WHO IS OUR SAVIOR ALMIGHTY GOD THE FATHER OR JESUS OUR LORD I was taught that Jesus in our Savior and there are scriptures that plainly say that Jesus is the Savior of the world. I was also taught that since there are other scriptures that clearly show that Almighty God the Father is Savior, then therefore Jesus is one and the SAME as the Father, Almighty God. But is this what the WHOLE word of God truly teaches? The purpose of this study is to look closely at what the scriptures actually say about who is our Savior and determine if the doctrine of the trinity and that Jesus is God as in Jesus is THE ALMIGHTY God are the truth? Or have taken verses of scripture been taken out of context and made to say something that when left in their context they are not truly saying? The word “Savior” is found 37 times in the Bible; 13 times in the Old Testament and 24 times in the New Testament. Let's begin this study with a couple verses from the Old Testament that definitely and without a doubt refer to Almighty God the Father as being the Savior. Psalm 106:21 says, “They forgot God their savior, which had done great things in Egypt.” It was Almighty God that brought the children of Israel out of the bondage of Egypt. So the God the Father is clearly shown as being their savior. Isaiah 45:21 says, “Tell you, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who has declared this from ancient time? Who has told it from that time? Have not I the Lord? And there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Savior; there is none beside me.” This verse plainly shows that Almighty God is the Savior, and since this verse says that there is NONE beside him, that is to say that there is no other God, then one could conclude that Almighty God is the ONLY Savior and that there is no other Savior. But would this conclusion or assumption be totally correct and in harmony with the whole word of God? Let us continue this study to find out. Lets read two more verse that clearly shows God to be our Savior from the New Testament. I Timothy 2:3 says, “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.” Jude verse 25. “To the ONLY wise God our Savior, be the glory and majesty, and dominion and power, both now and forever, Amen.” The Bible plainly teaches that for US, Christians or believers, there is but ONE God and clearly states that this ONE God is the Father. Therefore the ONLY wise and ONLY TRUE God, which is the Father, is our Savior according to these verses of scripture. However, this in NOT the WHOLE word of God, so let us continue to look at the verses that plainly show that Jesus is also our Savior. 2 Timothy 1:10 says, “But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death, and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” Then in Philippians 3:20 we read, “For our conversation in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Now these verses clearly show us that Jesus Christ is our Savior, so one could conclude that since Jesus Christ is shown to be our Savior, AND Almighty God the Father is shown to be our Savior, then therefore either Jesus IS God and ONE and the SAME as Almighty God, but would this conclusion be entirely a correct conclusion, which some dogmatically teach to be so? OR one could conclude that we have TWO saviors, but again is this conclusion an entirely correct conclusion? OR it could be that there is yet a third possiblity which I offer to you my readers and all who will hear, in which I conclude that Almighty God the Father is our SAVIOR, who CHOSE to use his SON, whom he GAVE the NAME Jesus, as the MEANS by which he himself would SAVE his creation. Remember that the NAME of Jesus MEANS the salvation OF YEHWEH or YEHWEH SAVES. Since there are those that teach that Jesus is NOT God and there are those that teach that Jesus IS God, and both sides use the Bible as their foundation to support what they teach, it should be obvious to all that only one side is correct. But which side? Let us continue in this study to see IF the conclusion that some have drawn that Jesus IS God, as in meaning that Jesus is THE ALMIGHTY God, based upon the observation that BOTH Jesus Christ and Almighty God are shown to be the Savior of the world. So the question is, Does that fact and undeniable truth that the Bible plainly teaches that BOTH Jesus Christ AND Almighty God the Father are shown to be the savior therefore prove without a doubt the Jesus IS God, as in that this means that Jesus is ONE and the SAME being as Almighty God? In other words, does the fact that some verses say that Almighty God is our savior, while other verse say that Jesus is our savior MEAN that Jesus IS THE ALMIGHTY God? Plain and simple is the conclusion that some dogmatically teach that Jesus is THE ALMIGHTY God a CORRECT conclusion based upon the WHOLE word of Almighty God? Let us continue this study in God's word to reveal the TRUTH of his WHOLE word. Titus 1:2,3 tells us this, “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, PROMISED before the world began; But has in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Savior.” The first part 2 