Do ANY SCRIPTURES PROVE the EARTH is FLAT?SCRIPTURES THAT PROVE THE EARTH IS FLAT!A dear brother in our Lord Jesus Christ sent me a list of verses of Scripture that he sincerely believes teaches that the earth is FLAT. But, in TRUTH, do ANY verses of Scripture in the entire Bible even suggest that the earth is FLAT? Let us be HONEST with ourselves and with God. If you TRULY want to know what the Bible ITSELF teaches then I implore you to read this study with an OPEN mind and allow the Scriptures to interpret the Scriptures. This list of Scriptures that this brother in the Lord sent to me is used to TRY and prove that the earth is flat by using certain words that are found in the Bible that may seem to describe the earth as having LITERAL ENDS if so be one interprets those verses LITERALLY. There is a vast difference between LITERALLY believing the whole Bible from INTERPRETING the Scriptures in the Bible LITERALLY. I will say more on this in a moment, but first, I want you to understand that this list of verses is organized in categories of “words” used in the Bible that could be INTERPRETED as only being able to be applied to an earth that is FLAT only when those verses are interpreted LITERALLY. For example, there are two verses in the King James Version of the Bible that have the phrase “the FOUR CORNERS of the earth” which Christians, who believe that the earth is flat, argue can ONLY apply to an earth that is FLAT because everyone knows that a SPHERE has no corners. And the reason that they stand so firm in their belief that the earth is flat is that they interpret these verses of Scripture LITERALLY. Let me explain the difference between LITERALLY BELIEVING the word of God and INTERPRETING the word of God LITERALLY. When a Christian literally believes what the Bible teachers then, in truth, that means that they believe what verses of Scripture teach when they are CORRECTLY interpreted in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. In other words, to LITERALLY believe individual Scriptures that are taken out of their context does NOT mean that you can always INTERPRET all verses of Scriptures LITERALLY word for word as the INTENDED meaning given by Almighty God himself. Let me give you an example of WHY we must NOT interpret every verse of Scripture in the Bible LITERALLY. Please read John 10:20. “And many of them said, He (Speaking of Jesus) has a devil, and is mad; why do you hear Him?” When we read this verse left in its context we can see that Jesus is being falsely accused by many Jews that Jesus has a devil. Now, no truly born-again Christian would ever believe that Jesus has a devil. We know the TRUE meaning of the verse taken out of its context because we read the context. And that is why we must always LITERALLY believe the Bible but at the same time, we must NOT always believe every verse in the Bible LITERALLY word for word. We must always interpret a verse of Scripture in its CONTEXT. And THEN whatever interpretation we conclude from the IMMEDIATE context must be compared to other Scripture to see if our own personal interpretation agrees or disagrees with the REST of God’s word. In other words, all INTERPRETATIONS we conclude MUST never CONTRADICT any other verse in the Bible that has been correctly interpreted in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. With that being said let us now take a look at each category of “words” found in verses of Scripture that seem to IMPLY that the earth has been given BOUNDARIES when those verses are interpreted LITERALLY to mean LITERAL solid STRUCTURAL boundaries like a literal WALL or fenced-in enclosure all around the flat earth. BUT, when these SAME words are NOT interpreted LITERALLY as literal structural boundaries then we can see and understand the TRUE sound Biblical meaning in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. Here is the list of words and Scriptures that my brother in the Lord sent to me. We will take one word at a time. The first word is “boundary”. I will place his definitions in a different font style and then I will give you the FULL meaning of the word. The emphasis in the definitions is mine. Also, I will be using the King James translation but you can still see the correct sound Biblical meaning in almost any Bible translation. FLAT EARTH SCRIPTURE from the NASB version. NASB=BOUNDARY Strong’s H2706 prescribed limit, boundary. KJV=DECREE, COMMANDMENT, APPOINTED are the core meanings. Strong’s H2706, according to E-Sword. H2706 חֹק chôq khoke From H2710; an enactment; hence an appointment (of time, space, quantity, labor or usage): - appointed, bound, commandment, convenient, custom, decree (-d), due, law, measure, X necessary, ordinance (-nary), portion, set time, statute, task. Total KJV occurrences: 127. And here is how BlueLetterBible.org defines this Hebrew word. It is only used 2 times as bounds and never as a boundary to imply a literal physical obstruction that is impossible to go beyond. The KJV translates Strong's H2706 in the following manner: statute (87x), ordinance (9x), decree (7x), due (4x), law (4x), portion (3x), bounds (2x), custom (2x), appointed (1x), commandments (1x), miscellaneous (7x). I will insert the word “DECREE” used in the King James Version in verse 29 right after the NASB word “boundary”. NASAB-Proverbs 8:26-30 … While He had not yet made the earth and the fields, Nor the first dust of the world. “When He established the heavens, I was there, When He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep, When He made firm the skies above, When the springs of the deep became fixed, When He set for the sea its boundary (Or when he gave to the sea his DECREE) So that the water would not transgress (Or DISOBEY) His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth; Then I