SPELLING EDITED F-17. WHAT is the UNPARDONABLE SIN? A dear brother in the Lord wrote to me the other day and asked me several questions and one of his questions was “What is the unpardonable sin? And how can he know if he had committed it?” Now I had studied this topic or subject before and I had drawn some conclusions that satisfied ME that I myself had never committed any sin that I had not been forgiven when I repented of that sin. So I did not pursue this study any further. But when this brother wrote to me I felt an urgency by the leading of the Holy Spirit to take a deeper look into this subject of the “unpardonable sin” to jog my memory, so to speak, as to what I had learned when I had studied this subject before. Because I could sense the FEAR in this dear brother in the Lord who had become SO FEARFUL that he DOUBTED that God even loved him any more. All I could remember for sure when this brother wrote to me confiding in me of his CONCERNS was that I myself had not committed such a sin and I was not worried or fearful that I myself would ever commit such a sin that would not be forgiven by God. So I could not truly ASSURE him BY the word of God at that moment in time that he had NOT committed the UNPARDONABLE sin because I myself did not TRULY know at that point in time what the unpardonable sin was in the light of the whole word of God. But now I do through the leading of the Holy Spirit, so here is what the Holy Spirit showed me. Now to be perfectly honest with you I was feeling a bit lazy at that moment in time when this brother first told me of his concerns so I did not feel like digging in deep into the Bible to search the truth out for myself straight from God's word. So my first thought was to search the Internet to see what other Bible teachers were saying about “What is the unpardonable sin?” So I took the easy road, at first, by searching the Internet by typing in Google search the question, “What is the unpardonable sin?” And the result of this search was that I was NOT satisfied with any of the studies that I had researched on the Internet. To be truthful and completely honest I had only read two articles and neither one did I read all the way through. The reason why I did not finish reading either article was that in the first article I read I could tell right away that it was written by a Calvinist, who teaches that it is impossible for any Christian to LOSE their salvation. And therefore it would be impossible for any true born again Christian to commit the unpardonable sin because Calvinists believe that ONCE a person accepts Jesus as their Savior, then they are ETERNALLY saved. And therefore they can never ever LOSE their salvation, no matter WHAT! Meaning, ACCORDING to THEIR doctrine, that a true born again Christian could even BLASPHEME the Holy Spirit or even DENY Jesus as their Savior, and still yet NEVER LOSE their salvation. Now knowing that Calvinistic Christians are in ERROR on this subject of ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED I had my doubts that they would be teaching the truth on the subject of the unpardonable sin, so I left off reading any more on that website and went to another. I knew in my spirit that it would not be likely for any Christian who remains close to God to commit a sin that would be unpardonable, but at the same time I also knew that it is very possible for any Christian to become cold in their walk with the Lord and be DECEIVED by the deceitfulness of sin and that any Christian can LOSE their reward of ETERNAL LIFE. Then while reading the second article, which again showed error in interpreting the Scriptures, I simply got discouraged with this writer's approach trying to explain what I sensed he or she did not truly understand. I left off this manner of searching for the TRUTH and I decided, tired or not, that I would search the WORD of truth the Holy Bible for myself. I jotted down the Scripture references of Matthew 12:31 and Mark 3:30 that I read from these two websites to jog my memory as to the CONTEXT of where these verses are found. Now, while I was in the process of looking these verses of Scripture up, I was dwelling on the question as to what this sin of BLASPHEMY against the Holy Spirit might be that God would NOT forgive. So then, at that moment, the question came to me of the Holy Spirit saying to me, “THINK Mark. What is the ONLY sin that WILL NOT be forgiven?” Please notice that the Holy Spirit said to me the word “WILL NOT” be forgiven, as in, it is the ONLY sin that is IMPOSSIBLE for God to forgive! And NOT that God is not WILLING to forgive what the Bible calls the UNPARDONABLE sin. And as I was thinking about what the Holy Spirit had just said to me a verse came to my mind found in Revelation 21:8 which says. “But the FEARFUL, and UNBELIEVING, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” And then I thought to myself, “Of course. The ONLY sin that God cannot or will not forgive is a sin that is NOT REPENTED of, which is the sin of UNBELIEF because a person would be living in UNBELIEF. And, therefore, they would NOT BELIEVE that they had any need to REPENT.” In other words, the only sin that will not and cannot be forgiven a person is when that person CONTINUES NOT to BELIEVE that they need to