SPELLING EDITED Y-2. MORMONISM VERSUS BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY! What is Mormonism? Those in the Mormon church which is also called The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints or Mormonism or the LDS Church call themselves Christians. According to Mormons, the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints or Mormonism does not belong to a “cult”. The following is a QUOTE taken from an official Mormon website: Mormons make the claim that sadly, “the label of “cult” is often used to criticize or demean the faith of others with different opinions. Many people apply this label to Mormons due to misinformation or ignorance. Mormons are properly known as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mormons belong to the fourth largest Christian faith in the United States that is growing steadily throughout the world. In fact, more Mormons live outside than inside the United States. At the center of the Mormon Church is Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Redeemer of all mankind. Whenever Mormons pray to God, they do so in the name of Jesus Christ. Baptism in their faith is by immersion, according to the symbolism of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection marks a person’s entrance into the Church. The “sacrament” (what other Christian traditions call “communion”) is administered weekly in Sunday services as members reflect on the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Mormons translate their belief into practice by serving each other and the wider community, including the poor and needy. They give of their time and money to numerous humanitarian aid efforts as one way of following Christ’s teachings. For Mormons, being a Christian means being a disciple of Jesus Christ, loving and worshiping Him above all. It means centering one’s life on Christ’s teachings from the New Testament. It means striving to live the kind of life that honors Jesus Christ in word and deed. This is the meaning of being a Christian.” Again, all of the above claims are from a MORMON website. And honestly, I would have to agree, the Mormons that I have actually meet do indeed SEEM to be Christian in their bearing good fruit. For example, some Mormons are very Christian LIKE in their MORAL values by following the godly principles taught in the Bible. Mormons also seem to be very Christian LIKE even in what they teach to their new believers. But in all honesty, the Mormon church leaders and the Mormon Missionaries are not completely HONEST about what Mormons ACTUALLY believe. Back up and read their last statement of THEIR definition of a Christian. “For Mormons, being a Christian means being a disciple of Jesus Christ, loving and worshiping Him above all. It means centering one’s life on Christ’s teachings from the New Testament. It means striving to live the kind of life that honors Jesus Christ in word and deed. This is the meaning of being a Christian.” Now, when Mormons first convert new believers to Mormonism, they do indeed teach them from the Bible ONLY. However, if you dig or search deeper, then you will clearly see that the Mormon Church does NOT teach the whole word of Almighty God. The Mormon Church ADDS to what the word of truth, the Holy Bible, teaches. You see, the Mormon statements of faith APPEAR at first to be very much Christian in their use of the LANGUAGE that they use. And in many cases, their wording is identical to what Christians use. What I mean by their “language” is the terms or the words that both Mormons and Christians use such as “baptism” and being “saved”. Yes, many of the words and terms that the Mormons use are some of the very SAME terms and words that Orthodox Christianity uses. Therefore, one would assume that all Mormons are Christians because they use many of the very same words and terms that Christians use. But in truth, Mormons have a different understanding of those words and terms from what Orthodox Christianity teaches those same words and terms to mean according to the Bible ITSELF. You see, one can listen to Mormon missionaries that go door to door and they sound very much like any other Christian church. You can go to most any Mormon website and the testimonies of Mormons seem to be very Christian sounding. In fact, Mormonism appears on the SURFACE, to ME at least, to be so much like Christianity, that when I first began my own investigation concerning Mormonism, I was at first convinced that what the mainstream church was warning Christians about Mormonism being a “cult” was simply not true. What I mean by this is that when I first started researching Mormonism I went directly to the websites of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints to see for myself what they taught. You see, whenever I myself do a study in God's word, I like to hear ALL the EVIDENCE from ALL sides of a controversy and then compare ALL the evidence that I find to what the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, teaches us. So when I FIRST began to read their home page and what they believed it appeared, at first, that Mormons believed the same things that are taught in Christian churches, so I thought to myself HOW could anyone call Mormonism a “CULT” seeing that they BELIEVE and TEACH that Jesus died for the sins. However, in a CLOSER examination of their DOCTRINE, the honest TRUTH seeker, must ask the question, “Do the OTHER teachings of Mormonism, that Mormon missionaries DO NOT speak about when they come to your door on their initial visit, and what the Mormon websites DO NOT write about, up front, DO NOT AGREE with what the BIBLE teaches and do not stand in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God?” Therefore, it is the purpose of this study in God's word to compare the teachings of Mormonism against the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, in order to unveil the hidden teachings of Mormonism that they do NOT share with NEW converts. And in order to expose these HIDDEN teachings to the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God, then you must believe the Bible over any other book. In other words, the Bible ITSELF will CLEARLY show to you, the reader and seeker of the TRUTH, that Mormonism, at its core, is simply NOT BIBLICAL. There may be SOME truth from the Bible that is taught in Mormonism but the teachings of Mormonism in the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints as a whole are NOT SOUND BIBLICAL teachings. You see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, there is more to Mormonism that what some people see because many people only look at what Mormonism teaches on the surface. What I mean by this is that what most people see in Mormonism are good family values and good moral people who profess their faith in Jesus Christ. But again, the faith that Mormons profess is NOT true BIBLICAL faith. I will explain the difference between true SOUND BIBLICAL Christian faith and the NOT true Biblical faith that the Mormons teach further on in this study. Yes, Mormonism closely MIMICS Christianity in many ways but in TRUTH Mormonism does NOT teach SOUND BIBLICAL doctrine at its core. Furthermore, Mormonism ADDS to the teachings of the Holy Bible by ADDING their book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. And they also add their own publications of OFFICIAL teachings that are supposedly revelations from God. And this ADDING to the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, is WARNED against in Deuteronomy 12:23. Deuteronomy 12:23.
“What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: you shall NOT ADD thereto, nor DIMINISH from it.” We as Christians are further WARNED by our Lord Jesus Christ HIMSELF against ADDING ANYTHING to the word of Almighty God or TAKING AWAY ANYTHING from the word of Almighty God in the book of Revelation chapter 22 verses 18 and 19. Revelation 22:18,19. “For I (Jesus) testify unto every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall ADD unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19. And if any man shall TAKE AWAY from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” Now, some Mormons may try and argue that the verses in the book of Revelation are speaking of adding or taking away from the book of Revelation ONLY. But for those who argue this point are the very ones who are ADDING and TAKING AWAY words from the REST of the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible. Ask yourself, “Is not EVERY book in the Bible the inspired word of God which the Holy Spirit of God inspired men of old to write down the words that Almighty God himself desires all of the human beings to read and understand?” We will get into this argument of trying to justify ADDING others books to the Bible shortly, but before we actually get into the hidden beliefs of MORMONISM that were ADDED to the teachings of the Bible though the Book of Mormon, the Doctrines and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price that are again put off or not shared and explained at the first initial visit of a potential convert, we will take a look at the statements of faith as they are written on the Mormon websites. In other word's, before we take a look at the HIDDEN beliefs and teachings of Mormonism that are held back from being taught to a new convert, until the new convert has had his or her “MILK before MEAT” so to speak, we will take a look at the statements of faith from a Mormon website to show those who may not be aware of how close Mormonism mimics Christianity on the surface. Once again, these statements of faith will be almost identical to most every other Christian church, but DO NOT BE DECEIVED because this is NOT ALL that Mormonism teaches. Also, be aware that while many of the terms and words used by both Mormonism and Christianity may be the same, I implore you to understand that the actual MEANINGS of these same terms and words are NOT the SAME. Plain and simple, what a Mormon believes and teaches is NOT what a true Bible-believing Christian believes and teaches. True BIBLICAL Christianity and Mormonism are NOT the SAME. This truth will be PROVEN to you the reader, and seeker of the TRUTH, as you read the articles of faith as they are written on the websites of the Church of the Latter Day Saints, the LDS, or Mormonism and then compare these statements of faith of Mormons to the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, the very word of Almighty God HIMSELF. There are thirteen articles of faith as stated by the websites that I myself found and researched. If you are a Mormon and believe that I have not QUOTED these 13 articles of the Mormon faith accurately please write to me and I will correct any statement that is not accurately given. Dear reader, please keep in mind that the “WE” in the following statements of faith are what “MORMONS” confess and believe. Also, be aware that any EMPHASIS is mine in order to point out that Mormonism has ADDED to what the Bible teaches, which is again, AGAINST what Almighty God warns in his word for us NOT to do. 13 Articles of Faith of Mormonism 1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. 2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression. 3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. 4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. 5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof. 6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth. 7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth. 8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. 9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God. 10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory. 11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may. 12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law. 13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul-We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things. Now I personally do not think any person, who is at least somewhat familiar with Christianity, will have a problem with many of the statements of faith we just read with the exception of statement #8 where it is stated that Mormons ALSO believe that the Book of Mormon to BE the word OF God. And you may object with statement #9 where Mormonism states that they believe that God is still YET REVEALING new REVELATIONS to mankind. This is how they JUSTIFY the book of Mormon that they believe was REVEALED to Joseph Smith by an angel named Moroni as late in the History of Christianity as the year 1823. So then, other than these two NON-Orthodox Christian statements of faith in Mormonism, you can see how easily anyone can be DECEIVED into believing that they are joining a church that APPEARS to be like any other Christian church. A simple truth is that no person can already know what they have not yet been TAUGHT or what they have not yet learned on their own. This is WHY the Bible teaches us in Acts 17:11 to read and study the BIBLE for ourselves daily so that we can know whether or not if what we are being TAUGHT is the truth or if it is FALSE teaching. Acts 17:11. “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the WORD (Speaking of the SCRIPTURES in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible teaching about Jesus being the Messiah. In other words, the men and women in Thessalonica RECEIVED the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ) with all readiness of mind, AND searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” In other words, it is YOUR responsibility as a Mormon to READ the BIBLE for YOURSELF in order for you to know whether or not you are being taught the truth or not. So ask yourself the question, “Does the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints teach and ENCOURAGE you as a Mormon to READ and STUDY the Holy Bible for yourself?” With that being said, you now know by your reading for yourself from the very word of Almighty God Himself, the Holy Bible, that YOU are to search out what you are being TAUGHT in order to see whether or not that you are being taught the truth. Let us now take a close look at 14 statements of faith that are DEFINED in the WAY that a MORMON is TAUGHT as to what these very Christian SOUNDING statements of faith actually mean to a Mormon, and then we will compare what YOU as a Mormon have been taught with what the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, the very WORD of Almighty God HIMSELF teaches. Please keep in mind that the following are 14 statements of what Mormons actually believe as written by those who were once very faithful and devout Mormons like YOU who are very sincere in what you believe. In other words, just because these good moral people are called “FORMER or Ex-Mormon's” does NOT mean that they have an “ax to grind”, so to speak or that they are from Satan as the apologist of Mormonism would have