F-5. What Does GIFT of Eternal Life TRULY Mean?

SPELLING EDITED

F-5. What Does The GIFT of Eternal Life TRULY Mean?

There is a controversy among Christians where some Christians believe and teach that the gift of eternal life can be LOST while other Christians believe and teach that the gift of eternal life can NEVER be lost no matter what. And both groups of Christians stand FIRM in what they believe and teach on this subject. So then, what is the sound Biblical answer to this question?

First of all, we must come to understand the TRUE meaning of the term “GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE”. We get this term from Romans 6:23.

Romans 6:23.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the GIFT of God is ETERNAL LIFE through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

So then, the GIFT of God is ETERNAL LIFE. But what does that TRULY mean? Does it mean that every single human being RECEIVES eternal life automatically without doing anything? Or does it mean that God has provided a WAY in which every single human being could receive eternal life based upon HIS CONDITIONS?

Most Christians will agree that there are CONDITIONS that MUST be met before a person can receive the GIFT of eternal life. So what are those conditions? Well, we all agree that a person's FAITH in the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ is how we RECEIVE the GIFT of eternal life.

But what HAPPENS when we BELIEVE the gospel of Jesus Christ? What I mean by this is that we were all DEAD in our SINS before we came to the knowledge of the truth to believe in Jesus as the SACRIFICE for us to be FORGIVEN of our sins.

Please read Colossians 2:13.

“And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having FORGIVEN you all trespasses;”

So what happens to those sins when we first believed in Jesus? We were DEAD in our sins BEFORE we repented and confessed our sins. But AFTER we repented and confessed our sins what happened?

The answer is that we were FORGIVEN of all our past sins the very moment that we first believed in Jesus. God CLEANSED us of all our sins and he made us PERFECT in his eyes just as if we had never sinned. God declared us to be RIGHTEOUS even thou we did not deserve or EARN to be forgiven of our sins. It was God who CHOSE to love us WHILE we were YET still DEAD in our sins. Jesus died on the cross WHILE we were still DEAD in our sins. The PLAN of salvation was God’s idea and not our own idea. It was his love for us for HIM to offer us his salvation IN his Son, Jesus, which is the FORGIVENESS of our sins to be placed in a RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with him.

So then, the free gift of eternal life means to be FORGIVEN freely without costing us anything. The only things that God REQUIRES for us to RECEIVE his free gift of FORGIVENESS is our BELIEVING and obeying the true gospel of Jesus Christ to REPENT of our sins and confess our FAITH IN Jesus. Some Christians get offended or upset when I use the word OBEYING the gospel. But these are not my own words. I am simply stating what the Bible ITSELF states.

Please read Romans 6:17.

“But God be thanked, that you were the servants of sin, (Or you were DEAD in your sins) but you have OBEYED from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.”

Also, the confessing of sins does not mean to name each and every sin that we have committed. Confessing our sins means that we are to say out loud to God that we have sinned. So coming to the knowledge of the truth to ADMIT that you have sinned and that you are genuinely sorry for sinning is having a heart of repentance and a desire to do God’s will to stop sinning. Then CONFESSION is made UNTO salvation or unto being FORGIVEN of our sins.

Please read Romans 10:8-17.

“But what says it? The word is nigh you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; (When we hear the true gospel of Jesus Christ and we RECEIVE the gospel then faith arises in our heart to repent and confess that we are GUILTY and worthy of death. There also arises in our hearts the desire to be FORGIVEN of our sins. And there is a knowing in our heart that Jesus is the ATONEMENT or the SACRIFICE for our sins)

9.  That IF you shall CONFESS with your mouth the Lord Jesus, AND (IF you) shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.

10.  For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; (Or with the heart man believes unto the RECEIVING of the FORGIVENESS of their sins) and with the mouth confession is made UNTO salvation. (Or unto the actually RECEIVING of God's GIFT of FORGIVENESS of all our sins)

11.  For the scripture says, Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.

12. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?  (So then, it is by the foolishness of the preaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ that Almighty God himself chose to save ONLY those who BELIEVE and OBEY the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ) And how shall they hear (The TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ) without a preacher?