REPENT. This is why Jesus said that they would be in DANGER of eternal judgment or eternal damnation as the King James says and NOT that there is absolutely NO FORGIVENESS for them if they turned from the UNBELIEF to REPENT of their sin of BLASPHEMY. You see, these words in DANGER of eternal judgment tells me that IF SO BE a person living in UNBELIEF ceases from being an unbeliever to become a BELIEVER and REPENT of their sins, then they are NO LONGER in DANGER of eternal judgment IF SO BE that they REMAIN a BELIEVER and do not return to the sin of UNBELIEF. While I am on the subject of “UNBELIEF” I want my readers to know and understand that NOT ALL unbelief is a SIN. For example, a Christian may NOT believe that divine healing is for today and that the gifts of the Holy Spirit ceased with the early church. Now while those Christians are in UNBELIEF by NOT believing the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of God that healing is indeed for today they are NOT committing “SIN”, as in, sin which will cause them to lose their reward of eternal life. But rather their unbelief in divine healing will only cause them to lose their salvation of HEALING in this present world. I had never really understood how those who are FEARFUL would be found guilty of being worthy to be cast into the lake of fire. I mean WHY would someone, who was just FEARFUL, cause them to be judged as a sinner just because they were FEARFUL? But now I can see how a true born again Christian can become DECEIVED by FALSE teaching to become SO FEARFUL that they NO LONGER BELIEVE that God loves them and that God will NOT FORGIVE them of their sins no matter how much they seek forgiveness with TEARS of sorrow and regret. Because some well-meaning preacher has MISUSED God's word to INCORRECTLY teach these dear brothers and sisters in the Lord that they have crossed some kind of so-called line of NO returning back to God by not rightly dividing the word of truth. Now for ME, that one verse in Revelation 21:8 settled it right then and there that the ONLY sin that could ever be UNPARDONABLE was the sin of UNBELIEF. But at the same time, I knew within me that for others some more sound Biblical evidence from the word of God would be needed to ASSURE BELIEVERS that they themselves had NOT committed the sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit that has become to be known by Christians as the “UNPARDONABLE SIN”, because of what some have been taught as to what BLASPHEMING the Holy Spirit means in the eyes of what the teaching of MAN THINKS blaspheming the Holy Spirit means. So then, I did as I always do, I looked up every passage of scripture in the gospels where Jesus talked about blaspheming the Holy Spirit and I read the CONTEXT to see what Jesus was truly saying and to whom Jesus was speaking and here is what I found as to what Jesus was saying and that it AGREED with what the Holy Spirit was showing me. This is HOW you can be assured that you are indeed listening to the Holy Spirit of Almighty God as opposed to listening to one's OWN reasoning or the LIES of the enemy who is set on DECEIVING mankind. Let us continue this study in God's word by reading both accounts found in the gospels of Matthew and Mark and then we will go back and take a closer look at what Jesus is truly saying. Here is what the gospel of Matthew 12:31 has to say being LEFT in the full CONTEXT of what Jesus is teaching. Matthew 12:21-42. “And in his name shall the Gentiles trust. 22. Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. 23. And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David? 24. But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow does not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. 25. And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26. And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? 27. And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. 28. But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come unto you. 29. Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first binds the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. 30. He that is not with me is against me, and he that gathers not with me scatters abroad. 31. Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32. And whosoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaks against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. 33. Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. 34. O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37. For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words, you shall be condemned. 38. Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from you. 39. But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40. For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41. The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. 