Cc-4. ALVINISM-Unconditional ELECTION! True or False? PART 4

This is part four of the series of studies examining Calvinism in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God to expose the errors of “interpretation” made by Calvinism, Reformed Theology, and Grace Alone Christians. The “U” in the acronym T.U.L.I.P. stands for the doctrine in Calvinism called “UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION”. This doctrine teaches that God chose certain specific people before the foundation of the world to be saved unconditionally or without any requirements on the part of the chosen ones. In other words, the “elect” is saved by grace alone and not by any works. To say this another way, from BEFORE the foundation of the world Almighty God CHOSE certain select individuals to be SAVED based upon NOTHING that these individuals have or have not done, while at the same time Almighty God also chose that the remainder of mankind were to be vessels of destruction to be cast into the lake of fire at the end of the 1000 year reign of Jesus based again upon absolutely NOTHING that they have done or have not done.

Also, the doctrine of UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION teaches that each and every person is PREDESTINED to EITHER be SAVED OR to be cast into the lake of fire in the end and there is NOTHING that any of mankind can do to CHANGE their PREDESTINATION because it has ALREADY been CHOSEN by Almighty God from BEFORE the foundation of the world based on NOTHING that the person will do or will not do throughout his or her life.

Thus the term UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION which is where Almighty God has ALREADY UNCONDITIONALLY ELECTED or has UNCONDITIONALLY CHOSEN certain select individuals from BEFORE the foundation of the world to be SAVED based upon NOTHING that these individuals have or have not done, nor on what they will or will not do during their lifetime. This doctrine also teaches that Almighty God will EFFECTUALLY CALL his ELECT whom he has chosen from BEFORE the foundation of the world with an IRRESISTIBLE GRACE whereby each and every one of his ELECT or CHOSEN ONES will, without fail, be saved and NONE of these ELECT can or ever will lose their salvation because they were CHOSEN from the foundation of the world to be saved. And ONLY these specially selected specific individuals who were CHOSEN from BEFORE the foundation of the world will be SAVED. And by choosing ONLY these select few to be SAVED, then the rest of mankind had consequently been chosen to be vessels of destruction that will be destroyed in the lake of fire at the end of the 1000 year reign of Jesus also based upon nothing they have or have not done. In other words, the vessels fitted for destruction were, as well, UNCONDITIONALLY chosen to be destroyed based on nothing these people have or have not done.

So then, what Scriptures do those that teach this doctrine use to support their doctrine of UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION? Well, one of the most prominent passages of Scripture that is used by Calvinistic, Reformed Theology, and Grace Alone Christians is found in Ephesians 1:3-5.

Ephesians 1:3-5.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

4. According, as he has CHOSEN us in him BEFORE the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

5. Having PREDESTINED us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,”

So then, those who teach the doctrine of UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION place all the FOCUS or all the EMPHASIS upon the words

In other words, then they begin their argument by emphasizing that whatever is according to the good pleasure of God's WILL, because WHO is to argue with God. In other words, if it is GOD'S good pleasure to save me and NOT save you, then how can you argue with GOD who created you to do what he wants to do with you. And then they emphasize the pronoun “us” as the SUBJECT of WHO has been CHOSEN from BEFORE that foundation of the world.

BUT is this TRULY what this verse is teaching us?

Well, first of all, I nor anyone else who does NOT hold to this FALSE doctrine of an unconditional election are NOT arguing WITH God. We are merely stating a DIFFERENT INTERPRETATION of the word of TRUTH based upon the WHOLE word of God and NOT upon verses that are taken out of context and viewed alone and apart from the WHOLE word of God.

With that being said, let me give you MY opinion of how this verse should be viewed or interpreted in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of God.

Please keep in mind what I said at the beginning in part 1 of the study on Calvinism and Reformed Theology that if even ONE point of their doctrine is shown to be FALSE, then all the five points of Calvinism are also proven to be false. In other words, if ONE point of doctrine falls then ALL four of the other points fall along with it. Also, keep in mind that I have already shown without a doubt that the first of these five points of Calvinism, the doctrine of TOTAL DEPRAVITY, is FALSE teaching in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of God.

But, nonetheless, I will ALSO show that this second point of the five points of Calvinism called UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION to be FALSE teaching as well when it is examined in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of God.

So then, here is Ephesians 1:3-5 again with the EMPHASIS placed upon DIFFERENT words, which gives the TRUE meaning of this passage of Scripture.

Ephesians 1:3-5.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places IN Christ:

4. According, as He has chosen us IN HIM before the foundation of the world, (WHY? Why did Almighty God the Father CHOOSE that the SALVATION of mankind is IN His Son Jesus the CHRIST from BEFORE the foundation of the world?) THAT (Or SO THAT) we should be holy and without blame before Him IN love: (HOW? How is God going to accomplish our being holy before him in love?)

5. Having predestined us UNTO the adoption of children BY Jesus Christ (Or IN Jesus Christ) to Himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,”

The TRUTH of the matter is that it is NOT the WHO that has been CHOSEN from before the foundation of the world, but RATHER, it is the WHAT that has been CHOSEN from BEFORE the foundation of the world. And that WHAT that has been chosen before the foundation of the world is the SALVATION of mankind to be IN Jesus, the Son of Almighty God. In other words, God CHOSE from BEFORE the foundation of the world that the SALVATION of ALL of mankind MUST be IN JESUS. The LAMB was SLAIN in the mind of God BEFORE the foundation of the world. This is the WHAT that has been CHOSEN according to the good pleasure of Almighty God from BEFORE the foundation of the world, and NOT certain select individual people.

You see my dear brothers and sisters in the Lord, a person does not BECOME one of the ELECT UNTIL that individual person makes the CHOICE to BELIEVE the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ. The TRUTH of the matter is that the WHAT that Almighty God has ORDAINED to CHOSE are the RIGHTEOUS. In other words, God will NOT CHOOSE the WICKED to enter into eternal life in the world to come. So then, in this respect, we, WHO BELIEVE in Jesus BECAME the ELECT after we BELIEVED. In other words, the ELECT is NOT because God CHOSE us, as in, God only chose CERTAIN SELECT INDIVIDUALS from BEFORE the foundation of the world to be SAVED without any CONDITIONS whatsoever. To say this another way, it is NOT the WHO that has been CHOSEN before the foundation of the world, but rather, it was the MEANS BY WHICH mankind shall be SAVED that God chose BEFORE the foundation of the world. And that MEANS the WHAT was chosen BEFORE the foundation of the world. And what God chose is SALVATION through the LAMB that was SLAIN in the mind of God from BEFORE the foundation of the world. It is only when the WHOSOEVER BELIEVES IN Jesus that they then BECOME the ELECT or CHOSEN by God.

In 1 Peter 1:17-23, we read AGAIN were the WHAT or MEANS of the SALVATION of mankind has been CHOSEN by Almighty God from BEFORE the foundation of the world. And that form or means of SALVATION is IN HIM for it is IN JESUS, who is as a LAMB without spot or blemish that was CHOSEN and ORDAINED by Almighty God from the FOUNDATION of the world to be the sacrifice for SINS of ALL of mankind and NOT for a select few specially chosen individuals who were supposedly chosen from before that foundation of the world, which to ME, shows God to have RESPECT of persons.

1 Peter 1:17-23.

“And if you CALL on the Father, who without RESPECT of persons judges ACCORDING to every man's WORK, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

18. For as much as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

19. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a LAMB without blemish and without spot:

20. WHO verily was FOREORDAINED BEFORE the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

21. Who BY HIM do BELIEVE in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

22. Seeing YOU have purified YOUR souls (HOW? How do we PURIFY our souls?) IN OBEYING the TRUTH (NOT in our OWN strength, but rather) THROUGH the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently:

23. Being BORN AGAIN, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, BY THE WORD OF GOD, which lives and abides forever.”

CLEARLY, the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, teaches us that a person is BORN AGAIN BY the WORD of God, or by the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ. In other words, each individual person has a PART to play in their salvation, which is to first BELIEVE in God's plan of salvation according to the good pleasure of HIS WILL and then to OBEY the TRUTH unto the end. We will go into this more later on in this study of examining Calvinism in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of God, but for now let us take a look at some other verses of scripture that are used to try and support the doctrine of UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION, which teaches that God CHOSE or ELECTED only certain specific individuals to be saved supposedly from BEFORE the foundation of the world.

Another verse that Calvinism uses to try and support this doctrine of UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION is Romans 8:29,30.

Romans 8:29,30.

“For whom He did foreknow, He also did PREDESTINE to be conformed to the image of His Son, THAT (Or so that) he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30. Moreover whom He did PREDESTINE, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified.”

