V-19. WHAT DOES HEBREWS 13:8 TRULY MEAN?

Does Hebrews 13:8 prove the doctrine of the Trinity? Does Hebrews 13:8 teach us that Jesus pre-existed as God the Son, the second person of a Trinity Godhead? Does Hebrews 13:8 imply that Jesus was God the Son in ETERNITY PAST, today, and forever? Let us read Hebrews 13:8 out of its context first and then we will read it in its CONTEXT to determine its true meaning.

Hebrews 13:8.

“Jesus Christ the SAME yesterday, and today, and forever.”

Now, Trinitarians INTERPRET this verse to mean that Jesus PRE-EXISTED in eternity past as God the Son without beginning, that Jesus existed as God the Son during the days of his ministry on the earth being fully God the Son and fully a human being at the same time, and that Jesus will continue to exist as God the Son the second person of a Godhead Trinity God forever. In other words, according to Trinitarian Christians, Jesus was the one and only true Almighty God Yahweh himself yesterday in eternity past, Jesus was the one and only true Almighty God Yahweh himself during the days of his ministry and fully man at the same time, and that Jesus will forever be the one and only true Almighty God Yahweh himself.

But what does the Bible ITSELF teach us that this verse means in the LIGHT of its CONTEXT?

First of all, let us take a look at what this verse does NOT state as a FACT with no interpretation needed.

#1. Hebrews 13:8 does NOT state as a FACT that Jesus Christ has the same nature in eternity past.

#2. Hebrews 13:8 does NOT state as a FACT that yesterday means eternity past.

#3. Hebrews 13:8 does NOT state as a FACT that Jesus is Yahweh himself or that Jesus is God the Son.

In other words, what ANYONE says that Hebrews 13:8 means, then KNOW that it is just an INTERPRETATION. And as I have said many times, any interpretation that a person concludes that a particular verse means, then that INTERPRETATION must AGREE with every other verse in the Bible. In other words, Trinitarians can NOT use Hebrews 13:8 to prove that Jesus pre-existed as God the Son in eternity past because this verse does NOT specifically STATE as a FACT that Jesus is God the Son in eternity past, today, and forever. That is just a Trinitarian INTERPRETATION of Hebrews 13:8.

Now, let us look at what the CONTEXT teaches us. Hebrews chapter 13 starts off teaching us to CONTINUE to walk in LOVE as the very first disciples of Jesus had been taught from the very beginning of the church age. In other words, these verses in Hebrews 13:1-9 are about the TEACHINGS of Jesus being the SAME yesterday, today, and in the ages to come.

Please take a moment and read the whole chapter on your own. For now, I will simply quote Hebrews 13:7-9 and then we will widen the context a little at a time.

Hebrews 13:7-9.

“Remember them which have the rule over you (Or remember what you have been taught by those who are leading and teaching you the true Gospel of Jesus Christ), who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose FAITH FOLLOW, considering the end of their conversation. (In other words, FOLLOW what they have TAUGHT you about Jesus and ABOUT what Jesus and his Apostles taught. BUT at the same time be sure that they do NOT teach anything that the Apostles of Jesus have NOT taught. For you see,)

8. Jesus Christ the SAME yesterday, and today, and forever. (In other words, the TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ is the SAME yesterday, today, and for the ages to come. Or the DOCTRINE of Christ is the SAME. Or the DOCTRINE of the ANOINTING is the SAME yesterday, today, and in the ages to come)

9. Be NOT carried about with divers and STRANGE DOCTRINES. For it is a good thing that the heart is established with GRACE; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.”

So then, the immediate CONTEXT is speaking about DOCTRINES. And more particularly it is teaching about the doctrine of GRACE or the UNCHANGING DOCTRINE of Jesus THE Christ that remains the SAME. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the SAME yesterday, today, and for the age to come. The entire book of Hebrews is directed toward the Judaizing Christians that were turning to the Law of Moses to be saved. And the Judaizing Jewish Christians were preaching ANOTHER Jesus or a DIFFERENT Jesus from what the Apostles of Jesus Christ are teaching.