42. The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.” Now I am sure that some of you have already seen by the leading of the Holy Spirit just from reading through this entire passage of Scripture that the main subject of conversation is that of Jesus trying to get these Jews to BELIEVE that he is the Messiah, the man sent by God to the people and that it is BY the power of the Holy Spirit of the one true God dwelling in him that is empowering Jesus, the Son of God, to cast out devils and heal the sick. But for those who may not be seeing this truth as yet, I will go over this passage of Scripture again verse by verse emphasizing different words and phrases so that this truth can easily be seen by all my readers right after we read through the entire CONTEXT of Mark 3:30. Here is Mark 3:1-35. “And he entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man there which had a withered hand. 2. And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. 3. And he said unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth. 4. And he said unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath days, or to do evil? To save a life, or to kill? But they held their peace. 5. And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he said unto the man, Stretch forth your hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. 6. And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him. 7. But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea, 8. And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him. 9. And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him. 10. For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues. 11. And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, You are the Son of God. 12. And he straightly charged them that they should not make him known. 13. And he went up into a mountain, and called unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. 14. And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, 15. And to have the power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils: 16. And Simon he surnamed Peter; 17. And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder: 18. And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite, 19. And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into a house. 20. And the multitude came together again so that they could not so much as eat bread. 21. And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. 22. And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He has Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casts he out the devils. 23. And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? 24. And if a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25. And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26. And if Satan rises up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 27. No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. 28. Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29. But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost has never forgiveness, but is in DANGER of eternal damnation: 30. Because they said, He has an unclean spirit. 31. There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. 32. And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, your mother and your brethren without are seeking for you. 33. And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? 34. And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 35. For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.” I want to first draw your attention to verse 29 where Jesus is trying to WARN these Jews as well as all UNBELIEVERS that they are in DANGER of eternal judgment to be cast into the lake of fire to be destroyed when all the wicked are judged at the end of the 1000 year reign of Jesus IF SO BE that they do NOT REPENT of their BLASPHEMY of UNBELIEF. Jesus was NOT saying to these UNBELIEVING Jews that their BLASPHEMY against the Holy Spirit of NOT BELIEVING that Almighty God was working IN his Son Jesus as being an “UNPARDONABLE SIN” in the way that many believers have come to MISUNDERSTAND these words of Jesus to actually mean. Yes, these passages of Scripture do say that there is NEVER FORGIVENESS of this sin of BLASPHEMY, but in the gospel of Mark, Jesus goes on to say that they are in DANGER of hellfire speaking of the lake of fire. This is an OXYMORON of terms, because if there is NEVER FORGIVENESS once a person commits this sin of BLASPHEMY then their fate would be CERTAIN as opposed to being in DANGER. What I mean by this is that some believers have become CONFUSED as to what this verse truly means. I know this because there are some Christians who have made it known to me and to others that they are FEARFUL that they MAY have committed this so-called “UNPARDONABLE SIN.” And therefore because of what they WRONGLY understand this verse to TRULY mean, then they are in EXTREME FEAR that there is NO more HOPE for them and that they will be cast into the lake of fire on the Day of Judgment. How horrible it must be to live with such an EXTREME FEAR simply because they have been DECEIVED by the FALSE teaching of well-meaning preachers who UNKNOWINGLY have MISLEAD some dear children of God to wrongly believe that they have crossed some kind of so-called line of NO RETURNING back to God. The TRUTH of the matter is that Jesus is saying that those who DENY that Jesus is the CHOSEN ONE sent by Almighty God shall REMAIN in their sin of UNBELIEF of BLASPHEMY against the Holy Spirit and NEVER have FORGIVENESS of their UNBELIEF, IF SO BE that they do NOT REPENT and confess their sin of BLASPHEMY by asking God to forgive them and then BELIEVE God's word of PROMISE