of people argue that Jesus died for ONLY the White race of people and no black or dark skinned people can be saved. But thanks be to God that Jesus died on the cross for ALL races of people so that WHOSOEVER of any human being of ANY race of people who BELIEVES in Jesus might be saved.
