V-50. WHO Is the MAN In EZEKIEL 1:26? DOWNLOAD to SAVE as a PDF Doc to read OFFLINE. V-50. WHO Is the MAN In EZEKIEL 1:26? Is the MAN in Ezekiel a THEOPHANY of a pre-existing, pre-incarnate Jesus? NO! But if your question is “Is the MAN in Ezekiel 1:26 a VISION of Jesus?”, then the answer is YES! Let me explain what I mean by this. Ezekiel is a priest of God who the VOICE of the Almighty calls the Son of MAN in Ezekiel 2:1. So then, Ezekiel is a FIGURE of the Son of MAN, Jesus. In other words, Ezekiel saw a VISION of a MAN upon a THRONE who is the GLORIFIED Son of MAN, Jesus whom God SET upon His throne after the cross and resurrection. To say this another way, Ezekiel 1:26 is a hidden PROPHECY of the Messiah AFTER God highly exalted His human Son to be SEATED at the right hand side of his god and Father on his Father's throne. So then, does Ezekiel 1:27,28 teach us that MAN upon the throne in verse 26 is Almighty God, Yahweh Himself? NO! Why do I say that the MAN upon the throne is NOT Yahweh Himself? It is because the Bible ITSELF clearly teaches us that Jesus is NOT the FATHER! And that VOICE of the Almighty is speaking TO the Son of MAN in Ezekiel 2:1 and the rest of the Book of Ezekiel. Keep in mind that Ezekiel was seeing a VISION of God. In other words, Ezekiel was seeing a VISION of the FUTURE. And that Ezekiel is a FIGURE of Jesus being SENT to the children of Israel. I will explain all of this in more detail when we get to chapter 2 of Ezekiel. But for now, with this overview in mind that Ezekiel is a FIGURE of Jesus and that he saw a VISION of the GLORIFIED Messiah after the cross and resurrection, let us begin this study in God’s word by reading Ezekiel 1:1-3. Ezekiel 1:1-3. “Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God. 2. In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity, 3. The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him.” Let us now dig deeper into the PROPHETIC meaning of these three verses of Scripture by starting with the phrase “Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi” in Ezekiel 1:3. First of all, Ezekiel is a PRIEST of Almighty God and the Son of MAN, Jesus was MADE a PRIEST of God, according to Hebrews 9:11 after the cross and resurrection. For you see, according to Hebrews 5:5, the ANOINTED Son of MAN, Jesus was not glorified until after the cross and resurrection and he did NOT GLORIFY himself to be MADE a priest unto God. Now, the name Ezekiel means “God will STRENGTHEN”. And the root meaning of the word “Buzi” means totally DESPISED. And, according to Isaiah 53:3 and many other prophecies, the Son of MAN, Jesus, was DESPISED and rejected by men, but God STRENGTHENED him. Let us now read the phrase “Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi” using the meanings of the names Ezekiel and Buzi.
“God will strengthen him, the Son of MAN, to be made a High priest who was once despised and rejected of men” So clearly, Ezekiel is a FIGURE picturing the Messiah, Jesus, who is called the Son of MAN twice as many times as others call him the Son of God. Now let us back up and take a close look at the meanings of the names in Ezekiel 1:1,2. Ezekiel 1:1,2. “Now it came to pass (Or it will be FULFILLED) in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, (And Jesus was ABOUT or AFTER the age of thirty when he was baptized in the River Jordan being AMONG those who were CAPTIVES of SIN) as I was among the captives by the RIVER of Chebar, (Which means length of time. In other words, what happened formally in the days of Ezekiel when he was about or more precisely AFTER the age of thirty will come to pass in the future. The word Chebar also carries the meaning to unite, to JOIN, to couple together, to have FELLOWSHIP with. And the word “Jordan” means to NEGATE. In other words, the PAST sins of the captives to sin are NOW no longer and the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in the believers to FELLOWSHIP and lead and guide us into all truth. And as the Son of MAN, Jesus was among or in the midst of the captives of sin in the River Jordan to be baptized for the REMISSION of sins) that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God. (And according to Matthew 3:15-17, Mark 1:10,11, Luke 3:22, and John 1:31-34, the heavens were opened and John the Baptist saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove to remain on the Son of MAN, Jesus, the Lamb of God SLAIN in the mind and plan of salvation of God before the foundation of the world) 2. In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity,” The number FIVE in the Bible is the number for GRACE. I find it interesting that it was the FIFTH day of the month which was the FIFTH year of king Jehoiachin’s captivity, who was the king of Judah that was held captive by the EVIL king of Babylon named Evilmerodoch. Now, this EVIL king of Babylon is a FIGURE of Satan. And according to Jeremiah, Evilmeredoch lifted up the HEAD out of prison. In other words, Satan YIELDED the HEAD, admitting his defeat and the HEAD was lifted up out of the prison or the holding place of the dead in the belly of the earth. I can say more on the meaning of numbers but I am trying to keep this study short, so I do not want to get sidetracked and follow another “rabbit trail” so to speak. The root meaning of the name “Jehoiachin” means Yahweh will ESTABLISH and the New Covenant was established by the shed blood of Jesus on the day God raised the Son of MAN from the dead and GLORIFIED him with His own GLORY. And according to Isaiah 42:6 God gave His anointed Messiah as His New Covenant. So then, Jesus is the GLORY of Yahweh. With this in mind that Jesus is the GLORY OF Yahweh who GLORIFIED his God and Father, according to John 17:4, let us read Ezekiel 1:25-28, which Trinitarian Christians wrongly INTERPRET to mean that the MAN in verse 26 is Yahweh Himself. But the reason that they NEED Jesus to BE Yahweh Himself is that they argue that since no man has seen God, then they MUST have seen the Son of God who appeared as a MAN. And thus, the MAN in Ezekiel 1:26 is what they call a Theophany of a so-called pre-existing, pre-incarnate God the Son, the second person of a so-called Trinity Godhead who appeared to Ezekiel as a MAN. So let us take a CLOSER look at Ezekiel 1:25-28 to learn the TRUE SOUND Biblical meaning when it is correctly interpreted in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. Ezekiel 1:25-28. “And when they went, (Speaking of the FOUR creatures described in verses 4-23, which are the FOUR beasts before the throne of the Almighty in Revelation 5:6) I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the VOICE of the Almighty, the VOICE of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings. 25. And there was a VOICE from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings. 26. And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a MAN above upon it. (And in Revelation 5:6 we learn that the MAN is the LAMB of God as it had been SLAIN. And remember that the Lamb comes over to the Almighty sitting on the throne and takes the book out of His hand. So clearly the Lamb, who is Jesus, is NOT the Almighty who sits on the throne. Also, keep in mind that the Son of MAN named Ezekiel, which means Yahweh will STRENGTHEN, saw a VISION and HEARD a VOICE. So it has to be INTERPRETED that the VOICE was the voice of the MAN in order to FORCE the MAN to be Yahweh Himself. But I assure you that the VOICE was NOT the voice of the MAN. For you see, the VOICE was speaking TO the Son of MAN named Ezekiel who is a FIGURE of the Son of MAN, Jesus) 27. And I saw as the color of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as if it were the appearance of fire, and it had a brightness roundabout. 28. As for the appearance, it is as the bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness roundabout. (Just like in the VISION of the Apostle John who describes the throne of God as a RAINBOW roundabout the throne in Revelation 4:3) This was the appearance of the likeness of the GLORY of the LORD. (Speaking of the Lord of GLORY who was MADE Lord by Yahweh after the cross and resurrection after GLORIFYING his God and Father by obeying all of the WILL of God, according John 17:4 along with Acts 2:36 and many other verses of Scripture) And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a VOICE of ONE that spoke.” And WHAT did that VOICE speak and to WHOM did the VOICE speak? Let us continue to read the CONTEXT in Ezekiel 2:1-5 Ezekiel 2:1-5. “Moreover He (The Almighty) said unto me, Son of MAN, eat that you find; eat this roll, (Referring the roll with seven seals in Revelation 5:1-7) and go speak unto the house of Israel. 