Now, some Christians do not believe in PREDESTINATION at all, but to ME, I see that the Bible does, in fact, teach predestination. However, I do NOT believe the word of TRUTH teaches predestination in the WAY that Calvinism teaches that ONLY CERTAIN SELECT INDIVIDUALS are PREDESTINED to be SAVED and the rest vast majority of mankind are PREDESTINE to be destroyed in the lake of fire and that there is NOTHING that either the so-called ELECT or the so-called REPROBATE can do to CHANGE their so-called PREDESTINATION, according to the Calvinistic definition of predestination. 

So here is what I myself personally believe that the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, as in, the WHOLE word of God, teaches on this subject of PREDESTINATION.

PREDESTINATION, WHAT does the BIBLE TEACH?

What does the BIBLE have to say on this controversial subject of PREDESTINATION? Are some people predestined to be SAVED? While other people are predestined to be LOST?

Let us begin by defining some words so that we all approach the meaning of predestination from a Biblical perspective and NOT from a worldly or theological viewpoint. The word “predestine” means to destine or to determine in advance; to foreordain. In the THEOLOGICAL sense, the word “predestination” means the act whereby God is believed to have foreordained all things. And again, THEOLOGY defines predestination as the regulation of all souls to either salvation or damnation. Then the world defines predestination as destiny or fate.

Now, the simplest definition of the word “predestination” is: {A Predetermined Destination!}

So ask yourself, “What is our predetermined destination that God has predetermined or foreordained for ALL of mankind as His INTENDED Will?

Did God predestine or predetermine for all of mankind to be cast into hell and eternal damnation?

Absolutely NOT!

Did God predestine certain specific people to be lost and cast into hell and eternal damnation and there is NOTHING that they can do to NOT be cast into the lake of fire?

Again, Absolutely NOT!

The Bible clearly teaches that God is NOT willing that any man should perish, but rather, God's intended Will is that ALL of mankind to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2 Peter 3:9.

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, NOT WILLING that ANY should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.”

1 Timothy 2:4 says it this way.

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who WILL have ALL men to be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth.”

From these passages of Scriptures that you just read there should be no doubt that it is God's perfect WILL for ALL of mankind to be saved. In other words, this is God's INTENDED purpose, or what is according to his good pleasure, which is for ALL of mankind to be saved. This is what would please God the most.

Those that teach that God predestines some to be lost and eternally damned while he elects or chooses others to be saved use the argument that God is God and he will do what he PLEASES. And, therefore, since it is God's WILL for all men to be saved, then there is no way that Almighty God will fail in what he has WILLED to be. So then, having this line of reasoning, those who teach Calvinism DEMAND that since we know that ALL of mankind is NOT going to be saved, then it MUST, without fail, mean that it is NOT God's will for ALL men to be saved. Otherwise, God FAILED to perform his WILL.

Now, this may sound logical when only focusing on certain Scriptures, but in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of God, it becomes CLEAR that it is NOT Almighty God that fails, but RATHER, it is MAN who fails by NOT BELIEVING and OBEYING God's word.

Oh, but to a Calvinist Christian, God forbid that MAN has ANY PART WHATSOEVER in his salvation, even if that part is simply BELIEVING and OBEYING God's word through God’s help, and even if man’s part is ACCORDING to the GOOD PLEASURE of Almighty God Himself. My point is this, just because something is God's good pleasure or God's Will and desire for mankind does NOT mean that God is a failure if some men make the CHOICE to NOT believe and be saved. Somehow, to a Calvinist Christian, this makes God not be Almighty and Sovereign, which is not at all true. God was Almighty and Sovereign before he ever made mankind. God was Sovereign before God created Lucifer along with one-third of the angel rebelled against God to overthrow his throne. This does NOT make God be any less than ALMIGHTY and Sovereign just because His creation rebelled against Him. Nor does it make God any less Sovereign and ALMIGHTY when mankind disobeys Him by his OWN choice. So many thousands of times NO! God did NOT specifically create certain select individuals to be DESTROYED in the lake of fire and there is NOTHING that they can do to change their supposed predestination to be destroyed. This is NOT God's GOOD PLEASURE as Calvinism and Reformed Theology FALSELY teach.

The TRUTH of the matter is that the CLEAR, PLAIN, and SIMPLE word of God teaches that God takes NO PLEASURE in the death of the wicked. So IF this man-made statement, that God is God and he will do whatever he PLEASE is true, then ALMIGHTY God who is all-powerful would make absolutely sure that every man, woman, and child to ever live on the earth would not perish but have eternal life with him. For you see, the word of God plainly states that God has NO pleasure in the death of the wicked. However, this statement is just an OPINION of men and is not based upon the whole word of God. The word of TRUTH clearly teaches us that God takes NO pleasure in the death of the wicked. So for Calvinistic Christians to teach that it is God's PLEASURE to predestine certain specific people to the lake of fire BEFORE the foundation of the world is to CONTRADICT other parts of God's word. Look at what Ezekiel 33:11 tells us.

Ezekiel 33:11a.

“Say unto them, As I live, says the Lord God, I have NO PLEASURE in the death of the wicked; BUT that the wicked turn from his way and LIVE; turn you, turn you from your evil ways; for WHY will you die...”

The immediate context is about the children of Israel but, in truth, God is pleading with all of mankind to come to the knowledge of the truth and turn away from the deception of the enemy. God does NOT desire the DESTINY of ANY man, that is to say, the destiny of any of mankind to be death. The wage of sin is death.

You see, God has predestined or predetermined His DESIRE or His INTENT for ALL humans but God has ALSO given every person the freedom to CHOOSE their own destiny. In other words, God has predetermined His WILL to be that ALL men turn from evil and CHOOSE good in order to receive LIFE. This is God's desire for ALL of mankind to receive eternal life but each and every person must CHOOSE for themselves whether to believe God's so great salvation or to rejects God's grace to give WHOSOEVER BELIEVES eternal life in the world to come.

The TRUTH of the matter is that God foreordained and PREDESTINED ALL of mankind, every man, woman, and child to be conformed into the IMAGE of His dear Son, Jesus the Christ. This is the true INTENT of the word “predestination” in a Biblical sense. In other words, it is NOT so much the WHO that is PREDESTINED, but RATHER, it is the CONDITION or the final state of a person that is FOREORDAINED and PREDESTINED. And that the PREDESTINE CONDITION is that ALL of mankind be CONFORMED INTO the IMAGE or LIKENESS of His Son Jesus, which is to be SPOTLESS and WITHOUT SIN. Almighty God has predestined that the FINAL state of His creation is RIGHTEOUS and that is exactly what it shall be in the END. Let us take a closer look at the verses of scripture where the word predestination is found and you will see what I mean.

Romans 8:29 says it this way.

“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestine to BE (To BE WHAT? To BE) conformed to the IMAGE of His Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

So the TRUTH of the matter is the WHAT that are we predestined to BE like, rather than the WHO that has been supposedly PREDESTINED to be SAVED and the WHO that has been supposedly been PREDESTINED to be LOST. The lake of fire was prepared ONLY for the Devil and the fallen angels and NOT for any humans but hell ENLARGED herself. So clearly, God never INTENDED the lake of fire to be used for any humans. So it is the WHAT that God predestined and not the WHO that God predestined. The word of God CLEARLY says that we are to be conformed to the IMAGE of His Son. This is our PREDETERMINED destiny. This is our INTENDED destination that God planned for ALL humans even before the foundation of the world. God foreordained that this is His WILL and God's great desire for us, and not only us who already believe but for ALL of mankind. In other words, ALL of mankind is foreordained or PREDESTINED to BE conformed to the IMAGE of His Son BUT the CONDITION of each individual person BELIEVING must be met by them CHOOSING who to OBEY. God SET before each and every person a CHOICE or life or death and His desire for every person is for THEM to CHOOSE LIFE. This is God's perfect WILL. This is God's desire and good pleasure for ALL of mankind. And God takes NO pleasure in the wicked who reject His so great a salvation because He has also predestined for ALL the wicked who do NOT turn from their wicked ways by their OWN CHOICE to be DESTROYED in the lake of fire. But again, God does NOT want ANY to PERISH and that ALL humans come to the knowledge of the TRUTH and be saved.

So then, you might be thinking, if this is God's perfect will and His desire that would bring him great pleasure, then why are not all men saved? The TRUTH of the matter is that God has already provided salvation for all of mankind and He has given each and every one of us the CHOICE to either choose life or to choose death.

So ultimately WE, as in, each and every single person, chooses their OWN destiny or final destination BY making the CHOICE to CHOOSE God's plan of salvation and NOT CHOOSING their OWN WAY.

It is a distortion of the Scriptures to try and say that God picks and chooses who will be saved and who will be lost based upon absolutely NOTHING that we do or do not do. In other words, to say that we do not have any choice in that matter, either way, to CHANGE the way we live is to FALSIFY the word of TRUTH. To say that God has chosen only certain select individuals to be SAVED, while at the SAME time God has also chosen NOT to CHOOSE the rest of mankind to be saved based upon NOTHING that ANY man or woman has done or has not done is to CONTRADICT the word of TRUTH. For you see, the Bible itself teaches that God is NO RESPECTER of persons and that EVERY man will be judged ACCORDING to his or her WORKS. Now the works of God are that which we BELIEVE and OBEY according to His word. Again, more on the REQUIRED WORKS to receive eternal life later, but for now, let us look at the verses that clearly teach us that God is NO RESPECTER of person.