Kings 13:5 reads, “The Lord (speaking of Almighty God the Father) GAVE Israel a savior...” Then 1 John 4:14 says, “And have seen and do testify that the Father (Almighty God the Father) SENT the SON to be the Savior of the world.” Next we read in Acts 13:23 the following, “Of this man's seed (speaking of David) has God according to his promise RAISED unto Israel a Savior, Jesus.” And one more in Acts 5:31 which says, “Him (speaking of Jesus) has God (referring to Almighty God the Father) EXALTED with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, for too give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.” We can CLEARLY see from these verses of scripture that Almighty God the Father PROMISED unto us a Savior, that the Lord God Almighty GAVE us a Savior. We also see that this Savior is his only begotten SON. which Almighty God sent to be the Savior of the world. God the Father then RAISED UP and EXALTED his Son Jesus to be a Savior. Please do NOT misunderstand what I am teaching. I am NOT trying to pull Jesus down from the place that Almighty God the Father has HIGHLY EXALTED his SON, but rather to teach the Jesus that the word of TRUTH describes to usand NOT another Jesus as I believe many dogmatically teach. Let me try to explain what I mean. There are those that dogmatically teach the DOCTRINE of the trinity, which states that Jesus IS GOD, as in being FULLY GOD in the FLESH and EQUAL with Almighty God the Father in every way where neither is less than or greater than the other. The DOCTRINE of the trinity also states that Jesus is NOT God the Father and that God the Father is NOT his SON Jesus, BOTH are GOD, but yet there are NOT TWO Gods but ONLY ONE GOD. And the Bible teaches that there is but ONE TRUE ALMIGHTY GOD. Therefore, to ME, IF, Jesus IS GOD, being FULLY GOD according to the DOCTRINE of the trinity, then, to ME, according to the doctrine of the trinity, or as I am understanding the doctrine of the trinity, that Jesus must without fail also be THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE and ALMIGHTY GOD, because the DOCTRINE of the trinity and deity of Jesus plainly state that God the Father and God the Son are CO-EQUAL or are EQUAL in every way where neither is less than or greater than the other. Therefore IF this were the truth, then to be EQUAL would make Jesus to be ALMIGHTY as well. Now to ME there is PROBLEM with this, because the man made DOCTRINE of the trinity PLAINLY states the Jesus is NOT the FATHER and yet the ONLY ONE the word of TRUTH teaches IS THE ONLY TRUE and ALMIGHTY GOD IS the FATHER. Therefore IF Jesus were TRULY GOD, being FULLY GOD and EQUAL with GOD and TRULY ALMIGHTY, then Jesus would be the FATHER. However this is NOT what the Bible teaches, but RATHER the word of TRUTH teaches that Jesus is NOT the FATHER. The WHOLE word of God teaches that Jesus is NOT EQUAL with Almighty God the FATHER. And the Bible teaches that Jesus is NOT the ONE and ONLY TRUE and ALMIGHTY GOD, but rather the Bible teahes us that Jesus was SENT BY Almighty God the Father to show us the ONE TRUE GOD who is the FATHER. Please read John 17:1-3, where Jesus HIMSELF CLEARLY and PLAINLY identifies the FATHER as the TRUE GOD and himself as one SENT BY his God and Father, THE ALMIGHTY. "These words spoke Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify YOUR Son, that YOUR Son also may glorify YOU: 2. As YOU have GIVEN him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as YOU have given him. 3. And THIS is life eternal, that they might KNOW YOU the ONLY TRUE God, AND Jesus Christ, whom YOU have SENT." So then, WHAT does the Bible teach about Jesus? Please keep reading this study in God's word to learn WHO is ACTUALLY the SAVIOR of mankind as well as all the studies I have written to learn WHO Jesus IS ACCORDING to what the WHOLE word of TRUTH teaches us. So what Bible, the word of God, actually teaches is that ALMIGHTY God, the ONLY TRUE and wise God is the SAVIOR and that he himself chose his SON, whom he gave the NAME Jesus, to be the MEANS by which he is going to bring about salvation. Here is an illustration that will help you better see what I am saying since many of you have been dogmatically taught that Jesus IS the ALMIGHTY God. Suppose there was a lifeguard that will represent Almighty God the Father as being our Savior. This lifeguard saw someone drowning and he desired to save this drowning person. So then this lifeguard picked up a rope with a floatation device tied to it and he hurled it to the drowning person while he himself still held fast to the other end of the rope. Then the lifeguard shouts to the drowning person, grab hold of the life preserver and I will pull you into safety. The drowning person then grabs hold of the life ring and holds on tightly while the lifeguard pulls him out of the raging sea to the safety of the shore. I will now give to you all the other names of the various parts of this story as to who they represent to make it clearer. The lifeguard as you already know represents Almighty God the Father, the rope I will call the word of God, and the life preserver I