13.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (So a person must ANSWER the calling of the gospel to be saved by BELIEVING the Gospel of salvation before they are saved)

14.  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

15.  And how shall they preach, except they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

16.  But they have not all OBEYED the gospel. For Esaias says, Lord, who has believed our report?

17.  So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing (Or true sound Biblical understanding of the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ comes) by the word of God.”

So ask yourself the question, “Were you STILL ashamed of your sin AFTER you truly understood the true gospel of Jesus Christ and OBEYED the gospel to REPENT and CONFESS your sins?” What I mean by this is, did that feeling of being ashamed of your sins, leave you AFTER you BELIEVED the gospel of Jesus Christ in your heart and then you OBEYED the gospel to repent and confess your sorrow and repentance to God? I would say that most Christians would agree that the feeling of being ASHAMED was replaced with a feeling of GRATITUDE and THANKFULNESS for God FORGIVING you of your sins because you truly believed with all your heart the LOVE of God’s GIFT of forgiveness. And you were also filled with gratitude for the SACRIFICE that Jesus endured on the cross for you.

Now, with all of this in mind, I want you to start thinking in your mind that the gift of eternal life is the same as saying the GIFT of being FORGIVEN of all your sins. For you see, WITHOUT being FORGIVEN of all your past sins then you would still yet be DEAD in your sins. And being dead in your sins means that you do NOT have the gift of eternal life abiding or REMAINING in you because the WAGES of sin is DEATH. Remember that Romans 6:23 is making a COMPARISON between eternal death and eternal life. And eternal death is EARNED but eternal life or the FORGIVENESS of sin is the GIFT of God that cannot be EARNED. For you see, it was God's choice to offer his FORGIVENESS to all of mankind. But it is up to each individual to decide to RECEIVE his so great a GIFT of forgiveness or to reject his gift of salvation by continuing to live after the lust of our flesh.

Read Romans 6:23 again.

“For (Or BECAUSE) the WAGES of sin is DEATH (Speaking of the second death in the lake of fire which will be an eternal death never to rise again); but the gift of God is eternal life (Or the GIFT of FORGIVENESS is) through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

For without the forgiveness of sins there is no eternal life. So again, HOW do we RECEIVE the gift of eternal life? We BELIEVE! And what happens when we believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God who SACRIFICED his innocent life to die for our sins? God FORGIVES us of all our past sins and we have the promise of eternal life ABIDING IN us. And what was REQUIRED of us in order for us to be FORGIVEN? We had to believe and OBEY the gospel of Jesus Christ to REPENT and CONFESS our sins.

Now some Christians get offended or upset when I use the words forgiven of all our PAST sins. But again, these are not my own words. I am simply stating what the Bible itself states.

Please read Romans 3:23-28.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

24.  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:(Or being FORGIVEN freely by his grace to offer us his so great a salvation THROUGH the PRICE of the SACRIFICE on the cross paid by Jesus Christ)

25.  Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation (Or as the atonement or as the ONLY acceptable SACRIFICE to receive FORGIVENESS of sins that God will accept) through faith IN his BLOOD, (For without the shedding of blood there is no FORGIVENESS of sins. See Hebrews 9:22) to declare his righteousness for the remission (Or for the FORGIVENESS) of sins that are PAST, through the forbearance of God;

26.  To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus. (So then, it was God alone who chose that HE would FORGIVE all of whosoever BELIEVES in the WAY of salvation that HE has chosen from before the foundation of the world)

27.  Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of FAITH. (IN the shed BLOOD of Jesus as the ONLY sacrifice that God will accept to FORGIVE us of our PAST sins. Please keep in mind that any future sin will no longer be in the future AFTER they are committed. They will be PAST sins after they are committed. And a present sin that is still presently BEING committed. So they are NOT repented of or confessed as yet. So it is only our PAST sins that are repented of and confessed that God forgives. So if we do NOT repent and confess our NEW sins then they will NOT be FORGIVEN. Please understand that forgiveness is always available to be received and that God is patiently waiting for us to BELIEVE the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ. And BELIEVING the gospel of Jesus Christ means to obey the gospel to repent and confess our sins)

28.  Therefore, we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.”

The phrase “without the deeds of the law” is speaking of the WORKS of the Law of Moses contained in ORDINANCES. And in this case, it is referring to the ORDINANCE of animal sacrifices or the shedding of ANIMAL blood for the remission or the forgiveness of sins.