was beside Him, as a master workman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him,Now, to me, if God INTENDED his words in this passage of Scripture to mean a LITERAL physical impassable solid structural boundary such as a giant WALL of ICE completely surrounding the perimeter of a flat circular earth covered by a hard solid impenetrable dome then it would be impossible for the waters of the sea to TRANSGRESS God’s COMMAND. But when we interpret this verse as God giving DECREES to the literal physical sea to come so far and no further, as in, the TIDE of the sea then we can see that the BOUNDARY of the waters is controlled by God’s COMMAND for the waters to come so far inland and no further. And this interpretation agrees perfectly with Job 38:8-11 when Satan BREAKS or TRANSGRESSES against God’s DECREE to the seas to come so far and no further by causing violent storms to flood the shores with the HIGH waves of the sea. And then God CALMS the storm that Satan caused. Job 38:8-11. “Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth as if it had issued out of the womb? 9. When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddling band for it, 10. And brake up for it (Or when it breaks AGAINST) my DECREED place, and set bars and doors, 11. And said, Hitherto shall you come, but no further: and here shall YOUR proud waves be stayed?” Can you not see my dear “flat earther” Christian brothers and sisters in our Lod Jesus Christ, that God gave his COMMANDMENT to the seas to come so far and no further? Can you not see that the god of this present world system filled with his PRIDE causes the waters of the sea to TRANSGRESS the BOUNDARIES that God DECREED to the SEAS to come so far and no further? Can you not you see that God CALMS the storms that Satan causes? So to ME, the so-called BOUNDARIES of the earth have nothing whatsoever to do with some so-called giant ICE WALL that is supposedly surrounding the perimeter of the flat circular earth with a hard solid dome sitting on top of the ice wall covering the flat earth. Let us move on to the next verse used by “flat earther” Christians to try and prove that the earth is flat and is surrounded by the LITERAL PHYSICAL boundary of a giant ice wall and a hard solid impenetrable transparent dome. NASB-Job 38:8-11 …“Or who enclosed the sea with doors When, bursting forth, it went out from the womb; When I made a cloud its garment And thick darkness its swaddling band, And I placed boundaries on it. And set a bolt and doors, And I said, ‘Thus far you shall come, but no farther; And here shall your proud waves stop’? Again, we must read the whole context. Now if so be that the boundaries are indeed a high giant ice wall with a hard impenetrable dome covering the flat earth then it would be IMPOSSIBLE for the sea to burst forth and go BEYOND that LITERAL physical boundary. For you see, if the seas could not TRANSGRESS to go beyond their bounds of a giant ice wall then the whole flat earth would flood every time there is a hurricane. Let us move on to the next verse used to try and prove that the earth is flat just because some modern translations of the Bible use the word “BOUNDARY”. NASB- Ps 74:17 …You have established all the boundaries of the earth; You have made summer and winter. First of all, this Scripture says ALL the BOUNDARIES in the PLURAL. But yet, on the flat earth model, there is only ONE SINGLE continuous boundary which is the giant is wall surround the circular perimeter of the flat circular earth. The TRUE sound Biblical meaning of ALL the boundaries of the earth that God himself is referring to is right here IN this verse. In some places on the earth, there are two seasons of summer and winter. But other places on the earth have FOUR seasons. And the tropics only have one season. Now, the boundary in this verse is speaking of the border between the SEASONS. The summer and winter is more noticeable than the places on the earth that have four seasons where the borders between the SEASONS are more gradual and less noticeable. But none the less we can certainly see the difference between the spring of the year and the fall of the year. We can definitely see the difference between the summer and the winter. Also, another meaning of this Hebrew word means God has set all the REGIONS of the earth. God has made SUMMER and WINTER. And one wat to interpret this verse figurative is that God made life and death and it is APPOINTED for every person to die ONCE. That is a boundary we are all decreed to face. Also, please notice that it is NOT Strong’s number H2706 that the “flat earther” Christians started out with at the beginning of their list of Scriptures. And that to ME is a RED FLAG of concealing the truth. But it could have been an innocent error as well. Here is how E-Sword defines this Hebrew word. H1367 גְּבֻלָה גְּבוּלָה gebûlâh gebûlâh gheb-oo-law', gheb-oo-law' Feminine of H1366; a boundary, region: - border, bound, coast, landmark, place. Total KJV occurrences: 10 In other words, God DECREED certain seasons in ceratin REGIONS of the world. So again, the word “BOUNDARIES” has nothing whatsoever to do with solid physical structural impenetrable boundaries. Now, we already covered Proverb 8:29 above so I will skip over it and go to the next verse used to try and prove the earth is flat just because SOME Bible translations use words like “boundary” and “boundaries”. Prov 8:29 …When He set for the sea its boundary So that the water would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth; Job 26:10 ... NASB “He has inscribed a circle on the surface of the waters At the boundary (H8503) of light and darkness.” Job 26:10. KJV “He hath compassed the waters with bounds, (H8503) until the day and night come to an end.” Strong’s H8503 