Please read 2 Corinthians 11:3,4.

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtleness, so your minds should be corrupted from the SIMPLICITY that is IN Christ.

4. For if he that comes preaches another Jesus, whom WE have NOT preached, or if you receive another spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel, (Or STRANGE DOCTRINES) which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him.”

Now, Trinitarian Christians will INTERPRET this passage of Scripture to mean that if anyone preaches anything BUT a Trinitarian Jesus then THEY have been DECEIVED and THEY are preaching a DIFFERENT Jesus. But that is NOT what the context of this passage of Scripture or the passage of Scripture in Hebrews chapter 13 is teaching us. For you see, BOTH of these passages of Scripture are directed towards the Judaizing Jewish Christians who were subverting Gentile Christians to DEPART from the SIMPLICITY of the Gospel of GRACE of Jesus Christ to keep the Law of Moses to be saved.

So again, the immediate context of Hebrews 13:8 is speaking of the teaching of the FAITH IN Jesus Christ being the SAME yesterday, today and in the ages to come. And the wider context of Hebrews 1:8 is speaking about Jesus being our HIGH PRIEST who makes intercession for us as our helper. And Jesus did not become our High priest or our mediator or our helper until AFTER the cross. Jesus was tempted in all points like as we are tempted without ever giving in to those temptations. And, therefore, Jesus is able to help us when we are tempted.

But before we expand the context to the other chapters of Hebrews let us read the slightly wide context first. And as you read the slightly larger context please notice that Jesus is referred to as being Lord and Yahweh is referred to by the title of God.

Please read Hebrews 13:1-16.

“Let brotherly love continue.

2. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

3. Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

4. Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. (It is Almighty God the FATHER who will judge the world BY the MAN Jesus Christ according to Acts 17:29-31. “Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

30. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: 31. Because he (Referring to Almighty God the Father who alone is the Godhead) has appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness BY that MAN whom he has ordained; whereof he has given ASSURANCE unto all men, IN THAT  he has raised him from the dead.” It was WHEN Almighty God the Father raised the Son of man Jesus from the dead that Jesus was DECLARED to be the SON OF God with ASSURANCE)

5. Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have: for HE has said (Speaking of Yahweh, Almighty God the Father has prophesied saying), I will never leave you, nor forsake you. (In Isaiah 41:10 we read where Yahweh prophesied that he would help the children of Israel WITH his RIGHT HAND of RIGHTEOUSNESS which is a prophecy of Yahweh’s Messiah whom we know to be our Lord Jesus Christ. Please read Isaiah 41:10. “Fear you not; for I am with you: be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yea, I will help you; yea, I will uphold you WITH the right hand of my righteousness.”)

6. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (And Yahweh the Father helps us through his Holy Spirit and by way of his Son Jesus. Almighty God the Father helps us through his word. Hebrews 4:15,16 teaches us that we can BOLDLY come directly to Almighty God BECAUSE OF his Son Jesus)

7. Remember them which have the rule over you (Or remember what you have been taught by those who are leading and teaching you the true Gospel of Jesus Christ), who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose FAITH FOLLOW, considering the end of their conversation. (In other words, FOLLOW what they have TAUGHT you about Jesus. BUT at the same time be sure that they do NOT teach anything that the Apostles of Jesus have NOT taught. For you see,)

8. Jesus Christ (Or Jesus the ANOINTED. Or Jesus the Messiah) the SAME yesterday, and today, and forever. (In other words, the TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ is the SAME yesterday, today, and for the ages. Or the DOCTRINE of Christ. Or the DOCTRINE of the ANOINTED in the SAME yesterday, today, and in the ages to come)

9. Be not carried about with divers and strange DOCTRINES. For it is a good thing that the heart is established with GRACE; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. (Again, Hebrews 1:8 along with the entire book of Hebrews is directed toward the Hebrew Christians who were subverting the Gentile Christians to keep the Law of Moses in order to be saved and receive eternal life in the world to come. Hebrews 12:8 has nothing to do with a pre-existing Jesus and yet has everything to do with the TEACHINGS of Jesus being the SAME yesterday, today, and for the age to come. The way people were saved yesterday is still the same as it is today. And no one will be saved in the world to come WITHOUT believing in the SAME Jesus Christ that we believe upon today and those who believed upon yesterday.)

