V-31. John 2:19 Did Jesus RESURRECT himself?

SPELLING EDITED

V-31. John 2:18-22 Did Jesus Raise HIMSELF From The Dead?

Does John 2:18-22 and John 10:17,18 teach us that Jesus raised HIMSELF from the dead? Do these passages of Scripture teach us that Almighty God is a “TRINITY”? In other words, do these verses of Scripture teach us that Jesus is THE ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God HIMSELF? Both Trinitarian Christians and Oneness Pentecostal Christians use John 2:18-22 and John 10:17,18 to try and prove that Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh.

Let us begin this study in God's word by first reading both of these passages of Scripture WITH a FOCUS on what those who teach that Jesus is Yahweh Himself focus upon which is the pronoun “I” that is referring to Jesus.

John 2:18-22.

“Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign do you show unto us, seeing that you do these things?

19. Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

20. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and will you rear it up in three days?

21. But he spoke of the temple of his BODY.

22. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.”

John 10:17,18.

“Therefore does my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

18. No man takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment I have received of my Father.”

The argument used by those who teach the doctrine of the Trinity say that since the Bible says that Almighty God the Father raised Jesus from the dead, the Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead, and Jesus raised himself from the dead, then Jesus must, without fail, be Almighty God, because only Almighty God has the power to raise people from the dead. Both the Oneness Christians and the Trinitarian Christians use these two passages of Scripture to argue that Jesus is Almighty God Himself by emphasizing the personal pronoun “I” will raise it up. They will quote all the Scriptures where Almighty God raised Jesus from the dead and then come back and use John 2:19 saying that Jesus is declaring that he is Almighty God Himself by using the first person personal pronoun “I” will raise it up.

Let us go ahead and read a verse that clearly states as a fact with no interpretation needed that the Holy Spirit of God raised Jesus from the dead. And then we will read some of the many verses where Almighty God the Father raised Jesus from the dead. Please read Romans 8:11 where we clearly see that the Holy Spirit of Almighty God raised Jesus from the dead.

Romans 8:11.

“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you.”

Now let us read several verses where Almighty God the Father is the one who raises his Son Jesus from the dead. And if you already know all these verses it will not hurt you to read them again. You may see something you have not seen before.

Acts 2:22-24.

“You men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a MAN approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as you yourselves also know: (Remember the words of Jesus in John 5:19 speaking of himself saying that the Son can do NOTHING OF himself and it was the Father dwelling in him who did the work. In Matthew 8:2,3 a leper came up to Jesus and said I know you are able to make me clean if you will and Jesus answered “I” will, be you clean and immediately the leaper was cleansed. Now, Jesus used the personal pronoun “I” but it was NOT Jesus himself healing that leper and making him clean. It was Almighty God dwelling IN the Son of man, Jesus who healed the leper. Jesus did many SIGNS and wonders by the power of Almighty God the Father dwelling in him.)

23. Him, being delivered BY the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

24. Whom God has raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be held of it.”

Acts 2:30-33.

“Therefore, being a prophet, (Speaking of David prophesying of the resurrection of Jesus the anointed one) and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, HE (Referring to Almighty God) would raise up Christ to sit on HIS throne;

31. He (David) seeing this before spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

32. This Jesus has God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

33. Therefore, (He the now glorified Son of God) being by the right hand of God EXALTED, and having RECEIVED of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he has shed forth this, which you now see and hear.”

Acts 3:12-16.

“And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, You men of Israel, why marvel you at this? Or why do you look so earnestly on us, as though by our OWN power or holiness we had made this man to walk? (Some Christians in the church of today look at Jesus as being Almighty God Himself just as these Jews looked upon the Apostles of Jesus as if they healed people by their OWN power. Jesus said that he could do NOTHING OF himself. Please read John 8:26-28 “I have many things to say and to judge of you: but He that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of Him

John 8:27.  They understood not that he spoke to them of the Father

John 8:28.  Then said Jesus unto them, When you have lifted up the Son of man, then shall you know that I am he, and that I do NOTHING OF myself; but as my Father has taught me, I speak these things.” You can read John 5:19,26-30 on your own, but for now, I want to point out that both Trinitarian Christians and Oneness Christians use the phrase “I am he” that Jesus spoke in John 8:24 to claim that Jesus is saying that he is Almighty God Himself. Please notice the same phrase “I am he” immediately followed by Jesus saying that he does NOTHING OF himself. So to me, Jesus INTENDED his words “I am he” to mean that he is the MESSIAH)

13. The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has GLORIFIED His Son Jesus; whom you delivered up , and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

14. But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

15. And killed the Prince of life, whom God has raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

16. And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom you see and know: yea, the faith which is BY him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.”