Acts 10:34b.

“...Of a TRUTH I perceive that God is NO RESPECTER of persons.”

Romans 2:11 says it this way.

“For there is NO RESPECT of persons with God.”

Ephesians 6:9b says it like this.

“...knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there a RESPECT OF PERSONS with him.”

You see, God does NOT pick and choose certain specific individuals beforehand who will be saved and who will be lost in the sense that he ELECTS and CHOOSES this person or that person and there is nothing these individuals can do to change their destiny or fate. This is NOT what this word “predestination” means in a BIBLICAL sense.

The truth of the matter is that God has foreordained and predestined those INDIVIDUALS, who make the CHOICE to live ungodlily and NOT LET the enemy deceive them to be conformed into the image of Jesus. BUT for the WICKED who REJECT this so great a salvation by their own free CHOICE, then THEIR final destination to be the lake of fire. In other words, Almighty God has PREDESTINED for ONLY the RIGHTEOUS to be granted ETERNAL LIFE in the world to come and the END of his kingdom shall be ONLY the RIGHTEOUS. The WICKED shall be NO MORE.

And in the same way, God has foreordained and predestined us, speaking of only those of us who have made the CHOICE to BELIEVE in God's plan of salvation and live righteously before God and for mankind to be conformed in the image of His Son, Jesus the Christ, who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth and at the END of our faith to receive eternal life.

Are you getting a hold of this yet? Yes, we are ALL predestined, in that, we ALL have a FINAL DESTINATION of one of the two destinations. However, each person's final destination is solely BASED upon the CHOICES that each individual person makes and NOT upon God supposedly choosing certain individuals to be saved and lost from before the foundation of the world to be predestined to one of those two predestined destinations. What was chosen before the foundation of the world is that the salvation of mankind is IN Jesus Christ to the glory of Almighty God the Father?

DO NOT BE DECEIVED!

God has PREDESTINED ALL of mankind, every man, woman, and child to be holy and to be found blameless before him in LOVE. This is God's intent and perfect Will. But YOU and every other INDIVIDUAL have to CHOOSE for yourselves to do good and refuse the evil in order for this predetermined destination of ETERNAL LIFE in the presence of God to be accomplished in YOUR and their life.

In other words, God has PREDETERMINED or foreordained the FINAL DESTINATION of ALL of mankind to be conformed into the image of His dear Son and to live a holy life and to be found blameless before Him in love. This is God's PERFECT WILL and DESIGN for ALL of mankind. This is what would bring Him pleasure.

BUT…

God has an ENEMY whose name is Satan, called the devil, who has made it his sole or one and only purpose to bring about the fall of mankind. It is Satan himself who is the author of this man-made THEOLOGY of predestining certain specific people to heaven and other certain specific people to hell. For you see, Lucifer BLAMED God for his rebelling against God. And thus, Satan accused God by standing on the EXCUSE that the REASON he rebelled against God was that God CREATED him evil or PREDESTINED him to REBEL against God and he had NO CHOICE in the matter, and, THEREFORE, it was NOT his fault that he exalted himself against God.

So, therefore, it would be unjust for God to cast him in the lake of fire. Both God and Satan are gathering WITNESSES to present as their defense on the final Day of Judgment. In other words, Satan is DECEIVING mankind to BLAME God for everything that happens as his line of defending his own accusing God of his rebellion against God. And God is gathering witnesses to prove that even an inferior creation lower than the angels can live without sin. Jesus is the first FAITHFUL WITNESS. Please read the study I have on “UNDERSTANDING WHY?” for a deeper understanding of why God allows certain things to happen to mankind. Many people often say, “If these things displease God, then why doesn't he just get rid of the devil?” Read the study linked above called Understanding Why and many of your questions will be answered. But for now, just know that there is an OPPOSING force that is working against God and his creation and this opposing force is called EVIL. Also, know that evil does not have to exist in order for us to know good, but for a season God is allowing evil to exist for a particular purpose. In short, this purpose is to show or prove that God is good and that all which God created is also good. I cover this in-depth in the study I mentioned above.

Another point to closely consider is, IF God PREDESTINED some people to HELL, then he would have ALSO had to have SPECIFICALLY CREATE hell for MANKIND. However, this is NOT what the word of God teaches us. Jesus himself teaches us that the ETERNAL FIRE was created for the ANGELS and NOT for mankind. The Bible also says WHY have you, speaking of hell, ENLARGED yourself. NO, many thousands of times NO! God did NOT predestine most of mankind to hell because hell was NOT originally made FOR mankind. But rather, the lake of fire was made FOR Satan the Devil, and the FALLEN REBELLIOUS ANGELS. 

To teach that God has PREDESTINED certain select individuals to be SAVED is to ALSO teach that God has PREDESTINED all other certain select individuals to HELL. This teaching of CALVINISM and Reformed Theology is a lie from the pit of hell itself and are doctrines of devils that should be REJECTED. Also, keep in mind that God has foreordained some other things as well. It is vitally important that we consider the WHOLE word of God, especially when controversy arises and the Bible seems to contradict itself.

While it is God's will for ALL of mankind to be saved and that God has predestined those of us who have made the CHOICE to follow the steps of Jesus to live holy before him. God has ALSO foreordained or established in his word that BY the foolishness of PREACHING to be the means, so to speak, whereby mankind is to be saved to those who BELIEVE.

Look at 1 Corinthians 1:21b.

“...it PLEASED God BY the foolishness of PREACHING to SAVE them that BELIEVE.”

You see, God has foreordained or predestined CHOICE to be one of the ingredients or factors that are used to determine our OWN DESTINY according to the GOOD PLEASURE of God. Are you seeing the true meaning of what the word of God intends for the word “predestination” to mean?

God has given us the freedom of our OWN WILL for us to CHOOSE what we will and what we will not do. It is up to us to determine who we are going to obey, God, or the enemy, Satan.

Ultimately, it is on the basis of that final choice which we make before we draw our last breath that will determine our final destination or our destiny that God has predetermined or predestined for us DEPENDING upon the final CHOICE of our OWN free WILL that we make. Look at Ezekiel 33:12-20.

Here is Ezekiel 33:12.

“Therefore, you son of man, say unto the children your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall NOT deliver him in the DAY of his transgression.”

In other words, we are saved for the purpose of doing good works of righteousness and we will remain in the state of BEING saved as long as we CONTINUE in these works of righteousness. BUT in the DAY, when we transgress or sin, then all the works of righteousness which we have done through Christ will be in vain, in that they will NOT be remembered by God as a way to balance the books so to speak. That is to say, all these works of righteousness will NOT be remembered and they will NOT deliver us while we are living IN SIN.

Now, this does not mean that those who slip and chose to disobey God and sin are forever lost because they fell into sin. God's mercy endures forever and he gives those that slip back into sin space to repent.

However, if they do not CHOOSE to obey the leading or drawing of the Holy Spirit to confess their sin and repent, and they go ahead and make the choice NOT to repent and ask for God's forgiveness, then if they should die in this state of disobedience to God, they would consequently go to that predestined PLACE called hell, which God had to ENLARGE itself when the first man Adam sinned.

In other words, the PREDESTINED destination of ALL the DISOBEDIENT to the WHOLE word of God who remain unrepentant are to be subject to the WRATH of God which includes the final judgment of being cast into the lake of fire, called the SECOND DEATH.

You see, God does not desire them to make the CHOICE of disobedience and God certainly does not desire them to harden their OWN heart to the Holy Spirit or his word and NOT repent.

But God is faithful and he himself has CHOSEN to be BOUND by his word. Therefore, since God said in His word that the wage of sin is DEATH, then God must honor his word even though it grieves the heart of God to destroy the wicked and God has NO PLEASURE in the DEATH of the WICKED. You see, God, by speaking forth His WORD has, therefore, foreordained and predestined those who obey and those who disobey his commands to be judged ACCORDING to their WORKS, whether they are good or whether they are evil. God is FAITHFUL and He will NOT go back on what he has already spoken.  

Please read Isaiah 45:23a.

“I have sworn by myself, the WORD is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall NOT RETURN...”

Then in Isaiah 55:11, God says.

“So shall my word be that goes out of my mouth: it shall NOT RETURN unto me VOID, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

The Christians that teach that God predestines some certain select people to be saved and also predestines all others to be lost also state that Jesus died ONLY for those who are the ELECT or chosen. That is to say, ACCORDING to Calvinism and Reformed Theology, Jesus died ONLY for the elect and NOT for the sins of the WHOLE world. And the ELECT, according to THEM, were chosen BEFORE God ever created the first man, Adam.