that he is FAITHFUL to forgive us of ALL our sins and to CLEANSE us from ALL our unrighteousness. Please understand and know that any and all UNBELIEF is BLASPHEMY against the Holy Spirit and has NO FORGIVENESS so long as the UNBELIEVER remains in the UNBELIEF. But as soon as an UNBELIEVER becomes a BELIEVER and confesses their sin, then Almighty God is ALWAYS FAITHFUL to FORGIVE them of ALL their sins and to cleanse them from all their unrighteousness. Please notice what Jesus says in Matthew 12:31-37. “ Wherefore I say unto you, ALL manner of sin AND BLASPHEMY shall be FORGIVEN unto men: but the BLASPHEMY against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. (Then Jesus QUALIFIES what he means by this in the following verses) 32. And whosoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaks against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. (So the speaking AGAINST what Jesus said is BLASPHEMY which shall be forgiven, but speaking AGAINST what the Holy Spirit was DOING through Jesus was NOT BELIEVING that Almighty God the Father was DWELLING IN Jesus as the one who was actually doing the mighty works of healing and casting out devils. You see these UNBELIEVING JEWS were speaking AGAINST these WORKS of Almighty God the Father working IN or THROUGH his Son Jesus as being the WORKS of the DEVIL. They were DENYING that Jesus was the CHRIST the ANOINTED ONE of Almighty God. And as long as they REMAINED in their blasphemy of UNBELIEF their would NEVER be any FORGIVENESS for them and they would be in DANGER of the lake of fire IF SO BE that they REMAIN in their speaking UNBELIEF to DENY the works Jesus was doing to be of Almighty God. Jesus goes on to teach them about REPENTANCE in the following verses.) 33. Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. (In other words, REPENT and confess the sin of blasphemy and God WILL, without fail, FORGIVE you for blaspheming the Holy Spirit. There are NO unforgivable sins except for the sins that are NOT REPENTED of and confessed to God to ASK for His forgiveness) 34. O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, SPEAK good things? (Or words of FAITH BELIEVING that I am the Messiah by the WORKS that Almighty God is doing through me) For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37. For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words, you shall be condemned.” Or BECAUSE of your BLASPHEMOUS WORD you SPEAK AGAINST that Holy Spirit of Almighty God who is DWELLING in me, DENY that the Father has sent me to do his will, you shall be CONDEMNED by your very own words. But in the same manner if you REPENT of your UNBELIEF and you speak FAITH filled words, BELIEVING what you see IS, indeed, the Father doing in me, then you shall be justified by your WORDS of FAITH So once again, let me say this another way, immediately after Jesus WARNS these UNBELIEVERS about DENYING the power of the Holy Spirit working in him, then Jesus tells them to DECIDE or to make a DECISION by saying to them to EITHER REPENT of your UNBELIEF and BELIEVE that I am sent by Almighty God and FOLLOW my teachings. OR REMAIN in your SIN of UNBELIEF and be CONDEMNED by your very own words of BLASPHEMY that you speak against the Holy Spirit who DWELLS in me. For you see, it IS the Holy Spirit dwelling in me who is the one who is doing these mighty works of healing that you see me do. Jesus tells these same unbelieving Jews in another place that the Son can do NOTHING of HIMSELF and that it is Almighty God the FATHER dwelling IN the Son who is doing the WORKS. Now, I fully realize that these are not the EXACT words that Jesus is using, but the CONTEXT clearly teaches us that this is what Jesus is MEANING when he said. “Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.” In the ENTIRE CONTEXT of blaspheming the Holy Spirit, Jesus is talking TO the UNBELIEVING Jews who were LYING against the eternal Holy Spirit of Almighty God the Father, by saying that Jesus had a devil and that this was how Jesus was able to cast out devils by the prince of devils. They were DENYING that Jesus was sent by God. They were DENYING that the Holy Spirit of Almighty God was DWELLING IN Jesus and that Jesus was the ANOINTED ONE as the Scriptures prophesied would come to be the Messiah. In short, they were in UNBELIEF and so long as they REMAINED in their sin of UNBELIEF they would REMAIN CONDEMNED in their sins and be in DANGER of eternal judgment. To be cast into the lake of fire on the day of judgment and NEVER have FORGIVENESS of their sin of blasphemous UNBELIEF, except they REPENT and become a BELIEVER in Jesus as being the CHRIST. Jesus was saying that once a person DIES in their sin of UNBELIEF, then from that point on there is NO HOPE of FORGIVENESS for them. You see, an UNBELIEVER will NOT REPENT, because he or she does NOT BELIEVE that Jesus is the Messiah who died for their sins. The LITERAL translation of Matthew 12:31 is saying. “WHEREFORE, (Or for this REASON) I am saying to you that every sin and blasphemy shall BE BEING PARDONED mankind: but the blasphemy of the SPIRIT shall NO BE BEING PARDONED.” Now in the light of the WHOLE word of God the ONLY SIN that is NOT BEING PARDONED is the sin of UNBELIEF of NOT BELIEVING that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the