In other words, the man who was healed had a PART to play in being HEALED. It was Almighty God who actually did the HEALING by or through the hands of his servants who spoke in the authority that was GIVEN to them in the NAME of Jesus to heal NOT in their OWN power but in the power of the NAME of Jesus that was GIVEN to them to use.

In the same way, Jesus BELIEVED that his God and Father would raise him from the dead. Jesus had a PART to play in his being raised from the dead by his God and Father. It was NOT by his OWN power that Jesus raised HIMSELF from the dead, but rather, it was the power and the authority that was GIVEN to Jesus BY his God and Father the one true and only Almighty God.

This is what John 2:18-22 means in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. In John 16:7-15 Jesus said something that I myself find very interesting. Jesus explains that what he has, as in, what power and authority that he has is his. Jesus says they are MINE because the Father has given ALL things to His Son. Everything Jesus has or is was GIVEN TO him BY Almighty God the Father.

John 16:7-15.

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

8. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9. Of sin, because they believe not on me;

10. Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11. Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

12. I have yet many things to say unto you, but you cannot bear them now.

13. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

14. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of MINE, and shall show it unto you.

15. All things that the Father has are mine: THEREFORE, (Or for this reason) said I, that he shall take of MINE, and shall show it unto you.”

Again, everything that Jesus is and has was GIVEN to him BY his God and Father Almighty God. And it was after the cross that Jesus was given all power and authority to JUDGE.

Please read Matthew 28:18.

“And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is GIVEN UNTO me in heaven and in earth.”

And all this power and authority is GIVEN unto Jesus BY his God and Father the one true and only Almighty God. Even eternal life was GIVEN to Jesus BY his Father after the cross BECAUSE he was the Son of MAN.

Please read John 5:18-30.

“Therefore, the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the Sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. (Now, this verse is also taken out of context and used by those who teach the doctrine of the Trinity which teaches that Jesus is EQUAL with the Father in every way where neither is greater than or less than the other. But when this verse is LEFT in the CONTEXT of where it is found we see in the very next verse where Jesus is DEFENDING himself against this FALSE ACCUSATION of the Jews who falsely accused Jesus of making himself equal with God)

19. Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do NOTHING OF HIMSELF, but what he sees the Father do: for what things soever he does, these also does the Son likewise.

20. For the Father loves the Son, and shows him all things that himself does: and he will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

21. For AS the Father raises up the dead, and quickens them; EVEN SO the Son quickens (Or makes alive again) whom he will.

22. For the Father judges no man, BUT has COMMITTED ALL judgment unto the Son: (In other words, Almighty God the Father has GIVEN his SON Jesus ALL authority to judge)

23. That (Or so that) all men should honor the Son, EVEN AS they honor the Father. He that honors NOT the Son honors NOT the Father which has sent him.

24. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hears my word, AND believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (Here we see that we must believe in and honor BOTH Almighty God the Father AND His SON Jesus in order to have eternal life abiding in us. Also, please notice that Jesus uses the personal pronoun “MY” word but in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of God the words Jesus spoke were not his OWN words. But rather, Almighty God the Father put His word in the mouth of His Prophet, Jesus. So just because Jesus used the personal pronoun “I” will raise it up in John 2:19 does NOT mean that Jesus is Almighty God Himself)

25. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. (This means that Jesus was GIVEN the authority to raise the SPIRITUALLY dead and even to raise from the dead those who died physically like Lazarus. And ALSO, at his second coming, Jesus has been given the power and the authority to raise those who BELIEVE in him as their Lord and Savior from the dead and give them eternal life in the world to come. This is WHY Jesus is called the EVERLASTING FATHER in Isaiah 6:9 which literally reads the father of eternal life. Please keep in mind that ALL that Jesus is and has was GIVEN UNTO him BY his God and Father the Almighty and ONLY TRUE God, according to the words of Jesus in John 17:1-3)

26. FOR (Or BECAUSE) AS the Father has life in himself; SO HAS HE GIVEN TO the Son to have life in himself;

27. AND has GIVEN him AUTHORITY to execute judgment ALSO, BECAUSE he is the Son of MAN. (NOT because Jesus is THE ALMIGHTY God Himself. And NOT because Jesus is the SON OF Almighty God the Father. But BECAUSE Jesus is the Son of MAN. It was needful for Jesus to be TRULY and FULLY a HUMAN being who OVERCAME the enemy to be crucified as an INNOCENT Lamb so that he could redeem mankind back to Almighty God the Father)

28. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

29. And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. (Again, Jesus has been GIVEN the AUTHORITY and the POWER to RAISE the dead during his ministry, but the TRUTH of the matter is that Almighty God the FATHER DWELT IN the Son of man Jesus. And it was Almighty God who was the ONE that ACTUALLY did the WORKS of raising the dead INCLUDING raising His only begotten SON from the dead and GIVING him eternal life. Remember Jesus said)

30. I can of mine OWN SELF DO NOTHING: (So then, HOW did Jesus RAISE HIMSELF from the dead seeing that Jesus himself clearly and plainly teaches us that in and OF HIMSELF he can do NOTHING? It has always been the FATHER that DWELT IN his SON Jesus that was the one who actually did the WORKS. Including raising his SON Jesus from the dead and then GAVE his SON Jesus ETERNAL LIFE to be having within himself even as Almighty God has ALWAYS possessed IMMORTALITY within himself. Clearly, Jesus is NOT saying that he is Almighty God Himself in John 2:19 by saying “I” will raise it up) as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”

In almost every verse we read about the resurrection of Jesus, it is Almighty God the Father, the eternal Spirit, who is the one who is actually doing the work of RAISING His SON Jesus from the dead.

Acts 3:26.

Unto you first God, having raised up His Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.”

Acts 4:10.

“Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the NAME of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by (Or because of) him does this man stand here before you whole.”

Acts 5:30,31.

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you slew and hanged on a tree.

31. Him has God EXALTED with his right hand (Or him God exalted TO His own right hand) to be a Prince and a Savior, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.”

Why would a supposedly already Almighty God need to be EXALTED to be a Prince and a Savior?

Acts 10:38-40.

How God (Almighty God the Father) ANOINTED Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and WITH power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil; FOR (Or BECAUSE) God was WITH him.

39. And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:

40. Him God raised up the third day, and showed him openly;”

Acts 13:22-41.

“And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a MAN after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will (This is also a prophecy of Jesus who is the ONLY man who has done ALL the will of Almighty God the Father. It is Jesus who was a MAN after God’s own heart. David was just speaking these words prophetically of the coming Messiah and NOT of himself)

23. Of this man's seed (Speaking of the seed or lineage of David) has God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Savior, Jesus:

24. When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

25. And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think you that I am? I am not him. But, behold, there comes one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.

26. Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you fears God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.

27. For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.

28. And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.

29. And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulcher.

30. But God raised him from the dead:

31. And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.

32. And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,

33. God has fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that HE has raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, You are my Son, THIS DAY have I begotten you. (The day that God raised the Son of man, Jesus from the dead and gave him eternal life was the very day that Jesus became the eternal Son of God, the FIRSTBORN of every creature to be made in the express IMAGE of God. That is when Jesus became God’s ONLY begotten Son. Jesus is the firstborn among many brethren and we are being conformed in the IMAGE of God’s Son. I have heard Christians argue that Jesus being the IMAGE of God means that Jesus IS God. But if that were true then we will also become God by being conformed in the IMAGE of God’s Son. So NO, being the IMAGE of God does NOT mean that Jesus is Almighty God Himself)

34. And as concerning that HE (Almighty God the Father) raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

35. Wherefore he says also in another psalm, You shall not suffer your Holy One to see corruption.

36. For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

37. But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

38. Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this MAN is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: (Now, to me, this is the perfect place to say through this God/man who is supposedly fully Almighty God and fully a man at the same time having two natures, one divine and one human is preach unto you for the forgiveness of sin. But that is NOT what the Apostles of Jesus believed and taught. The Scriptures say that Jesus is a MAN who was MADE to be both Lord and Christ and that is what I myself am going to believe and teach. The Apostle of Jesus clearly understood that Jesus was made a little LOWER that the angle first and then CROWNED with glory after the cross. And we all know that the angels are NOT equal with Almighty God. So then, for Jesus to be made LOWER than the angels proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that Jesus is NOT Almighty God Himself)

39. And by him (Or because of the obedience of the ANOINTED MAN Jesus) all that believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

40. Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;

41. Behold, you who despise, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which you shall in no wise believe, though a MAN declares it unto you.”

Romans 10:9.

That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.”

Here we are taught that if we believe and confess that GOD raised Jesus from the dead we shall be saved. It does not say if you believe and confess that Jesus raised himself from the dead. It does not say that if you believe and confess that God raised Himself from the dead. It says if you believe that God raised Jesus from the dead.