you to believe. I myself have never been a Mormon and my heart is to see that you believe the TRUE GOSPEL of Jesus Christ. Please read the study “WHAT IS THE TRUE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST?” Please be assured that these ex-Mormons love you, as do I. And also know that we only want you to come to the knowledge of the truth. And by the TRUTH I am speaking of the truth as taught to us by the Holy Bible ALONE without the ADDING of other books. In other words, get the TRUTH from the Bible ITSELF FIRST. And then COMPARE what the Book of Mormon, the Doctrines and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price teach TO the TRUTH found in the Holy Bible. For you see, the Holy Bible came BEFORE all those other Mormon books. And we know that God will NEVER CONTRADICT what he has spoken in the Holy Bible. So IF all those Mormon books are actually FROM Almighty God himself, then they will AGREE PERFECTLY with the Bible having NO CONTRADICTIONS whatsoever. This is very important to keep in mind. For you see, a Mormon is NOT taught these following beliefs as a NEW convert. Mormons are NOT taught to TEST what they are taught with the Holy Bible for themselves. But rather a new Mormon convert is ONLY taught these following beliefs ONLY AFTER they have PROVEN themselves to be FAITHFUL to their prophet Joseph Smith. And on the average, this often takes a year or more of indoctrination to Mormonism before a new convert is persuaded that Mormonism is the ONLY true church. To say this another way, the teachings from the Book of Mormon, the Doctrines and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price are KEPT SECRET and in effect HIDDEN from a new convert UNTIL that new convert has PROVEN that he or she is a FAITHFUL follower of the prophet Joseph Smith. They must be persuaded that Joseph Smith is their TRUE prophet before they are taught the core beliefs of Mormonism. Again, this is an IMPORTANT fact that exposes the truth that Mormonism only MIMICS Christianity and that it's HEART or core Mormonism is NOT true BIBLICAL Christianity. Once again, the following are 13 statements of the Mormon faith as defined or explained in the way that a Mormon is taught these statements of faith to MEAN, to a Mormon, by people who were indeed faithful and devout Mormons themselves, at one time, before they came to the knowledge of the TRUTH as written in the Holy Bible. 13 Statements of faith of Mormonism Presented by one who has been a Mormon for many years, but now is a TRUE Christian.#1 – God (Speaking of Almighty God, the Father) was once a MAN who lived on another planet
This is the most important teaching of Mormonism. Nothing else comes close to it. We as Mormons were taught to believe that God was once a mortal man, with a physical body, that on another planet who progressed by living in obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel he had on his world, and then he died. He then became a resurrected man and evolved to become a god. He is still married now (some early leaders say that he is a polygamist) and created this world. We worship only the one true God, which is really one god among millions or billions or more. We believe that we will follow in God's footsteps by becoming perfect and we too will become Gods and Goddesses creating spirit children and peopling other worlds. The Mormon TV commercials showing family togetherness is the foundation for life in the next world - as a family - as gods. Reference: Journal of Discourses Vol. 6 Page 4, 1844. Joseph Smith speaking: "...you have to learn to be Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all Gods have done before you, - namely, by going from one small degree to another..." Reference: Journal of Discourses Vol. 6 Page 275, 1852. Brigham Young speaking: "After men have got their exaltation and their crowns - have become Gods..." And yet there is NOTHING in the Bible ITSELF that teaches us that Almighty God the Father was a MAN who progressed to become a God. The Bible itself teaches us that Almighty God has always existed and that he is the ONLY one who has always been IMMORTAL. Jesus came to show us the Father to be the ONLY TRUE God. Please read 1 Timothy 6:13-16. “I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; 14. That you keep this commandment (Or keep you his teaching) without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: 15. Which in his times (Speaking of the first and second comings of Jesus) he shall show, WHO is the blessed and ONLY Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16. Who ONLY has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.” So then, the ONLY TRUE God is INVISIBLE and he is the ONLY one who has always been IMMORTAL. Let us move on to statement of faith #2 of Mormonism which again CONTRADICTS the Bible. #2 - WE are co-eternal with GodWe believe we have all existed for all eternity. First, we existed as "intelligences", which has never been defined, then we were given spirit bodies in heaven by our eternal parents. Our "intelligences" have existed forever just like our God's has and we have been around him in one form or another forever. He has just simply progressed ahead of us. Reference: Journal of Discourses Vol. 6 Page 7, 1844. Joseph Smith speaking: "God himself, finding he was in the midst of spirits and glory because he was more intelligent, saw proper to institute laws whereby the rest could have a privilege to advance like himself" Please read the study “DID OUR SOULS PRE-EXIST?” for all the verses in the Bible that clearly teach us that we did NOT pre-exist as spirit children up in heaven. And as far as being co-equal with God simple common sense should tell anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear that there can only be ONE God who ALONE is the ALMIGHTY and HIGHEST God. Not anyone, not even Jesus is EQUAL with his God and Father, the ONLY TRUE God. #3 - The origin of Jesus Christ Jesus was begotten by the physical union of God and Mary. Since God (Almighty God, the Father) has a body of flesh and bones, he really had literal sex with Mary. The product of this union was Jesus, part man, and part God. We believe Jesus was the first born in heaven by heavenly father and mother who created his spirit and our spirits using our "intelligences" as a foundation for our spirits. Our "intelligences" were floating around in the universe and needed to be organized into spirits. Since he was the firstborn spirit, and according to the Book of Abraham, his "intelligence" was better than the other "intelligences" out there, he is the most important spirit creation. When Jesus received his physical body by the union of God and Mary, his spirit was put into his body like our spirits were put into our bodies. His body was special though because his father was a god. The rest of us have only regular dads. Again, a few Mormons wrote saying they do not believe this and I am misrepresenting the church's position. Actually, the quotes from the early leaders are stranger than I could create from my imagination. Here are a few references: Brigham Young speaking in the Journal of Discourses Vo1 1, Page 51 1852, "Jesus our Elder Brother was begotten in the flesh by the same character that was in the garden of Eden, and who is our Father in Heaven." Brigham Young speaking in the Journal of Discourses Vo1 15, Page 770 1853, "Now remember from this time forth, and forever, that Jesus Christ was not begotten by the Holy Ghost... if the Son was begotten by the Holy Ghost, it would be very dangerous to baptize and confirm females, and give the Holy Ghost to them, lest he should beget children..." The Bible ITSELF teaches us that the word was made flesh. Simply read the Bible for yourself to see HOW Jesus was born of a woman. Read Luke 1:26-45 and you will NOT find that Almighty God the Father came down from heaven and had sex with the Virgin Mary. But rather you will see that God sent his angel Gabriel with a MESSAGE to give to Mary. And when Mary BELIEVED God’s word that the angel SPOKE to her by saying, “Be it done according to your WORD” the Holy Spirit came upon her and the SPOKEN word of God was conceived in her womb. The WORD became FLESH in the womb of Mary. God performed his spoken word of prophecy. #4 - Truth is determined by feelings
We believe we know the truth by our feelings. We do not rely on and we will disregard any FACTS that contradict what our FEELINGS tell us is true. If something feels bad, like someone telling us that Joseph Smith was a fraud, then we know that Smith must have been a prophet, since falsehoods create bad feelings and it feels bad when someone tells us that we have been duped. In other words, if we get a bad feeling, we are hearing bad things which must be lies. We feel good when we read the Book of Mormon, therefore it is true. Archeology, genetics, science, metallurgy, agriculture, and animal studies are irrelevant since our feelings tell us it is a true book revealed by God. This good feeling applies to all aspects of our lives. We determine if we should do something or know the truth of something if we have prayed about it and have a good feeling about it. The Bible ITSELF teaches us that we are saved by grace THROUGH FAITH and that faith COMES by the HEARING of God’s word. Almighty God chose to save whosoever BELIEVES by the foolishness of PREACHING. And the preaching being spoken of is the preaching of the TRUE GOSPEL of Jesus Christ found in the New Testament of the Bible. Our FEELINGS can lie to us. For you see it FEELS good to our flesh to SIN. Many things in life bring us PLEASURE but those GOOD FEELINGS of pleasure are NOT always from God. #5 - What a Prophet said can be revised depending on the circumstances
We believe that when the Prophet, the head of our church, says something that is definitely wrong he was not being inspired at that time. He was only speaking as a man. We believe that newer Prophets can override older Prophets. We believe we have a prophet on the earth today even though he never prophecies anything. Reference: Ezra Taft Benson '14 Fundamentals in Following the Prophets' pg 1-16, 1980: If this is true, then the very words of our PROPHET Jesus could also be revised and changed. So how could anyone have FAITH in the Bible if so be that it can be changed by another so-called prophet of God? Any and EVERY prophet who came AFTER Jesus must be TESTED by the written word of Almighty God. And every prophecy that they foretell must come to pass or they are NOT a TRUE prophet sent by Almighty God. We are to try the spirits to see whether or not they are of God. Have YOU yourself ever TESTED to see if your prophet Joseph Smith is truly from God or not? #6 - Saving our dead ancestors shows we are the ONLY Christian church
We believe we have temples where we get the handshakes and passwords that allow us to become gods. We also baptize by proxy dead people so they too can become Mormons. There is nothing in the Bible ITSELF that teaches us that we can be baptized on behalf of another person whether they are dead or alive. Read the BIBLE and compare what you are being taught to see if it is sound Biblical teaching. And if what you are being taught is NOT found in the Bible itself then you are NOT being taught BIBLICAL Christianity. You are being DECIEVED by a false gospel and false teaching. #7 - Ex-Mormons or apostates had sin in their life or never had a testimony
We believe if apostates had a testimony that they will be cast into outer darkness. And the others who leave Mormonism must have never had a testimony. This same lie is used by Reformed Theology Christians who wrongly teach the false doctrine of Once Saved Always Saved. They claim that a true born-again Christian can never lose their salvation. So to THEM, anyone who leaves the faith was never a true Christian to begin with. So this is simply just a way to CONTROL their followers so that they will not listen to those who leave the Mormon church. I think that ex-Mormons have a sincere desire for Mormons to read the Bible for THEMSELVES so that they can see that they are NOT being taught the TRUE GOSPEL of Jesus Christ. Mormons are NOT being taught TRUE BIBLICAL Christianity. And the same is true with many other Christian church denominations which I cover in other studies. #8 - We will ONLY read church approved materials
ANY literature which is critical of the church is Satanic and/or written by disgruntled apostates or others who do not know the truth. They can be ignored and any reasonable arguments they have are unimportant since they oppose the gospel of Mormonism. No church denomination can save anyone. And any church denomination that claims that it ALONE is the ONLY TRUE church is lying to you. There are many church denominations that say that they are the ONLY true church. So how can anyone know which church denomination is telling the truth? Your very eternal life is at stake if you pick the WRONG church denomination. So since they ALL use the Holy Bible to base most of their teachings upon then it would be wise to read the BIBLE for ourselves to see if we are being taught the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. And if we find that what we are being taught CONTRADICTS what the Bible ITSELF teaches then we know to get OUT of that church denomination. #9 - We need to convert the whole world to Mormonism
We believe we must send all our young men from ages 19-22 on missions throughout the world and many of our unmarried daughters. We must also save our money so that when we are older we can go on a mission as a married couple. We are called to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and NOT to covert people to MORMONISM. Sending out missionaries is taught in the Bible, but it is the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ that we are commanded to preach. So any church that tells you that you can NOT be saved unless you are a part of THEIR church is lying to you. Please read the study “THE ONE TRUE CHURCH?” #10 - By being Mormons we are assured of salvation - even if we are WRONG
We believe that EVEN if we are WRONG about Mormonism, God will forgive us since we believed in Christ just like the CHRISTIANS said we should. If we are right, and we know we are, then we will be together forever with our families as gods. Why should we want to be anything other than Mormons since we have all our bases covered? Now, while Mormons may have assured themselves that the Mormon church is the only true church, I have found that Mormons, in general, are NOT assured that they are saved. Rather they HOPE that they will be GOOD ENOUGH to be saved. Here is a quote from the book of Mormon: The Book of Mormon says, “For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all that we can do,” (2 Nephi 25:23). But yet the Bible ITSELF teaches in many places that we are not saved BY WORKS.