1. end, perfection, consummation, completion, completeness A. end B. completeness Again, I see some RED FLAGS here between the King James Version and the New American Standard Bible translations. The Hebrew word translated as “BOUNDS” in the King James Bible is NOT Strong’s H85003. Please take a look for yourself. Here are all the Strong’s numbers for each word in Job 26:10. Some words are compound words and that is why they have two Strong’s numbers after them. Job 26:10. “He hath compassed H2328 H5921 the waters H6440 H4325 with bounds, H2706 until H5704 the day H216 and night H2822 come to an end.H8503 Another meaning of H2706 is APPOINTED, as in, we as Christians are NOT APPOINTED to the WRATH of God which is what the CONTEXT of this verse is discussing. God set a boundary that protects us from his wrath IF we OBEY the commandments of Jesus under the New Covenant written in the NewTestament. The boundaries are DECREES of God and NOT literal physical structural boundaries. You see, when you understand that the word “WATERS” can also mean PEOPLE then you will see the TRUE sound Biblical meaning of this verse is that at the END of God’s plan of salvation the people of darkness have a different appointment decreed to them than the people of the light. God compassed the RIGHTEOUS people with an escape from his wrath. And at the same time, God compassed the wicked people with DECREES or appointed ENDS to suffer this wrath. Here, again, is what E-Sword says H2706 means, H2706 חֹק chôq khoke From H2710; an enactment; hence an appointment (of time, space, quantity, labor or usage): - appointed, bound, commandment, convenient, custom, decree (-d), due, law, measure, X necessary, ordinance (-nary), portion, set time, statute, task. Total KJV occurrences: 127 So then, when God’s plan of salvation comes to an END and all who will be righteous have come to full or to completeness at the SET TIME then the final Day of Judgment will take place to END darkness and wickedness for all eternity. Just to be sure that this is the correct sound Biblical interpretation of Job 26:10 let us read this verse left in its CONTEXT which is NOT talking about the CREATION of the earth but rather it is speaking of the DESTRUCTION of the earth in the great and notable DAY of the Lord. Please read John 26:9-14. “He holds back the face of his throne and spreads his cloud upon it. (This is Yahweh’s LONGSUFFERING holding back his WRATH) 10. He has compassed the waters with bounds UNTIL the day and night come to an END. (We already discussed this verse as meaning that God gave different decrees or appointments between the righteous and the wicked people until these decrees come to and END and only RIGHTEOUSNESS remains. For a more IN-DEPTH study on this verse please read the study “WHAT DOES JOB 26:10 TRULY MEAN?”) 11. The pillars of HEAVEN tremble and are ASTONISHED at his REPROOF. (Speaking of the SAINTS up in heaven or the SKY in the air with Jesus being ASTONISHED at the WRATH of Almighty God being executed by Jesus coming in CLOUDS of glory. Please read the TRUE meaning of the PILLARS of the earth in the study called “WHAT ARE THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH?”) 12. He divided the sea with his power, (Or he SEPARATES the waters of PEOPLE dividing the wicked from the righteous) and by his understanding (Knowing who are his) He smites through the proud. 13. By his spirit he has garnished the heavens; (Making the RIGHTEOUS in Jesus Christ as the STARS of heaven. Meaning that the righteous in Jesus Christ will be LIKE the ANGELS who are referred to as the morning STARS in Job 38:7 and many other places in the Bible. Please read Daniel 12:3 “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.” And I am sure you remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 22:30 that we shall be as the angels) his hand has formed (Or more CORRECTLY the HAND God who is Jesus is decreed by God to DESTROY) the crooked serpent. 14. Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? But the thunder of his power who can understand?” The word translated as “FORMED” in verse 13 saying that God formed the crooked serpent also means “DESTROYED” the crooked serpent which we know is speaking of the destruction of Satan the devil. Here is how E-Sword defines this Hebrew word. H2490 חָלַל châlal khaw-lal' A primitive root (compare H2470); properly to bore, that is, (by implication) to wound, to dissolve; figuratively to profane (a person, place or thing), to break (one’s word), to begin (as if by an opening-wedge); denominatively (from H2485) to play (the flute): - begin (X men began), defile, X break, defile, X eat (as common things), X first, X gather the grape thereof, X to take inheritance, pipe, player on instruments, pollute, (cast as) profane (self), prostitute, slay (slain), sorrow, stain, wound. Now, this list of verses is quite long so I will not cover each and every verse in this particular study in God's word. But the verses I do not cover in this study I will give you links to other in-depth Bible studies that I have written that do cover those verses. Before we move on to the next verse, I pray that you have clearly seen that EVERY single verse in the Bible that has the words, BOUNDARY, BORDER, and BOUNDS in them does NOT prove that the earth is FLAT. The word boundary does NOT prove that the flat earth is surrounded by a giant ICE WALL that has a hard solid impenetrable dome sitting on top of the ice wall covering the flat earth. The ENDS of the earth would have to be LITERAL ENDS which would then require the flat earth to be a square having sides. But a circle only has ONE END and ONE boundary. So all you “flat earther” Christians are now accountable to the TRUE SOUND Biblical meanings of these verses now that you have seen the true correctly