However, the word of God itself CLEARLY teaches that Jesus did NOT die just for a few specifically selected individuals that God supposedly foreordained to be the “CHOSEN ONES” as some FALSELY teach, but rather the Bible teaches that Jesus died for ALL of mankind, the sins of the WHOLE world.

John 3:16 tells us this.

“For God so loved the WORLD, (Speaking of all of humanity) that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

And 1 John 2:2 teaches us that Jesus died not only for our sins but ALSO for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD.

1 John 2:2.

“And he (Jesus) is the propitiation (Or Jesus is the ATONEMENT) for our sins: and NOT for ours ONLY, but ALSO for the sins of the WHOLE world.”

2 Corinthians 5:19 says.

“To wit, that God was in Christ, RECONCILING the WORLD unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”

Titus 2:11 says it like this.

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to ALL men.”

John 12:32.

“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw ALL [men] unto me.”

In John 12:32, the word [men] is NOT in the original Greek text. So the ALL is referring to only the all of the WHOSOEVER who BELIEVE. The Bible clearly teaches that God has shown forth His mercy, grace, and love to ALL of mankind by providing for us a way to be reconciled back to Him. BUT God’s REQUIREMENT is that each individual person must BELIEVE in His Son, Jesus, the only name given among men whereby we MUST be saved.

However, it is up to us to BELIEVE his word and make the CHOICE to follow the steps of Jesus by OBEYING the leading of the Holy Spirit every moment of every day. Salvation is a process of making CHOICES on a daily basis throughout the day. And our salvation is dependent upon what choices we make, whether we choose to give in to temptation and sin or whether we choose to resist the devil and obey God.

Take a look at Deuteronomy 30:19 in which God says.

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have SET BEFORE YOU (Or I have foreordained or predestined for there to be) life and death, blessing and cursing; THEREFORE, CHOOSE life; that both you and your seed may LIVE.”

God desires ALL of mankind to have life and blessing but He ALSO has foreordained that we are to decide for ourselves to either choose to obey His word or choose to reject His word. And when one rejects God and His words they thereby make their own choice to believe the deception of the enemy.

Now it was NOT in God's design that there be any death or cursing, but because of the tempter, people are deceived and thereby them being deceived they have sinned, thus man fell from his original design that God had intended.

Can you not see that the TRUTH of the matter is that hell was NOT created for mankind, but rather hell was made for the fallen angels PROVES that God did NOT PREDESTINE certain select individuals to hell from BEFORE the foundation of the world, because hell had to ENLARGE itself in order to accommodate those of mankind who made the CHOICE NOT to BELIEVE the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ, God's PLAN of SALVATION for ALL of mankind. In other words, an all-knowing God would have certainly made hell LARGE enough IF SO BE that he did indeed specifically create certain individuals to be predestined to hell from before the foundation of the world as Calvinism FALSELY teaches.

Look at Isaiah 5:13a and14a which says.

“Therefore my people are gone into captivity, (Why?) because they have no knowledge...therefore, hell has ENLARGED herself and opened her mouth without measure:...”

God did not make hell for ANY of mankind, BUT because MAN HIMSELF made his OWN CHOICE to reject the knowledge so great salvation that Almighty God provided for him with the shed blood of His dear Son, then hell enlarged herself. Hell was NOT enlarged because God created some men to be lost and they have no choice in the matter as some FALSELY teach. But rather, hell was enlarged because some of mankind by their OWN CHOOSING have made the CHOICE to reject the TRUTH of God's word and follow the tempting influences of Satan the enemy of their soul. They are DESTROY for LACK of KNOWLEDGE and we who BELIEVE are held accountable IF we do NOT WARN the wicked to TURN from the wicked ways so that they can LIVE.

Take a close look at Hosea 4:6,7.

“MY PEOPLE are destroyed (Why? Why are God’s very own CHOSEN people destroyed?) for LACK of KNOWLEDGE: because YOU (Speaking of some of the chosen people of God) have REJECTED knowledge, I will also REJECT you, that you shall be no priest to me: (Why?) seeing that YOU have forgotten the LAW of your God, (Or more precisely, some of the Jews do not UNDERSTAND that the LAW contained in ordinances is a SCHOOLMASTER leading them to their Messiah, Jesus. For you see, the Hebrew word that is translated as forgotten also carries the meaning of being oblivious to the LAW of God. In other words, some of the Jews were oblivious to the PURPOSE of the LAW contained in ordinances as being SHADOWS pointing to Jesus) I will also forget your children. As they were increased, so they sinned against me, therefore, will I CHANGE their glory into shame.”

Please notice that the INTENDED Will of God's glory to be for Israel had to be CHANGED into SHAME because they SINNED against God. Now, those of you that teach or believe this doctrine of UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION which states that God chooses some people to be saved and other people to be lost and NONE of the ELECT shall lose their salvation, I want you to notice that the word of God here in Hosea says MY PEOPLE are destroyed. In other words, these are God's “CHOSEN PEOPLE”, or God's ELECT who are being destroyed. This verse alone proves that God's ELECT can, have in the past, and do continue to LOSE their SALVATION and shall be destroyed in the lake of fire on the Day of Judgment when they are JUDGED ACCORDING to their WORKS. Always remember that if you truly LOVE Jesus then you will KEEP his COMMANDMENTS which are NOT an option, but rather, they are REQUIRED to be kept in order to be found worthy to receive eternal life in the world to come.

These ELECT or CHOSEN ONES are NOT being destroyed because God predestined them to be destroyed in that they have no choice in the matter. Absolutely not! They are destroyed because of LACK of their KNOWLEDGE that the law of commandments contained in ORDINANCES were shadows, figures, and types pointing to Jesus as their Messiah and they CHOOSE to REJECT the KNOWLEDGE of law of God.

You see, God is bound by His own spoken word of prophecy to CHANGE their predestined glory which God had originally INTENDED and purposed or foreordained for them to have eternal life. But because they sinned by rejecting Jesus as their Messiah then their ORIGINAL predestined GLORY had to be CHANGED to NOW have the shame of destruction which is the predetermined destination of those who have chosen to be WICKED. Now, being evil or being wicked means to REJECT God's Will. Also, God did not enlarge hell, but rather, MAN HIMSELF made a place for himself there in hell because he or she REJECTED the knowledge of the TRUTH to be saved under the New Covenant. Please understand that God will turn a SECOND time to the REMNANT of Israel at the second coming of Jesus to save them during the 1000 year reign of Jesus. Also, understand that any Jew can still be saved during this present world by believing in Jesus as the Messiah.

DON'T BE DECEIVED!

Almighty God must HONOR His WORD and CHANGE the original predestined glory for those who they THEMSELVES made the CHOICE to REJECT God's word and thus change their OWN predestination of GLORY to a thing of SHAME!

However, God in His FOREKNOWLEDGE knew beforehand the devices of DECEPTION of His enemy Satan. In other words, God knew the possibility that mankind would fall and, therefore, foreordained a WAY of reconciling man back to Himself before the foundation of the world IF the first Adam failed. So before the world was ever made God CHOSE the WAY in which He would redeem mankind back to Himself. In short, God foreordained the WAY of SALVATION to be that when man hears the gospel, the good news of being reconciled back to God AND BELIEVES then God would AGAIN call them His CHOSEN or ELECT if and when they BELIEVE. For you see, God cut off every last branch of the natural olive tree AT the cross. And, thus, God CONCLUDED ALL of mankind, INCLUDING every single Jew, or child of Israel to me UNDER sin so that He could show His GRACE to eliminate BOASTING. So our initial salvation is by grace through FAITH and being the ONLY requirement to be saved.

In other words, Almighty God will bring THOSE who make the CHOICE to BELIEVE in His plan of salvation, which is to BELIEVE in His Son Jesus for the forgiveness of sins, to be brought back into RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with Almighty God. And then it is when those who RESPOND in FAITH to His CALL by the gospel that they THEN BECOME one of the CHOSEN or the ELECT.

This is what Ephesians 1:4 teaches us.

“According as he has CHOSEN us IN HIM before the foundation of the world, that we should be HOLY and WITHOUT BLAME before him in love. Having predestined us unto (UNTO WHAT? Unto) the adoption of children (HOW?) BY Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will.”

Again, the predestination part is that we are foreordained to BE God's children BY or through His Son, Jesus. And the CHOSEN part or that which is chosen is the fact that Almighty God has CHOSEN or foreordained that salvation would be IN HIM, as in, referring to salvation being IN His Son Jesus. And the pronoun us is referring to ALL the world or all of mankind who make the CHOICE to BELIEVE and OBEY the word of TRUTH.

So you see, the TRUTH of the matter is that WHEN we make the CHOICE to believe and follow in his steps, THEN that is WHEN we actually BECOME the ELECT of God.