1 Corinthians 6:14.

And God has BOTH raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us BY HIS OWN power.”

Even though Almighty God the Father has GIVEN His now glorified SON Jesus the AUTHORITY to RAISE the dead it is STILL the POWER of Almighty God HIMSELF that is actually doing the raising from the dead.

Galatians 1:1.

“Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)”

Colossians 2:12.

“Buried with him in baptism, wherein also you are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised him from the dead.”

1 Peter 1:21.

“Who by him (Or who by Jesus the SON of Almighty God the Father) do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.”

So then, to ME, I myself do NOT see that John 2:18-22 teaches us that Jesus IS THE ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God nor do I see that this verse teaches us that Almighty God is a “TRINITY” where Jesus is CO EQUAL in every way with HIS God and Father who ALONE is the ALMIGHTY and most high God over his SON Jesus.

I myself see that the WHOLE word of Almighty God clearly teaches us that ALL that Jesus is, and has, that it was ALL GIVEN TO him BY his God and Father, who ALONE is the one true and only ALMIGHTY God.

Now another meaning of John 2:19 is that Almighty God was speaking through Jesus as His prophet saying to the Jews that when they destroyed His Temple speaking of Jesus that He would raise it up again. Think about how angry Jesus became at the money changers defiling the HOUSE of God. Jesus took the time to braid himself a whip to drive out the money changers. And then they demanded of him a SIGN to be shown to them that he has the AUTHORITY to put them out of the Temple. Now the anger of Jesus was righteous anger which I believe was instituted by Almighty God DWELLING IN him. And being a prophet of God it is certainly possible that Almighty God spoke through Jesus saying “I” will raise it up.

Please understand that I am not saying that Jesus is Almighty God Himself, but rather, God put His own word in the mouth of His prophet Jesus and it was Almighty God saying DESTROY this temple and “I” will raise it up. You see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, God desires a NEW temple and during the ministry of Jesus the Son of man was His TEMPLE. And now we who believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior are the temple of God. So them, we have looked at two other interpretations of John 2:19 but there is no less than another interpretation or meaning.

A third meaning of John 2:19 is a prophetic meaning speaking of Jesus raising up his BODY, an in, his CHURCH. Let us read John 2:18-22 again to refresh your memory.

(Again, during the ministry of Jesus God DWELT in him in the same way that God now dwells in us and we are called the TEMPLE of God. So the Father could have been speaking the words DESTROY this temple and in three days I will raise it or him up. The Greek word translated as “it” also mean her, him, and this man)

22. When, therefore, he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.”

Here is how E-Sword defines the Greek word “autos” translated as “it”.

G846

αὐτός

autos

ow-tos'

From the particle αὖ au (perhaps akin to the base of G109 through the idea of a baffling wind; backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the compound of G1438) of the third person, and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons: - her, it (-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, ([self-], the) same, ([him-, my-, thy-]) self, [your-] selves, she, that, their (-s), them ([-selves]), there [-at, -by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with], they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which. Compare G848.

The church is feminine so this verse could read “I” will raise HER up speaking of Jesus raising up the human temple of God, the church, up in three days. In prophecy, the three days are three thousand years. Two days for the harvest of this present world and one day for the harvest of saints in the world to come. Or God could have spoken those words in the first person through Jesus as thus says the Lord. So to me, John 2:19 does NOT prove that Jesus is Almighty God Himself.

But what about John 10:17,18 some Christians may ask. John 10:17,18 simply means that Jesus was given a free will to choose whether or not he would obey his Father's will. It was given to Jesus by his God and Father the power to make his OWN choice whether or not to lay down his life or to take up his life by not choosing to die on the cross.

John 10:17,18.

“Therefore, does my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. (NOT that Jesus resurrected himself but rather that he knows that he shall LIVE again because Jesus knew that the Scriptures spoke of him. Jesus knew the promise of his God that He would not leave his soul in hell)

18. No man takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power (Or I have the FREEDOM) to lay it down, and I have power (Or I have the FREEDOM)  to take it again. This COMMANDMENT (Or this principle or this teaching or this instruction) have I RECEIVED of my Father.”

Here is how  E-Sword defines the Greek word “exousia” that is translated as “power”.

G1849

ἐξουσία

exousia

ex-oo-see'-ah

From G1832 (in the sense of ability); privilege, that is, (subjectively) force, capacity, competency, freedom, or (objectively) mastery (concretely magistrate, superhuman, potentate, token of control), delegated influence: - authority, jurisdiction, liberty, power, right, strength.

