SPELLING EDITED F-3. What does SEALED with the Holy Spirit MEAN? Does being SEALED with the Holy Spirit mean that a Christian can never lose their salvation no matter what they do or do not do? What does Ephesians 1:13 TRULY mean in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God? What is the TRUE sound BIBLICAL meaning of the word SEALED? Let us begin this study in God’s word by reading Ephesians 1:13,14. “In whom you also trusted AFTER that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also AFTER that you believed, you were SEALED with that holy Spirit of promise, 14. Which is the earnest of our inheritance UNTIL the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” Some Christians sincerely believe that being SEALED with the Holy Spirit means nothing other than being eternally saved. In other words, they believe that being eternally saved is the ONLY thing that being SEALED means. But the Greek word that is translated as sealed means to stamp or to MARK for security, preservation, and protection. It is a promise that God will never leave or forsake us but it is NOT a guarantee that we can never be DECEIVED and fall away from God. sphragizō sfrag-id'-zo From G4973; to stamp (with a signet or private mark) FOR security or preservation (literally or figuratively); by implication to keep secret, to attest: - (set a, set to) seal up, stop. Now, according to the CONTEXT and the meaning of this Greek word translated as sealed, this Greek word means to be marked as a PURCHASED POSSESSION by God. But the Christians who sincerely believe in the doctrine of eternal security wrongly interpret the word sealed to mean that they are signed, sealed, AND delivered into eternal life without any works whatsoever even AFTER a person accepts Jesus as their Savior. But is their INTERPRETATION of the word “SEALED” a sound Biblical interpretation? Let us take a look at how this word sealed in used in other verses. Please read Ephesians 4:30. “And grieve NOT the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed (Or marked as a purchase possession of God for preservation) UNTO (Or UNTIL) the day of redemption.” Now, if so be that the meaning of the word sealed means that we are eternally saved and that we can never lose our salvation no matter what we do or do not do after we accept Jesus as our Savior then that would mean that the day of redemption would be the very day that we accepted Jesus as our Savior. For you see, the day that we were SEALED with the Holy Spirit of promise is the very day that we became REDEEMED. We were purchased by God by the shed blood of Jesus the very day that we believed in Jesus as the atonement for our sins. And no Christian argues with this truth. But this verse teaches us that we are sealed UNTO the DAY OF redemption. That means that the day OF redemption is in the FUTURE. And that means that we have not yet RECEIVED our INHERITANCE that will be given to us AT the coming of Jesus. We have been PROMISED the HOPE of eternal life in the world to come but we have not yet actually RECEIVED our inheritance of eternal life. The Greek word translated as UNTO also means TILL or UNTIL. So then, we are marked as the purchased possession of God UNTIL the DAYof REDEMPTION which is WHEN we will actually be JUDGED BY our WORKS on the day that Jesus returns. Not our OWN works that we do in our OWN strength but rather the works that we do THROUGH the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us by OBEYING the leading of the Holy Spirit and BELIEVING the promises of God written in his word. Before we get into the explaining of WORKS being required to receive eternal life in the world to come let us read the CONTEXT of Ephesians 4:30 to learn the TRUE Biblical meaning of the word “SEALED” from the context. Ephesians 4:16-32. “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you henceforth walk NOT as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, (Paul is testifying the truth in the Lord that AFTER we accept Jesus as our Savior or AFTER we believe in Jesus as the atonement of our sin we are to no longer walk in sin and in unrighteousness as the unsaved Gentiles) 18. Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: 19. Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20. But you have NOT so learned Christ; (Now, if so be, that the apostles of Jesus taught eternal security where a true born-again believer in Jesus could never lose their salvation no matter what they do or do not do then Paul would have not said that we have LEARNED to NOT walk as the Gentiles. IF SO BE the doctrine of eternal security is true then the apostles of Jesus would have taught the SAME things that the doctrine of eternal security teaches. And the doctrine of eternal security teaches that WORKS do not matter. But Paul says that we have NOT learned from Jesus that we can do whatever we chose to do and never lose our salvation) 21. If so be that you have HEARD him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: (So then, did Jesus walk as the Gentiles living in SIN? NO! Jesus walked in RIGHTEOUSNESS! And we have LEARNED from the disciple of Jesus who learned directly from Jesus that we are to walk in RIGHTEOUSNESS even as Jesus walked in RIGHTEOUSNESS to live our lives WITHOUT SIN. The TRUTH is IN Jesus and that TRUTH is) 22. That you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24. And that (Or and you have also LEARNED that) you put on the new man, which AFTER God is created in righteousness and true holiness. 