So then, can the gift of FORGIVENESS never be LOST because forgiveness is always readily available to be RECEIVED if we sin after we first believed? What I mean by this is will God ever STOP FORGIVING sins? In other words, can the GIFT of God's WILLINGNESS to FORGIVE our sin ever be LOST. Or does God’s GIFT for FORGIVENESS of sin remain available to all of mankind until the final Day of Judgment at the end of the Millennium? The answer to this question is that God is always faithful and just to FORGIVE us all our sin IF we are obedient to the gospel of Jesus Christ to REPENT and CONFESS our new sins that we commit by disobeying the commandments of Jesus.

Please read 1 John 1:5-10.

“This then is the message (Or the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ) which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6.  If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and DO not the truth: (Or if we say that we are Christians and walk in sin we lie and do not OBEY the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ)

7  But IF we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin. (So then, the very moment we are first saved we are made PERFECT in the eyes of God. We are made holy and righteous the very moment that we believe and obey the gospel of Jesus Christ to repent and confess of sins. And then, as long as we OBEY the commandments of Jesus and do not sin then we remain PERFECT in the eyes of Almighty God. We remain FORGIVEN of all our past sins because we have NO NEW sins. We remain holy and righteous until we sin again.)

8.  If we say that we have no sin, (When the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin. And if we say that we are basically good people and not like other people that are evil people and try to reason away our sin) we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (BUT)

9.  IF we confess our sins, he is FAITHFUL and just to FORGIVE us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10.  If we say that we have not sinned, (Or if we try and reason away our sins) we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

For some people, they really have a hard time ASKING to be forgiven. Sometimes it may be pride. Sometimes they may be too ashamed. And at other times they simply try and reason it away by CLAIMING that they do NOT have to repent and confess their sins. They say that God forgave ALL their sins when they first believed and that all means all. Thus they wrongly conclude and CLAIM that all their sins, past present, and future sins, are ALREADY forgiven. And, therefore, they BOAST that they do not have to confess ANY sin after they were first saved because ALL their sins, past, present, and future have already been forgiven when they first became a Christian.

So let us take a closer look at their INTERPRETATION of being SAVED.

Does the Bible itself teach us that we ARE ETERNALLY SAVED and thus we can never lose our salvation no matter what we do or do not do?

Or does the Bible itself actually teach us that we are BEING saved?

We have already learned that the AVAILABILITY to RECEIVE the gift of God’s FORGIVENESS from sin can never be lost. But that does NOT mean that our state of being PERFECT in the eyes of God cannot be LOST by our DISOBEYING the commandments of Jesus.

Now, some may lose SIGHT of this truth of God’s love and faithfulness to always forgive those who repent and confess their sins but God himself will not ever stop or end the gospel of Jesus Christ until the final Day of Judgment at the end of the Millennium. In other words, anyone who loses the HOPE of God forgiving them can always be restored to saving FAITH to once again believe in the faithfulness of God to always forgive those who repent and confess their sins. So in that light or in this understanding that FORGIVENESS equals to being saved and being saved equals eternal life, then we who are found in the state of being PERFECT when we die or when Jesus returns will, without fail, RECEIVE the GIFT of eternal life in the world to come at the coming of Jesus. Keep in mind that being PERFECT simply means BEING IN the state of FORGIVENESS. And at the same time being in the state of sinning and UNFORGIVEN sin is no longer being in a RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with God. And the ONLY WAY to be restored to a right relationship with God is to REPENT and confess our sins each and every time we sin. For you see, we do not actually RECEIVE the gift of eternal life UNTIL the coming of Jesus.

