John 5:15-32.

“The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.

16. And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to SLAY him, because he had done these things ON the Sabbath day. (Here again, we see the Jews wanted to KILL Jesus, but this time it was because to them Jesus SUPPOSEDLY broke the Sabbath day, at least in the eyes of the Pharisees, when Jesus healed a man BY the Holy Spirit of Almighty God the Father ON the Sabbath day)

17. BUT Jesus answered them, My Father WORKS hitherto, and I work. (In other words, Jesus is saying BUT I am ONLY OBEYING what my Father is SHOWING me to DO. Further down in this study you will understand that this means that the Father through his Holy Spirit was showing Jesus what to do and when to do it and Jesus simply OBEYED the leading of the Holy Spirit. In simple words, Jesus was saying I am only doing what Almighty God my Father told me to do. So, in essence, Jesus is saying to the Jews, if you have a problem with me doing God’s work on the Sabbath day that He told me to do, then talk to God, not to me)

18. Therefore, (Or for this REASON of Jesus telling the Jews that it was his God and Father who is doing the WORK of healing these people) the JEWS sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the Sabbath but said ALSO that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. (In other words, the JEWS incorrectly interpreted the words of Jesus and FALSELY ACCUSED Jesus of making himself EQUAL to Almighty God. But as you will plainly see as you continue to read the CONTEXT that Jesus ANSWERED in his DEFENSE the FOLLOWING)

19. Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do NOTHING OF HIMSELF, but what he sees the Father do: for what things soever he does, these also does the Son likewise. (In other words, Jesus is saying, I am NOT making myself EQUAL with my God and Father as you are FALSELY accusing me of doing, because the SON can do NOTHING OF HIMSELF. But I must OBEY my God and Father to DO whatever my Father is DOING. That is to say, whatever Jesus the Son of MAN saw in a dream or in a vision or in the written word of God and whatever Jesus heard the Father say to do by the inward voice of the Holy Spirit, then Jesus simply OBEYED what he knew that the Father was telling him to do. This is what Jesus meant when he said his Father was WORKING on the Sabbath day, and so I also must work the same works that I see my Father doing. Now to ME, this DEFENSE that Jesus makes right after the Jews FALSELY ACCUSE him of making himself EQUAL with God clearly teaches us that Jesus was in NO WAY claiming to be the great I AM nor was Jesus making himself to be EQUAL with Almighty God the Father because Jesus HIMSELF clearly and plain said that the SON can do NOTHING OF HIMSELF. Further on you will learn that it was the Father DWELLING IN Jesus the SON who actually did the WORKS that the SON could NOT do OF HIMSELF)

20. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all things that HIMSELF does: and He will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

21. For as the Father raises up the dead, and quickens them; even so, the Son quickens whom he will. (WHY? Why will the Son be able to raise the dead and give eternal life to whosoever he chooses?)

22. FOR (Or BECAUSE) the Father judges no man but has COMMITTED  all judgment unto the Son:

23. THAT (Or so that) all men (Including the unsaved in the world to come) should HONOR the Son, EVEN AS, they HONOR the Father. He that honors NOT the Son honors NOT the Father which has SENT him. (In other words, the Bible teaches us that we must believe and have BOTH the Father AND the SON in order to have ETERNAL LIFE in the world to come. But yet the doctrine of the Trinity dogmatically demands their Trinitarian followers to believe that Jesus IS the I AM, as in, Jesus is ONE and the self SAME BEING as the GREAT I AM that I AM YAHWEH Himself. 