10. We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.

11. For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.

12. Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

13. Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

14. For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

15. BY him, therefore, let us offer the sacrifice of praise TO God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

16. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”

Now, if so be, that the writer of the book of Hebrews was teaching us the doctrine of the Trinity in Hebrews 13:8, then he would have been consistent to refer to Jesus as being God all the way the entire book of Hebrews. But like every other New Testament book the writer of Hebrews also makes the same CLEAR DISTINCTION between Jesus as being our Lord FROM the ONE TRUE God who alone is the FATHER.

In Hebrews 1:9, we can clearly see that Almighty God the Father is the God OF his Son Jesus and that it was Yahweh, the Father who highly exalted or ANOINTED the Son of MAN Jesus to be ABOVE his fellow brothers.

Hebrews 1:9.

“You (Speaking of the Son of MAN Jesus) have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore, God, even YOUR God, has ANOINTED YOU with the oil of gladness ABOVE you fellows (Or HIGHER THAN your companions or your brethren).”

When you look up the Greek word translated as “gladness” then you will find that the phrase “ANOINTED you with the oil of gladness” is alluding to the Son of MAN being HIGHLY EXALTED and INAUGURATED BY Yahweh the Father to BECOME Yahweh’s God, his Lord and his King who will rule FOR Yahweh in the world to come for 1000 years.

Outline of Bible usage:

exultation, extreme joy, gladness

At feasts, people were anointed with the "oil of gladness". Hebrews 1:9 alludes to this inaugural ceremony of anointing and uses it as an emblem of the divine power and majesty TO WHICH the Son of God has been EXALTED.

Thayer’s Greek Lexicon:

Hebrews 1:9 (from Psalm 44:8 (Ps. 45:8)) oil of gladness with which persons were anointed at feasts (Psalm 23:5), and which the writer, alluding to the inaugural ceremony of anointing, uses as an emblem of the divine power and majesty TO WHICH the Son of God has been EXALTED.

Now, this AGREES with Hebrews 1:5-9 and Philippians 2:8-11. For you see, the Son of MAN was HIGHLY EXALTED to BECOME the eternal divine Son of God AFTER the cross. Please read Philippians 2: 8-11 first, and then we will come back to the book of Hebrews.

Philippians 2:8-11.

“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9. Wherefore (Or for this very REASON of the ANOINTED Son of man becoming obedient to do the will of God, even to die on the cross for the sins of the world) God ALSO has HIGHLY EXALTED him, and GIVEN him a NAME which is above every name:

10. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, TO the glory OF God the Father.”

Now, if so be, that Jesus is the SAME as he supposedly was in eternity past as God the Son equal in every way with God the Father, then the Bible ITSELF would NOT teach us that Jesus was HIGHLY EXALTED. Can you not see my dear Trinitarian brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, that the word SAME means NO CHANGING? Can you not see that being HIGHLY EXALTED is indeed a CHANGE?

Let us ASSUME that Jesus pre-existed as God the Son, the second person of a Godhead Trinity God, where Jesus was EQUAL in every way with God the Father. And let us ASSUME that Philippians 2:4-7 is speaking of a God the Son that supposedly incarnated himself the become flesh. And in the process of God the Son becoming FLESH he stripped himself of every advantage of being a divine eternal being so that he could take on human flesh and be like every other human being. Can you not see that God the Son in the FLESH would no longer be the SAME as the ETERNAL God the Son in eternity past?