interpreted meaning of these verses in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God being left in their CONTEXT. Let us move on to the next word which is “BREADTH” of the earth which “flat earther” Christians INTERPRET as “... And they came UP onto the FLAT earth and surrounded the camp of the saints…” in Revelation 20:9. In other words, to “flat earther” Christians the word “breadth” means FLAT earth. Here is their definition of Strong’s H7338. BREADTH / EXPANSE OF THE EARTH Strong’s H7338 breadth, broad or wide expanse NASB-Job 38:18 …“Have you understood the expanse of the earth? Tell Me, if you know all this . Job 38:18 from the PESHITTA translation of the Bible …have you seen the whole breadth of the earth Revelation 20:9 …And they came UP on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them. Again, “flat earther” Christians INTERPRET these words. “expanse”, “breadth”, and “broad plain” of the earth as the earth being FLAT but yet none of these words demand the meaning of FLAT. For example, the EXPANSE of heaven does not demand that heaven is FLAT. Also, the words, translated as the earth also mean the LAND. And the CONTEXT of Job 38:18 is speaking about the coming WRATH of Almighty God upon a BROAD PLACE called in the Hebrew tongue ARMAGEDDON. The same is true of Revelation 20:9. I cover both of these verses in detail in their context in the studies called “IS THE EARTH A SPHERE CALLED THE GLOBE?” and “MEANING OF THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH!” But for now, open your Bible and read the context of Revelation 20:9 to see that this verse is speaking of a future war that will be fought IN the LAND of Israel by people from the land of God and Magog and NOT upon the face of the whole surface of the earth. Then read about the great HAILSTONES in the book of Revelation and compare those verses with Job 38:22,23 which is the CONTEXT of Job 38:18. Job 38:22,23. “Have you entered into the treasures of the snow? Or have you seen the treasures of the hail, 23. Which I have RESERVED against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?” The DAY of battle and war is referring to the Battle of Armageddon in the LAND of Israel and the day of war is referring to the SAME place in the LAND of Israel where the FINAL war will be fought at the END of the 1000 year long great and notable DAY of the Lord. So then, according to the Bible ITSELF, none of the verses that have the words “breadth”, “expanse” and “broad plain” in them prove that the earth is FLAT. Take a look that the “PLATEAU” next to the valley of Megiddo or Armageddon. “And they came UP onto the FLAT of the LAND to surround the camp of the saints” which is a perfect description of the ancient fortified PLATEAU at the edge of the valley of Armageddon. Watch the less the two-minute video. Let us move on to the next word used by “flat earther” Christians to try and prove that the earth is flat which is the CENTER of the world. And they argue that ONLY the flat earth has a CENTER. But not every Bible translates the Hebrew word a CENTER of the WORLD. CENTER Strong’s H2872: center, midst, navel, highest part NASB-Ezek 38:12 …to capture spoil and to seize plunder, to turn your hand against the waste places which are now inhabited and against the people who are gathered from the nations, who have acquired cattle and goods, who live at the center of the world.’ Another error that causes Christians to incorrectly interpret some verses of Scripture is that the FOCUS upon ONE word in a verse of Scripture so much that they blind themselves to all the other words in that verse of Scripture. Simply read the other words in this verse along with the context and you will see that the PEOPLE gathered from all nations is speaking of the children of ISRAEL who do NOT live at the NORTH POLE which is the CENTER of the FLAT earth model. Can you not see that the TEACHERS of the FLAT earth have made many ERRORS in their INTERPRETING the Scriptures? How MANY of their errors must you see until you see the TRUTH of the whole word of Almighty God? Let us move on to the next word used by “flat earther” TEACHERS to try and prove to unsuspecting Christians that the earth is flat. CIRCLE Strong’s H2329 Circle, circuit, compass, BDB vault I think that the abbreviation BDB refers to the Browns-Driver-Briggs Lexicon. And to ME, if you have to point out by name a specific Lexicon that has the meaning “VAULT” then I would be very cautious to build a church doctrine on the word “VAULT” as dogmatically meaning a hard solid impenetrable DOME covering the flat earth and dogmatically demand that the word “VAULT” can not have any other meaning. Please understand that the word “vault” could just as easily mean the ARCH is the SKY during the day AND during the NIGHT SKY. For you see, when a pole vaulter VAULTS over the bar he or she does so in an ARCH shape action and NOT in a dome-shaped action. Now that you can see that the word “vault” does not dogmatically mean dome let us take a closer look at the verses used to try and prove the earth is flat. Job 22:14 …“Clouds are a hiding place for Him so that He cannot see; And He walks on the vault of heaven.” According to “flat earth” Christians the vault is the dome covering the earth and NOT the vault of HEAVEN where God dwells. I cover all three of these verses in detail in the in-depth study “IS THE EARTH A SPHERE CALLED A GLOBE?” And for that reason, I will just point out a FEW things in this study so you can see some errors of interpretation made by the “flat earther” TEACHERS. Prov 8:27 …“When He established the heavens, I was there, When He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep,” The Hebrew word “deep” also means the abyss which can mean FLOOD water, the depth of the ocean, and the vast expanse