whole world. The word of TRUTH teaches us that WHOSOEVER shall BELIEVE that Jesus is the Son of God, who died for their sins, shall NOT be CONDEMNED and WHOSOEVER shall NOT BELIEVE is condemned already BECAUSE they have NOT BELIEVED. There is nothing else that God can do to save those who REFUSE to BELIEVE that Jesus is the Son of God who died for their sins. And so long as they REMAIN in their sin of UNBELIEF and never CONFESS that they BELIEVE that Jesus died for THEIR sins and then REPENT of their sins. They shall REMAIN condemned and NEVER BEING pardoned of their BLASPHEMY of the Spirit of Almighty God and therefore in DANGER of the lake of fire as long as they REMAIN in their blasphemous sin of UNBELIEF. In the CONTEXT you may remember that these UNBELIEVING Jews asked Jesus for a SIGN to prove that he was sent by God and Jesus said that there would be but one SIGN and that sign would be the sign of Jonah being in the belly of the whale for three days and for three nights before Jonah was released from the belly of the whale or big fish. Jesus was speaking of his DEATH and RESURRECTION as being the SIGN that he is the MESSIAH, the CHOSEN ONE, which the Scriptures spoke of that would come to save the people from their sins. Jesus was talking about himself being the ATONEMENT or the PARDONING of ALL the sins of mankind, but then he added that there is ONE sin that shall NOT be PARDONED by his sacrifice of dying on the cross for the sins of mankind and that ONE sin that will never be forgiven is the sin of UNBELIEF. And the reason WHY God cannot forgive this sin is that Almighty God has already chosen, by speaking forth his WORD as the WAY for mankind to be saved is by BELIEVING the gospel of Jesus as being the CHRIST, the ANOINTED ONE sent by Almighty God himself to redeem mankind back to himself. So then, so long as you are a Christian, who DESIRES to please God by stop sinning, then you have NOT committed the so-called “UNPARDONABLE SIN”. Now if you are still in UNBELIEF and you are still yet FEARFUL of being lost, in that you THINK that you have offended or blasphemed the Holy Spirit and therefore you THINK that you may have committed the so-called “UNPARDONABLE SIN”. Then all you need to do is to ASK God for forgiveness and BELIEVE that he is faithful and just to forgive you of ALL your sin and CLEANSE you from ALL unrighteousness and you shall be made PERFECT once again in the eyes of Almighty God. You see dear child of God there have always been some Christians throughout the entire church age, where at times, Christians have said or are saying things in IGNORANCE that is NOT true about the Holy Spirit. I did this myself right after I was saved. Let me explain what I mean by this. I got saved in the Assemblies of God church and I was on fire with the love of Jesus and the word of God, but I still had RESERVATIONS about the Holy Spirit and speaking in other tongues. I remember saying to myself that I did not need all that Holy Ghost stuff and I left the church service when all the praying in other tongues began and I went out to my car to listen to some music and to wait for the prayer service to be over and for my wife to come out so that we could go home. When my wife came out she asked me why I left the prayer service. I told her that I did not need to be baptized or filled with the Holy Spirit and speak with other tongues, and she told me that I was wrong and that I did NEED the fullness of the Holy Spirit and speaking in other tongues to empower me to live my life for Jesus. It was her rock-solid and bold faith that led me in a six-month search for the TRUTH about the Holy Spirit and speaking in other tongues. Once I saw the TRUTH for MYSELF from God's WORD I was filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. Then a year or two later I overheard a Christian couple talking between themselves saying that they did NOT NEED all that Holy Ghost stuff and speaking in other tongues, and I CRINGED on the inside of myself with fear for them, saying to my self, NO! NO! You should not be saying such things SPEAKING AGAINST the Holy Spirit. I prayed immediately right there on the spot for God to forgive them saying, “O heavenly Father please forgive them for they know NOT what they are saying.” The Bible teaches us that we can ask for forgiveness for others so that God will open their eyes to the truth and they repent of their sin or unbelief once they see the truth for themselves. The Bible also teaches us that God winks at our sin that we commit in IGNORANCE giving us time to come to the knowledge of the truth and REPENT of our sins. All I am saying is that we are NOT to judge anyone BEFORE the time that God himself will judge them because there is always hope that they will REPENT of their sin BEFORE they die or BEFORE Jesus comes again. Certainly we are to OBSERVE the FRUIT that our fellow brother and sister in the Lord bear and when we find that they are living in sin we are to do our best to CONVERT that fallen brother or sister back to their walk with the Lord in righteousness by praying for them and PERSUADING them with the WORD of God showing them the error of their way. Now as I promised earlier in this study let us go back over Matthew 12:21-45, verse by verse to get a deeper understanding of what Jesus is saying. Matthew 12:21-42. “And in his name (Prophesying of the coming child to be born among men who would be the Messiah who was given the name Jesus) shall the Gentiles trust. (Keep in mind that Jesus is speaking to both the Jews and the Gentiles and that many of the Jews were in UNBELIEF, but the Gentiles BELIEVED and were healed. The Bible tells us that Jesus was not able to heal but a few sick people in his own hometown BECAUSE of THEIR UNBELIEF.) 22. Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. 23. And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?(You see many of the people did indeed BELIEVE that Jesus was the CHOSEN ONE that the Scriptures prophesied would come from the lineage of David, because of the WORKS they saw him do. They BELIEVED that ONLY a man with whom God was WITH could ever do such mighty works. They BELIEVED the Holy Spirit witnessing to them that Jesus was the MESSIAH.) 24. BUT when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow does not cast out devils but BY Beelzebub the prince of the devils. (These UNBELIEVING Pharisees were DENYING that Jesus was the son of David speaking of Jesus being the prophesied coming MESSIAH when they countered this statement of these others, who DID BELIEVE that Jesus was the CHRIST. They countered or spoke AGAINST the TRUTH by saying that Jesus did NOT cast out devils BY the ANOINTING of the Holy SPIRIT of Almighty God, but rather they FALSELY accused Jesus of casting out devils BY speaking BLASPHEMOUS words AGAINST the Holy Spirit saying that Jesus cast out devils BY the leader of all Devils, Beelzebub or Satan himself. They spoke a FALSEHOOD against Almighty God by DENYING or by NOT BELIEVING that it was the Holy Spirit of Almighty God himself that was DWELLING IN his Son Jesus who was doing the WORKS of casting out devils and healing the sick as his Son Jesus OBEYED what the Father was leading him to do and say.) 25. And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26. And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? (These two verses right here prove to ME that it is impossible for Almighty God himself to send sickness upon someone to supposedly teach them something and then turn around and heal them to receive glory unto himself because God would be casting out HIMSELF and therefore his kingdom would be DIVIDED. So whenever a well-meaning Christian speaks these kinds of lies of the devil saying things that it must not be God's will to heal or that God is trying to teach a person and that is why they are sick. Do NOT believe those lies of the devil. It is always God's will to heal and it is ALWAYS God's will to forgive us when we sin, but we must always REMAIN a BELIEVER and CONFESS and repent of our sins in order to be FORGIVEN of our sins.) 27. And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. (Here Jesus is saying that you believe in the prophets of the Old Testament that they cast out devils by the SPIRIT of God. So therefore if you REMAIN in your UNBELIEF that I am the one of whom the Scriptures speak then the prophets of old shall be your judge for they speak or prophesy of ME.) 28. But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come unto you. (Jesus is saying, but if you chose to BELIEVE that I am the ANOINTED ONE that I told you from the beginning when I stood up and read from Isaiah and told you that this Scripture is FULFILLED in your ears, then the kingdom has come unto YOU who BELIEVE.) 29. Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first binds the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. (This verse is an entire study in and of itself and there are different interpretations as to what this verse means, but in short to ME Jesus is saying HOW can any of YOU enter the kingdom of God to overcome the works of the devil until I suffer the cross and descend into the belly of the earth or the house of the strong one to destroy the works of the devil FIRST?) 30. He that is not with me is against me, and he that gathers not with me scatters abroad. (Jesus is saying that those who do not believe that he is the ANOINTED ONE are against him, and those who are not teaching that Jesus is the Son of God who died for their sins so that they too can BELIEVE then they are teaching lies to turn men away from believing in Jesus as the Messiah.) 31. Wherefore (Whenever you see the word “wherefore or therefore”, then substitute the words, “for this very REASON”) I say unto you, ALL manner of sin AND blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. (In Mark 3:30 we are told that the blasphemy of the Spirit was the Jews saying that Jesus cast out devils BY the prince of devils, or BECAUSE he has a UNCLEAN spirit. This is a LIE or something that DECEIVES the people from the TRUTH about Jesus being ANOINTED with the Holy Spirit of Almighty God the Father DWELLING IN his Son Jesus. So blasphemy is saying that which is NOT true about Almighty God the Father and more particularly in this case that Almighty God the Father was NOT in Jesus as the one who was casting out devils and healing the sick) 32. And whosoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaks against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. (Jesus