The truth of the matter is that Jesus was a MORTAL human being subject to death. For you see, a so-called immortal God the Son would not have been able to DIE. And if ONLY the human body died then NO REAL person died for our sins. Jesus himself said that he could do NOTHING OF HIMSELF. And, therefore, Jesus had NO power of his OWN before the cross. In other words, DURING the days of his FLESH there would be no GOD the Son that was FULLY God and human at the same time. But rather there would be the HUMAN Son of God having NO divine nature because DIVINITY CANNOT be TEMPTED and DIVINE NATURE cannot DIE. So again, we see a CHANGE. And then, AFTER the cross, the SUPPOSED God the Son was GIVEN immortality. And ALSO, the Son of MAN was HIGHLY EXALTED. Again, we see another CHANGE. I mean HOW could an already FULLY Almighty God the Son be HIGHLY EXALTED to be any HIGHER than he supposedly already was, if so be, that Jesus was FULLY Almighty God and fully man at the same time?

So let us quit ASSUMING and get back to what the word of God ACTUALLY states as FACT. John 1:14 does NOT say that God the Son was made flesh. But rather John 1:14 states as a FACT that the WORD was made FLESH. It does NOT say that the word was made flesh and REMAINED the word. It does NOT say that God was made flesh and REMAINED fully God. It does NOT say that the word became a God/man. But rather the word in John 1:1 is the HOW that Yahweh creates all things. Yahweh SPEAKS forth his word out from his own mouth and the WORD that Yahweh spoke became whatever that WORD defines or describes.

In Genesis 1:3,4 God said or God SPOKE the word “LIGHT” and then LIGHT came into being. And if God would have spoken the word “music” to be then music would have come into existence. So then, whatever the word is DESCRIBING is what the word becomes. And in John 1:1 the word was “God”. And then what HAPPENED? Did not a God under and subject to THE God come into existence? Is Jesus not called by the TITLE God? And is Jesus not UNDER and SUBJECT to HIS God and Father? But BEFORE the word became a God, the word FIRST became FLESH and then that Son of MAN Jesus became a God under and subject to HIS God Yahweh the Father AFTER the cross.

Now, the word of God was translated as the pronoun “IT” in several English translations BEFORE the King James translation. Please read the study “WHAT DOES JOHN 1:1-5,14 TRULY MEAN?” The word is a PART of Yahweh the same as our words are a PART of us. The word “Word” should have NEVER been capitalized because the word in John 1:1 is the same Greek word used throughout the New Testament as the SPOKEN word of God that came out from God. The word is God’s SPOKEN divine word. The word is SPIRIT. So is NATURE the word is DIVINE BEFORE the word BECAME something else. The word BECAME FLESH and thus the word was no longer DIVINE. The spoken word that was in the FORM of SPIRIT became FLESH. The word STRIPPED ITSELF to take on HUMAN NATURE.

I know that the English translation uses the pronoun “HIMSELF”. But you have to remember that BEFORE the King James translation capitalized the word to become the Word the pronouns referring back to the word was the pronoun “IT”. And then when the King James Version came along the translators CHANGED the pronoun “IT” to the pronoun HE and capitalized the word to become the Word. And if you look up the meaning of the Greek word translated as “HIMSELF” in Philippians 2:7 it also means “ITSELF”. So to me, the FORM that Jesus was in before the word was made FLESH was the IMAGE that Yahweh was FORMING in his mind before God began to PROPHESY about his yet coming, Son into being. When you look up the Greek word “MORPHE” translated as FORM in Philippians 2:6 you will find that it carries the meaning of changing or going through some adjustments until it becomes the way it is desired to be.

Here is what the Blue Letter Bible says.

μορφή morphḗ, mor-fay'; perhaps from the base of G3313 (through the idea of ADJUSTMENTS of parts); shape; figuratively, nature:—form.