will call Jesus, the Son of God and of course the drowning person is all of mankind. Now I ask you is God the Father the Savior? Or is the the word of God the Savior? Or is Jesus the savior? In other words, did the lifeguard save the drowning person, or did the rope save the drowning person. Or did the life preserver, the floating device, save the drowning person? To ME, it is clear that the Father PROVIDED a MEANS for salvation for mankind by sending us his word and his Son Jesus, or if you will by throwing us the rope and life preserver. God CHOSE to use his Son and the preaching of the gospel as the means by which to bring about salvation, which by the way still REQUIRES the drowning persons or the one who is lost in sin to TAKE HOLD of this so great a salvation and HOLD FIRM to the END or until they have actually obtained eternal life in the world to come.
Can you not see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ that the lifeguard could have chosen to swim out to the drowning person and personally brought him to the safety of the shore by himself. In the same way Almighty God could have CHOSEN any means that he so desired to bring about the salvation of mankind, but WHAT Almighty God the Father CHOSE as the MEANS by which he would provide as the WAY for all of mankind to be saved is the foolishness of preaching of his Son Jesus the Christ.
However, Almighty God the Father chose to use his Son Jesus as the means by which he provided for all of mankind to OBTAIN salvation. Now it is up to each and every person to accept this salvation and hold fast to it to the end. For you see, just like the drowning person we cannot save ourselves. So then, if we do NOT grab hold of the life preserver that God has thrown or given to us and hold fast to it our entire life, then we will be overcome by the sea and perish. For you see, we have not yet made it to the safety of the shore where we can rest in the arms of God the Father our Savior. We are still IN the raging world. We are to FIGHT the good fight of FAITH unto the end. In closing I would like to share with you a few other verses of scripture that plainly show that Almighty God the Father is our Savior and is the ONLY Savior. Isaiah 43:11 says, “I, even I, am the Lord,and beside me there is NO savior.” Then Hosea 13:4 reads, “Yet I am the Lord your God from the land of Egypt, and you shall know no god before me: for there is NO savior beside me.” Again God the Father, Almighty God, is our Savior and he has CHOSEN to use his Son, Jesus, as the MEANS by which he has provided or made available the salvation of all of mankind, but it is up to each and every individual to reach out and take hold and never let go of the means of salvation, namely our FAITH in the Son of God, Jesus, and the word of God. So those that teach the trinity and that Jesus IS God, as in, Jesus IS one and the SAME being as ALMIGHTY God have misused God's word and have taken verses out of the context and have not considered the WHOLE word of God. The TRUTH of the matter is that the Bible teaches that Jesus is the SON of God and that the Word of God became flesh. In other words, God spoke his WORD to his servants and his prophets, who then in turn wrote his WORD down and prophesied God's WORD in the earth. Then in the fullness of time God sent his angel to a virgin named Mary and the angel spoke the WORD of God to Mary, who then AGREED to God's WORD saying, 'be it to me according to your WORD'. So then God the Father manifested his WORD as we read earlier from Titus 1:2,3. The word “manifested” means to reveal, to show, to appear or to make known. The word “appear” means to come into view, to become visible or to come into existence. God had promised a Savior from the foundation of the world, which he kept secret for a time. Then he revealed it to his servants the prophets a piece at a time until the fullness of time had come and and all was right and in place for his WORD to be revealed and to appear in the FLESH. That is to say, for his Word to BECOME flesh. When Mary AGREED to God's WORD that the angel spoke unto her which was also prophesied for hundreds of years before by saying, "be it unto me according to your WORD", then God's WORD was allowed to be conceived within Mary's womb and the WORD was born of a woman and became FLESH. Mary bore a son just as the angel had said she would and Mary named or called her son JESUS just as the angel had also told her to do. The name JESUS means "Yahweh saves" or "Jehovah saves". The word Yahweh is always rendered as Almighty God in the Old Testament and is translated by some as Jehovah. So even the name of Jesus points to Almighty God Jehovah as being our Savior, and the Word as the MEANS by which God chose to use to save mankind. The Bible says that it PLEASED GOD by the foolishness of PREACHING to save them that believe, that is to say, to save those who reach out by FAITH and take hold of salvation that has been provided for them and hold fast to it unto the end. To BELIEVE is a CONTINUAL act and not just a one time event. If you truly believe, then your actions will show it.