is saying that people can say things that are not true about him and they would be forgiven, but if they say things against Almighty God the FATHER, then they shall not be forgiven them. To properly understand these words of Jesus you must know and understand that Jesus did NOT bear witness of HIMSELF, but rather Jesus came to show us the FATHER who was CONFIRMING his word with SIGNS following. So it was the WORKS that Almighty God was doing in his Son Jesus that these Jews were DENYING as being from Almighty God. Now the last part of this verse when viewed alone and apart from the WHOLE word of God may SEEM to be saying that there is NO forgiveness for whosoever who speaks against the Holy Spirit, but when we interpret this verse in the LIGHT of the whole word of God then, we know that Jesus was saying that those who speak against the Spirit are in DANGER of eternal judgment. So then, as we have already discussed, Jesus is WARNING those, who are in UNBELIEF, to turn from their unbelief and BELIEVE lest they REMAIN in UNBELIEF and suffer the eternal judgment of the lake of fire. Again please consider closely the very next verse that supports what I am saying) 33. Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. (In the book of Revelation 22:11-15 Jesus said behold I come QUICKLY in a flash of lightning, in the blink of an eye so therefore you will not have time to REPENT when I come again. Jesus also says let the righteous be righteous and let the unrighteous be unrighteous, which to ME means that whatever state we are IN when Jesus returns will be the state in which we shall be judged. Do NOT be the whosoever that does NOT BELIEVE unto the end to be cast out into outer darkness and suffer the eternal destruction in the lake of fire, but rather make the tree GOOD by accepting Jesus as your savior. REPENT of your sins and confess that Jesus is the Son of God who died for your sins and that God raised his Son from the dead giving us that promise of eternal life in the world to come.) 34. O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. (Please read the study called “THE POWER OF OUR WORDS!” for a deeper understanding of these verses.) 35. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. (The word “idle” means no producing. In other words, any speech that is AGAINST or contrary to God's word will NOT PRODUCE what God's word was sent to produce. For example, if Mary had not AGREED with the spoken word of Almighty God spoken to her by the angel Gabriel saying be it done unto me ACCORDING to your WORD, then the WORD of God would NOT have PRODUCED the seed of Jesus in the womb of Mary to be born. Your WORDS are more powerful than you can imagine. You shall be judged by the WORDS you speak. Your WORDS will produce good things and your WORDS will allow evil things to be brought forth. Again, please read the study “THE POWER OF OUR WORDS!” for a deeper understanding of speaking RIGHT WORDS. Also, by not speaking words to take a stand then one remains IDLE to their hearing of the gospel. And thus, by their IDLENESS of not being a DOER of the word to CONFESS what they believe, then for their IDLENESS of NOT confessing that Jesus is the Son of God who died for their sin, they shall be judged by their idle words. An idle word is a NEGATIVE word that produces negative results. And NO word can also produce negative results) 37. For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned. (If a person SAYS that they do NOT BELIEVE in God and they DIE in that state of UNBELIEF then they shall be JUDGED ACCORDING to their OWN words along with the WORD of Jesus or the word of God, the Holy Bible. In the same way, if a person CONFESSES that they BELIEVE that Jesus died for their sins and they REPENT of their sins then all their past sins shall be pardoned and never held against them. They will be JUDGED by their GOOD WORDS of BELIEVING in God's word. And if a person says NOTHING or does NOTHING to show that they BELIEVE, then they shall be judged by the IDLE and unspoken word. The ONLY way to be saved is to believe and CONFESS that Jesus is the Son of God who died for your sins to become a DOER of the word of God by walking in obedience to God and his word.) 38. Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from you. 39. But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40. For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly (Or like unto Jonah being in the belly of the whale); so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. (The Bible teaches us that Jesus DESCENDED into the heart of the earth where the dead are being held until the Day of Judgment. Jesus went down to this prison or this holding place to preach to the spirits so that they could be saved like men yet living on the earth. Jesus also went to take back the keys of death, hell, and the grave from Satan and to DESTROY the works of the devil. Please read the study “WHAT AND WHERE IS PARADISE?”) 41. The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: BECAUSE they REPENTED at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. 