Please read Ephesians 2:8-10. “For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: (Or NOT AFTER you DO all you can do first) it is the gift of God: 9. Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus UNTO good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” So then, AFTER we are saved we do good works and bear good fruit that is WORTHY of repentance. The Bible also said that God loved us WHILE we were yet SINNERS. Jesus died and rose again WHILE we were still dead in our SINS. Please read Romans 5:8.“But God commends his love toward us, in that, WHILE we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” So then, the book of Mormon CONTRADICTS the Holy Bible which came way before the book of Mormon. So which book will you TRUST your very eternal life to? Simply read the book of Mormon and COMPARE it to the Bible and you will find MANY places that the book of Mormon CONTRADICTS the Bible. #11 - Since we have the name of Christ in our church - our church is the ONLY true one.
Only the true church would have Christ's name in it. We ignore the FACT that the Doctrine and Covenants and other books were published by the church when Joseph Smith himself had the church renamed for several years as the Church of the Latter-day Saints. Other church denominations have the Name Christ in them. There is the Church of Christ, and the church of Jesus Christ just to name two. So with that line of reasoning, there are no less than THREE ONLY true churches. And that is impossible because ONLY means just ONE. I implore all my Mormon readers to take a close look at the history of your church and more specifically at the LIFE of your prophet, Joseph Smith. You will not like what you find but your soul is at stake. And always remember that just because someone SAYS that they are the ONLY true church it does NOT mean that it is true. #12 - We believe in the Book of Mormon
We believe in a book, which has no archeological support whatsoever and claims it is a religious record of various peoples who populated the Americas for over 2600 years from around 2200 BC to 420 AD. We believe that the second group of people who occupied the Americas were Jewish and spoke Hebrew and kept their records in reformed Egyptian. These people also numbered in the millions and somehow they left no tangible proof of their existence. Some Mormons believe that in the near future the leaders of the church will ADMIT that the peoples the book describes are FICTIONAL, but maintain that the book still contains religious truths. There is no need to ADD any book to the Holy Bible. The Bible alone and by itself has all you need to be saved and receive eternal life in the world to come. #13 - The fruits of Mormonism prove it is the true church
We believe by manipulating statistics we can show we have a superior belief system. We disregard statistics which are embarrassing to our position such as the high divorce rate in Utah. Again, God hates BOASTING. So to boast that the Mormon church is the only church that bears good fruit is not showing the mind of Jesus Christ. #14 - Since there are people who oppose our beliefs - our beliefs must be true
We believe that those who write against us and assail our beliefs are proof that we are the only true church. Only the true church would have anything bad said about it. The Devil fights against the truth. The Jews opposed the church of Jesus Christ so does that make the Jew’s religion the true religion? All church denominations are assailed against in some of the things that they teach. So is that proof that they are the true church? Yes, the devil fights against the truth by MIXING the truth with HIS LIES. Section 2.
There should be no doubt that these 13 statements of faith written by an ex-Mormon or former Mormons may have come across as a bit sarcastic to some, but nonetheless these 13 statements defining what a Mormon is taught are indeed ACCURATE and they can be easily proven by your own through research into the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. Please try and place yourself in the position of a former Mormon who was once a very devout and faithful Mormon as you yourself are now, but whose eyes of understanding has been opened by the Holy Spirit of Almighty God and now they SEE for the first time through revelation of the Holy Spirit that they have been LIED to for years by the FALSE teachings of Mormonism. No one likes being LIED to and especially LIED to from someone you TRUST with your very eternal life. This is one of the reasons why I myself felt that I needed to separate myself out of the mainstream teaching of the Roman Catholic Church first. And then, later on, I separated myself even out of the Protestant church. I do my best to teach only what the CLEAR, PLAIN, and SIMPLE word of God teaches even though I receive persecution from my fellow brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ. For you see, I know that they are blindly accepting all that the so-called ORGANIZED mainstream ORTHODOX church teaches without ever questioning what they are taught. Now, they may study their OWN doctrines but they do not truly study the WHOLE word of God. For if they did then they would not continue believing many of the church doctrines which their church denomination has taught them. I have found that many of these sincere Christians, who are dearly my brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, are NOT truly searching out for THEMSELVES what the BIBLE actually teaches. But rather they simply PARROT the verses from the Bible that are used to try and support the false teachings of the church. In other words, they do not read and study the Bible for THEMSELVES, to learn of all the verses in the Bible that CONTRADICT what they are being taught. So, I can sympathize with those who have turned to these other beliefs, who teach that Jesus is not THE ALMIGHTY God, the Father because I too believe that this is what the word of TRUTH, the WHOLE word of Almighty God the Father teaches. The Bible does, in fact, teach that Jesus is God, but ALSO teaches that Jesus is NOT THE ALMIGHTY God, because Jesus is under and subject to HIS God and Father who ALONE is the one true and only ALMIGHTY God. However, the mainstream church DOGMATICALLY teaches that Jesus IS God, as in, Jesus is THE ALMIGHTY God himself and they will not allow ANY OTHER teaching in their church that is CONTRARY to their precious “DOCTRINE” of the Trinity that teaches that Jesus is EQUAL to Almighty God the Father in EVERY WAY. They wrongly teach that Jesus is neither less than, or greater than the Father and that Jesus has ALWAYS existed as the Son of Almighty God, being God the Son the second person of the Godhead Trinity from all eternity past. Now the purpose of this study is not to show the error of this man-made “DOCTRINE” of the Trinity. But rather, the purpose of this study is to point out that if the mainstream church would not be so DOGMATIC in their stand on the “DOCTRINE” of the Trinity then hopefully they would take a closer look at the EFFECTS that this false teaching has had on producing all these other FALSE teachings such as Mormonism, the Jehovah's Witnesses, Oneness Pentecostals, and Unitarian Universalism, then they would change their position and teach what the WHOLE word of Almighty God teaches. I myself have found myself searching for another fellowship that believes as I do, but WITHOUT all these other strange teachings that are NOT SOUND BIBLICAL beliefs such as the above mentioned false teaching of the doctrine of the Trinity that the mainstream churches teach. So then, the question now becomes. “Since all these churches do in FACT proclaim faith in Jesus Christ as their savior, then does this mean that ALL these many different churches are CHRISTIAN?” I will let YOU, the reader and the seeker of the truth, decide the answer to that question for yourself after you have considered ALL the evidence in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. This particular study will deal only with the teachings of MORMONISM and whether or not they are BIBLICAL. Jesus did NOT say believe MY words AND believe ALSO the teachings of an ANGEL. In fact, the Bible WARNS us NOT to believe the teachings of an angel. Please read Galatians 1:8 that WARNS us NOT to believe any other gospel than which is preached to us by the WORD of Almighty God and his Son Jesus. Galatians 1:8. “But though we, or an ANGEL from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be ACCURSED.” Now let us examine these 13 statements of faith in Mormonism in the LIGHT of the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible. This time we will go more in-depth and I may not repeat what I have already said to save space. On some of the statements below, I will give the actual statement of faith of Mormonism and along with that statement of faith, I will give what a Mormon is actually taught that this statement of faith MEANS to a Mormon. Again, the emphasis is mine. #1. Biblical Christianity- We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. #1 Mormonism - God was once a MAN who lived on another planet. In other words, an average person seeking what Mormonism believes will go to a Mormon website and read that a Mormon believes in God, the Eternal Father, and in his Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Spirit like all other Christians believe. But what these Mormon websites nor those Mormons who come to your door never tell you up front is that God, the Eternal Father was ONCE a MAN who lived on another planet which CLEARLY and PLAINLY CONTRADICTS what the very WORD of Almighty God HIMSELF teaches us. The word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, the very word of Almighty God himself, teaches us that Almighty God is NOT a MAN that he should lie, nor the SON OF MAN that he should repent. (Numbers 23:19) The word of TRUTH teaches us that Almighty God is greater than man. (Job 33:12) The word of TRUTH teaches us that Almighty God is a SPIRIT. (John 4:24) The word of TRUTH teaches us that Almighty God is the ONLY being who has always been ETERNAL, meaning that Almighty God has NO BEGINNING. And has always SELF EXISTED as God for all ETERNITY and will always continue to SELF EXIST for all ETERNITY. (Deuteronomy 33:27, 1 Timothy 6:13-16 and Exodus 3:14) Therefore, the teaching from the Book of Mormon that is being taught to Mormons is a LIE from Satan. For you see, the Book Of Mormon teaches that Almighty God the Father was a MAN before he BECAME a God over the earth which TOTALLY CONTRADICTS what the very clear, plain, and simple teaching of the Holy Bible. Therefore, the book of Mormon must be REJECTED as coming FROM Almighty God because God will never CONTRADICT Himself. Think this through for YOURSELF! HOW can God, the ETERNAL Father having ALWAYS been an IMMORTAL ETERNAL being, according to the Bible ITSELF, have once been a man? IF SO BE that God the Father was a MAN living on another planet BEFORE he became a God that CONTRADICTS what the Bible ITSELF teaches. ALSO, IF God was once a MAN then WHO create this so-called MAN who supposedly BECAME a God? And was this OTHER creator God ALSO a MAN before he became a God? If so, then WHO created him? If you are HONEST with yourself and with God, then you must take the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, OVER any and all other teachings, whether it be from a prophet, an angel, or even a vision from Jesus, because a TRUE prophet of God, a TRUE angel of God, and a TRUE vision from Jesus will NEVER CONTRADICT the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible. The Holy Bible WARNS us in Galatians 1:6-9 that we are NOT to believe any other gospel other than what the very WORD of Almighty God himself teaches us. Galatians 1:6-9. “I marvel that you are so soon REMOVED from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto ANOTHER gospel: 7. Which is not another (In other words, it is not exactly another completely different gospel that Mormons are being taught); but there be some that trouble you, and would PERVERT the gospel of Christ. 8. But though we, or an ANGEL from heaven, preach ANY OTHER gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be ACCURSED. 