Yes, there is absolutely no doubt that Jesus came OUT FROM the one true and only ALMIGHTY God. But this fact of the word made flesh does not mean that Jesus IS the one true and ONLY ALMIGHTY God. You see, THE ALMIGHTY God has NO beginning and has NOT been BEGOTTEN, but Jesus the SON OF Almighty God was BEGOTTEN or brought into existence BY God. Yes, there is no doubt that Jesus came OUT FROM Almighty God by or through the spoken WORD of Almighty God. But again, this does NOT mean that Jesus is Almighty God YAHWEH Himself. For you see, God said, “I AM THAT I AM” and not just “I AM” . And the phrase translated as “I AM THAT I AM” LITERALLY means that Almighty God said “I SHALL BECOME who I am BECOMING” which could be interpreted that Almighty God HIMSELF literally BECAME a HUMAN BEING. BUT, in the light of the WHOLE word of God, we understand the God created all things by his very own spoken WORD that came forth out from His own MOUTH in the very SAME way. And we know that a tree that is created by the spoken word of God is NOT Almighty God Himself and a tree at the same time having two natures, one divine, and one natural. But yet, Trinitarian Christians interpret the word being made flesh as God the Son incarnating himself to become flesh and remain God at the same time having two natures, one divine, and one human. So AGAIN, please read “A TRINITARIAN DILEMMA-PHILIPPIANS 2:6” )

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, (Speaking of the HUMAN Son of MAN, Jesus, the SON OF Almighty God the Father whom Almighty God ANOINTED or EMPOWERED by DWELLING IN his SON Jesus) WHO (Speaking of Jesus the Son of MAN in whom DWELT his God and Father, the ETERNAL SPIRIT. That is to say the ANOINTED Son of MAN, Jesus) THROUGH the eternal Spirit (Speaking of the eternal Holy Spirit, Almighty God the FATHER himself, who is SPIRIT and who ALONE is IMMORTAL and who DWELT IN Jesus to endue Jesus with power from on high. In other words, Jesus THROUGH the power of the Holy Spirit) offered himself without spot TO God, (In other words, Jesus the Son of MAN, the HUMAN Jesus lived his life WITHOUT sin THROUGH the power and strength that he received by his God and Father who DWELT IN him to live his life without sin and die of the cross for our sins. And not only for our sins but also for the sins of the whole world so that WHOSOEVER believes might be saved. And NOW this SAME Holy eternal SPIRIT that DWELLS IN YOU as a believer shall) purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

Please read the study “HOW YOU CAN LIVE YOUR LIFE FREE FROM SIN!” But for now, I want you to see that here in this passage of Scripture, we learn once again that the Holy Spirit of Almighty God the Father is an ETERNAL SPIRIT. And that means that the Holy Spirit is a PERSON. And we have just learned from 1 Timothy 6:13-16 where we are clearly and plainly taught that Almighty God the Father ONLY has IMMORTALITY. And we know that Almighty God IS SPIRIT who ONLY has IMMORTALITY or has always been an ETERNAL SPIRIT. Therefore, the whole word of God clearly, and plainly teaches us that the ETERNAL Holy SPIRIT IS Almighty God the FATHER HIMSELF.

And clearly seeing that Almighty God the Father IS a PERSON then that also makes the eternal SPIRIT who dwells is us to be a PERSON and NOT just a mere IMPERSONAL “FORCE” or “POWER” that is used by Almighty God. For you see, the Holy Spirit IS the Father. The Holy Spirit dwelling IN us TEACHES us, which again shows us that the Holy Spirit IS a PERSON.

Please read 1 John 2:27.

“But the ANOINTING which you have received of him (Almighty God the Father) ABIDES (Or DWELLS) in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the SAME ANOINTING TEACHES you of all things, and is TRUTH, and is no lie, and even as it (Or He) has taught you, you shall abide in Him.”

The Bible teaches us that we are to LOVE the Holy Spirit, which again, proves to me, that the Holy Spirit is NOT an IMPERSONAL “FORCE” or “POWER” that is simply used by Almighty God.

Please read Romans 15:30.

“Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the LOVE of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;”

God IS SPIRIT and if we love God we have the LOVE of the SPIRIT and God DWELLS in us. Please read 1 John 4:8-16, which clearly teaches that the PERSON of Almighty God the FATHER DWELLS IN us as believers. Know you not that you are the TEMPLE of the HOLY SPIRIT?

1 John 4:8-16.

“He that loves not knows not God; for God is LOVE.

9. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

10. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

11. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

12. No man has seen God at any time. If we LOVE one another, God DWELLS IN us, and his love is perfected in us.

13. Hereby KNOW we that WE DWELL IN HIM, and HE IN us, BECAUSE He has given us of His SPIRIT. (It does not get any plainer or clearer than this, dear children of God. We KNOW that Almighty God the FATHER who is SPIRIT and who IS a PERSON or divine eternal being, DWELLS IN us. WHY? Or HOW do we KNOW this TRUTH? It is BECAUSE Almighty God has given us his very own self-same HOLY SPIRIT to DWELL IN us, which once and for all time proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that the Holy Spirit is a PERSON and NOT some IMPERSONAL so-called “FORCE” or “POWER” that is used by God like we use a tool or electricity)

14. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

15. Whosoever shall CONFESS that Jesus is the SON OF God, God DWELLS IN him, and he IN God.

16. And we have known and believed the love that God has to us. God is LOVE; and he that DWELLS (Or he that abides or walks) in love DWELLS IN God, and God IN him.”

Please read Romans 8:8-14 where we are IN the SPIRIT if so be that the Holy Spirit DWELL IN us.

Romans 8:8-14.

“So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9. But you are not in the flesh, but IN the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God DWELLS IN you. Now if any man has not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (This is NOT saying that Jesus IS the eternal Holy Spirit, but rather the SAME Almighty God the Father who DWELT in his SON Jesus has now come to DWELL IN us as BELIEVERS in the SON OF Almighty God. The word CHRIST means ANOINTING)

10. And if Christ (Or the ANOINTING of the Holy Spirit) be in you, the body is dead because of sin; (Meaning that your PHYSICAL BODY is still going to die) but the Spirit is life BECAUSE of RIGHTEOUSNESS.

11. But if the Spirit of Him (Speaking of the Spirit of Almighty God the Father) that RAISED up Jesus from the dead DWELL IN you, HE that raised up Christ (The ANOINTED ONE speaking of Jesus the SON OF Almighty God) from the dead (HE) shall ALSO QUICKEN your mortal bodies BY His Spirit that DWELLS IN you.

12. THEREFORE, (Or for this very reason), brethren, we are DEBTORS, NOT to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

13.  For (Or BECAUSE) if you live after the flesh, you shall DIE: but if you THROUGH the SPIRIT do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall LIVE. (Just like Jesus overcame sin THROUGH the ETERNAL SPIRIT and Almighty God his God and Father rewarded His human SON Jesus with ETERNAL LIFE, so shall we who OVERCOME sin like Jesus also be rewarded with ETERNAL LIFE in the world to come)

14. For (Or BECAUSE) as many as are LED by the Spirit of God, THEY are the sons of God.”

But those who are LED by the spirit of deception who do NOT overcome are the SERVANT of whom they serve. Plain and simple serve RIGHTEOUSNESS and you will LIVE. Serve SIN and you will DIE. Romans 8:16 teaches us that we can KNOW if we are saved and in the WAY of RIGHTEOUSNESS to receive eternal life.

Romans 8:16.

“The Spirit itself BEARS WITNESS with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”

The word translated as “itself” is translated as the SAME in the LITERAL. In other words, the Spirit in us whereby we cry Abba Father the SAME Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. The Holy Spirit has a WILL and GIVES us gifts of the Spirit to every man as HE WILLS. Please read 1 Corinthians 12:1-14 where we again see the writer INTERCHANGING back and forth the words “SPIRIT” and “GOD” because the apostles and disciples of Jesus UNDERSTOOD that the Holy SPIRIT is ONE and the SELF SAME divine eternal being or PERSON of Almighty God the Father.

1 Corinthians 12:1-14.

“Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have YOU ignorant

2. You know that YOU WERE Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as you were led. (Please notice that Paul is specifically addressing the Gentile Christians who once believed in many gods including “TRINITY” gods. Paul is saying to the former pagan Gentiles who are now Christians that to us as Christians there is ONE God in ONE person who alone is the Father)

3. Wherefore I give YOU to understand, (Speaking of the Gentile Christians. For you see, the Jewish Christians already understand that the ONE God is ONE person. But the Gentile Christians needed to be taught that the one God is one Spirit and) that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord but by the Holy Ghost.

4. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the SAME Spirit.

5. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the SAME God which works all in all.

7. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the SAME Spirit.

9. To another faith by the SAME Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10. To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another, diverse kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11. But all these WORKS that ONE and the SELF-SAME Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. (Now, when we compare this verse with verse 6 where the SAME God which WORKS ALL in all, then we can see that the SAME God and the SAME Spirit are ONE and the SELF-SAME BEING who IS the FATHER. But Jesus is NOT one and the self-same being as the Father. Jesus was made in the IMAGE OF his Father. Jesus is the firstborn of every CREATURE speaking of God’s NEW creation of righteous people who will inherit the new earth. Jesus is the firstfruits UNTO God)

12. For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. (Speaking of the ANOINTING, or the INDWELLING of Almighty God the Father IN his SON Jesus who is called the CHRIST, the ANOINTED ONE and NOT speaking of Jesus the SON OF God himself actually being that one and selfsame eternal SPIRIT himself)

13. For by ONE Spirit are we all baptized into one body, (Teaching us that we are baptized or submersed into ONE and the SELF-SAME ANOINTING as our Lord Jesus, THE CHRIST or the ANOINTED ONE, so then) whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into ONE Spirit. (And again, to all you Gentile Christians, that ONE SPIRIT is the ONE Almighty God the FATHER Himself who is the Father of ALL)

14. For the body is not one member, but many.”

This means that we all have different JOBS or works that the ONE SPIRIT leads and guides us to do. But the one body of Jesus Christ is also comparing the one body of the one Spirit which is the one God who alone is the Father. Keep in mind that Paul is specifically addressing the Gentile Christians who were once pagan Gentiles that worshipped many gods where each of their pagan gods had a different job. Paul is teaching the Gentile Christians that there is just ONE God in ONE person who gives each believer and EARNEST of His own self-same Spirit.

Here in this passage of Scripture the writer of 1 Corinthians INTERCHANGES the words and phrases:

Spirit OF God in verse 3

SAME Spirit in verse 4

SAME God in verse 6

BY the Spirit in verse 8

SAME Spirit in verses 8, and 9

ONE and the SELF-SAME Spirit in verse 11

ONE Spirit in verse 13

All of these phrases are speaking of the ONE and SELF-SAME Almighty God the FATHER of ALL who is SPIRIT.

We also learn from this passage of Scripture that there is just ONE Spirit who is the ONE God, as in, the one ALMIGHTY God who ALONE is the FATHER.

So all I am saying to those who claim that the Holy Spirit is NOT a person is to STOP GRIEVING the Holy Spirit by calling Almighty God HIMSELF an IMPERSONAL so-called “FORCE”. Almighty God who IS SPIRIT is NOT just some kind of so-called “FORCE”. We are WARNED NOT to GRIEVE the Holy Spirit of the Almighty God which proves that the Holy Spirit IS a person because you cannot GRIEVE an impersonal force. Please read Ephesians 4: 29,30 which teaches us to NOT let CORRUPT communication come out of our mouths.

Ephesians 4: 29,30.

“Let NO CORRUPT communication proceed out of your mouth, but (Or but rather speak only) that which is GOOD to the USE of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30. And GRIEVE NOT the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption.”

God has given us the “EARNEST” of His Spirit which has sealed us or marked us as belonging to God. The earnest of the Spirit of God is a PART of God and the Holy Spirit dwells in us can be grieved. And when you GRIEVE the Holy Spirit you GRIEVE Almighty God the Father. Know you not that you are the TEMPLE OF the LIVING GOD. It is Almighty God HIMSELF who DWELLS IN us as believers. You cannot GRIEVE some so-called IMPERSONAL “FORCE”. But you can and are GRIEVING the Father IN you by calling HIM an IMPERSONAL FORCE. So repent and REJECT that FALSE teaching that the Holy Spirit is just an IMPERSONAL “FORCE” or “POWER” that Almighty God uses like some kind of tool or electricity. REPENT and come out of those false teachings.