42. The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to HEAR the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. (In other words, Jesus is saying you believe in Solomon so believe my words for the WORKS you see me do through the anointing of the Holy Spirit of Almighty God. Jesus is directing these words to UNBELIEVERS who will NOT BELIEVE and REPENT at his preaching and teaching of God's word. Jesus is saying that they BELIEVE God's word about these other great men who were used by God but yet they would NOT BELIEVE that Jesus was GREATER than all the prophets of old. They would NOT BELIEVE that Jesus is the PROMISED MESSIAH spoken of in the Scriptures.)” Jesus said to some of these same Jews that IF they did NOT BELIEVE that he is the ANOINTED one then they would die in their sins. Please read John 8:24 that if we did NOT BELIEVE that he was the Son of God whom his God and Father ANOINTED with his Holy Spirit to empower his Son to do the WORKS that he sent his Son to do including to die of the cross for not only our sins but the sins of the WHOLE world, then those UNBELIEVERS would DIE in their sins. Please read the entire study covering this highly controversial verse called “DOES JOHN 8:24 Teach that Jesus is THE GREAT I AM?”, but for now here is a small excerpt from that in-depth study in God's word. John 8:24,25. “I said THEREFORE unto you (Speaking of verse 21), that you shall die in your sins: for if you believe NOT that I am HE, you shall die in your sins. (This verse 24 is the verse in question that is used by those who teach the doctrine of the trinity to DOGMATICALLY teach and DEMAND that if you do NOT believe that Jesus is saying that he is the great I AM, the Almighty God himself, then you shall die in your sins and you shall NOT be saved, UNLESS you recant and believe that Jesus is THE ALMIGHTY God himself. Again they argue the word “he” is NOT in the original Greek. But as we have just learned the UNDERSTOOD the pronoun “he” is indeed in the text much like the pronoun “you” is often left out of a particular sentence but the context clearly reveals to us that the subject under discussion is the UNDERSTOOD YOU. So, in the same way, the “HE” here is clearly UNDERSTOOD. This is why the translators added the word “he” because those who understand the original Greek text clearly UNDERSTAND that the pronoun “he” is clearly UNDERSTOOD. But WHO is Jesus saying that he IS? We must read the CONTEXT and then COMPARE Scripture with Scripture in order to learn WHO Jesus is TRULY saying that he IS. So then, let us continue reading the CONTEXT. And then we will compare Scripture with Scripture after we finish reading the context.) 25. Then said they unto him, WHO ARE YOU? (In other words, the Jews were asking Jesus, I am he WHO? WHAT do you MEAN, when you say I AM HE? WHO are you saying that you are when you say I AM HE. Also please notice that these Jews did NOT understand these words of Jesus to mean that Jesus was saying that he himself is the great I AM the ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God, because if Jesus were truly saying that he is the ALMIGHTY God, then these Jews would have stoned Jesus on the spot. The TRUTH of the matter is that these Jews understood these words of Jesus to mean exactly what Jesus was saying, which is simply “I am he”. Again these Jews thought to themselves, “he WHO?” so they asked Jesus “WHO are YOU?”) And Jesus said unto them, Even the SAME that I said unto you from the BEGINNING (There is your answer to WHO Jesus was TRULY saying that he IS. Jesus is saying I am the SAME that I told you in the BEGINNING. So then, all we need to know is to go back to the BEGINNING of the ministry of Jesus when he first started his ministry in order to learn WHO Jesus is TRULY saying that he IS. We find in the Gospel of Luke chapter 4 that Jesus said that he was the ANOINTED ONE of Almighty God the Father that was SENT by the Father the preach the gospel of salvation.)” Please read Luke 4:16-22, which says. “And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias (Isaiah). And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has ANOINTED me (Referring to Almighty God as the one who has empowered me with his Holy Spirit who DWELLS IN me) to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21. And he began to say unto them, THIS DAY is this scripture FULFILLED in your ears. (Jesus is telling these Jews and us that he is the ANOINTED ONE who was prophesied to come. Jesus was saying to us, I am he, the CHRIST, the ANOINTED ONE that the Scripture foretold would come. Jesus never once ever claimed that he himself is the ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God himself. That idea is only the INTERPRETATION that man has forced these verses to mean, which contradict many other parts of God's word.) 22. And all bare him witness and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?” The Jews HEARD the words of Jesus saying that he was the ANOINTED ONE which was prophesied to come, but they could not comprehend how the son of Joseph could be the Messiah. They were in UNBELIEF and all through his ministry, Jesus tried and tried to CONVINCE the Jews that he was their Messiah the CHRIST, the ANOINTED ONE that the Scriptures prophesied to come to save the people from their sins. Jesus died to pardon ALL manner of sin and blasphemy, and the ONLY sin that shall NOT be forgiven is the sin of UNBELIEF!