9. As we said before, so say I now AGAIN, If ANY man preach ANY OTHER gospel unto you than that you have received, let him be ACCURSED.” In other words, YOU as a Mormon have been taught a DIFFERENT gospel that CONTRADICTS the TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ that is being taught in the word of TRUTH, the Holy BIBLE. The word of Almighty God WARNS us NOT to believe ANY OTHER gospel that does NOT AGREE with the gospel that is taught in the Bible, even though an ANGEL like MORONI give that gospel to a man claiming to be a PROPHET, like Joseph Smith, who founded the Church of the Latter Day Saints claiming that he ALONE had the truth. Does not Mormonism teach that they ALONE are the one true church and that there is NO salvation APART from the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints? YES it does! Does not Mormonism teach that Joseph Smith RECEIVED his revelation from an ANGEL named Moroni? YES it does! And does not the word of TRUTH WARN us that SATAN himself is able to transform himself into an ANGEL of LIGHT? YES it does! Please read 2 Corinthians 11:1-15 which WARNS us NOT to be DECEIVED by another gospel. 2 Corinthians 11:1-15. “Would to God you could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. 2. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 3. But I fear, lest by any means, AS the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4. For if he that comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if you receive another spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel, which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him. 5. For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles. 6. But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been thoroughly made manifest among you in all things. 7. Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that you might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely? 8. I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service. 9. And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself. 10. As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia. 11. Wherefore? because I love you not? God knows. 12. But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. 13. For such are FALSE apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14. And no marvel; for Satan himself is TRANSFORMED into an ANGEL of light. 15. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” So now, all that is left for YOU, who are Mormons, is to COMPARE what you are being taught by Mormonism to what the Holy Bible teaches. And then when you find that ALL of what Mormonism and Joseph Smith teaches does NOT AGREE with what the Bible teaches you will have to make a decision as to WHICH gospel you will believe and follow, keeping in mind that you’re very eternal soul is at stake. Will you choose the PERVERTED gospel of Mormonism and the Book of Moroni? OR will you choose the gospel of the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible? I implore you my dear Mormon friend to choose the SOUND BIBLICAL teaching direct from the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, the very WORD of Almighty God himself OVER the false CONTRADICTORY teachings of the MAN Joseph Smith, who CLAIMS that he received his revelation from an ANGEL of God. Please understand and KNOW that the BIBLE again WARNS us that Satan himself can APPEAR or manifest himself as an angel of light or a minister of light and thereby DECEIVE people into believing a FALSE gospel. Please read 2 Corinthians 1:13-15 again and again and again until you realize that the ANGEL Moroni was Satan himself TRANSFORMING himself to seem like an angel sent from God. 2 Corinthians 1:13-15. “For such are FALSE apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14. And no marvel; for Satan himself is TRANSFORMED into an ANGEL of light. 15. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” I can not encourage you enough to read and study the Bible for YOURSELF, my dear Mormon friend. COMPARE what you are being taught by Mormonism to what the BIBLE ALONE teaches and you will find that many of the teachings of Mormonism CONTRADICT what the Bible teaches. Let us move on to statement number 2 of what Mormons are actually taught. Now you may be a Mormon, but have not yet been taught some of these things but be assured that all 14 of these teachings are indeed taught to all Mormons eventually as they progress in Mormonism. #2. Biblical Christianity- The Father ALONE is the only true and ALMIGHTY God. #2. Mormonism - We are co-eternal with God. The word of TRUTH teaches us that WE are CREATED beings BY Almighty God, who ALONE is SELF EXISTING from all eternity. (Genesis 1:27; Genesis 5:1; Deuteronomy 4:32) The word of TRUTH teaches us that God formed the first man out of the dust of the earth and then breathed HIS VERY OWN breath of life into man and then man became a living soul. Then later when God saw that it was not good for man to dwell alone God created a woman out of a rib taken from the man's side. And God gave the decree for man and woman to replenish the earth. And NOWHERE in the Bible itself does it teach that every human being is an eternal being, spirit being or some “intelligence” floating around in space from all eternity past. But rather that eternal life is a gift that only Almighty God the Father gave to the Son of MAN, Jesus to give to those who believe in his Son Jesus and obey his word. (Genesis 2:7; 1 Corinthians 15:45; John 5:26,27) The teaching that all men pre-existed as spirit beings from all eternity, or even as created spirit beings before we came to the earth to be given bodies of flesh has absolutely NO BASIS in the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible. Man is NOT an eternal being, nor does man possess an eternal soul. But rather man must be GIVEN ETERNAL LIFE as a REWARD for overcoming the enemy of God, that old serpent called the Devil and Satan. Please read the studies on “HOW CAN I BE SAVED?” for a SOUND BIBLICAL understanding of what you must do in order to be saved and receive ETERNAL LIFE in the world to come. And read the study “IS THE SOUL IMMORTAL?” for all the verses that prove man does not possess an immortal soul. Mormonism does NOT have the answers or the teachings that will lead you to receive eternal life in the world to come. #3. Biblical Christianity- The word was made flesh. (John 1:14) #3. Mormism- The origin of Jesus Christ. Jesus pre-existed as a spirit child. HOW can Mormonism possible be the one true church, when the teachings of Mormonism directly CONTRADICT one another? You see, one book that Mormons use to teach their doctrines is the Holy Bible and another book that the Mormons use to teach their doctrines is the Book of Abraham. But yet the Book of Abraham directly CONTRADICTS what the very word of Almighty God, the Holy Bible teaches. The Mormon Book of Abraham teaches that Jesus was begotten by physical union of God and Mary. Since God (Almighty God, the Father) has a body of flesh and bones, he really had literal sex with Mary. The product of this union was Jesus, part man, and part God. We (speaking of Mormons) believe Jesus was the first born in heaven by heavenly father and mother who created his spirit and our spirits using our “intelligences” as a foundation for our spirits. Our “intelligences” were floating around in the universe and needed to be organized into spirits. Since he was the firstborn spirit, and according to the Book of Abraham, his “intelligence” was better than the other “intelligences” out there, he is the most important spirit creation. When Jesus received his physical body by the union of God and Mary, his spirit was put into his body like our spirits were put into our bodies. His body was special though because his father was a god. The rest of us have only regular dads. But the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, the very WORD of Almighty God Himself, teaches us that Almighty God does NOT have a PHYSICAL body of flesh and bone, but rather that God is SPIRIT who is INVISIBLE and cannot be seen. The BIBLE does NOT teach us that Almighty God had sexual intercourse with the Virgin Mary in order to conceive his Son Jesus in the womb of Mary. But rather, Jesus was created in the womb of Mary THROUGH God's SPOKEN word. The word BECAME flesh. Again, the word of TRUTH, the Holy BIBLE, teaches us that Almighty God is a SPIRIT and that he sent forth his WORD by his angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary and when Mary AGREED with God's WORD that he spoke by his angel Gabriel by saying, be it done unto me the handmaid of the Lord ACCORDING to your WORD. Then the Holy Spirit of Almighty God overshadowed Mary and in her womb was conceived a child. (Luke 1:26-45) This word “overshadowed” is much like the Hebrew word found in Genesis 1:2 when the Holy Spirit of Almighty God “MOVED” upon the face of the waters when God CREATED the heavens and the earth, which carries in it's meaning a hovering vibration as a sound wave that produces patterns of form and shape. You see, Hebrews 11:3 teaches us that it is by the very WORD of God that the worlds were formed. Hebrews 11:3. “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed BY the WORD of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear (Speaking of SPIRIT, which is INVISIBLE. ALL things are CREATED by Almighty God the Father, which came forth out from God’s mouth as Almighty God spoke forth his WORD. So in essence, all things are created FROM God himself who is SPIRIT and who is infinite).” Simple LOGIC will teach those who are seeking the TRUTH, that IF Almighty God was a MAN before he BECAME God, then HOW did He CREATE the entire univers? And IF SO be that another God before the ONLY TRUE God of the Bible created the universe, then who or what God created the ONLY TRUE God of the Bible God. The Book of Mormon makes the Bible ITSELF to be a LIE. For you see, the Bible itself clearly teaches us that the God OF JESUS is the ONLY TRUE God. Sooner or later you as a Mormon are going to have to face the TRUTH that there is ONLY ONE SELF-EXISTING God who has always self-existed without beginning or ending. And that ONE and only TRUE God created ALL things from out of Himself through his spoken word by speaking forth his very own thoughts and plans to bring them into existence. I believe that this simple logic of who created the ONLY TRUE God of the Bible will shake any Mormon to the core to RETHINK their doctrine. The Book of Mormon makes Jesus out to be a LIAR because Jesus himself said that the Father is the ONLY TRUE God in John 17:1-3. And in John 12:48, Jesus also said that we will be JUDGED by the words he spoke and taught in the New Testament. The Mormons will not be judged by the Book of Mormons. Nor will they be judged by Joseph Smith. They will be judged Almighty God the Father who will judge us all by the man Jesus Christ who will judge us BY the WORDS he taught us under the New Covenant written in the New Testament of the BIBLE. So then, why not just believe ONLY what the word of TRUTH ITSELF in the Holy Bible teaches without ADDING all these other CONTRADICTORY teachings of this FALSE prophet Joseph Smith and his ADDED books that this one man claimed was given to him by an angel of God named Moroni. Please keep in mind that Joseph Smith later CHANGES what he had first claimed was given to him by an angel of God. And the Apostle Paul WARNS us that even if an ANGEL teaches any othe gospel than what Paul teaches then do not believe the teaching of that angel. I fully realize that if you are a Mormon and you are reading this, that you may be offended that I call Joseph Smith a FALSE prophet. But it is necessary that you hear these words because you revere your prophet to highly just like the Muslims revere their prophet Muhammad who ADDED the Quran to the teachings of the Bible. The Roman Catholics revere their Pope to be infallible and even some Protestant church revere their church denominational founder's interpretation of God's word about the Bible itself. I implore you, my dear Mormon friend, to embrace the FACTS that Mormonism wrongly teaches total and complete surrender to the teachings of Joseph Smith to be ABOVE the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible. Now you may try and deny this by saying that IF the Bible is CORRECTLY translated and interpreted then it would agree with the teachings of Joseph Smith. But the TRUTH of the matter is that one must CORRUPT the Bible before it will even remotely agree with the teachings of Mormonism. You, the reader, are going to have to weigh ALL the evidence to decide who is the one who is CORRUPTING the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible. #4. Biblical Christianity- We are saved by grace through FAITH and NOT OF ourselves. And FEELINGS are of ourselves. #4. Mormonism - Truth is determined by feelings. Everyone knows that the TRUTH HURTS! Nobody likes the FEELING of finding out that they have been LIED to by the ones that they trust. It is a FEELING that does NOT feel good. But nonetheless, the TRUTH brought about that very bad FEELING. This teaching that truth is determined by FEELINGS is a man-made false teaching to keep you in bondage to false