1 Corinthians 1:21 says,
"For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it PLEASED God by the foolishness of PREACHING (speaking forth God's word) to save them the BELIEVE."
This verse does not say to save them that have once believed. Faith is NOW in the present and if your faith ceases so does your salvation. Therefore HOLD FAST to the confession of your faith which has great recompense of reward. Almighty God sent his only begotten Son to die for YOUR sins. If you believe and confess that Jesus died for your sins and is now risen from the dead and you hold fast to this confession of your faith, then you too will receive eternal life in the world to come. As you read God's word he himself will reveal from his word all that he desire you to do. OBEY his Holy Spirit and you will be in the way to the Father. If you have been taught the doctrine of the trinity and that Jesus is fully God and fully man at the same time as many of us have, including myself and would like to know more about the TRUTH of who Jesus is please read “19 THINGS TO PONDER” and the following in depth studies in God's word: “THE TRINITY AND THE DEITY OF JESUS” “DID JESUS CREATE ALL THINGS?” Thanks for reading and may God bless you richly as you seek to know the TRUTH of his holy word. Always remember that any doctrine can be taught using only PART of God's word as has been done by those that teach the doctrine of the trinity and that Jesus is God in the flesh, fully God and fully man at the same time. Now I am confident that they do not know that they are teaching incorrectly the word of God, but are merely repeating what they themselves have been taught. We have all been deceived in one area or another at one time or another so do not blame and fight against man. It is the enemy Satan who does not want man to know the TRUTH that Jesus, the Son of God came in the FLESH. This is how we know the Spirit of God and the spirit of DECEPTION. Read 1 John 4:2-3 which says,
"Beloved believe NOT every spirit, (every teaching or doctrine) but try (check and see, search the word to see if what you are taught is the truth) the spirits whether they are of God: (why?) because many FALSE prophets (teachers) are gone out into the world.
Hereby know you (or this is HOW you can know without a doubt) the Spirit of God: EVERY spirit that confesses (states, says, or teaches) that Jesus Christ IS come in the FLESH is OF God:
And EVERY spirit that confesses NOT that Jesus Christ is come in the FLESH is NOT of God: and this (teaching or doctrine that states that Jesus is NOT come in the FLESH) is that spirit of ANTICHRIST, whereof you have heard that it should come; and even now is already in the world."
It just seems to me that teach that Jesus is GOD in the FLESH being FULLY GOD and fully man at the same time and EQUAL with GOD goes AGAINST (or is ANTI) the ANOINTING ( or ANTI CHRIST or against the ANOINTING of the Holy Spirit). You see, the word "Christ" means anointing). In other words, Jesus was ANOINTED by Almighty God the Father with the Holy Spirit to do the works that he did. Remember Jesus said "I can do nothing of MYSELF (or in my OWN strength) but RATHER Almighty God, the Father THROUGH his Holy Spirit is the one who does the works." It was THROUGH the Holy Spirit that Jesus was able to live his life without sin and do the mighty works that he did while he was on the earth.