25. Wherefore, (Or for this very reason that you have LEARNED that you are made the righteousness of God through Jesus which runs AFTER God) putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another. 26. Be you angry, and sin NOT: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27. Neither give place to the devil. 28. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needs. 29. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30. And GRIEVE NOT the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed UNTO (Or UNTIL) the day of redemption. (Speaking of the DAY on which Jesus will judge you by your WORKS at his coming) 31. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32. And be you kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.” In the same CONTEXT of the word “SEALED” that is translated from the same Greek word used in Ephesians 1:13, we are being WARNED to NOT GRIEVE the Holy Spirit whereby we are SEALED. Now, why would there be a WARNING to PUT AWAY all evil in our lives IF SO BE that the meaning of the word sealed means ETERNALLY SAVED? The truth of the matter is that we have not yet received the END of our salvation. Please read 1 Peter 1:3-9. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again unto a lively HOPE by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (And NOT a lively guaranteed eternally sealed salvation that can never be lost for any reason. But rather we are born-again unto a lively HOPE of inheriting eternal life in the world to come because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ) 4. To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in heaven for you, (Can you not see that we have the HOPE OF the inheritance of eternal life in the world to come. The Bible itself teaches us that the word “HOPE” does NOT mean that we already HAVE the thing which we yet HOPE for. Please read Romans 8:23-25. “ And not only they but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Rom 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is NOT hope: for what a man sees, why does he yet hope for? Rom 8:25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience WAIT for it.” So you see, the word “HOPE” means that we have NOT actually RECEIVED eternal life as yet. So the verses that say that we HAVE eternal life mean that we have the PROMISE of eternal life. And that promise of receiving eternal life in the world to come is CONDITIONAL. And the condition is that ONLY those who ENDURE unto the END shall be saved. Yes, our inheritance of eternal life is RESERVED in heaven for those who ENDURE unto the END) 5. Who are KEPT BY the power of God through FAITH unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (So then, the END our salvation which is our RECEIVING eternal life in the world to come has not yet been REVEALED to us. The word revealed means that our lively HOPE of receiving eternal life that is reserved in heaven has not yet been manifested. But through FAITH we hold fast to the PROMISES of God that IF we OBEY the teachings of Jesus under the New Covenant written in the New Testament then we can be ASSURED that our inheritance of eternal life is RESERVED for us in heaven) 6. Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, you are in heaviness through manifold temptations: (Why would anyone ever be in heaviness if so be it is true that we could never lose our salvation no matter what we do or do not do? What would it matter if we give in to temptation if so be we are eternally saved when we first believed? What would be the point of the TRYING of our faith if we could never lose our salvation? Why is the TRYING of our faith much more precious than fine gold if so be we can never lose our salvation no matter if we die while living in a sinful lifestyle? We greatly rejoice in the lively HOPE of receiving eternal life in the world to come even though fighting the good fight of faith to overcome when we are tempted can be hard at times) 7. That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, MIGHT BE found unto praise and honor and glory AT the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8. Whom having not seen, you love; in whom, though now you see him not, yet believing, (Speaking of the lively HOPE of receiving eternal life in the world to come) you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9. Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” The Greek word translated as “receiving” the end of your faith means to TEND to the end of your faith. It means to take care of the END of our faith as if from HARM could come to our faith to cause us to LOSE the salvation of our souls. kolumbaō kom-id'-zo From a primary word κολυμβος kolumbos (to tend, that is, take care of); properly to provide for, that is, (by implication) to carry off (as if from harm; generally obtain): - bring, receive. Now, those who wrongly teach the doctrine of eternal security read right over all the REQUIREMENTS to actually receive eternal life and they FOCUS only on words like “who are KEPT BY the POWER of God”. And they INTERPRET those words to mean that Christians are eternally saved and can never lose their salvation no matter what they do or do not do because they are KEPT BY the POWER of God. But what they fail to see is that the POWER of God is the TRUE GOSPEL of Jesus Christ. Please read Romans 1:16-19. “For I am not ashamed of the GOSPEL of Christ: for IT (Speaking of the TRUE GOSPEL of Jesus Christ) is the POWER OF God unto salvation to everyone that believes; (Which means to CONTINUALLY believe unto the end. It also means to believe the TRUE gospel and the WHOLE gospel) to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17. For therein (Speaking of the WHOLE and TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ) is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. 