teachings and again CONTRADICTS what the Holy Bible teaches. Just because something FEELS good it does not make it be the right choice. Sin feels good but choosing sin to be the right thing to follow is NOT the right choice to make. The word of TRUTH teaches us that we as Christians walk by FAITH and NOT by SIGHT. The word “sight” in this context means we, as believers, are NOT to be moved by what we SEE and what we FEEL. (2 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 11:1) Yes, I am fully aware of the WITNESS of the Holy Spirit of Almighty God that bears WITNESS with our spirit that we are the sons and daughters of Almighty God. But the CONTEXT of that passage of Scripture is given with the TEACHING or DOCTRINE that we must believe in God's Son in order to have eternal life abiding in us and if we truly BELIEVE in God's Son, then we will CONTINUE to BELIEVE in God's Son. This WITNESS is a KNOWING deep within us as being revealed to us by Almighty God, the Father himself. In other words, no man can adequately teach you this TRUTH of Jesus being God's Son, but rather this TRUTH is received by each individual and when that individual TRULY BELIEVES, then the Holy Spirit bears WITNESS with their spirit and they KNOW, that they KNOW, that they KNOW that they are FORGIVEN of all their past sins and that they are brought back into right relationship with Almighty God their creator. Also, PERSECUTION does NOT make anyone FEEL GOOD, but we as believers are to COUNT persecution as joy because we know that great is our reward in heaven. Please do not misunderstand what I am saying; I am not arguing that a true Christian does not experience FEELINGS of great joy and peace, and the mighty presence of Almighty God. But rather I am arguing against RELYING on FEELINGS as a judge as to whether or not you are saved or that a TEACHING is the TRUTH. We are to judge these things by the WORD of Almighty God ALONE, and the word of TRUTH of Almighty God is the Holy Bible ALONE. The Bible will interpret itself by comparing Scripture with Scripture. And thus, the Bible will EXPOSE all teachings that CONTRADICT what the Bible teaches as FALSE teachings. And the ADDED books used to teach Mormonism CONTRADICT what the Bible teaches. #5. Biblical Christianity- Your word Oh Lord is settled FOREVER. Yahweh the Father, the only true God put His words in the mouth of His PROPHET, Jesus, and the Father said through Jesus that we will be judged BY the words Jesus spoke. Thus the words of Jesus are forver and they can never be revised or changed. #5. Mormonism - What a Prophet said can be revised depending on the circumstances. The Bible clearly and plainly teaches us that if one esteems a man to be a “PROPHET” then what that man prophesies as a thus says the Lord God Almighty will come to pass if that prophet is a TRUE prophet of Almighty God. And goes on to teach us that if a man speaks, as a man and that man is not under the anointing of Almighty God, then that man will HONESTLY SAY that he is speaking as a man and that he is giving only his own personal opinion, if he is a TRUE prophet and a TRUE man of Almighty God. Only DECEIVERS seeking to be seen of men, make the claim that what they say and teach is of God. Only DECEIVERS then CHANGE what they teach, by making EXCUSES, when they are PROVEN wrong, saying that when they taught what was wrong they were not under the anointing of God. NO! A thousand times NO, my dear Mormon friend. A TRUE man of God will just admit that they missed God and gladly confirm what they believe and teach to what God is revealing to them through the Holy Spirit and the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible. A true prophet will KNOW by the Holy Spirit BEFORE he speaks, whether or not what he speaks is the WORD of Almighty God. Also, HOW can you, as a Mormon, KNOW that you’re so-called “prophet,” that you depend upon today for your very soul and eternal life is a true prophet if he never prophesied anything? Interpreting the word of God and then telling you that ONLY THEIR interpretation is the true interpretation is NOT prophesying. A prophet can only be judged as being true if what he prophesies come to pass. So then, if a prophet prophesies of a SPECIFIC judgment to warn someone to turn from their sin and this judgment does not come to pass, then that prophet is a FALSE prophet. So in truth, Joseph Smith was not a “PROPHET” at all, but rather he was a TEACHER of God's word. Joseph Smith simply taught what he himself INTERPRETED God's word to mean to him. So all YOU, as a Mormon, need to do is to compare what Joseph Smith taught to the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of God to see whether or not Joseph Smith was teaching the truth or not. The TRUTH does NOT keep CHANGING like the teachings of Mormonism.
#6. Biblical Christianity- If you be Christ’s then you are Abraham’s seed and HEIRS according to the promises of God. We cannot save anyone. But rather we sow the seed of God’s word and God himself gives the increase. #6. Mormonism - Saving our dead ancestors shows we are the only Christian church. The Bible teaches us that once a person DIES, then that person is judged by their last act upon the earth. If they DIED having SIN in their life, then they will be judged a SINNER. If a person DIES being RIGHTEOUS, then they will be judged RIGHTEOUS. (Ezekiel 33:11-20) Also, speaking to the dead is forbidden in the word of TRUTH. You are messing with what the Bible calls familiar spirits which are of Satan. Any spirit that disguises itself as a departed human is an evil familiar spirit that is DECEIVING you. Now, if it were truly possible to be baptized for the lost, who are dead, would not Jesus himself, the SAVIOR and the LAMB of Almighty God have been baptized DECLARING that he was being baptized for the DEAD to be saved through his baptism? Who loves MORE than Jesus himself loves? IF baptism for the dead is Biblical then Jesus would have been baptized for all the dead in the Old Testament. But Jesus did NOT do this, but rather Jesus went down INTO the belly of the earth himself and PREACHED the GOSPEL to the OLD Testament saints who were being KEPT by the law unto this time of GRACE and FAITH. This preaching to the dead spirits in prison or this old place in Abraham's bosom was a ONE TIME deal for the OLD Testament saints ONLY. There is no mention of any future time that saving the dead will be granted. We cannot preach something that is NOT clearly and plainly taught in God's word. Our job is to PREACH the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ and if we fail to reach everyone with the gospel, then God will be the judge over those people who were not able to hear the gospel. God's word says that his very creation proves to us that he is God, so that we are without EXCUSE. God has given us a conscience and even the Gentiles who obey their conscience do what is right before God not having the written law of God. You see, we all have God's law written upon our hearts and minds as our conscience, but when we accept Jesus as our savior, then we become a new creature and this law becomes a desire within us. Salvation is for TODAY while it is still called TODAY. Once a person dies, then whatever state they were in when they died is the state they shall remain and will be judged according to that state, whether it be a wicked state or a righteous state. Plain and simple, there is NO baptism for the dead found in the Bible itself. The one single verse in the Bible that people get this idea or teaching from is merely stating that there were some who TAUGHT the baptism of the dead but were arguing that there was NO resurrection of the dead. You see, the subject under discussion was the resurrection of the dead. Paul was arguing with those who did NOT believe in the resurrection and said then what good is it for THOSE who baptize for the dead if there is NO resurrection of the dead? Paul was NOT teaching to baptize the dead, but rather he was saying those who baptize for the dead and yet do NOT believe in the resurrection, then what is the point of baptizing for the dead? Just because something is said in the Bible does not always make it be the truth. The Jews said that Jesus had a devil and that he was mad, so why hear you him, but this does NOT mean that Jesus had a devil just because some Jews were teaching this. Can you not see my dear Mormon friend that if so be that being baptized in proxy for the dead were a SOUND Biblical teaching, then it would be found all over the Bible seeing that it is God's will that none should perish. Satan uses baptizing for the dead, in Mormonism, the same way the Satan uses praying for the dead in the Roman Catholic Church, which is to DISTRACT people from doing what will truly help people to be saved. #7. Biblical Christianity- Do NOT judge a matter until you hear the WHOLE matter. (Proverbs 18:13, Proverbs 25:2, John 7:51, Acts 17:11) #7. Mormonism - Ex-Mormons or apostates had sin in their life or never had a testimony. This is very similar to the FALSE once saved always saved teaching that states if one leaves the faith, then they were never truly saved to begin with. Also, this statement reads to me that if you are NOT a MORMON, then you are NOT SAVED. Therefore, all ex-Mormons were never truly Mormons and all apostates will never truly become Mormons. This statement also teaches that no Mormon is to LISTEN to any EX-Mormon because IF they ever had a testimony or witness then they left Mormonism because they were not a GOOD Mormon and they had SIN in their life. This statement of faith denies any possibility that any Mormon can have their eyes of UNDERSTANDING opened to clearly see that they had been DECEIVED by the enemy and that Mormonism is a doctrine of devils. But yet many ex-Mormons testified that they once sincerely believed Mormonism. And then they began to see little contradictions here and there that they kept to themselves. They would talk to God about those questions that they were having. And then over time, they began to see that Mormonism was NOT true. So they made the choice to believe Almighty God OVER believing Joseph Smith. Now, if Joseph Smith were here today and these ex-Mormons were to ask him directly about those contradictions then I think that he would at least HEAR what they had to say. And that is all anyone is asking. Do not judge what we have to say is of Satan before reading the Bible for YOURSELF and asking God to show you the truth. #8. Biblical Christianity-We believe that all church doctrine should be based only upon what the Bible ITSELF teaches. We only approve materials that AGREE with what the Bible ITSELF teaches. And any teaching that MUST be INTERPRETED which is NOT taught an issue of salvation can be challenged and therefore MUST NOT be dogmatically taught as an essencial must be believed doctrine in order to be saved. #8 - We will only read Mormon church approved materials. Well, this can be said of most any church denomination that truly cares for its flock not wanting them to be DECEIVED by FALSE teaching. However, any church denomination can be WRONG. For you see, every church denomination teaches something DIFFERENT. So in truth, I personally believe that it is best to teach ALL sides of a controversy and let the word of TRUTH interpret whether or not a particualr doctrine of a church denomination is SOUND BIBLICAL teaching. And then the disciple of Jesus Christ who searches the Scriptures will know and understand WHY these other teachings are FALSE teachings. Every reformation that has come about has been because Christians began reading and studying the WHOLE word of God for THEMSELVES and CLEARLY saw that what they were being TAUGHT, by their formal spiritual leaders, was NOT sound BIBLICAL teaching. Therefore, they came out from the mainstream church and REFORMED what they had been previously taught. Joseph Smith, on the other hand, was NOT actually part of ANY church as yet, but rather, he sought to know which church was the true church. Now again, I say that Satan cannot stop any person from SEEKING the TRUTH, but Satan can DECEIVE that person into sincerely believing that something is the truth, when in fact, it is NOT the TRUTH. And this is what Satan did with this 14-year-old boy Joseph Smith, who had very little knowledge of the word of God when he received his vision. The Bible teaches us that we are to TRY the spirits in order to see whether or not they are of God. And we are also to JUDGE what we see in a dream or vision BY the WRITTEN word of Almighty God. If it is truly of God, then it will AGREE with the WRITTEN word of Almighty God and will definitely NOT contradict any part of God's written word as the teachings of Mormonism do when