I can imagine how God was FORMING his plan of salvation in his mind and HOW he desired his Messiah to be. And during that FORMING of the IMAGE of his Messiah, I can imagine that some ADJUSTMENTS were made by Yahweh UNTIL the IMAGE of his Messiah in his mind was PERFECT. And then God SPOKE His word and the spoken word of PROPHECY became flesh. So to me, the word did not become a HE until AFTER the word was made FLESH. And, therefore, the word is an IT until the word BECAME what Yahweh SPOKE into being. So then, in the same manner, the pronoun “HIMSELF” in Philippians 2:6 should ALSO be the pronoun “ITSELF” because the FORM Jesus was in was the WORD that was WITHIN Yahweh as an IMAGE of what Yahweh desired his Son to be. And then that word was spoken by the prophets in the Old Testament until the fullness of time to bring forth the word into existence as PROPHESIED. Then the word was sent down from heaven by way of the angel Gabriel who SPOKE God's word to the Virgin Mary. And when Mary BELIEVED that word was made FLESH in her womb to be BORN as the Son of MAN. Nowhere do we find any explicit clear teaching in the Bible that a so-called God the Son became flesh.

But, in truth, Philippians 2:6 means that Jesus came into being in the FORM of God AFTER the cross. As I have said before, the King James Version of the Bible is BIAS toward the doctrine of the Trinity. Please read the study “PHILIPPIANS 2:6-8 PROVES JESUS PRE-EXISTED!”

Also, we do indeed find in Hebrews 1:4-6 very clear and explicit teaching that God’s Son did NOT exist in eternity past as Trinitarian Christians claim.

Hebrews 1:4-6.

“Being MADE (Or being made to BECOME) so much better than the angels, as he has BY INHERITANCE OBTAINED a more excellent name than they.

5. For unto which of the angels said he at any time, You are my Son, THIS DAY have I begotten you? And again, I WILL BE to him a Father, and he SHALL BE to me a Son? (This kind of language would NOT exist in the Bible IF SO BE that the Bible ITSELF teaches us of a PRE-EXISTING God the Son. These are PROPHECIES written in the Old Testament which PROPHESIED of God’s yet coming into being Son. God’s Son was BEGOTTEN on a certain DAY. The word was made FLESH on a certain day to become the Son of MAN who would come to be called the Son of God. But the Son of MAN did not actually BECOME the eternal Son of God UNTIL God raised the Son of MAN from the dead and GAVE him eternal life to be having in himself even as the Father has always possessed immortality. Please read the three-part study “WHEN DID JESUS BECOME GOD’S ETERNAL? -1”)

6. And again, WHEN he (Yahweh the Father) brings in the FIRST-BEGOTTEN into the world, (Speaking of the SECOND coming of Jesus when God WILL bring his FIRSTBEGOTTEN Son, the FIRSTBORN from the DEAD back into the world) he says, And let all the angels of God worship him.”

It does NOT say and let all HIS angels worship him. The writer of Hebrews is quoting a prophecy from Psalm 97:6 here in Hebrews 1 verse 6 that refers to the SECOND coming of Jesus.

Please read Psalm 97:1-7.

“The LORD reigns; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

2. Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitations of his throne.

3. A fire goes before him (Speaking of Jesus coming is FLAMING FIRE to execute the WRATH of Almighty God), and burns up his enemies roundabout.

4. His lightning enlightened the world: the earth saw and trembled.

5. The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD (Referring to Yahweh Almighty God the Father), at the presence of the Lord (Speaking of Yahweh’s Son Jesus the Lord) of the whole earth. (Who will rule FOR Yahweh for 1000 years and then commit the kingdom BACK into his Father's hand at the END of the Millennium according to 1 Corinthians 15:20-28.)

6. The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory. (Again, speaking of the NOW GLORIFIED Son of MAN Jesus who BECAME God’s eternal Son AFTER the cross)

7. Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship HIM, all you gods.”

The Hebrew word that is translated as gods in verse 7 is the Hebrew word “ELOHIM” which refers to the ANGELS in this context. This AGREES with Hebrews 1:6 and Philippians 2:9-11 when all the ANGELS or all the ELOHIM will bow down and WORSHIP Jesus TO the glory OF Almighty God the Father along with the humans who survive the wrath of God by calling on God to be spared alive.