18. For the WRATH of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19. Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God has shewed it unto them.” Now, those who teach once saved always saved FOCUS only on phrases like, “WE are NOT appointed to the WRATH of God” But they fail to see that being appointed does NOT mean eternally saved. For you see, ALL of mankind is APPOINTED to die ONCE but that does not mean that ALL of mankind is guaranteed to NOT die the SECOND DEATH. We know that many who are APPOINTED to die ONCE will indeed die TWICE by being cast into the lake of fire which is the SECOND death. How can Christians IGNORE the truth that the wages of SIN is DEATH to wrongly teach that WORKS do not matter? The Bible teaches us that we are to MAINTAIN good works and to MAKE SURE our calling and election so that we will never FALL. Titus 3:1-8 “Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, 2. To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness unto all men. 3. For we ourselves also (In times past, before we accepted Jesus as our Savior) were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4. But AFTER that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6. Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7. That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the HOPE of eternal life. 8. This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that you affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.” Now read 2 Peter 1:8-10. “For IF these things be in you, AND abound, they make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9. BUT he that LACKS these things is BLIND, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give DILLENGENCE TO MAKE your calling and election SURE: for IF you DO these things, you shall never FALL:” So then, IF you do not want to FALL and you want your salvation to be SURE then we must be DILIGENT to DO the things that Peter is teaching us to DO so that we will be eternally secure. So WHAT THINGS did Peter teach us that IF we do them we shall never FALL? Let us read the CONTEXT. Please read 2 Peter 1:1-13. “Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, TO THEM that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: (This teaches us that Peter is teaching this to TRUE born-again believers in Jesus Christ) 2. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, (This teaches us that we need to learn MORE than simply accepting Jesus as our Savior) 3. According as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious PROMISES: that by THESE (Speaking of the promises in God’s word that teaches us HOW to escape the wrath of God) you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6. And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7. And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. (Or love) 8. For IF THESE THINGS (Speaking of virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, GODLINESS, brotherly kindness, and LOVE) be in you, AND abound, (Then) they MAKE you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9. BUT he that LACKS these things is BLIND, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give DILLENGENCE TO MAKE your calling and election SURE: for IF you DO these things, you shall never FALL: 11. For so (Or so that) an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (Christians who live in SIN and who do NOT repent and confess their sins will NOT enter into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Bible makes it very clear to us that the wage of SIN is DEATH and who we serve his servant we are whether it be a servant of sin unto DEATH or a servant of OBEDIENCE unto RIGHTEOUSNESS. Let us read Romans 6:20-22 right after we finish this passage of Scripture in 2 Peter) 12. Wherefore, (Or for this very reason that those of you who LACK these things are BLIND and in danger of LOSING your salvation) I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though you know them, and be established in the present truth. 13. Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;” Those who wrongly believe in the doctrine of once saved always saved which is also called the doctrine of eternal security incorrectly interpret the Scriptures regarding the RECEIVING the GIFT of eternal life. They sincerely believe that they have ALREADY RECEIVED the gift of eternal life the very moment that they first believed. But that is NOT what the Bible ITSELF teaches us. Please read Romans 6:20-23. “For when you were the servants of sin, you were free from righteousness. (In other words, when you used to live in sin before you became a believer in Jesus as your savior you had no righteousness in the eyes of God) 21. What fruit (Or what reward) had you then in those things whereof you are NOW ashamed? FOR the end of those things is DEATH. (Or the END of living in SIN is DEATH) 22. But NOW being made free from sin, and become SERVANTS TO God, you have your fruit unto holiness, and the END everlasting life. (Or at the end, speaking of the Day of Judgment AT the coming of Jesus the fruit of holiness will be eternal life and the fruit of SIN will be DEATH) 23. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” A WAGE is something you EARN. A wage is something you DESERVE. But a GIFT is something that does NOT HAVE to be given. A gift can be given to whosever the giver CHOOSES to give that gift. It is the GIVER who decides to give or to not give the gift. A parent can promise their children a gift if they are good and then NOT give that gift if they are NOT good. So just because Romans 6:23 says that eternal life is a GIFT does NOT mean that there are NO CONDITIONS placed upon us for us to RECEIVE the gift of eternal life in the world to come. Romans 6:23 is not the WHOLE gospel of Jesus Christ. It is an ERROR to INTERPRET Romans 6:23 out of its context to wrongly conclude that a GIFT can NOT be taken away and NOT GIVEN. Jesus said that we must ENDURE unto the END in order to actually RECEIVE the END of our salvation which is the GIFT of eternal life. For an in-depth study of when we actually receive eternal life please read the study “WHEN DO WE RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE?” But for now, let us read the words of Jesus. First let us read Matthew 24:11-13. “And many false prophets (Which includes false teachers and false doctrines) shall rise, and shall DECEIVE many. 12. And because iniquity (Or SIN) shall abound, the love of many shall wax (Or grow) cold. (And they will go back to living in sin) 13. But he (Of you who are truly born-again) that shall ENDURE UNTO THE END, the SAME (Speaking of ONLY the true born-again Christians who ENDURE unto the END to NOT let their first love grow cold and allow SIN to have dominion over them) shall be SAVED.” The word saved in Greek means to be in a RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with God. And the word endure means to REMAIN. So IF we REMAIN in OBEDIENCE to the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ unto the END of our life or until Jesus returns THEN and only then will Jesus GIVE us ETERNAL LIFE. Please read Revelation 2:10. “Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be you FAITHFUL unto death, and I WILL GIVE you a crown of life.” But what will happen if a true born-again Christian draws back from the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ and they are found to be UNFAITHFUL? Will Jesus still GIVE eternal life to his UNFAITHFUL SERVANTS? Some Christians have been DECEIVED by Satan to say yes to that last question and that Jesus will still give eternal life even to Christians who DENY him. But the Bible ITSELF teaches us that IF we draw back from obeying the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ and we should die WHILE living in DISOBEDIENCE to the true gospel of Jesus then we will NOT receive eternal life in the world to come. Please read Hebrews 10:36-39. “Cast not away, therefore, your confidence, (Of enduring unto the end) which has a great recompense of reward. 36. For you have need of patience, that, AFTER you have done the WILL of God, you might RECEIVE the promise (Of eternal life in the world to come AT the coming of Jesus). 37. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. 38. Now the just (Speaking of truly born-again Christians who are justified by the shed blood of Jesus just as if they had never sinned) shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. 39. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe TO the saving of the soul.” The Bible itself teaches us that our SOUL is not actually saved UNTIL the END which is AT the second coming of Jesus. So we do NOT actually RECEIVE the GIFT of eternal life UNTIL the world to come that will begin right after the WRATH of God is poured out upon the DISOBEDIENT to the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ. Please read Mark 10:29,30. “And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that has left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, (Speaking of the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ) 30. But he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and IN the world to come eternal life.” In other words, those who have been told to believe that they ALREADY HAVE eternal life NOW have been LIED to with incorrect INTERPRETATIONS of some verses that have been wrongly interpreted by being viewed ALONE and APART from the WHOLE word of Almighty God. We must believe the WHOLE gospel in order to RECEIVE eternal life IN the world to come. Yes, we have the PROMISE of receiving eternal life in the world to come but the WHOLE gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us that our RECEIVING the GIFT of eternal life IN the world to come is CONDITIONAL. Now we all know and understand that the word “IF” is conditional. So IF I were to give you a PROMISE and I use the word “IF” you do something FIRST then that means that the RECEIVING of that promise is CONDITIONAL. In other words, the promise is only honored AFTER the CONDITIONS have been met. So IF I were to promise to you that IF I drop a hundred dollar bill on the ground AND IF I say to you that IF you go and pick up that hundred dollar bill and give it back to me THEN I will GIVE that hundred dollar bill TO you as a GIFT from me. And you have my PROMISE that I will honor my word to do what I say IF you obey what I have said. Then you would never even think to say that you ALREADY HAVE that hundred dollar bill and that you can never lose that hundred dollar bill no matter what you do or do not do because you know and understand that the word “IF” is CONDITIONAL. Now, please understand that I am NOT making any such promise to give anyone a hundred dollar bill. But IF someone honest that you know and trust were to make a promise to give YOU a million dollars IF you picked up something that they were to drop and give it back to them, then you would FOLLOW them around wherever they go in HOPE that they would drop something and you would be the one to DO that simple task to pick up what they dropped and give it back to