they are compared to what the Bible teaches. #9. Biblical Christianity- We are commissioned to preach the TRUE GOSPEL of Jesus Christ to all the world and trust that God will perform his word and give the increase to add to HIS church as we are faithful to preach the whole word of God. #9 - We need to convert the whole world to Mormonism. The commission of every believer is to PREACH the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ. And then, Almighty God will give the increase. No one part of the body of Jesus Christ is given the task of preaching to the whole world. Every part of the church has its own part to do and as always, God himself will give the increase so that there is no boasting among those in the church. We are to do our best to try and persuade men of the TRUTH and then let the word of TRUTH do what it was sent to do. Now, while I do not see Mormonism FORCING people to be converted to Mormonism by the threat of death or torture as does Islam, I do see a great deal of intimidation in the way Mormonism presents their way of believing. And I ALSO see a lot of DECEIT as well in the presentation of Mormonism to new converts by holding back these other teachings that most any Christian, no matter how young in the Lord they may be, would pick up on as NOT being SOUND BIBLICAL teaching. No true Christian believes that they are to covert the WHOLE world to be Christian. We are to preach to the whole world, as in, wherever we as individual Christians are being LED by the Holy Spirit to go and preach or teach his word. And then we are to trust God to perform his word, but we are NOT to marry off our daughters and sons to the unsaved to convert the unsaved by marriage as Islam sometime does. Catholicism also teaches that a spouse to be must either become a Catholic before marriage or they must agree, at the very least, to raise the children as CATHOLIC even if the other spouse is Christian. In other words, to a Mormon, and to a Catholic, being CHRISTIAN is not good enough. Mormons believe you must be a Mormon to be saved and a Catholics believe you must be a Catholic to be saved. And Jehovah's Witnesses believe that you must be a part of their organization in order to be saved. So to ME, this belief that they are the ONE TRUE church seems to be a trademark of being a “cult” or FALSE church. Again, I am NOT JUDGING as to whether or not the individual person in these churches are saved or not, but rather I am simply pointing out WHY their TEACHINGS are FALSE teachings by exposing their TEACHING to the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. The word of TRUTH simply teaches us that we must believe the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ to be saved. In other words, NO church can save you. It is the PREACHING of the CROSS that is the POWER of God that brings people to that saving FAITH in his WORD. #10. Biblical Christianity- We believe that we are first saved by grace through faith and NOT of ourselves. And in this first phase of our being saved God forgives us of all our past sins and gives us an earnest of his Holy Spirit to dwell in us. The Holy Spirit then EMPOWERS us to overcome sin in our lives. The Holy Spirit leads and guides us into all truth. The Holy Spirit is our TEACHER and we have no need for any man to teach us. But we also believe that God has called people to be leaders and teachers in the church to root and ground us into all truth. We have assurance and peace to know that God is always faithful to do what he has spoken in his word. So by faith, any Christian can become fully assured that they will PERSEVERE unto the end to receive their reward of eternal life in the world to come. #10. Mormonism - By being Mormons we are assured of salvation - even if we are wrong. Every FALSE religion SINCERELY believes that they are the ONLY way that leads to eternal life, but this is the first religious organization that I myself have ever heard of that boasts that even if they are WRONG they are still on the road that leads to eternal life, simply because they believe in Jesus as the CHRISTIANS teach. The DEVILS believe in God and also believe that Jesus is the Son of Almighty God, but we all know what is going to become of Satan and the devils. Now according to this illogical teaching of Mormonism that even if they are WRONG, then if anyone TRULY BELIEVES in ANYTHING, then there are ABSOLUTELY NO IF'S in what they believe otherwise it is NOT true faith. So then, if Mormons truly believe in Jesus as all other CHRISTIANS believe, then why do all Mormons not simple become TRUE Christians and follow the teachings of the word of TRUTH ALONE without all the ADDED books used to teach Mormonism. You see, my dear Mormon friend, true Christians do not ADD books to the Holy Bible to teach about Almighty God and his salvation. ONLY DECEIVERS like Muhammad and Joseph Smith feel the need to ADD to the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible. #11. Biblical Christianity- There are MANY MEMBERS in the ONE BODY of Jesus Christ. So we believe that there are true born-again believers in Jesus in every church denomination including in Mormonism. But that does NOT mean that they are being taught the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. The “name” of a church does not prove that they are the only true church. #11. Mormonism - Since we have the name of Christ in our church - our church is the only true one. With this kind of logic then EVERY church that has the name Christ in it would be the ONLY true church. So then, the Church of Christ would be the ONLY TRUE church. Or the Church of Jesus Christ is the ONLY TRUE church. When anyone puts the words ONLY TRUE CHURCH in the name of their denomination, then they are saying that every other church is Satanic. And, therefore, should not only be rejected but ALSO preached against in every way possible to WARN those who are being DECEIVED. But yet, Mormonism PRIDES themselves because they do NOT preach against ANY other church, according to the statements of faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. Mormonism sits IDLY by watching millions perish, who THINK that they are saved but ACCORDING to Mormonism they are lost, because they do not belong to the so-called one true church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, the Mormons. How can the one true church sit idly by and watch millions in these other churches be lost and not lift a finger to at least WARN them? No, my dear brothers and sisters, this is NOT the mark of the TRUE church of Jesus Christ to be politically correct and let millions perish just because a few may be offended by the TRUTH. The name of the church has nothing whatsoever to do with whether or not that particular church is teaching SOUND BIBLICAL doctrine. If one wants to counterfeit a hundred dollar bill they do not make a three dollar bill, but rather the counterfeiter makes his bill as close to the TRUE bill that he can. Satan is a counterfeiter and his church will very closely resemble the TRUE church of Jesus Christ. You owe it to yourself to HEAR the WHOLE matter of those who have come OUT of the Mormon Church who have been priests, elders, bishops, and even apostles of Mormonism. Listen to their testimonies and how they worship Lucifer in the temple ceremonies. Simply look at all the OCCULT symbols on your temples. Open your EYES and look at all the Masonic symbolism on the temple itself and how similar all the rituals are to Mason rituals and rites. Look at the statistical FACTS on divorce and suicide among Mormons and how they compare to other churches. The Bible says that the love of money is the root of all evil. The Mormon church is one of the wealthiest, if not the wealthiest church in America and its members are judged by their FINANCIAL means. I say these things by what those who have once been a Mormon say. Listen to the testimonies of former Mormons and get it straight from the source. #12. Biblical Christianity- We Believe what the Holy Bible teaches. #12. Mormonism - We believe in the Book of Mormon. Jesus is the ONE whom the Scriptures in the Old Testament foretold that we should believe. There is NO OTHER foundation on which we are to build our faith other than the foundation of Jesus Christ that has ALREADY been laid by the original 12 Apostles that were EYE witnesses to Jesus and what Jesus HIMSELF taught. The word of TRUTH teaches us that even if an ANGEL teach ANOTHER gospel we are NOT to believe that gospel, because an angel of darkness can and do manifest themselves as angels of light to DECEIVE people. Do NOT be DECEIVED by this so-called visitation of an angel of God who called himself Moroni that appeared to Joseph Smith. For you see, what this angel of Satan told Joseph Smith CONTRADICTS the WRITTEN word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible. How can I make it any clearer than that! The Book of Mormon, called ANOTHER Testament of Jesus Christ, is ANOTHER GOSPEL of Jesus Christ, which the word of TRUTH warns us NOT to accept or believe. #13. Biblical Christianity- Jesus said that the world will know us by our fruits. #13. Mormonism - The fruits of Mormonism proves it is the true church. True faith is indeed shown by our works. There is no doubt that there are many good moral people among the Mormons. But the same can be said of many other faiths. There are some good moral Muslims, but this does NOT make them to be TRUE BIBLICAL Christians simply because they believe that Jesus died for their sins. Please understand that I am not saying that absolutely no Mormons are SAVED. But rather, I am saying that simply being a Christians does NOT mean that all Christians believe and teach SOUND BIBLICAL Christianity. Being a good moral person is a good thing but that does not mean a person is a BIBLICAL Christian in what they believe and teach. Quite the contrary, good moral Muslims teach that it is a sin for them to say that Almighty God has a SON. There are some good moral people in the world. And some of them do not even believe that there is a God. So bearing good fruit is certainly a mark of a true Christian, but bearing good fruit does not prove you ARE a true born-again Christian who believes and teahes SOUND BIBLICAL doctrines. Bearing good fruit is not the ONLY mark of a true Christian. For you see, if it were, then many Muslims would be true Christians by that simple definition doing good works. Hinduism has many good followers who do good works as well, but again their good works do NOT make Hinduism be true Christianity. Please read the studies that I have under “HOW CAN I BE SAVED” to know what it takes to be a true Christian and to obtain ETERNAL LIFE in the world to come. #14. Biblical Christianity-Jesus said that with much persecution you shall enter the kingdom of heaven. Jesus also said that the world will hate us. So everyone who calls themselves a Christian suffers persecution in some form or another. #14, Mormonism- Since there are people who oppose our beliefs - our beliefs must be true. All Christians who are preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ undergo persecution. Also, MERE OPPOSITION does not mean one is teaching the TRUTH. There are those that OPPOSE atheism and evolution, but this does not mean that atheist and the belief in evolution is true just because it is OPPOSED by Christians and other religions of the world. Christians OPPOSE Islam and other false religions, but this does not mean that these other religions are true. There are even false teachers that have crept into Christianity and these FALSE teachers are opposed by true Christians, but this does NOT make the FALSE teacher in Christianity to be TRUE Christians. Can you not see that FALSE teachers are opposed by the teachers of the truth and that the teachers of the truth are opposed by the FALSE teachers, therefore simply being opposed does NOT make the ones being opposed, to be TRUE Christians. A true born again Spirit filled Christian will be willing to lay down their life BEFORE they would ever DENY that Jesus Christ is the SON of Almighty God, who DIED on the cross for their sins and that Almighty God the Father raised his SON Jesus from the dead on the third day. A true born again believer in Jesus Christ always gives all the GLORY to Almighty God the Father and his Son Jesus for everything in a believer’s life. A true Christian knows that they are saved BY GRACE and NOT of works of righteousness which we have done. And once we have been brought back into right relationship with Almighty God, by the shed blood of his Son Jesus, we as true Christians KNOW that we cannot please God by our OWN good works of righteousness, but rather we BELIEVE that God's GRACE will strengthen us to overcome the enemy and endure unto the end to be found worthy to obtain eternal life in the world to come. Section 3. Now let us take a look at some of the many CONTRADICTIONS not only between the Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible but also how the Book of Mormons contradicts ITSELF. 