The Bible clearly teaches that God gives the CALL for ALL of mankind to come to the knowledge of truth and be saved. The word of God also teaches that man determines his or her OWN destiny by the CHOICES he or she makes. Please note that the word “makes” is in the PRESENT tense. The past is in the past, good or evil, it is in the past. Now if your past or your present is on the side of evil then repent and seek forgiveness of God, then start making the right choices to REFUSE the evil and CHOOSE the good. God is CALLING you to come to the knowledge of the truth. And part of that knowledge of the truth is to follow in the StEPS of Jesus who did NO sin.

It is the WHOSOEVER who will ANSWER the CALL of the GOSPEL that is the who that will BECOME one of the ELECT.

BUT those who REJECT the CALL of Almighty God through the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ will be rejected by God.

Proverbs 1:23-29 say.

“Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my Spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. 

24. Because I have CALLED, and you refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; 

25. But you have set at naught all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: 

26. I will also laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear comes; 

27. When your fear comes as desolation, and your destruction comes as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish come upon you. 

28. Then shall they call upon me, but I will NOT answer, they will seek me early, but they shall not find me: (WHY?) 

29. For they hated KNOWLEDGE, and did NOT CHOOSE the fear of the Lord.

30.  They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. 

Pro 1:31  THEREFORE, shall they eat of the fruit of their OWN way, and be filled with their OWN devices.”

Think it through for YOURSELF. HOW can one be CALLED and still yet REFUSE God? According to Calvinism and the Reformed THEOLOGY of ELECTION,  God ONLY calls the ELECT and that the ELECT who are CALLED cannot LOSE his or her salvation because he or she is PREDESTINED to be saved.

NO my dear brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ this is MAN-MADE THEOLOGY which contradicts the WHOLE word of God. We just read where some of those whom God CALLED REFUSED His CALL because they did not CHOOSE the FEAR of the Lord, but rather, they chose their OWN way.

You see, God is always CALLING, but the question is, are you going to ANSWER Him? God has CHOSEN ALL of mankind through His written word to turn from evil, to resist the devil, to flee from sin, and to CHOOSE the good.

Proverbs 3:31 says.

“Envy you NOT the oppressor, and CHOOSE NONE of his ways.”

The oppressor is Satan. And God is warning us to NOT envy the ways of Satan lest we be deceived to choose Satan’s ways. The word of God clearly teaches us that we must make a CHOICE of whom we will serve. There is no middle ground. You are either on the side of EVIL or you are on the side of GOOD.

Look at Joshua 24:15a.

“And if it seems evil unto you to serve the Lord, CHOOSE you this day whom you will serve...”

Then Jesus says in Matthew 12:30a.

“He that is not with me is AGAINST me;...”

There is no gray area. There is no neutral ground. Everyone has to make a CHOICE as to WHOM they will serve and OBEY.

I will present to you two more Scriptures that clearly show that God has CALLED and CHOSEN ALL of mankind to inherit eternal life which again prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that God did NOT just select a few specific individuals from before the foundation of the world to be saved as some FALSELY teach.

Isaiah 65:11a,12 says this.

“But you are they that FORSAKE the Lord, that FORGET my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number. (I believe the word THAT troop refers to the radical Islamic Muslims that make WAR with God’s people, the Christians and the Jews. And THAT number is referring to those who convert to Islam. Please read the study “COULD ISLAM BE THE MARK OF THE BEAST?”)

12. Therefore, (Or for THIS VERY REASON of YOU YOURSELF forgetting and forsaking me) will I number you to the sword, and you shall all bow down to the slaughter: BECAUSE when I CALLED, you did not answer; when I spake, you did not hear; but did evil before my eyes, and (YOU YOURSELF) did CHOOSE that wherein I delight not.”

The very reason the wicked are numbered to the sword of destruction is that they THEMSELVES rejected and FORSOOK the Lord when he CALLED to them. They would not hear or listen and they would not answer or respond when he called. But instead, they themselves CHOSE to do evil and all the things in which God did not delight or desire them to do. Again, to do evil means to NOT OBEY the Will of God.

Then Isaiah 66:3,4 we read further that the very reason why man has BECOME wicked is that each individual person has made the CHOICE in and of themselves to go their OWN ways by obeying the INFLUENCE of the devil. Here again in God's word of TRUTH we see that when God CALLED they themselves did NOT ANSWER and receive his so great a salvation.

Isaiah 66:3b,4.

“...yea they have CHOSEN their OWN ways, and their souls delight in their abominations. 

4. I will ALSO CHOOSE their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them, (WHY?) because when I CALLED, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and CHOSE that which I delighted not.”

You see, God is for us and not against us. His desire for us, ALL of mankind, is always good. It is God's GOODNESS that leads and draws us to REPENTANCE. God's goodness is reaching out and CALLING ALL men unto himself. Almighty God is WAITING will all EXPECTANCY for ALL his children of men to TURN for their wicked ways and ANSWER his CALL to come back to him.

Jeremiah 29:11 says.

“For I know the thoughts I think TOWARD you, says the Lord, thoughts of PEACE, and NOT of evil, to give you the EXPECTED END.”

The EXPECTED END, that is to say, the desired end for ALL of mankind is to come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved. This is what God has foreordained or PREDESTINED for ALL of mankind. God is always thinking GOOD thoughts TOWARD all of mankind, thoughts of PEACE and LOVE. God has NO PLEASURE in the DEATH of the WICKED, but rather, God desires that the wicked TURN from his or her wicked ways. The EXPECTED END that Almighty God has for ALL of mankind is for EVERY man, woman, and child to live holy IN LOVE before Him by their OWN free desire and CHOOSING.

God is FOR us and NOT against us. Do, therefore, YOU YOURSELF must BECOME fully persuaded in your OWN heart and mind to come to the understanding that there is NOTHING in this world that can keep you from ANSWERING God's CALL to come to Him EXCEPT YOU YOURSELF. Do not listen to the LIES of Satan, the enemy of God any longer, but rather, say YES to God's CALL, and ANSWER Him today.

Say to Almighty God, I hear you Lord God reaching out to me. I know that I MYSELF have SINNED against you. Please forgive me of MY sin that I alone of my OWN free choice have sinned against you. I have heard in your word that you loved ME while I was yet a SINNER and you gave your only begotten Son, Jesus, who freely suffered and laid down his own life for ME so that I can be placed back into the right relationship with you O God. I believe that you raised your Son Jesus from the dead and because he now lives with you by your side that I also shall one day live with you and your Son Jesus for all eternity in your kingdom as I CONTINUE to ANSWER your CALL or repentance every day by walking in OBEDIENCE to the leading of your Holy Spirit. Come into my life Lord Jesus and baptize me with the Holy Spirit of Almighty God our Father. I COMMIT my way unto you this day and ask you to direct my steps that they always be pleasing in your sight O Lord. Thank you Father for your so great a salvation and help your light in me to always shine brightly to draw others to you. Amen.

Now CONTINUE seeking the Lord God every day by talking to him, by reading and studying His word, by fellowshipping with other believers, by praising and thanking Him for His goodness, by sharing His love with your fellow man, and by lifting up the anime of His Son, Jesus to share the TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I am sure you have heard it said at one time or another if you grew up in a church that when someone accepts the Lord as their Savior then their name is written in the Lamb’s book of life. There is a church hymn that says, “Well there is a NEW NAME written down in glory”, which is to say that a new name has been recorded in the Lambs book of life. Now, this may or may not be scriptural. I myself am still a little bit undecided as to WHEN our names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

I never gave this much thought as to WHEN our names are actually WRITTEN DOWN in the Lamb's book of LIFE until I began this study and discovered that one of the main arguments of those that teach that God chooses or elects ONLY some specially selected specific individuals by supposedly PREDESTINING ONLY these ELECT of CHOSEN ONES to be saved while at the SAME time God supposedly predestines ALL others to eternal damnation in the lake of fire, is only the THEOLOGY that God has written the names of ONLY some in the book of life from the foundation of the world, while ALL others were NOT written in the Lambs book of life from the foundation of the world.

Here is the verse of Scripture that they use to try and show that God chooses some to be saved and others he supposedly chooses all others to be lost.

Revelation 13:8.

“And ALL that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, (Speaking of Satan, the dragon, the beast with seven heads and ten horns; ALL other people who are living on the earth at this time) whose names are NOT written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world”

Now. if your train of thought is focused on God creating or predestining some to be lost and some to be saved, then I can see how one might misinterpret this verse, and say that there are some whose names are NOT written in the Lambs book of life FROM the very foundation of the world.

But the truth of the matter is that this verse of scripture is speaking of the LAMB that is slain FROM the foundation of the world and NOT the fact the ONLY some names are WRITTEN in the book of life FROM the foundation of the world, while at the same time ALL the names of ALL the other people are NOT written in the book of life from the foundation of the world.