of Outerspace. The abyss can also mean the bottomless pit. Now, I personally believe that this particular verse is speaking about the earth BECOMING void and empty during the Luciferian FLOOD. You see, the Genesis creation account is God RESTORING or recreating the surface of the earth to become INHABITABLE once again. That is WHY you do NOT see God creating ANY WATER. The word “inscribed” means to DECREE a circuit or course AGAINST the FLOOD waters to come so far and no further. Please read verse 29 which is part of the context. Proverbs 8:29. “When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should NOT pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations (Or when God decreed to RULES) of the earth:” The core root meaning of foundations of the earth is God FOUNDING the outcome of the earth and its inhabitants. Here is the core root meaning of this Hebrew word. H3245 יָסַד yâsad yaw-sad' A primitive root; to set (literally or figuratively); intensively to found; reflexively to sit down together, that is, settle, consult: - appoint, take counsel, establish, (lay the, lay for a) found (-ation), instruct, lay, ordain, set, X sure. Total KJV occurrences: 43 Most verses have the PLURAL word FOUNDATIONS of the earth because God set down MANY rules and instructions to Satan and the fallen angels of what they could do and could not do. Now, if so be that the earth is sitting on a literal structural foundation then no verses would have the PLURAL word for many foundations. Let us move on to the last verse that has the word “circle” in it. Isa 40:22 … “It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.” Please read the study “WHERE IN THE THRONE OF GOD LOCATED IN HEAVEN?” In that study, you will learn that there are actually THREE circles. The circle of the earth itself. The circle ABOVE the earth. And the circle above that circle which is the circle that God dwells upon. Let us move on to the next word which is the phrase “the FOUR CORNERS of the earth” FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH / LAND Isaiah 11:12 … “And He will lift up a standard for the nations And assemble the banished ones of Israel, And will gather the dispersed of Judah From the four corners of the earth.” In the studies “IS THE EARTH FLAT?” and “MEANING OF THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH!” I cover all the verses that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the four corners are NOT LITERAL corners but rather they are the four CARDINAL DIRECTIONS of the earth, the north, the south, the east, and the west. In other words, the four corners of the earth simply mean the WHOLE earth, from one END of the earth to the other END of the earth. And the END of the earth simply means from coast to coast and NOT some LITERAL end that cannot be gone past. Ezekiel 7:2 … “And you, son of man, thus says the Lord God to the land of Israel, ‘An end! The end is coming on the four corners of the land.” Revelation 7:1 … “After this, I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, (Or LAND to the north, south, east, and west of the LAND of Israel) holding back the four winds of the earth, so that no wind would blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree.” Revelation 20:8 … “When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison, and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, (Or LAND to the north, south, east, and west of the LAND of Israel) Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore.” Again, please read the two studies linked above to see the MANY ERRORS of interpretations made by “flat earther” TEACHERS. Some of which are not even Christians. Please understand that not ALL “flat earthers” are Christians. And the Bible says that spiritual things can only be known and taught by the Holy Spirit which the unsaved do not have. Let us move on to the next word used to try and teach that the earth is flat and covered by a hard solid impenetrable dome. CURTAIN (Strong’s H1852—veil, curtain) occurs only one time in either KJV or NASB And again, it is NOT wise to build a doctrine on a word that only occurs ONE time in the entire Bible. Isa 40:22 … “It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain** And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in” Now, to ME, the words “curtain” and “tent” do not sound like they are describing a hard solid impenetrable DOME covering the flat earth. But rather these words fit the description of the CLOUDS in the firmament of the first heaven called the sky or the ATMOSPHERE that has many THIN layers of AIR. For you see, the clouds can be THIN like a curtain. Or the cloud coverage can change to be more of a covering like a fragile tent blown in the wind. Also, STORM clouds that form low and dark over the whole sky could be described as a ROOF over the earth. And ALL these conditions can exist at the same time in different parts of the earth whether flat or spherical. Also, this CURTAIN of heaven could be speaking of the constellations in the stars. For you see, the constellation of the KING looks like a TENT. Please read the in-depth study that is devoted specifically to this verse. The study is called “WHAT DOES ISAIAH 40:22 TRULY MEAN?” And if you are curious about the constellation of the Kind sitting on a THRONE with another throne at his right-hand side then please read the study “WHERE IS THE THRONE OF GOD LOCATED IN HEAVEN?” But for now, let us move on t the next word used to tray and teach that the earth is flat and it is covered by a hard solid impenetrable dome. DOME Strong’s H92 1. band, binding A. cords, bands, thongs (metaphorical of slavery) B. bunch of hyssop C. band of men, troops D. vault (of the heavens), firmament (binding earth to the heavens) Amos 9:6 …“The One who builds His upper chambers