1. The contradiction of WHERE Jesus is BORN. The word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible teaches us that Jesus was born in the little town of Bethlehem. Please read Micah 5:2, which prophecies of where the Messiah would one day be born. Micah 5:2. “But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, though you be LITTLE among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” Then in Matthew 2:1-6 we read the fulfillment of this prophecy of Jesus the savior being born in Bethlehem of Judea again with emphasis on Bethlehem being LITTLE. Matthew 2:1-6. “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2. Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. 3. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them WHERE Christ should be BORN. 5. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, 6. And you Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are not the LEAST among the princes of Judah: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.” But yet Mormonism teaches in the Book of Mormon in Alma 7:10 that Jesus was born in Jerusalem. Alma 7:10 “He shall be born of Mary at Jerusalem.” This may be trivial to some Mormons, but if the Book of Mormon were TRULY the word of Almighty God, then the book of Mormon would, without fail, AGREE in every small detail with what the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, and what the very word of Almighty God HIMSELF teaches. But yet any honest Mormon who is truly seeking the TRUTH can clearly see that the ADDED books of Mormonism do NOT AGREE with what the Bible teaches. You do NOT need to INTERPRET these CLEAR, PLAIN, and SIMPLE words of the Bible in order to see that they do NOT AGREE with the Book of Mormon. I mean even a small child can see that the little town of Bethlehem is NOT the city of Jerusalem. So I implore you, my dear Mormon friend, NOT to continue to be deceived by the FALSE teachings of Mormonism. Flee from Mormonism and preach the true gospel of Jesus Christ directly from the BIBLE. Read and study the BIBLE for YOURSELF. 2. The contradiction between there being three HOURS of darkness while Jesus was on the cross as opposed to three DAYS of darkness. The word of TRUTH in Matthew 27:45,46 teaches us that there was darkness from the sixth hour of the day to the ninth hour of the day, which is three HOURS. Matthew 27:45,46. “Now FROM the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land UNTO the ninth hour. 46. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (And then only a moment later Jesus gave up the ghost and died saying it is finished right before he died) But yet the Book of Mormon in Helaman 14:20-27 says that there were three DAYS of darkness over the land rather than three HOURS of darkness over all the land. Clearly, another contradiction with the what the Book of Mormon teaches in comparison with what the very word of Almighty God teaches us in the Bible. Historians even record of there being a great earthquake and darkness on the DAY that Jesus was crucified, but yet there is no historical record of there being THREE DAYS of darkness. This one CONTRADICTION should raise a RED FLAG to you and alert you to the TRUTH that the book of Mormon is NOT the inspired word of Almighty God, because it CONTRADICTS the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible that was ALREADY written many centuries before the book of Mormon. ISLAM and the FALSE prophet Muhammad does the SAME thing by EXALTING the Quran ABOVE the Holy Bible making the CLAIM that the Bible has been CORRUPTED. And yet the Dead Sea scrolls CONFIRM the Holy Bible to be the word of TRUTH. 3. The contradiction between Almighty God being a SPIRIT that has NOT flesh and bone and Almighty God being a MAN that has a FLESH and BONE body like all other men. Jesus himself says that Almighty God the Father is a SPIRIT in John 4:24. “God is a SPIRIT: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” Then in Luke 24:39 Jesus clearly teaches us that a SPIRIT has NOT a FLESH and BONE body as Jesus had when he arose from the grave. Luke 24:39. “Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a SPIRIT has NOT flesh and bones, as you see me have.” But yet Mormonism in the Doctrines and Covenants 130:22 CONTRADICTS the word of TRUTH by saying that God has a FLESH and BONE body and this is how God was able to have sex with Mary. Which by the way, according to Mormonism, would have been his own spirit daughter meaning God was committing INCEST and ADULTERY by taking another man's wife to be. We have already learned that God is NOT a MAN and neither is God the SON OF MAN. 4. The contradiction as to WHO is the HEAD of the CHURCH, whether it be Jesus or Joseph Smith. The word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible clearly teaches us that JESUS is the HEAD of the church in Colossians 1:12-19. Colossians 1:12-19. “Giving thanks unto the Father (Almighty God), which has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; 13. Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14. In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15. Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17. And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18. And he (Speaking of Jesus the Son of Almighty God the Father) is the HEAD of the body, the church: who is the beginning (Of the church, the first fruits unto God), the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell;” But yet Mormonism in the Doctrines and Covenants 28:2-6 CONTRADICTS the CLEAR, PLAIN, and SIMPLE word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, by teaching that Joseph Smith is the HEAD of the church. This is what Islam does by exalting the prophet Muhammad above Jesus. Every time a Muslim says the name Muhammad they follow up by saying peace be upon him and they never ever miss saying this salutation when it comes to saying the name of their beloved prophet Muhammad. But when they say the name Jesus, they are not so careful to say peace be upon him. And depending on what Muslim you hear, it may be that they rarely, if ever, say peace be upon the name of Jesus. Also, in Islam Muslims professes that Allah is the true God and Muhammad is his prophet with NO mention of Jesus being Allah's prophet. This is also what Catholicism does by exalting the Pope to be the very person of Jesus Christ himself on the earth being called the Vicar of Christ. Even the Jehovah's Witnesses exalt their elders and founders of their church above the very word of Almighty God in that ONLY the elders of the Watch Tower Society have the ability to INTERPRET the Bible correctly. Can you not see that ALL these false teachers ADD to the Bible something and dogmatically demand that they ALONE are the ONE TRUE church or true religion? 5. The contradiction of WHEN the true believers and followers of Jesus Christ were FIRST CALLED CHRISTIANS. The word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, teaches us that believers were FIRST called Christians at Antioch in the book of Acts 11:26 and Bible scholars place the time to be around 40 A.D. Acts 11:26. “And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians FIRST in Antioch.” Now, the book of Mormon in Alma 46:13-16 says that the Nephites were CHRISTIANS and the so-called golden plates on which the ORIGINAL text was supposedly written calling these Nephites CHRISTIANS was written well before the CHURCH was ever began by Jesus Christ. Now how can the church be in existence BEFORE Jesus who is the BEGINNING OF the church? That would be like saying that Mormonism began BEFORE the FOUNDER of Mormonism was ever born. Mormonism teaches that these so-called golden tablets were buried long before Jesus was ever born. So then, did the angel Moroni bury the golden plates BEFORE God created the earth? Obviously not. But God's plan of salvation was formed in God’s mind for his Lamb to be slain BEFORE the foundation of the earth. Plain and simple the church BEGAN with Jesus. You see JESUS said to Peter, upon this rock I will BUILD MY CHURCH. Jesus is the AUTHOR and the finisher of our faith. There was no church BEFORE Jesus died upon the cross for our sins and was raised from the dead on the third day. Therefore, there were NO Christians BEFORE Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world. So, therefore, there could not have been so-called golden plates that called the Nephites Christians BEFORE Jesus died on the cross and founded his church. The believers in Jesus Christ were first called the WAY and were first called Christians in Antioch, which many Bible scholars believe was because these Christians in Antioch were so CHRIST LIKE. Plain and simple, the ADDED books of Mormonism do NOT AGREE with what the Bible plainly states with NO INTERPRETATION needed. #6. The contradiction of WHEN the church BEGAN. Now, this is much like the argument we just covered above in number 5. The TRUTH of the matter is again, the actual CHURCH, as in the BODY of the church did not begin until the day of Pentecost, when the disciples where all believers in Jesus Christ were ENDUED with POWER from on high to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. And on that very same day Peter, under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, PREACHED the gospel of Jesus and 3000 souls were ADDED to the church that day. Please read Matthew 16:18 and Acts chapter 2 for WHEN the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, teaches us as to WHEN the church began. Again, Bible scholars place the year to be around 33 A.D. But yet Mormonism teaches in the book of Mormon, in Mosiah 18:17 that the church began in 147 B.C., which again places the beginning of the church BEFORE its FOUNDER and BUILDER, Jesus Christ, was ever born. Jesus became the HEAD of the church on the day he was resurrected from the dead and highly exalted by God. Jesus is the BEGINNING of the church. And to be a part of the church you MUST BELIEVE in Jesus. So it is impossible for the church to exist BEFORE Jesus died and rose from the grave. Now, if you remember, Mormons are taught NOT to accept the clear, plain, and simple FACTS, but rather Mormons are to judge TRUTH on FEELINGS alone. Mormons are taught that the book of Mormon is true because they PRAYED about it and got this burning FEELING that it was true. Therefore, they are taught never to doubt the book of Mormon even if the Holy Bible CONTRADICTS what it says because the Bible has SUPPOSEDLY been CORRUPTED beyond anyone being able to be correctly interpreting it any longer. But you have just seen that there is NO INTERPRETATION NEEDED in order to clearly see that ADDED books of Mormonism do NOT AGREE with the very PLAIN and SIMPLE STATEMENTS of FACT in the Bible. Can you not see that the Devil can give FEELINGS to people to DECEIVE them? So then, since some Mormons will not even take a look at the Bible to see that the books of Mormonism do NOT AGREE with the Bible, then here are some CONTRADICTIONS found within the book of Mormon that contradicts ITSELF! The Book of Mormon contradicts Itself and other inspired Mormon writings! Here are some questions that deserve consideration by every Mormon. #1. If the Book of Mormon is true, then why has the Mormon Church changed it? Examples are: 1 Nephi 11:21; 19:20; 20:1 and Alma 29:4. Compare these with the original Book of Mormon. (Gerald and Sandra Tanner have counted 3913 changes in the book of Mormon, excluding punctuation changes.) #2. If the good become gods, then why did Moroni, one of the best, remain an angel? Since Moroni devoutly practiced the Mormon Gospel, why is he an angel now rather than a God? (Doc. & Cov. 132:17,37) #3. Joseph Smith said that there are men living on the moon who dress like Quakers and live to be nearly 1000 years old. Since he was wrong about the moon, is it safe to trust him regarding the way to Heaven? (The Young Woman's Journal, Vol. 3, pages 263-264. See reprint in Mormonism --Shadow or Reality? By Jerald and Sandra Tanner, page 4.) #4. How can a man who is not a descendant of Aaron hold the Aaronic Priesthood? (Numbers 16:40; Heb. 7:13,14). #5. How did Nephi with a few men on a new continent build a temple like Solomon's while Solomon needed 163,300 workmen and seven years to build his temple? (1 Kings 5:13-18 and 2 Nephi 5:15-17). #6. If the Book of Mormon is true, why do Indians fail to turn white when they become Mormons? (2 Nephi 30:6, prior to the 1981 