Now I personally believe that the truth of the matter is that EVERYONE'S name is WRITTEN in the Lambs book of life in the beginning, or FROM the foundation of the world and a name of any particular individual is ONLY BLOTTED OUT at the TIME when they DIE IF SO BE that this particular individual does not overcome the enemy in the END. In other words, the name of each individual will REMAIN written in the book of life, UNLESS that PARTICULAR individual were to DIE WHILE living IN SIN. And here are just a few verses showing WHY I lean toward believing this way.

Jesus says in Revelation 3:5,6.

“He that OVERCOMES, the SAME (Speaking of ONLY those who OVERCOME Satan and remain FAITHFUL to Almighty God unto the END, the SAME) shall be clothed in white raiment: and I will NOT BLOT OUT his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. 

6.  He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches.”

You see, since newborn babies and young children are INNOCENT before Almighty God, then I myself believe that from the time you are born and take your first breath, or more precisely the time you are conceived in your mother's womb, your name is written in the Lambs book of life. And it can NOT or will NOT be blotted out until you reach the age that God will hold you ACCOUNTABLE for the CHOICES that you make. Then after each person reaches that age in which God holds them accountable for choosing evil, each person must answer the CALL of God to be saved. And once a person BELIEVES and receives Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we have the promise that Jesus will NOT BLOT those of us who are FAITHFUL out of the Lamb’s book of life. In other words, until true born-again Christians take their last breath and die we are not yet JUDGED. So then, EVEN as Christians, our names COULD be blotted out, but ONLY IF OUR final CHOICE at death was to disobey God and choose sin, and then they died in that UNFAITHFUL state of living in a lifestyle of sin without repenting of their sin. That is the truth of the matter that the whole word of God clearly teaches.

YOU YOURSELF HAVE COMPLETE AND TOTAL CONTROL OVER WHETHER OR NOT YOUR NAME REMAINS IN THE BOOK OF LIFE OR IF YOUR NAME GETS BLOTTED OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE.

IT IS YOUR CHOICE!

Also, keep in mind that since God has CHOSEN from BEFORE the foundation of the world for SALVATION to come ONLY through his Son Jesus, then IF SO BE that YOU YOURSELF do NOT ANSWER his CALL OF THE GOSPEL to REPENT and call upon his name to be saved and you DIE having never RECEIVED this so great a salvation, then YOUR name will be BLOTTED OUT of the Lamb's book of life on that day.

Almighty God has set before you life and death, but He desires for you to choose LIFE. Therefore choose life by BELIEVING in His Son Jesus as your savior and OBEY the words of Jesus unto the END of your life and you shall receive the reward of ETERNAL LIFE.

Now some Christians may argue and say, NO, a person's name in not written down until that person accepts Jesus as their savior and I can see some truth in that. But also remember that a newborn baby and small children are INNOCENT before God well before they ever BECOME wicked by they themselves SINNING against God of their own free will. So, in truth, the INNOCENT children under the age of accountability do not need a Savior because infants and babies are not held accountable until the age in which God Himself chooses to hold each individual person accountable for their own sins. And, therefore, after each person reaches that age that God chooses to hold them accountable then they have the need of a Savior because THEY THEMSELVES have made the CHOICE to SIN. Keep in mind that it is a SIN to REJECT Jesus. Every person is without excuse because the very creation teaches them that there is a creator. God has given every person a CONSCIENCE.

So to ME, IF it is true that our names are written down WHEN one accepts Jesus as their Savior then this would ALSO mean that our names are written from before the foundation of the world before we are born, as well, seeing that babies are innocent before God. That would consequently mean that our names are BLOTTED OUT when we make the choice to disobey God and SIN, then they are REWRITTEN back into the book of life when we come back to the Lord when we accept Jesus as our savior, then they are BLOTTED OUT again each time we SIN, and then they are REWRITTEN back again when we repent of our sins and so forth and so on until the day we die. And then on the day we draw our last breath, it will be determined by God whether they are written or whether they are blotted our based solely upon whether we are found to be IN Christ at the time we die, or whether we have DEPARTED from God by living in SIN when we die and found to not have the blood of Jesus continually cleansing us from sin because we ourselves have not continued to walk in the light EVEN as our EXAMPLE Jesus has walked in the light.

My point is this, I myself, do not find any clear and plain passage of Scripture that plainly states as to WHEN our names are actually written in the Lamb's book of life. However, I do find here in Revelation 3:8 where the names of those in the CHURCH who do NOT overcome shall be BLOTTED OUT. And, therefore. this verse of Scripture gives us CLEAR and ample WARNING for us to strive with every fiber of our being to FIGHT the GOOD FIGHT of FAITH unto the END and OVERCOME the enemy so that our name will NOT be BLOTTED OUT of the Lamb's book of life, because Jesus our LAMB was SLAIN for the SALVATION of ALL of us from BEFORE the foundation of the world. I personally believe that at the CROSS God wrote every name or every person before and after the cross in the Lamb's book of life. I believe that every name REMAINS written in the Lamb's book of life UNTIL their Day of Judgment. And if they are found UNWORTHY to receive eternal life on their Day of Judgment then the names of the UNWORTHY will be blotted out of the Lamb's book of life.

Now some Christians may argue and say NO, man does not have the free will to CHOOSE God. Some Calvinists argue that those who have eternal life have been SPECIFICALLY ORDAINED or APPOINTED to eternal life by Almighty God and is that salvation has NOTHING to do with what a person CHOOSES to do or with what a person chooses not to do. In other words, those who believe the man-made doctrines of Calvinism and Reformed Theology argue that ONLY the names of the ELECT are written in the Lamb's book of life. Then they quote Acts 13:48 as their support for believing that God ORDAINS ONLY certain specific people to eternal life while all others are ORDAINED to the everlasting fire. Some Calvinists will go on to argue that God CHOOSES whosoever he will and NO MAN chooses God, and that God CHOSE who would be saved and who would not be saved BEFORE the foundation of the world. 

Here is what Acts 13:42 ACTUALLY says.

“And when the Gentiles HEARD THIS, they were GLAD, and glorified the WORD of the Lord: and as many as were ORDAINED to eternal life BELIEVED.”

Those that teach Calvinism and Reformed Theology place all the EMPHASIS on the word “ORDAINED” and make the CLAIM that this verse means that Almighty God CHOSE CERTAIN SELECT INDIVIDUALS from BEFORE that foundation of the world and ORDAINED ONLY these certain specific individuals to ETERNAL LIFE. In other words, ACCORDING to Calvinism, if you are not one of the lucky few who were “ORDAINED” to eternal life, then you are without hope and predestined to be destroyed in the eternal fire and there is NOTHING that you can do to CHANGE your destiny because your predestine destination has already been “ORDAINED” by Almighty God. 

But to ME, what kind of GOOD NEWS is that? This is NOT the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ who would have ALL men to be saved and that NONE should PERISH.

Now as I have said many times, any verse when taken OUT of CONTEXT and viewed ALONE and APART from the WHOLE word of God may SEEM or be INTERPRETED to say something that it is NOT truly saying.

The Greek word that is translated here as “ORDAINED” is the Greek word “TASSO” which means to APPOINT, to DETERMINE, to ORDAIN, to ARRANGE, to be DEVOTED, to be ESTABLISHED, and to SET.

And nowhere in the meaning of this Greek word “TASSO” or in the context of this verse of Scripture do we find that it DEMANDS that it is Almighty God who is the one that ordained, appointed, or that is to say “TASSO” these Gentiles to eternal life. This is just some Christians' INTERPRETATION and opinion that it was God who “TASSO” these Gentiles to eternal life from BEFORE the foundation of the world to be saved.

The TRUTH of the matter is that when this verse is LEFT in its CONTEXT then it becomes clear that it is these very GENTILES THEMSELVES that have SET THEMSELVES or have “TASSO” THEMSELVES to HEAR MORE of the WORD of God concerning ETERNAL LIFE. And then, after they heard MORE of the word of God the next Sabbath, then they BELIEVED the word of truth unto salvation. And then continued to believe and obey the word of truth unto the end in order to obtain eternal life that shall be given them in the world to come. And it is also clear that God PROPHESIED that the Gentiles were to be saved as well as the Jews. Let us read this verse again.

Acts 14:42.

“And when the Gentiles HEARD THIS, they were GLAD, and glorified the WORD of the Lord (WHAT did these Gentiles HEAR that caused them to be GLAD and give glory to God for his WORD? They heard the GOSPEL or the GOOD NEWS of God’s so great a salvation and they wanted to hear MORE about HOW to be saved) and as many as were ORDAINED to eternal life BELIEVED.”

Now ask yourself the question WHAT did these Gentiles HEAR that made them GLAD and begin to give God GLORY and thanks for his WORD? Did they hear the Calvinistic gospel, which says, come a listen, because you MAY or may NOT be chosen by God to be saved? Or did they hear the true gospel of Jesus Christ calling men everywhere to REPENT, be baptized in order to be saved? You will find the answer by LEAVING this verse in the CONTEXT of where it is found.