I believe that Jesus has his OWN will and this passage of Scripture, to me, is teaching us that Yahweh the Father gave the Son of man, Jesus the FREEDOM to choose whether or not he would lay down his own life of his own free will or choose to take it up again, as in, to NOT lay down his life. That is my own opinion. I also see that this passage of Scripture can mean that Jesus was given the power, as in, the ability to take his life again. But again, that power and authority was GIVEN TO the Son of man, Jesus by his God and Father.

Some Christians may argue that this verse says “COMMANDMENT” and a commandment is not a choice. However, the Greek word commandment also means “INSTRUCTION” and teaching.

Now, if one dogmatically demands that the Greek word must be translated as commandment as opposed to a teaching or an instruction it still does not matter in this verse. For you see, the power and authority was still GIVEN BY Almighty God the Father TO his SON Jesus. In other words, IF SO BE that Jesus raised HIMSELF from the grave, it was BY or THROUGH the AUTHORITY that HIS God and Father had GIVEN TO his SON to COMMAND Satan to turn him loose from hell much in the same way that we COMMAND Satan in the NAME of Jesus through the authority that we have been GIVEN by Almighty God. Either way, Jesus did NOT raise himself from the dead by his OWN power and authority of BEING Almighty God himself. And an already Almighty God is NOT GIVEN power. And an Almighty God does NOT have another God over Himself.

Therefore, I myself must conclude that Jesus is NOT THE ALMIGHTY God who ALONE is the FATHER. Jesus is NOT the Father. I also conclude that Jesus is NOT equal with the Father since Jesus himself said that the Father is GREATER than he and the Bible itself clearly teaches us that Jesus is UNDER and SUBJECT to his God and Father, the one true and only ALMIGHTY God.

Again, another meaning of John 2:19 is that Jesus is not speaking about his own “personal body of flesh”, but rather, Jesus is speaking of his spiritual BODY, as in, the body of Christ, his CHURCH. In other words, John 2:19 is a hidden prophecy of Jesus resurrecting the church within three days.  1 Corinthians 15:20-28 teaches us that Jesus is the FIRST FRUITS unto God and then we who are IN Jesus at his coming will be the second harvest of first fruits. Then comes the end speaking of the end of the Millennial reign of Jesus which is when the third harvest of first fruits will be gathered. In other words, Jesus is the FIRSTBORN of every creature to become the FIRST FRUITS unto God. Then order number two of first fruits will be resurrected by Jesus at his second coming at the beginning of the third 1000 year long day and the rest of the dead will be raised after the third 1000 year long day has ended. The Greek word translated as “in” in John 2:19 also means “within” three days. So then, the WHOLE body of Jesus Christ will be resurrected within three 1000 year long days. No matter what way you interpret these two passages of Scripture, Jesus had NO power of his OWN during the days of his flesh. Jesus was only GIVEN all power and the FULLNESS of the Godhead AFTER the cross. Please read the three part study  “WHEN DID JESUS BECOME GOD'S ETERNAL SON? 1 which gives you all the verses that prove that Jesus did NOT preexist as God's eternal Son who was at God's side in all eternity past.

Thanks for reading and may God bless you richly as you continue to seek the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. Below are some other verses that are used to try and support the doctrine of the Trinity and the deity of Jesus. There may be other verses which you may be having trouble seeing any other way than what you were dogmatically taught over and over for so long, but I assure you that each and every verse used by those who teach the doctrine of the Trinity does indeed have a different or an alternative meaning that does NOT CONTRADICT any other part of God's word. If there is a verse that I have not listed please do not hesitate to write and let me know. Some verses are included in others studies and they may not appear as an individual study.

To me, the best way to know the ONE true God in ONE person is to know who Jesus TRULY IS according to the WHOLE word of Almighty God so please read ALL the studies under the heading >>>WHO IS JESUS ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE?<<< and you will see that the Bible itself teaches us that Jesus was CREATED by his God and Father. And if you have any questions related to the correct meaning of certain verses of Scripture on this subject of who Jesus is please read all the studies under the two headings >>>A LIST OF STUDIES ON THE TRINITY!<<< and >>>VERSES USED TO TEACH THAT JESUS PRE-EXISTED!<<< These two headings have ALL the studies that I have on who Jesus truly is according to what the Bible itself teaches us in simplicity. I compiled these three headings to make it easy for my readers to send just one, two, or three links to those you desire to help understand what the Bible itself teaches concerning who Jesus is in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.

Thanks for reading and may God bless you richly as you continue to seek the truth of the whole word of Almighty God.

Your brother in our Lord Jesus Christ,

Brother Mark.