revision). #7. If God was inspiring the translation process of the Book of Mormon, why were 4,000 changes necessary? #8. Why did Joseph's own accounts confuse whether he was visited by Moroni or Nephi. "He called me by name, and said unto me that he was a messenger sent from the presence of God to me and that his name was Nephi." (J. Smith - Times & Seasons Vol. 3, p. 753 1842) also (J. Smith 1851 PoGP p. 41). #9. Why do the words of Malachi 4:1 appear in 1 Nephi 22:15 over a hundred years before Malachi wrote them? #10. Why does the Book of Mormon confuse the Old and New Covenants? It stresses that before Christ, the faithful kept the Law of Moses (2 Nephi 5:10; 25:23-25, 20; Alma 30:3), yet they also established churches, taught and practiced Christian baptism, and were conversant with New Testament doctrines and events (e.g. 2 Nephi 9:23; Mosiah 18:17). In the Bible, the Old Covenant is taken away to establish the New according to Paul and his followers (Heb. 10:9). The Book of Mormon intermingles the covenants. Paul was the man who first tried to reconcile the Old to the New Covenant --not anyone during Old Testament times. With so many CONTRADICTIONS, to me, there is no doubt that the revelations that Joseph Smith received are from Satan just like Muhammad was DECEIVED by his revelation from Satan when he wrote the Quran. There are many similarities between Islam and Mormonism. DO NOT be DECEIVED by either. Thanks for reading and I would encourage you to view the videos that I have posted on my website. Now I may not agree with everything these videos teach, but I do agree with what they teach about Mormonism. Here is a link to the “VIDEO TEACHINGS on MORMONISM VERSES BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY” Also, I encourage you to read and listen to those who were once good and faithful Mormons, like yourself, who now have come to the knowledge of the truth and whose love for you is to see that you also come to the knowledge of the truth. Simply do a search for yourself typing in any search bar the words, “TESTIMONIES of FORMER MORMONS.” Your brother in our Lord Jesus Christ, Brother Mark. RETURN TO HOMPAGE AT The following sources were taken from both Mormon and Christian websites exposing the errors of Mormonism. Some quotes below are from former Mormons who are now true Christians based upon what the Bible ITSELF teaches. So the female writer below was a former Mormon but that does not mean that she does not know what Mormonism truly teaches. As many of you may know from some of the other studies that I have written that I myself do not agree with all the teachings of mainstream Christianity. But that does not mean that I do not KNOW what mainstream Christianity teaches. It simple means that I NO LONGER agree with what the mainstream church denominations teach. But rather, I believe only what can clearly and plainly be seen from the WHOLE word of Almighty God. So you know that I myself no longer believe in the doctrine of the Trinity. So again, below are the articles of faith in Mormonism which is being compared to what Trinitarian Christians believe and teach. And same is true with ANY from Mormon who came out of Mormonism. So then, the female former Mormon simply NO LONGER agrees with what Mormonism teaches. She now believes what Trinitarian mainstream Christianity teaches. This particular study is not about whether or not the doctrine of the Trinity is Biblical or not. Rather, this study is about showing you WHY Mormonism is NOT Biblical Christianity. You can read what I quoted below from the website I quoted from and much more at: Below are just some of the quotes. "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." "Mormons do not believe in the Trinity as we understand it. They believe that God and Jesus were separate physical people" who dwelled on the earth, Johnston said. God was Jesus' father, and both men died. "They do have a 'Holy Ghost' that is very similar to our understanding of the Holy Spirit," Johnston said. Article 2: "We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression." "Mormons do not believe in original sin. In the LDS religion, you can't sin until you reach the age of accountability, which is age 8. We are all born perfect," Johnston explained. Further, she said if a child up to 7 years old commits any sin, even crimes such as murder, that child is not held responsible for their actions. "After age 8 you are accountable. If you don't confess your sins to a bishop and repent, you're punished. These sins range from drinking alcohol, coffee or tea, or smoking cigarettes, to 'major' sins such as adultery, murder, etc." Johnston said. The punishment, Johnston said, is that you don't get to reach the third heaven, where God dwells. "There is no hell (in the Mormon religion)," she said. "There are three heavens, and you get into them depending on if you are a Mormon or not, if you are a good person but never a Mormon, or if you are a good Mormon who lives a righteous life." Mormons do believe Lucifer was Jesus' brother, back on the original earth, where God and Jesus dwelled. "This goes back to the theology that we were all spirit children together with God in the 'pre-existence,'" Johnston said. The third heaven itself has three levels, based on piety. In order to reach the highest level, "where you can get your own planet, you must be a good Mormon, followed all the rules, married in the temple …" Johnston explained. "They don't believe in a hell, per se … everyone, unless you're really bad, goes to the first heaven, whether they are Mormon or not. They do believe in an 'outer darkness,' but that's muddy … they aren't really clear on the kind of people who would go there." Article 3: "We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel." "This is basically the same as what I said before (on article 2). There is a general salvation, but to dwell with God, you have to be good. It delivers a lot of pressure," Johnston said. "You have to repent of every sin, pay your 10 percent tithe, raise your kids in the faith … it's just this huge weight and this huge burden," she said. Article 4: "We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost." "It's absolutely required that you be baptized by immersion and receive the laying on of hands," Johnston said. "If you're not baptized, you're not saved." Temples serve the purpose of atoning for those who have passed. Mormons go there, after getting a list of people (based on extensive genealogy research) to be baptized on behalf of. So basically, Johnston said, you're working to save yourself and to save people who are already dead. "Baptism happens for children at age 8. At age 12 they are allowed to go to the temple and do baptisms for the dead, and there is a lot more that happens at the temple. We would go like, twice every year as a youth group … they dunk you 'on behalf of so-and-so', and then repeat it about 10 times for different names. Then you go into this room and [church leaders] confirm them," she said. "There are thousands – probably more than that – being done every day across the world." Article 5: "We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof." "When Christ was on earth, He set up a priesthood and an organization of the church," Johnston said. "After he died, the people fell away and the priesthood left the earth. It didn't return until the priesthood was given to Joseph Smith." That means that born-again believers, Catholics, Jews and any other religion does not have "the fullness of the gospel" and therefore does not preach the true gospel. Article 6: "We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth." "This one is pretty self-explanatory. They (Mormons) believe that they have reorganized the church to be the same as when Jesus Christ was on the earth," Johnston said. Article 7: "We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth." "This stuff was very common in the early Mormon Church, but it's not something you see very much in the modern church," Johnston said. "Now it's basically more that missionaries have the gift of tongues because they speak foreign languages. Healing – priests can heal with prayer and atonement." Article 8: "We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God." "That one opens the door," Johnston said. "That's where the can of worms comes out." "When this was taught to me as a child – they started by asking us to play the telephone game, where you whisper a phrase in your neighbor's ear and it is passed down the line," she said. "Obviously, at the end, the original phrase had changed and no longer resembles what was said at the beginning. The comparison was then made to the Bible – that it has been changed and revised over the years and so we can't completely trust that it is accurate." "The problem with this is that this is a case of transmission error – not translation error. Very different things," Johnston said. "Unfortunately – this understanding that the Bible is not trustworthy – has huge implications. It enables what I call the 'salad bar effect' wherein people can pick and choose which parts of the Bible they want to use/believe/learn from. If something makes you uncomfortable or doesn't fit with your particular theology – you can throw it out. Add to that the fact that they believe the Book of Mormon to be 'another testament of Christ.' Now any uncomfortable doctrines from the Bible can be explained by this new book of scripture," she said. "I can't count how many times as a teenager, I was challenged by my Christian friends about a scripture in the Bible such as Ephesians 2:8. I would be confused – but when I would bring it up to my parents or church leaders they would show me something like 2 Nephi 25:23 where it says we are saved by grace 'after all we can do.'" Johnston said. Article 9: "We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God." "[In the LDS religion] there is a living prophet with continuous revelation," Johnston explained. "But they haven't added any new scripture in a long time. The last revelation took place in 1978, allowing blacks to receive the priesthood." To be fair, she noted, a lot of churches held similar beliefs about blacks until the Civil Rights movement. "The Mormons were just behind the times." Article 10: "We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory." "Basically, the 10 tribes that were lost (in the original priesthood) will come back and gather in Missouri," Johnston said. "That's where the Garden of Eden was and that's where Christ will be raised." Article 11: "We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may." "This was a reaction to the times," Johnston said. "Mormons were being persecuted, chased out … basically, its saying 'don't persecute us and we won't persecute you.'" Article 12: "We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law." Johnston said this article is pretty straightforward. Mormons do not rebel against authority and they are not revolutionary. "They may not agree with a leader but they will respect his authority," she said. Article 13: "We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul – We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things." "I believe this is honestly what they believe. I think Mormons, just like people of any other faith, want to do the right thing," Johnston said. "They want to be honest, true, chaste, benevolent, etc. They are generous and kind and hard working. They love, honor and worship God. Unfortunately, they have a false understanding of who God is and as a result, they live with a huge burden to be good enough and do enough, [so] that Jesus will save them 'after all they can do.' It's very sad, really," she said. In closing, I myself, Mark at AMatterOfTruth.com, want to add or rather remind my readers that SOME Mormon teachers believe that IF they are WRONG then God will forgive them. The mere fact that some Mormon teachers say, IF they are wrong, teaches me that Mormons are not completely sure that the teachings of Mormonism is the truth. That would be like Muslims saying, IF they are WRONG about God NOT having a Son and that Jesus did NOT die on the cross then God will forgive them. The TRUTH of the matter is that every Mormon who has heard the true gospel of Jesus Christ is accountable to read the Bible for themselves to see if what they are being taught is the truth of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. Now, I realize that the average Mormon is ingnorant concerning what Mormonism TRULY teaches and I believe that God does take that into consideration. But for a TEACHER of Mormonism to say IF they are wrong then God will forgiven them shows me that they are DOUBTING some things about what Mormonisn teaches. Thanks for reading.