Please read Acts 13:38-47, which clearly teaches us that these Gentiles ORDAINED, that is to say, these Gentiles who HEARD this wonderful good news of God's desire to SAVE them as well as the Jew that the Gentiles were made GLAD and therefore they “ORDAINED” THEMSELVES to HEAR MORE of the WORD of God concerning ETERNAL LIFE and then the BELIEVED the word of TRUTH unto salvation and then continued to believe unto ETERNAL LIFE.

Acts 14:38-47.

“Be it known unto you, therefore, men AND brethren, that through this man (Jesus) is PREACHED unto you the forgiveness of sins: (In other words, the GOSPEL of salvation and the forgiveness of sins was being PREACHED to a mixed group of people that also included some who ALREADY believe)

39. And by him ALL that BELIEVE (Referring to all those who already believe to be persuaded to “TASSO” or to SET THEMSELVES to continue to believe and those who are HEARING this word of truth to “TASSO” to SET THEMSELVES to continue to hear MORE of God WORD that teaches that it is BY HIM to ALL WHO BELIEVE and CONTINUE TO BELIEVE who) are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. (Here we see that among those who already believe as well as those who have not believed as yet and that there are both Jews and Gentile who are being preached the GOSPEL)

40. Beware, therefore, LEST (Or for FEAR that) that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets; (What would be that point of God WARNING us to BEWARE if so be there is nothing that anyone can do to change their so-called “predestinated” destination of either heaven or the lake of fire? God is warning us to beware that we are not partakers of the wrath of God that is prophesied in the Scriptures)

41. Behold, you who despise, and wonder, and perish: (Or look and see that YOU do NOT PERISH because you yourself make the choice to DESPISE and DOUBT that Jesus is the Messiah prophesied to come) for I work a work in your days, a work which you shall in no wise believe, though a man declares it unto you. (In other words, God prophesied in His word that there would be some who when they heard the word would DESPISE and wonder if Jesus is the Messiah and thus reject Jesus and therefore PERISH. So God is WARNING us in advance who hear the work of God bringing to pass His word of prophecy that if we DESPISE and DOUBT the GOSPEL and REJECT the word of TRUTH, then we will PERISH)

42. And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles SOUGHT that these WORDS (Speaking of the GOSPEL of salvation to receive eternal life) might be PREACHED to THEM the next sabbath. (In other words, these Gentiles “TASSO” or ORDAINED THEMSELVES. In other words, these Gentiles made an APPOINTMENT and SET THEMSELVES to HEAR the GOSPEL on the next Sabbath day. Also, keep in mind that God ORDAINED that the GENTILES would be saved as well as the Jews. But before this time, the gospel was only preached to the Jews)

43. Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes FOLLOWED Paul and Barnabas: (In other words, many of the Jews BELIEVED the GOSPEL and FOLLOWED Paul and Barnabas to hear and learn more about Jesus) who, speaking to them, PERSUADED them to CONTINUE in the grace of God.

44. And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to HEAR the WORD of God.

45. But when the Jews (Speaking of the Jews who DESPISED and rejected the word of TRUTH, when THOSE doubting Jews) saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

46. Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the WORD of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing YOU put it from you, and judge YOURSELVES unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

47. For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set you to be a light of the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation UNTO the ENDS of the earth.

48. And when the Gentiles HEARD THIS, (Speaking of the good news of the GOSPEL that SALVATION was for THEM as well as the Jews and the word of warning that IF they TOO despised and rejected this so great a salvation that God would reject them as he rejected the UNBELIEVING Jews. So these Gentiles when they HEAR this GOOD NEWS of SALVATION was for THEM, they were GLAD, and glorified the WORD of the Lord: and as many as were ORDAINED to eternal life BELIEVED.” 

So again, it is NOT so much the WHO that God has ordained, but rather, it is that WHAT that God has ordained the GENTILES to RECEIVE as well as the Jew who BELIEVE will RECEIVE. And the WHAT that God has ORDAINED ALL the Gentiles who BELIEVE to receive in the world to come is ETERNAL LIFE. In other words, as many of them as were “TASSO” or as many of the Gentiles that made an APPOINTMENT and SET THEMSELVES to HEAR MORE of this GOSPEL concerning ETERNAL LIFE the next Sabbath BELIEVED unto salvation and continued to BELIEVE unto the END in order to obtain their reward of eternal life.

Anyone who is truly seeking the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of God can clearly see in verse 42 that it was the GENTILES THEMSELVES that BESOUGHT Paul and Barnabas that this Gospel of salvation be PREACHED to THEM the next Sabbath, which teaches us that AS MANY AS of these Gentiles who heard the WORD on this first Sabbath day and who MADE and APPOINTMENT and SET THEMSELVES or “TASSO” themselves to HEAR MORE of this Gospel of salvation. And then they came and HEARD MORE of the word of TRUTH, then BELIEVED and were saved or forgiven of all their sins.

Again, nowhere in the CONTEXT of this verse, NOR in the Greek word “TASSO” do we find a reason to DEMAND that ONLY CERTAIN of these Gentiles were FOREORDAINED from BEFORE the foundation of the world to be saved as some FALSELY teach. But RATHER, all through the word of TRUTH we see that when the CALL of the GOSPEL is HEARD, then it is left to the HEARER whether or not to ANSWER to CALL by RECEIVING the word of truth into his or her heart by BELIEVING and CONFESSING the word of TRUTH.

OR it is left up to the HEARER of the GOSPEL to DESPISE the gospel and, therefore, REJECT the word of truth and thus “TASSO” or SET THEMSELVES to NOT hear any more of the very word of truth that would MAKE them FREE. However, these particular Gentiles made the choice or “TASSO” themselves to CONTINUE to hear and obey the word of truth to be saved.

The TRUTH of the matter is that God CHOOSES RIGHTEOUSNESS and God does NOT choose WICKEDNESS. This is what BIBLICAL ELECTION truly means. So then, when we see the terms ELECT and ELECTION or CHOSEN ONES this means that the ELECT actually BECOME the ELECT because they themselves have made the CHOICE to CHOOSE RIGHTEOUSNESS of their own free will. And IF ANY of the ELECT make the CHOICE to TURN AWAY from RIGHTEOUSNESS and never return, then they will NO LONGER be CHOSEN by Almighty God because they themselves REJECT RIGHTEOUSNESS, in the END, to depart from God.

Now some of you who are Calvinistic Christians and grace alone Christians may be saying that this is WORKS based salvation and that the Bible clearly says in Romans 9:7-13 that God said that he LOVED Jacob but he HATED Esau BEFORE they were BORN.

Here is Romans 9:7-13.

“Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, IN Isaac shall your seed be called.

8. That is, They which are the children of the FLESH (Meaning that those who BOAST in the works of the Law of Moses contained in ORDINANCE and say I am a descendant of Abraham, therefore, I am CHOSEN by God. In other words, just because a person is a “natural-born” descendent of Abraham does NOT AUTOMATICALLY make that person CHOSEN by Almighty God to be saved under the New Covenant. To say this another way, the children of Abraham through the seed of Ishamel are NOT the children of God by the PROMISE that God gave to Abraham. The children of the FLESH ALSO means those who WORK INIQUITY) are NOT the children of God: but the children of the PROMISE are counted for the seed. (this means that ALL people, both Jews, and Gentiles BECOME the children of the PROMISE when they BELIEVE in Jesus as their Lord and Savior)

9. For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. (Speaking of the SECOND-born son Issac)

10. And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even BY our father Isaac;

11. (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the PURPOSE of God according to election might stand, (Speaking of Almighty God PURPOSING to CHOOSE the LAST, who having CHOSEN RIGHTEOUSNESS through faith in Jesus over the FIRST who have CHOSEN to REJECT the Messiah of God) not of WORKS, [The WORKS hear is referring to the WORKS of Abraham who through his OWN work conceived his FIRST born son, ISHMAEL. The WORKS here is ALSO speaking of the works of the Law of the commandments of God contained in ORDINANCES according to Ephesians 2:15, lest those keeping the Law of Moses have reason to BOAST and look down on others who are not keeping the Law of Moses contained in ORDINANCES] but of Him that CALLS;)

12. It was SAID unto her, The ELDER (Or the FIRST born) shall serve the YOUNGER.

13. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau I have hated.” 

Or the second or LAST born. The FIRST shall be LAST and the LAST shall be FIRST, many shall be CALLED, but FEW shall be CHOSEN is the PURPOSE of God that CALLS. To say this another way, the descendants of Ishmael and Esau are NOT the children of PROMISE, in that, God CHOSE that the gospel was to be preached to the Jews FIRST. Now, after God turned the gospel to the Gentiles, any Muslim can become one of the children of PROMISE by their FAITH in Jesus as their Lord and Savior the same as any Gentile BECOMING one of the children of promise by their FAITH in Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

But because God PROPHESIED in His word that the children of Esau will SERVE the remnant of the Jews in the world yet to come then God’s PURPOSE must be fulfilled.