Please read Revelation 20:4-6.

“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and THEY lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (So then, WHO will live and reign with Jesus in the world to come? Will the Christians who RECEIVE the mark of the beast rule and reign with Jesus? Or will the Christians who OVERCOME by rejecting the mark of the beast rule and reign with Jesus during the Millennium? Obviously, the correct answer is that ONLY those of us who OVERCOME will rule and reign with Jesus for 1000 years. Now ask your self the question. Is it IMPOSSIBLE for a true born-again Christian to become DECEIVED to TAKE the mark of the beast? Or is it POSSIBLE for anyone of us to become deceived and TAKE the mark of the beast? Again, the correct answer is that anyone of us can become deceived or be overcome to take the mark of the beast. And we all agree that anyone who takes the mark of the beast will NOT receive eternal life to live and reign with Jesus in the world to come. Therefore, this is one way that it is possible for a true born-again Christian to lose their salvation. For you see, ONLY those found faithful to NOT take the mark of the beast will be resurrected in the first resurrection to live and reign with Jesus for 1000 years)

5.  But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6.  Blessed and holy is he that has part in the FIRST resurrection: on such the second death has no power, (So then, ONLY the good and faithful Christians who do not take the mark of the beast will be resurrected and changed from being mortal to being given immortality or eternal life so that the second death will have no more power over them) but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”

And that means that UNTIL the FIRST resurrection, which takes place AT the coming of Jesus, the second death still yet has the POTENTIAL power over every single human being whether they are INITIALLY saved or unsaved. And the reason why I say this is that any unsaved person can come to the knowledge of the truth to be saved and to endure unto the end to stay saved. And at the same time, any true born-again Christian who has initially been saved can become deceived to fall away from God and die in their sins. Do not shut me down simply because you may disagree with what I am teaching you. You may think that you are above ever being deceived. And if this is your attitude then you are already deceived.

Please read Hebrews 3:12-14.

Take HEED, BRETHREN (Or take HEED every truly born-again Christian), lest there be in ANY of YOU an evil heart of unbelief, in DEPARTING from the living God.

13.  But EXHORT one another DAILY, while it is called Today; lest ANY OF YOU be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

14.  FOR (Or BECAUSE) we are made partakers of Christ IF we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end;”

The Bible teaches us that the deeds or the works of the flesh are a sin. And true REPENTANCE means to no longer SERVE those DEAD works.

Please read Hebrews 6:1.

“Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto PERFECTION; not laying again the foundation of REPENTANCE from dead works, and of faith toward God,”

Now read Hebrews 9:14.

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works TO SERVE the living God?”

DEAD works are SIN because there is no good fruit to be received from committing sin. The only fruit of sin is DEATH. Please read the CONTEXT of Romans 6:23 by reading Romans 6:20-23.

Romans 6:20-23.

“For when you were the servants of sin, you were free from righteousness. (And the reverse of this is also true. In other words, when, while, or during the process of OBEYING the commandments of Jesus to serving God by walking in LOVE and RIGHTEOUSNESS then we are NOT sinning. But while we are living in SIN)

21.  What fruit (Or what reward) had you then in those things whereof you are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

22.  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, you have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. (Or at the end of your good and faithful service to God to walk in righteousness you shall receive the FRUIT or the reward of OBEDIENCE to the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ which is eternal life in the world to come to rule and reign with Jesus during the Millennium)

23. FOR (Or BECAUSE) the wages of sin is death; (Or BECAUSE you will have NO fruit or reward for serving sin except the second death in the lake of fire on the final Day of Judgment) BUT the gift of God (Or but the gift of God's FORGIVENESS is waiting to be received by OBEYING the true Gospel of Jesus Christ unto the END. And by obeying the true gospel unto the END ) is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Jesus said that if we love him then we will OBEY his COMMANDMENTS. Jesus also said in Revelation 22:14,15 that ONLY those who OBEY his commandments will have the right to eat of the tree of eternal life in the world to come.