Hebrews 1:6.

“And again, WHEN he (Yahweh the Father) brings in the FIRST-BEGOTTEN into the world, (Speaking of the SECOND coming of Jesus when God WILL bring his FIRSTBEGOTTEN Son, the FIRSTBORN from the DEAD back into the world) he says, And let ALL the ANGELS (Or all the ELOHIM) of God WORSHIP HIM. (TO the GLORY OF Almighty God the FATHER, according to Philippians 2:11)”

The word or the TITLE “God” is found 72 times in the book of Hebrews. And of those 72 times, the TITLE “God” refers to Jesus only ONE time in Hebrews 1:8. And in the very next verse, we can clearly see that Yahweh the Father is the God OF his Son Jesus who he himself ANOINTED to become a God. Please understand that the word “God” is a TITLE. And when the TITLE of God is GIVEN to a created being then that does NOT mean that there are TWO creator Gods. There is only ONE TRUE God who ALONE is the ALMIGHTY God OF Gods. And Jesus HIMSELF clearly identified the FATHER as being the ONLY TRUE God in John 17:1-3.

Please read John 17:1-3.

“These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour has come; glorify YOUR SON, that YOUR SON also may glorify YOU:

2. As YOU have GIVEN him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as YOU have given him.

3. And this is life eternal, that they might know YOU the ONLY TRUE God, AND (That they might know) Jesus Christ (Or Jesus ANOINTED Son of MAN), whom YOU have SENT. (Or AND that they also might know Jesus your MESSIAH whom you ANOINTED and COMMISSIONED)”

The Greek word translated as SENT here also means COMMISSIONED. And the word commissioned means to GIVE POWER and AUTHORITY to someone to accomplish the task that he or she is given to complete. So then, it was the ONLY TRUE God who ALONE is the FATHER who ANOINTED the Son of MAN Jesus with the Holy Spirit and with power, according to Acts 10:28. And now, that SAME ANOINTING dwells in us to empower us to do the SAME works that the Son of MAN Jesus did THROUGH the eternal Spirit who DWELT IN him. That is what the word “Christ” means. Please read the study “JESUS THE CHRIST!” And keep in mind that God did not anoint Jesus UNTIL his baptism in the River Jordan. That is WHEN the fullness of the Godhead came and DWELT IN the Son of MAN, Jesus. And that is WHEN the testing for Jesus began. That is WHEN God SENT his Son into the world to become Yahweh’s Messiah to die for the sins of the world. Please read the study “JESUS THE FULLNESS OF THE GODHEAD BODILY”

The Bible ITSELF teaches us that the Godhead DWELT IN the Son of MAN Jesus. And that is WHY Hebrews 13:8 does NOT prove the doctrine of the Trinity. The very first two verses in the book of Hebrews teach us that God’s Son did NOT exist during the Old Testament times.

Hebrews 1:1,2.

“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in TIME PAST unto the fathers BY the prophets,

2. Has in these LAST DAYS spoken unto us BY his Son, whom he has appointed HEIR of all things, by (Or FOR the sake of) whom also he made the worlds;”

In other words, all the so-called “theophanies” or the THEORIES of the angel of the Lord being God’s SON are proven to be FALSE theories. For you see, God spoke in many different ways in the Old Testament times but NEVER by his SON because it was only in the LAST DAYS that God spoke to mankind BY his SON. And all those so-called “theophanies” are SHADOWS, TYPES, FIGURES, and PROPHECIES pointing toward God’s yet coming Son into existence to be BORN of a Virgin. Hebrews 1:5 proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that Jesus BECAME God's Son. And, therefore, the doctrine of the Trinity is a FALSE teaching because WITHOUT an ETERNAL God the Son that never had a BEGINNING the whole doctrine of the Trinity falls apart completely