Please understand that God does indeed foreordain SOME things, but everything that God does ordain has already been PROPHESIED in His word. But in no way does this mean that God predestines every single person to EITHER be saved or to be lost and that they have absolutely no CHOICE to either believe God's word or to reject God's word and thus their fate is sealed. This kind of man-made THEOLOGICAL meaning of “predestination” simply does NOT agree with the WHOLE word of God. For you see, it is NOT prophesied in the Scriptures that so and so will die in a tragic plane crash at the young age of 27. And thus, to me, it is adding to the word of God to wrongly teach that EVERYTHING that HAPPENS was ORDAINED by God to happen.

Paul is quoting from two different passages of Scripture in Romans 9:1-13. In other words, God did NOT hate Esau BEFORE Esau was born, but rather, God hated Esau AFTER Esau sinned against God. Keep reading and you will see this truth for yourself directly from the Scriptures.

Now take a look at Matthew 20:16, which teaches us that God has CHOSEN to choose the LAST OVER the FIRST and that the FIRST shall be LAST. Now it seems that God is following this pattern of choosing the SECOND-born male child OVER the FIRST-male child for reasons unknown to ME at this time. God CHOSE Issac OVER Ishmael. God CHOSE Jacob OVER Esau.

Matthew 20:16.

“So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.”

But WHY did God CHOOSE the LAST OVER the FIRST? WHY are many CALLED but only a FEW are CHOSEN? Please read Luke 13:22-31, which clearly teaches us that God ONLY CHOOSES those of us who CHOOSE the RIGHTEOUS of God through Jesus and that God will CAST those, who make the CHOICE of their own free will to be WORKERS of INIQUITY, into outer darkness.

Luke 13:22-31.

“And he (Jesus) went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.

23. Then said one unto him, Lord, are there FEW that be saved? And he said unto them,

24. STRIVE (Which means WORK with all your might) to ENTER IN at the strait gate: FOR (Or BECAUSE) MANY, I say unto you, will SEEK to enter in, and shall NOT be able.

25. When once the master of the house is risen up and has shut to the door, and you begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you NOT whence you are: (The when is speaking of AFTER the rapture of the church and the remnant of Israel and the UNFAITHFUL Christians living in sin are left behind. WHY? Why does Jesus NOT let them ENTER into ETERNAL LIFE? Was it because Almighty God made the CHOICE to NOT choose these specific individuals from BEFORE the foundation of the world BEFORE they were BORN having done neither evil nor good? OR was it because God CHOSE NOT to CHOOSE them for what they themselves CHOSE to DO, which was to be workers of INIQUITY? Keep reading, first, they make all kinds of EXCUSES, then Jesus tells them WHY they are WITHOUT EXCUSE!)

26. Then shall you begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in YOUR PRESENCE, and you have taught in our streets.

27. But he shall say, I tell you, I know you NOT whence you are; DEPART from me, all YOU WORKERS of INIQUITY.

28. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, IN the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

29. And THEY (ONLY the WORKERS of RIGHTEOUSNESS) shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down IN the kingdom of God.

30. And, behold, there are LAST which shall be FIRST, and there are FIRST which shall be LAST.”

God CHOSE His people ISRAEL at the FIRST, but we know that because ISRAEL did NOT CHOOSE the PLAN of the salvation of God that He CHOSE from BEFORE the foundation of the world, which is the SALVATION that comes ONLY THROUGH faith in His Son, Jesus, then God TEMPORARILY blinded the eyes of understanding of His CHOSEN people Israel. God did this to fulfill His word of prophecy to CHOSE to offer His so great a SALVATION to the Gentiles in order to provoke His chosen people Israel to jealousy. And ANY of those of the Gentiles AND the Jews who HEAR the GOSPEL of salvation and RECEIVE this word of truth into their heart and CONTINUE in the teachings of Jesus unto the END shall be given ETERNAL LIFE FIRST at the coming of Jesus.

Then at the second coming of Jesus, God will turn to His people Israel a second time whom He CHOSE at the FIRST. Let me say that again. God will once again for a second time when Jesus comes again turn the gospel to the REMNANT of Jews left alive at the second coming of Jesus. Then the remnant of Israel will call upon Jesus as their Savior and will be saved alive in their mortal bodies during the midst OF the wrath of God that follows immediately AFTER the 3 1/2 years of the great tribulation. And then during the 1000 year reign of Jesus many of Israel, who will still yet be in the MORTAL bodies, will be taught of the Lord. Then at the end of the 1000 year reign of Jesus, ONLY those who are found to be RIGHTEOUS during the Millennial reign of Jesus will be rewarded with ETERNAL LIFE at the white throne judgment. The FIRST shall be LAST and the LAST shall be FIRST means that the Jews will be the LAST to receive eternal life because the Jews rejected Jesus as their Messiah during THIS present world

The thing that we need to realize is the WHEN and the WHY that God CHOSE Jacob and did NOT choose Esau and keep in mind that God is referring to NATIONS and NOT INDIVIDUAL people is the CONTEXT of these passages of Scripture. Also, keep in mind that ANY from the nation that comes from the linage of Esau can still hear the gospel of Jesus Christ and be saved. There are many Muslims and Arabs today who are accepting Jesus as their savior. Please read where Paul is quoting from in the Old Testament when he writes to us in Romans chapter 9 about BEFORE Jacob and Esau were born and yet in the womb of Rebecca. Please read Genesis 25:21-26, which CLEARLY teaches us that God has NOT chosen one INDIVIDUAL over another INDIVIDUAL before the FOUNDATION of the world where neither INDIVIDUAL is chosen on the basis of having done neither good nor evil, but PLAINLY teaches us that TWO NATIONS are in the womb of Rebecca.

Genesis:21-26.

“And Isaac entreated the LORD for his wife because she was barren: and the LORD was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

22. And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it is so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of the LORD.

23. And the LORD said unto her, TWO NATIONS are in your womb, and TWO MANNER of people shall be separated from your bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the ELDER (Or the FIRST) shall serve the YOUNGER (Or the LAST, In other words, the FIRST shall be LAST and the LAST shall be FIRST, as in, the seed of Ishmael and Esau shall SERVE the seed of Jacob)

24. And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

25. And the FIRST came out red, all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name ESAU. (A different nation from the nation of Israel but they SAY they are Jews but they are NOT the children of Israel the same as the linage of Ishmael is NOT the children of Israel)

26. And AFTER (Or the LAST born of these two) that, his brother came out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel, and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bared them.”

Now WHEN does the word of God teaches us that God said that he LOVED Jacob, but HATED Esau. Was it BEFORE they were BORN? Or was it AFTER they BOTH lived a life before God showing God whom they would serve and OBEY?

 Please read Malachi 1:1-3, which says.

“The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi.

2. I have loved you, (Speaking of ISRAEL the NATION) says the LORD. Yet you say, Wherein have you loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? Says the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,

3. And I hated Esau and laid his MOUNTAINS (Speaking of the KINGDOMS, or the NATIONS of Esau) and his heritage (Speaking of his offspring) waste for the dragons (Referring symbolically to the devils, as in children of the Devil also called Satan that old red dragon) of the wilderness.”

So again, WHY did God hate or rather NOT CHOSE the nation of Esau? And WHY did God make the CHOICE to CHOOSE the nation of Jacob? I was BECAUSE they were TWO MANNER of PEOPLE. God CHOOSES the RIGHTEOUS because he LOVES RIGHTEOUSNESS. And God has PURPOSED to HATE or NOT CHOOSE the WICKED because that is what He Himself has PURPOSED to do.

All through the word of TRUTH we see God CHOOSING the RIGHTEOUS and REJECTING those who make the CHOICE to WORK INIQUITY. God did NOT specifically select or chose certain specific INDIVIDUALS from BEFORE the foundation of the world to be saved based on NOTHING they have done or have not done. What Almighty God has CHOSEN from BEFORE the foundation of the world is that SALVATION is IN His Son Jesus. We are GOD'S WORKMANSHIP created IN Christ Jesus UNTO GOOD WORKS and we are NOT saved by our OWN works of righteousness.

Some Christians read right over the places where we are SAVED for the PURPOSE of DOING GOOD WORKS of RIGHTEOUSNESS as if what we do after we accept Jesus does NOT matter and have ANYTHING to do with our actually RECEIVING the PROMISE of ETERNAL LIFE in the world to COME!

You see, my dear brothers and sisters, in the Lord our salvation is an ONGOING process throughout our entire lives and REQUIRES us to WORK the WORKS of God. And if you truly LOVE Jesus then you will KEEP his COMMANDMENTS which are CONDITIONAL for you to actually RECEIVE eternal life in the world to come.