Paul teaches us in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 that the unrighteous will NOT INHERIT the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11.

Know you not that the unrighteous shall NOT inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

10.  Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God

11.  And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

But when we commit NEW sins after we have been washed, sanctified, and justified by the grace of God through FAITH we become clothed with DIRTY garments that must be washed again by the blood of Jesus. Please read Revelation 3:1-6 where Jesus is WARNING the church that there will be some who say that they are alive but in truth they are DEAD. Jesus is warning them to REPENT because he has not found their WORKS to be perfect. And if they do NOT repent of their dead works Jesus will BLOT their name out of the book of life.

Revelation 3:1-6.

And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know your WORKS, that you have a name that you live, and are dead. (To ME, this is the description of the doctrine of eternal security or the once saved always saved doctrine that wrongly teaches that you can never lose your salvation no matter what you do or do not do.)

2.  Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found your WORKS perfect before God

3.  Remember therefore how you have received and heard, (How did you first RECEIVE the GIFT of FORGIVENESS of all your past sins? Did you do NOTHING? Or did you BELIEVE the gospel of Jesus Christ to CALL upon the name of the Lord to be saved?) and hold fast, and repent. If therefore you shall not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, (This means that if we do NOT watch to keep sin out of our lives they Jesus has no choice but to come upon the disobedient to the gospel with the WRATH of God) and you shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

4.  You have a few names even in Sardis which have NOT DEFILED their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are WORTHY. (And this means that Christians who HAVE DEFILED their garment by living in SIN and who refuse to REPENT and confess their sins will NOT be found WORTHY to receive eternal life in the world to come)

5.  He that OVERCOMES, the SAME shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will NOT BLOT OUT his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. (And the opposite of this is equally true. So be WARNED that those Christians who do NOT OVERCOME the SAME shall NOT be found worthy to be clothed in white robes of righteousness and Jesus WILL INDEED BLOT OUT the name from the book of life. So why would any Christians harden their heart to NOT repent and confess their NEW sins after they are initially saved when it is such an EASY work of OBEDIENCE to the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ?)

6.  He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches.

And the Apostle James teaches us that WITHOUT WORKS our faith is DEAD.

Please read James 2:14-26.

What does it profit, my brethren, though a man say he has faith, and have NOT works? Can faith save him?

15.  If a brother or sister be naked and destitute of daily food,

16.  And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be you warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; What does it profit?

17.  Even so, (Or in a like manner) faith, if it has NOT works, is dead, being alone.

18.  Yea, a man may say, You have faith, and I have works: show me your faith without your works (Some Christians profess that they have faith but in their dead works they deny Jesus. Please read Titus 1:16.“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.” So without good works of righteousness, they are known by the FRUITS they bear. So you either have good works or you have DEAD works. So what James is saying is that FAITH having the ABSENCE of walking in works of righteousness to NOT sin is DEAD being ALONE), and I will show you my faith BY my works.

19.  You believe that there is one God; you doest well: (But faith ALONE being WITHOUT good works of walking in righteousness is DEAD. For you see,) the devils also believe, and tremble.

20.  But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

21.  Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? (Abraham BELIEVED God's PROMISE to make him the father of many nations. And Abraham showed his faith BY his WORKS to OBEY God to offer up his ONLY BEGOTTEN son)

22.  See you how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

23.  And the scripture was fulfilled which says, Abraham believed God (In that he believed the PROMISE of God to make him the father of many nations and thus he OBEYED God to offer up his only begotten son Isaac), and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. (For you see, had Abraham not truly believed he would have DISOBEDIED God and NOT offered up his only begotten son Isaac. He would have questioned God and doubted how will God keep his promise if I offer up my only begotten son? But Abraham BELIEVED God to not doubt and OBEY him)

24.  You see then how that by works a man is justified, and NOT by faith ONLY (Or NOT by faith ALONE as some claim).

25.  Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers and had sent them out another way?