them so that you could RECEIVE that PROMISE of a million dollars. You would be so WATCHFUL taking great care to watch their every move to see if they drop anything. Well, that is what the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us. The WHOLE gospel teaches us that our receiving eternal life in the world to come is CONDITIONAL. For you see the word “IF is indeed CONDITIONAL. Please read Hebrews 3:6 “But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, IF we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the END.” Now read Hebrews 3:12-14. “Take HEED, BRETHREN (Speaking of true born-again Christians being WARNED to take HEED) lest there be in ANY OF YOU an evil heart of unbelief, in DEPARTING FROM the living God. 13. But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest (Or for fear that) ANY OF YOU (TRUE born-again spirit-filled Christians) be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14. FOR (Or for you see) we are made partakers of Christ, IF we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the END;” Some Christians wrongly INTERPRET the IF condition to be their faith that Jesus did EVERYTHING FOR us so that we do NOT have to do ANYTHING in order to receive eternal life. So here is a list of Scriptures that have the phrase “IF you” in them. Read them for yourself and then you decide if the extreme doctrine of eternal security is Biblical or if it is not Biblical. Remember that the extreme doctrine of eternal security teaches that Christians can never lose their salvation no matter what they DO or do NOT do. So, according to their doctrine of extreme eternal security, they boldly make the CLAIM that they can even DENY Jesus and still never lose their salvation. Mat_5:46 For if you love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? Mat_5:47 And if you salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Mat_6:14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: Mat_6:15 But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Mat_18:35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if you from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses. Mar_11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive if you have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Mar_11:26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. Luk_6:32 For if you love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. Luk_6:33 And if you do good to them which do good to you, what thank have you? for sinners also do even the same. Luk_6:34 And if you lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have you? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. Luk_16:12 And if you have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own? Joh_8:24 I said therefore unto you, that you shall die in your sins: for if you believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. (This is only a PART of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And in order to receive the second part of our salvation we must believe the WHOLE gospel of Jesus Christ) Joh_8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; Joh_13:17 If you know these things, happy are you if you DO them. Joh_13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if you HAVE LOVE one to another Joh_14:14 If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. Joh_14:15 If you love me, KEEP my commandments. Joh_15:7 If you ABIDE in me, and my words ABIDE in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you. Joh_15:10 If you KEEP my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. Joh_15:14 You are my friends IF YOU DO whatsoever I command you. Joh_15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. (We sometimes lose our friends who are not saved because we no longer APPROVE of their sinful lifestyle and they can sense that uneasy feeling being around the righteousness of God that is in us even if we never tell them that the wages of sin is death) Act_15:29 That you abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if you KEEP YOURSELVES, you shall do well. Fare you well. Rom_8:13 For IF YOU ive after the flesh, you shall die: but IF YOU THROUGH the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live. (God is not going to crucify your flesh FOR you but he will HELP you overcome sin THROUGH the power of his Holy Spirit dwelling in you and through your FAITH in the promises written in his word. Please read the study “HOW TO LIVE YOUR LIFE FREE FROM SIN!”) 1Co_15:2 By which also you are saved IF YOU KEEP in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have believed VAIN. 2Co_11:4 For if he that comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel, (Such as once saved always saved) which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him. (Lest you have believed in VAIN a false gospel) Gal_3:29 And if you be Christ's, then are you Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Gal_5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if you be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. (Let me pause here to say that the WORKS that Paul teaches that do NOT save us are the works of the Law of Moses contained in ORDINANCES. Paul is saying that if uncircumcised Gentile Christians hear a DIFFERENT gospel to be circumcised in the flesh and they become DECEIVED to do that WORK of obeying the Law of Moses contained in ordinances then that WORK of the LAW contained in ordinances profits them nothing. Paul would never preach against the WORKS of RIGHTEOUSNESS as profiting us nothing and that we are fallen from grace for OBEYING the commandments of Jesus to walk in love. That would make no sense at all to say we are fallen from grace by OBEYING Jesus to keep his commandments) Gal_5:15 But if you bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. Gal_5:18 But if you be led of the Spirit, you are not under the law. (Speaking of the Law of Moses contained in ORDINANCES, Paul would never say that we are not under the MORAL laws of God. The Holy Spirit will never lead us to break the MORAL commandments of God) Col_1:23 If you CONTINUE in the faith (Speaking of the faith in the TRUE and WHOLE gospel of Jesus Christ) grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; Col_2:20 Wherefore if you be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, Col_3:1 If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. (And there is no sin in heaven at the right hand of God) 1Th_3:8 For now we live if you stand fast in the Lord. Heb_3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost says, Today if you will hear his voice, (Speaking of the WHOLE gospel of Jesus Christ) Heb_3:15 While it is said, Today if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. (Speaking of the WHOLE gospel of Jesus Christ) Heb_4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. (Speaking of the WHOLE gospel of Jesus Christ) Heb_12:7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not? Heb_12:8 But if you be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. (So IF you are NOT convicted by the Holy Spirit when you SIN then there is a good chance that you are NOT saved and you are deceiving yourself. For you see, the Holy Spirit will never lead a true born-again Christians to live in sin) Jas_2:8 If you FULFILL (Or IF YOU OBEY) the royal law according to the scripture, You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well: Jas_2:9 But if you have respect to persons, you commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. Jas_3:14 But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the TRUTH. (To speak LIES that you can never lose your salvation no matter what you do or do not do) 1Pe_1:17 And if you call on the Father, who without respect of persons judges according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: 1Pe_3:13 And who is he that will harm you, if you be followers of that which is good? 1Pe_3:14 But and if you suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are you: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; 1Pe_4:14 If you be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are you; for the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you: on their part, he is evil spoken of, but on your part, he is glorified. 2Pe_1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election SURE: for if ye do these things, you shall never FALL: (BUT if you do NOT these things then there is no guarantee that you will not fall. Again, please read the study "HOW TO LIVE YOUR LIFE FREE FROM SIN!") 1Jn_2:29 If you know that he is righteous, ye know that everyone that does righteousness is born of him. Jesus said that we shall know them BY their FRUITS and 1 John 3:3-10 teaches us that we know the children of the devil by their works of living in SIN. And we know that the wages of sin are DEATH. So let us read one last passage of Scripture that clearly teaches us that ONLY those of us who OBEY the commandments of God under the New Covenant written in the New Testament will be given the right to eat of the tree of eternal life in the world to come at the coming of Jesus. Please read Revelation 22:10-21. “And he said unto me, Seal not the SAYING (Or do not hold back the teachings) of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 11. He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. (I believe that Jesus will shout these words AT the very moment he returns. Therefore, we must be READY because there will be no time to repent and confess our sins the moment Jesus returns to rapture his FAITHFUL bride, the church, who has made herself ready) 12. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his WORK SHALL BE. (So then, whosoever is WORKING the WORKS of sin will be judged BY whatever their WORKS shall be AT the END. The END speaks of the WORKS that will be at the end of our life or AT the moment Jesus returns whichever comes first) 13. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14. Blessed are THEY that DO his commandments, that (Or so that. Or in order that) THEY (Speaking of ONLY the good and faithful servants of God who are OBEYING the commandments of God that he gave to Jesus to give to his church under the NEW Covenant written in the New Testament) may have RIGHT to the tree of life, and may ENTER IN through the gates into the city. 15. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loves and makes a lie. (And false teaching is a lie) 16. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. (So the argument that Jesus is not speaking to true born-again Christians is a lie)I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will let him take the water of life freely. 18. For I testify unto every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, (Such as you can even deny Jesus and not lose your salvation) God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, (Such as you do not have to obey the commandments of God because you will never lose your salvation no matter what you do or do NOT do) God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20. He which testifies these things says, Surely I come quickly. (So be READY! The bride has made HERSELF READY!) Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