in the heavens And has founded His vaulted dome over the earth, He who calls for the waters of the sea And pours them out on the face of the earth, The Lord is His name.” Now, when you read this verse from a NEW modern REVISED translation of an earlier MODERN translation then there is no other way to interpret this verse using ONLY that particular Bible TRANSLATION because the word “DOME” is literally IN this NEW American Standard Bible. But what some “flat earther” unsuspecting Christians do not know is that the NASB is a REVISED edition of the ASV or the American Standard Version of the Bible which did NOT have the word dome in it. Here is what the EARLIER ASV says in Amos 9:6. “[it is] he that buildeth his chambers in the heavens, and hath founded his vault upon the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth; Jehovah is his name.” You need to understand that there is only ONE Hebrew word that has the Strong’s number H92 in the original text so it is not HONEST to translate it TWICE like the NEW American Standard Version has done to CHANGE vault to now read vaulted DOME. Can you not see that some modern translations have their own AGENDA BIAS. And you can see how subtle some of these modern translations are by their making just small changes at first and then making another change later after Christians get used to the first changes. Every false teaching has its OWN BIAS translation of the Bible. I myself believe that even the King James Version of the Bible is BIAS toward the doctrine of the Trinity. But that is another study. Let us continue with the next word used to try and prove the earth is flat. ENDS OF EARTH
The phrase “the end of the earth” simply means the WHOLE earth. Look at Job 37:3. It says under the WHOLE heaven there is lightning. The ends of the earth on the SPHERICAL earth simply mean that God sends the rain all the way around the entire GLOBE of the earth. One has to FORCE the word “end” to LITERALLY mean a giant ice wall surrounding the flat earth covered by a hard solid impenetrable dome covering the flat earth. And by claiming that the ENDS of the earth are at the ice wall then that must mean that there is lightning ONLY at the ENDS of the earth. So then, in all honesty, does every verse in the Bible that has the phrase “the ends of the earth” dogmatically mean a LITERALLY PHYSICAL BORDER around the perimeter of the flat earth? Can the LITERAL physical ENDS of the earth receive salvation? Please consider ALL the above which are clearly MANY ERRORS of interpretation made by “flat earther” TEACHERS as you read the following two verses of Scripture. Psalm 67:7. “God shall bless us; and all the ENDS of the earth shall FEAR him.” Can a LITERAL physical END fear God? NO! The ENDS of the earth simply means the WHOLE earth and in all the inhabitants of the earth will fear God in the world to come. Psalm 98:3. “He has remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.” Can LITERAL physical ENDS of the earth see the salvation of God? This verse is simply speaking about God’s mercy and truth towards Israel and ALL the inhabitants of the WHOLE earth. Psalm 135:7 “He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he makes lightnings for the rain; he brings the wind out of his treasuries.” Do the VAPORS just ascend at the literal ENDS of the earth ONLY? Or do vapors ascend into the atmosphere over the surface of the WHOLE earth? Proverbs 17:24. “Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.” Are there fools ONLY at the LITERAL physical ENDS of the earth? Or are there foolish people scattered about all over the WHOLE earth? How many END does a flat CIRCLE have if so be the ENDS of the earth must, without fail, be LITERAL physical ENDS. Now, to ME, every single verse that the “flat earther” TEACHERS use to deceive good honest Christians to believe that the earth is flat. And that the ends of the earth MUST be some giant ice wall with a hard solid impenetrable dome covering the flat earth can just as easily be interpreted to FIGURATIVELY mean the WHOLE earth. It is ONLY when Christians dogmatically demand that the word “END” be LITERALLY interpreted as a LITERAL PHYSICAL END and they REFUSE to believe any other interpretation that those Christians deceive themselves. And for that reason, I will not cover the many verses below that have the phrase “the ENDS of the earth” in them. To ME, they ALL simply mean the WHOLE earth. So let us skip down to the next word used to try and teach that the earth is flat. I will point out some things that “flat earther” Christians seem to read right over because they are focusing only on the one phrase “the ENDS of the earth”. Does God ONLT LOOK at the ENDS of the earth? Is EVERYTHING at the ENDS of the earth? You get the idea. Read the verse again for yourself and you will see that you have been LIED to. Job 28:24 …“For He looks to the ends of the earth And sees everything under the heavens. (So ONLY the LITERAL PHYSICAL ends is where EVERYTHING is located) Job 37:3 …“Under the whole heaven, He lets it loose, And His lightning to the ends of the earth. (Is the whole heaven only over the literal physical ends of the earth?) Job 38:13 …That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it? (Are just the literal ends of the earth going to be shaken in the wrath of God or is the whole earth going to tremble?) Ps 2:8 …‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, Ps 19:4 …Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their utterances to the end of the world. In them He has placed a tent for the sun, Ps 22:27 …All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, And all the families of the nations will worship before You. (Do all the families of the earth live on the so-called ICE WALLS at the ENDS of the earth?) Ps 