2. So I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat that roll. 3. And He said unto me, Son of MAN, cause your belly to eat, (Or teach your BODY, the church, to learn what I teach to you) and fill your bowels with this roll that I give you. Then I ate it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness. (But it was BITTER to the BELLY, according to Revelation 10:7-11) 4. And He said unto me, Son of MAN, go, get you unto the house of Israel, and speak with My words unto them. And, according to Matthew 15:24, Jesus was SENT only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. But his BELLY the church was sent to BOTH the children of Israel and to the Gentiles) 5. For you are NOT SENT to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, (Speaking of the Son of MAN, Jesus, NOT being sent to the Gentiles) but to the house of Israel;” Again, Ezekiel is clearly a FIGURE of Jesus who has seen a VISION of the Messiah. And the VISION that Ezekiel saw is ALSO a FIGURE of the VISION that the Son of MAN, Jesus saw at his baptism by John the Baptist in the River Jordan, which means to NEGATE or to forgive all of the PAST sins. Keep in mind that while Ezekiel saw the VISION of the heavens being OPENED, the Son of man, Ezekiel, which means God will STRENGTHEN, ALSO HEARD a VOICE from heaven. Now, in the four gospels we are not specifically told about Jesus HEARING the voice of Yahweh, his God and Father, but we know from Acts 22:9, Daniel 10:7, and John 12:27-33 that a person can HEAR the VOICE of Almighty God without anyone else around being able to hear the voice of God from heaven. In other words, God can let OTHERS hear only what He Himself chooses them to hear, while the ONE that the vision is SPECIFICALLY given to hear the REST of what God has to say. Please read Acts 22:9. “And those that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they HEARD NOT the VOICE of him (Speaking of the voice of the NOW glorified Son of MAN, Jesus) that spoke to me.” So then, those with Paul heard what sounded like thunder, but ONLY Paul heard the rest of what the voice of the glorified Son of man, Jesus spoke SPECIFICALLY to Paul for him to hear. And we also know from the PROPHECIES of the Messiah that the Son of MAN saw VISIONS from God and in those visions, God told the Son of MAN things that would come to pass. For example, during the vision on the mountain where Jesus was transfigured God told Jesus in that vision of Moses and Elijah what manner of death he should die. Please read Luke 9:30-33. “And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elijah: 31. Who appeared in glory, and SPOKE of his DECEASE which he SHOULD accomplish at Jerusalem. (In other words, God showed the Son of MAN, Jesus, in a VISION what DEATH he would DIE outside of the city of Jerusalem. And I can imagine that God showed His human Son, Jesus, how horrific his crucifixion on the cross would be, because God SET a JOY before him to ENDURE the cross, according to Hebrews 12:2) 32. But Peter and those that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.” So ONLY Jesus HEARD while those with Jesus only SAW and heard what God ALLOWED them to hear. Now let us take a look at a couple of PROPHECIES of the Messiah who would be given VISIONS from God during the days of his flesh as the human Son of God. Please read Psalm 89:19. “Then You spoke in vision to Your holy one, and said, I have laid HELP upon one that is mighty; (Or I have STRENGTHENED one to be mighty or to become a mighty God, according to the PROPHECY in Isaiah 9:6,7) I have EXALTED one chosen out of the people.” Now read Hosea 12:10. “I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and USED SIMILITUDES, BY (Or through) the ministry of the prophets.” In other words, God used obvious prophecies, HIDDEN prophecies, VISIONS of the prophets that He MAGNIFIES so that we can SEE the hidden meaning of the visions, AND Yahweh used SIMILARITIES between the ministry of the prophets compared to the ministry of the Son of MAN, Jesus, God Christ, or God’s Messiah, whom He ANOINTED with the Holy Spirit and POWER, according to Acts 10:38. Plain and simple, the MAN in Ezekiel 1:26 is a VISION of the future GLORIFIED Son of MAN, Jesus, whom God EXALTED and SEATED on His throne after the cross and resurrection.