26.  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

Can you not see that AFTER we are INITIALLY saved we are called to serve God in RIGHTEOUSNESS? Can you not see that we are saved to be set FREE from sin and we are no longer under the bondage of SIN? Can you not see that sin has no more dominion over us? Can you not see that there is a WALK of FAITH after we are INITIALLY saved and our WALK of faith will DETERMINE whether or not we will RECEIVE eternal life in the world to come? Can you not see that there are THREE STEPS to our BEING saved?

Step #1.

First, we hear the gospel, then we repent of our sins, and then we confess our faith in Jesus that we believe that Jesus suffered and died on the cross for our sins and that God raised him from the dead after three days.

And we OBEY the true gospel of Jesus Christ to repent and confess that we were a sinner and ask his forgiveness then God FORGIVES us of all our PAST sins and we are placed in a RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with him. That is what the Greek word “SOZO” means. Yes, it means SAVED but it also means to be placed in the right relationship with Almighty God.

The very moment that we believe and obey this first step of the gospel of Jesus Christ God CLEANSES our temple and gives us an earnest of his Holy Spirit to DWELL IN us. Then begins step #2.

Step #2.

After we are INITIALLY saved by being FORGIVEN of all our past sins so that God can EMPOWER us with his Holy Spirit dwelling in us we BEGIN our WALK of FAITH to SERVE God in RIGHTEOUSNESS. This second step of our BEING saved continues until the END. The end means either until we die physically or Jesus returns, whichever comes first.

And this SECOND step of our BEING saved DETERMINES whether or not we will RECEIVE eternal life in the world to come or NOT receive eternal life in the world to come.

Step #3.

Step #3 is the actual RECEIVING our eternal life in the world to come which is the END of our salvation. Or our NOT receiving the END of our salvation which would have been eternal life in the world to come if our WORKS are judged to be UNWORTHY by Jesus at his coming.

Now, some Christians really get bent out of shape when they hear me say that we shall be JUDGED BY our WORKS. But again, these are NOT my OWN words. They are the very words of Jesus himself in Revelation chapter 3 and in Revelation 20:13-15.

We all agree, that our receiving FORGIVENESS of sin is CONDITIONAL. And that condition is that we MUST BELIEVE and OBEY the true gospel of Jesus Christ to REPENT and CONFESS our sins in order to be FORGIVEN all our sins.

And like it or not, the second step of our BEING saved is ALSO CONDITIONAL. And it is the SAME condition as step #1, our initially being saved. For you see, when we sin AFTER we are initially saved we MUST OBEY the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ to REPENT and CONFESS those NEW sins in order to be FORGIVEN of all our NEW sins. And IF we are found faithful to BELIEVE and OBEY the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ all the way to the END of our life or until Jesus returns, whichever comes first, then we WILL be accounted worthy to receive eternal life AT the coming of Jesus. For you see, ever time we OBEY the true gospel of Jesus Christ to REPENT and CONFESS our sin God is always faithful to FORGIVE us of all our sin and cleanse us from ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS to make us PERFECT once again.

So be you PERFECT even as your Father in Heaven is PERFECT by KEEPING sin out of your life by first OBEYING the MORAL commandments of God, And then IF you sin OBEY the true gospel of Jesus Christ by REPENTING and CONFESSING your sin to be restored to PERFECTION in the eyes of God to be WITHOUT sin.

God knows your HEARTS desire to NOT sin. So keep your heart PURE by repenting quickly. Do not argue with the Holy Spirit. Do not try to reason away your sin. OBEY the Holy Spirit and CONFESS your sin asking God to forgive you and to HELP you overcome sin in your life.

Please read the studies HOW TO LIVE YOUR LIFE FREE FROM SIN!” and “CAN CHRISTIANS BE PERFECT?”

Also, I implore those of you who sincerely believe that you can never lose your salvation no matter what you do or do not do to read all the studies under the heading >>>CAN WE LOSE ETERNAL LIFE?<<< and >>>IS CALVINISM BIBLICAL?<<<