48:10 …As is Your name, O God, So is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness. Ps 59:13 … Destroy them in wrath, destroy them that they may be no more; That men may know that God rules in Jacob To the ends of the earth. Ps 61:2 … From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. (Do we have to travel to the LITERAL ends of the earth t pray to God when our hearts are faint?) Ps 65:5 … By awesome deeds You answer us in righteousness, O God of our salvation, You who are the trust of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest sea; Ps 67:7 …God blesses us, That all the ends of the earth may fear Him. Ps 98:3 … He has remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; Ps 72:8 … May he also rule from sea to sea And from the River to the ends of the earth. (Or God rules all the LAND from coast to coast and from the river to the end of the land) Ps 135:7 … He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; Who makes lightnings for the rain, Prov 30:4 … He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; Who makes lightnings for the rain, Who brings forth the wind from His treasuries. Isa 24:16 …From the ends of the earth we hear songs, “Glory to the Righteous One,” But I say, “Woe to me! Woe to me! Alas for me! The treacherous deal treacherously, And the treacherous deal very treacherously.” Isa 41:5 …The coastlands have seen and are afraid; The ends of the earth tremble; Isa 41:9 …You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its remotest parts Isa 42:10 …Sing to the Lord a new song Sing His praise from the end of the earth! Isa 42:28 …Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. is understanding is inscrutable? (Or simply the creator of the WHOLE earth) Isa 43:6 …“I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Isa 45:22 …“Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other. Isa 48:20 …Go forth from Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans! Declare with the sound of joyful shouting, proclaim this, Send it out to the end of the earth; Say, “The Lord has redeemed His servant Jacob.” Isa 52:10 …The Lord has bared His holy arm In the sight of all the nations, That all the ends of the earth may see The salvation of our God. Isa 62:11 …Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth, Say to the daughter of Zion, “Lo, your salvation comes; Behold His reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him.” Jeremiah 16:19 …O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. Jeremiah 25:31 ... ‘A clamor has come to the end of the earth, Because the Lord has a controversy with the nations. He is entering into judgment with all flesh; Jeremiah 25:33 …“Those slain by the Lord on that day will be from one end of the earth to the other. They will not be lamented, gathered or buried; they will be like dung on the face of the ground. Jeremiah 51:16 … When He utters His voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, Daniel 4:11 …The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth: (This is a DREAM, as in this dream is a VISION form God. There is no LITERAL tree and the end of the earth means the end of the LAND of Nebuchadnezzar's kingdom is know all across the LAND) Micah 5:4 … And He will arise and shepherd His flock In the strength of the Lord, In the majesty of the name of the Lord His God. And they will remain Because at that time He will be great To the ends of the earth. (Great TO just only the LITERAL ends of the earth or to the WHOLE earth?) Matthew 4:8 …Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And WHERE is that high mountain today if so be it was a LITERAL mountain. Jesus was tempted in all points LIKE AS we are tempted and Satan has never transported me LITERALLY to another place to be tempted. Satan simply tempts us with THOUGHTS in our MIND. Let us move on to the next word that “flat earther” TEACHERS love to use to try and prove the earth is NOT a SPHERE that rotates on its tilted axis and revolves around the sun. FIXED EARTH 1 Chronicles 16:30 … “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable.” Here is 1 Chronicle from the King James Version. “Fear before him, all the earth: the WORLD ALSO shall be stable, that it be not moved.” Or the INHABITANTS of the world ALSO will remain so that they all will not be removed or cast out. Psalm 93:1 “Thou hast fixed the earth immovable and firm ...” Again, the Hebrew word translated as the earth in the NASB is translated as “WORLD” in the KJV which also means the INHABITANTS of the world are ORDAINED to stand, remain, or not complete cast out to become empty as it did in the Luciferian flood during the war between Lucifer and God. Psalm 96:10 “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable ...” Psalm 96:10 from the King James Version. “Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the WORLD ALSO shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.” In other words, God will judge the earth BY the man Jesus Christ and Jesus will have the WORD he spoke to judge all men RIGHTEOUSLY. And only the disobedient to the words spoken by Jesus in the New Testament under the NEW covenant will be CAST OUT of the earth into the lake of fire to be eternally destroyed. And only the RIGHTEOUS in Jesus Christ will be ESTABLISHED to remain. Then God will create the new earth that will forever remain to be inhabited by righteousness. Psalm 104:5 “Thou didst fix the earth on its foundation so that it never can be shaken.” Yet, other verses of Scripture clearly prophesy that the earth WILL be shaken. And not just the earth only but the heavens also will be shaken. In fact, this prest earth will pass away. We know that God’s word will never contradict itself. And God’s word also says that God HANGS the earth upon NOTHING. And if we interpret all the verses of Scripture with the word “FOUNDATION” in them as being a LITERAL STRUCTURAL foundation that the earth is LITERALLY fastened to then we make the Scriptures CONTRADICT each other. In TRUTH, the Hebrew word translated as a foundation in this particular verse means BASIS, PLACE, and ABODE of the earth to never be removed forever. God created the earth to remain and be INHABITED. Isaiah 45:18 “...who made the earth and fashioned it, and himself fixed it fast...” Isaiah 45:18 left IN its CONTEXT. “For thus says the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed (Or God himself that DETERMINE and PURPOSED) the earth and made it; (Or the watches over it) he has ESTABLISHED it, (Or he has ORDAINED it for a REASON) he created it NOT in VAIN, he formed it (Or God himself that DETERMINE and PURPOSED) to be INHABITED: I am the LORD; and there is none else.” ALL of these verses simply mean that God created the earth NOT in VAIN but rather for the earth to REMAIN and be INHABITED. None of these verses have anything to do with the earth being MOTIONLESS and STATIONARY sitting on a LITERAL structural foundation Those meanings of the STATIONARY earth are read into the text. The Bible teaches us that God will turn the earth UPSIDE DOWN but that does NOT mean that God will LITERALLY turns the PHYSICAL earth upside down. Isaiah 24:1. “Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty, and makes it waste, and turns it UPSIDE DOWN, and scatters abroad the inhabitants thereof.” Can you not see that God’s word in the original text will never contradict itself. God created the earth NOT in VAIN but to be INHABITED and then turns around and says he will make the earth EMPTY. Something is wrong will one of these translations. Isaiah 21:1 should have been translated as follows. “Behold, the LORD makes the LAND empty, and makes it (The COUNTRY) waste, and turneth it (The INHABITANTS of the land) upside down, (But NOT in a good way like in Acts 17:6 when the disciples turned the whole world UPSIDE DOWN with the Gospel of Jesus Christ) and scatters abroad the inhabitants thereof.” God uses FIGURATIVE language all through the entire Bible even when it seems like it is just a historical account God hide PROPHETIC language in literal historical accounts. Let us move on to the next word used to try and prove the earth is flat and it LITERALLY SITS on a LITERAL structural foundation. But then, what does the so-called LITERAL foundation sit upon to hold up the foundation? Can you not see that a LITERAL structural foundation MUST sit on something FIRM to hold it up? The earth does NOT sit on a literal structural foundation. But rather, the earth is FOUNDED or held in place BY the COMMAND of God spoken word that ORDAINED the end, as in, the outcome at the end of God's plan of salvation. FOUNDATION Since I have already covered these “foundation” verses in detail in the study called “IS THE EARTH SITTING ON A FOUNDATION?” I will just briefly say that the foundation of the earth is God’s SPOKE word of ORDAINMING the outcome of the physical earth AND its INHABITANTS. Some of the verses below are correctly translated as the foundation of the WORLD. You see, Jesus was ORDAINED to be SLAIN before the foundation of the world. The chief cornerstone was ORDAINED to be laid at the foundation of the world. In other words, the foundation can a BEGINNING and does not dogmatically mean a LITERAL STRUCTURAL foundation. Let us skip over these “foundation” verses to the next verse used to try and teach that the earth is flat. Most of the verse us the PLURAL word FOUNDATIONS which means more the ONE foundation. To ME, that is a CLUE that God is NOT speaking of a LITERAL STURCURAL foundation that the earth sits upon. That INTERPRETATION of the earth SITTING on a literal foundation CONTRADICTS God saying that he HANGS the earth upon NOTHING. 2 Samuel 22:16 …“Then the channels of the sea appeared, The foundations of the world were laid bare By the rebuke of the Lord, At the blast of the breath of His nostrils.Job 38:4-6 …Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the cornerstone thereof;Ps 82:5 …They do not know nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are shaken.Psalms 104:5 …He established the earth upon its foundations, So that it will not totter forever and ever.Yes, the “flat earther” TEACHERS will argue that the foundations in the plural are the four corners or the PILLARS of the earth. But in TRUTH, you will find that the foundations of the earth are the RIGHTEOUS SAINTS if you are truly seeking the truth of the whole word of Almighty God. Start with the study called “WHAT ARE THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH?” It is really easy to see that the PILLARS of the earth are the SAINTS.Prov 8:26-30 …While He had not yet made the earth and the fields, Nor the first dust of the world. “When He established the heavens, I was there, When He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep, When He made firm the skies above, When the springs of the deep became fixed, When He set for the sea its boundary So that the water would not transgress His command, When He marked out (Or when he APPOINTED or ORDAINED) the foundations of the earth; Then I was beside Him, as a master workman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him,Isa 24:18 …Then it will be that he who flees the report of disaster will fall into the pit, And he who climbs out of the pit will be caught in the snare; For the windows above are opened, and the foundations of the earth shake. (Or even the SAINTS are moved with fear of what is coming upon the earth. Jesus said, Shall I find faith on the earth when I come?)Isa 51:13 …That you have forgotten the Lord your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens |
