O-12. Jesus said WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM?

 SPELLING EDITED

O-12. JESUS SAID WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM?

I have heard Christians use 2 Corinthians 11:4 where Paul warns us to not be deceived by those who are preaching or teaching another Jesus. But what does that mean? I am not asking what that means to YOU. Rather I am asking what does the Bible itself mean by ANOTHER or different Jesus than the Apostles of Jesus preached?

Let us read 2 Corinthians 11:3,4.

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the SIMPLICITY that is IN Christ. (Paul is concerned that some Christians are being deceived to be drawn away from the SIMPLICITY that is IN Jesus Christ)

4.  For if he (Speaking of any preacher including the pastor of your own church denomination) that comes preaching ANOTHER Jesus whom WE have NOT PREACHED, or if you receive ANOTHER spirit, which you have NOT RECEIVED, or ANOTHER gospel, which you have NOT ACCEPTED, you might well bear with him.”

Now, here is the problem.  I see that Christians use this verse incorrectly. What I mean by this is that the Bible says “what WE have PREACHED”. This means what the Apostles and disciples of Jesus PREACHED and NOT what your own church denomination has preached. But some Christians wrongly interpret these verses to defend what they have been taught BY their own church denomination to say that all other church denominations are preaching ANOTHER Jesus. This would be fine IF their church denomination is indeed preaching the SAME Jesus IN SIMPLICITY that the Apostles and disciples of Jesus themselves preached.

So let us begin this study in God’s word to see the TRUE Jesus that the Bible ITSELF teaches by reading what Jesus said about himself. Who did Jesus HIMSELF say he was?

Jesus said he was the Messiah!

In John 4:4-42 where Jesus is talking with a woman at Jacob’s well and during he asks the Samaritan woman to draw him some water from the well. The Samaritan woman then asked Jesus why he asked her to draw him a drink seeing the Jesus was a Jew or a Judaean that would have nothing to do with the Samaritans. Jesus answered her by saying that if she but knew the GIFT of God and who it was that she was talking to, then she would have asked him for a drink and Jesus would have given her to drink of the LIVING WATER. I encourage you to read the whole account later but for now I will just quote verse 25,26 where the woman answers Jesus back.

John 4:25,26.

“The woman said unto him, I know that Messiah comes, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

26.  Jesus said unto her, I that speak unto you am he.”

So then, from this passage of Scripture, Jesus himself is saying that he is the Messiah which is called Christ. And from the greater context we can see that Jesus is the GIFT of God who will give to those who ask to drink of the LIVING WATER. Also, please know and understand that the word “Christ” means ANOINTED. This is extremely important to know and understand in order to know WHO the TRUE Jesus is according to the Scriptures DURING the days of his flesh.

Any Christian seeking the TRUTH should not be looking to see who Jesus is according to man-made church denominational doctrines. The TRUE Jesus according to the Bible itself was the ANOINTED Son of MAN who became God’s eternal Son after the cross. But Jesus was also called the Son of God during the days of his flesh as well.

Jesus HIMSELF said he was the Son of God!

The phrase “Son of God” is found 48 times in the King James Bible. It is found one time in the Old Testament and 47 times in the New Testament. And of those 47 times, there is only ONE time that Jesus used this phrase “Son of God” to specifically identify himself as being the Son of God in a single verse.

Please read John 10:36.

“Say you of him, whom the Father has sanctified, and sent into the world, You blaspheme; because I said, I am the Son of God?”

There is also the time when Jesus healed a man that was born blind and later asked the man if he believed on the Son of God. And the man asked who is the Son of God that I may believe. Then Jesus told him that he was the Son of God,

Please read John 9:35:38.

“Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Do you believe on the Son of God?

36.  He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?

37.  And Jesus said unto him, You have both seen him, and it is he that talks with you.

38.  And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.”

And then there are the times that Jesus called Almighty God his Father. Therefore, every time Jesus said my Father referring to God in heaven, then Jesus was saying that he was the Son of God. But also know that God is OUR Father as well. All that I am doing here is pointing out what the Bible ITSELF is saying without reading into the Scriptures something that is NOT there.

In other words, we are not going to cover what the Virgin birth of Jesus means in this particular study of God’s word. We are just going to cover what Jesus SPECIFICALLY said about himself. We will see what Almighty God the Father said concerning his Son. And we will cover what his disciples said concerning who Jesus was during the days of his flesh.

Please notice in John 10:36 that the Father SANCTIFIED his Son before the Father SENT his Son into the world. Let us read that verse again.

John 10:36.

“Say you of him, whom the Father has SANCTIFIED, and SENT into the world, You blaspheme; because I said, I am the Son of God?”

The Greek word that is translated as sanctified means to make holy, to hollow, to purify, and to consecrate. And one of the meanings of the word consecrate means to ANOINT. The word translated as SENT (Strong’s #649) means to set apart from others to send out on a mission. The word sent also means COMMISSION. And the word commission means to GIVE authority and power to someone in order for them to accomplish the task they are given to do.

Now, to ME, in my own opinion, it would be twisting the Scriptures to interpret this verse to mean that the second person of a Godhead Trinity called God the Son was sent down from heaven into the world to be incarnate in the flesh. I myself see that this verse is saying that the phrase “Son of God” here means that Jesus was saying he was the HUMAN Son of God. And not just the human Son of MAN but a human being whom God SANCTIFIED and then COMMISSIONED for the task set before him.

This means that at some point in time in the life of Jesus, on the earth, that Almighty God CLEANSED the Son of man, Jesus, to MAKE him Holy and pure. And to me, I see the Son of man, Jesus being SANCTIFIED at his BAPTISM by John the Baptist. I am not saying that Jesus had sin in his life and he needed to be forgiven of sins. But rather God declared him innocent and pure right before the TEST of Jesus being tempted began.

So why do I say HUMAN Son of God? Why do I focus so much on Jesus being the Son of MAN? I do this in order to show my readers that there is a difference between the phrase “ONLY BEGOTTEN Son of God” and the phrase “Son of God”! The Bible speaks of the days of his FLESH in Hebrews 5:7. In fact, the Bible teaches of five different ages of Jesus. For a deeper understanding of what I mean by the five different ages or dispensations of Jesus please read the study called “THE FIVE AGES OF JESUS!” So in my mind, there must be some point in time when the Son of God was FLESH, as in, being a MORTAL human being who was tempted in all points like all humans are tempted.

My main point right now is that in the ONE verse where Jesus specifically identified himself as being the Son of God by the specific phrase saying “I AM the SON OF God”, Jesus is also saying that God ANOINTED him and sent him out into the world on a mission. And to me, this speaks of the HUMAN Son of MAN being ANOINTED with the Holy Spirit and with power at his baptism by John the Baptist. This is when the Father spoke from heaven TO the Son of MAN, Jesus, saying, YOU are MY beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.

The Father said that Jesus was his SON!

Please read Mark 1:9-12.

“And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

10.  And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

11.  And there came a voice from heaven, saying, YOU are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Now to me, you would think that if so be that God the Son was sent down from heaven to be incarnate in the flesh that he would have already KNOWN that he is the Son of God. But in this verse the Father is speaking TO Jesus telling the Son of MAN that he is God’s Son by saying, YOU are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”)

12.  And immediately the Spirit drove him into the wilderness.”

Now something happened to the Son of Man, Jesus, at his baptism that Some Christians read right over. And thus they fail to see that Almighty God, the Father, ANOINTED the Son of man with his Holy Spirit and with power when Jesus came up out of the water of baptism. Almost all Christians have read Acts 10:38 but I have to wonder how many Christians TRULY understand what it means to be anointed BY God. Let us read Acts 10:37,38 first and then we will read Luke 4:21 to see WHEN Jesus was anointed BY Almighty God the Father

Acts 10:37,38.

“That word, (Speaking of the words that Jesus preached) I say, you know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and BEGAN from Galilee, AFTER the baptism which John preached;

38.  How God ANOINTED Jesus of Nazareth WITH the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; FOR (Or BECAUSE) God was WITH him.”

Please read the context of Luke 4:14-21 by reading Luke 4:1-21 later where Jesus returns from the wilderness being tempted for forty days and preaches his FIRST sermon. I will just quote verses 14 through 21.

Luke 4:14-21.

“And Jesus returned IN the POWER OF the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. (Or Jesus became well know by all the GOOD he did THROUGH the POWER of the Holy Spirit dwelling IN him)

15.  And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

16.  And he came to Nazareth, (A city in Galilee) where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

17.  And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18.  The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because HE has ANOINTED ME (WITH the Holy Spirit and POWER) to preach the gospel to the poor; HE has SENT ME (The word SENT, Strong’s # 649, is translated from the same Greek word in John 10:36 that means to set apart from others, to send out on a mission) to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19.  To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20.  And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

21.  And he BEGAN to say unto them, This day is THIS scripture FULFILLED in your ears.”

This is WHEN Jesus BEGAN to tell the lost sheep of Israel that he is the Messiah, the ANOINTED one, who was PROPHESIED to come. In other words, this is the BEGINNING of when Jesus first began to tell the children of Israel that he was the Christ. Now let us read where Jesus WARNS the Jews that if they do not believe that he is the Christ, then they shall die in their sins.

Please read John 8:24,25.

“I said therefore unto you, that you shall die in your sins: for IF you believe not that I am he, you shall die in your sins. (Now, both Oneness Christians and Trinitarian Christians interpret this verse to mean that Jesus is saying to us that if we do not believe that Jesus is Almighty God, the creator, himself, then we shall die in our sins. That interpretation can only be true if Jesus clearly stated as a fact somewhere in the scriptures that he is Almighty God, the creator, with NO INTERPRETATION needed.

Otherwise, it is just an OPINION and not what the Bible itself actually teaches in SIMPLICITY. Remember that Paul was afraid that Christians were being deceived and drawn away from the TRUE Jesus. They were being decieved to believe in ANOTHER Jesus that neither he nor any of the apostles, as disciples of Jesus, preached. The interpretation that Jesus is saying, that he is the Christ, is indeed a valid interpretation because Jesus did, in fact, specifically state that he was the Christ in John 4:25,26 and in Luke 4:14-21 in the BEGINNING of his ministry)

25.  Then said they unto him, Who art you? And Jesus said unto them, Even the same that I said unto YOU FROM the BEGINNING.”

Now both Oneness Christians and Trinitarian Christians will argue that Jesus was referring to the beginning in John 1:1. And again, that is just an INTERPRETATION. So, you have two interpretations of John 8:24,25 from which to choose. WHO is the TRUE Jesus? Is the TRUE Jesus Almighty God himself? Or is the TRUE Jesus the Christ OF Almighty God? Do not be too quick to decide for we have not seen whom the Father and the apostles of Jesus say that who Jesus is.

The Father said that Jesus was the Christ!

In Matthew 16:13-21 we see that Almighty God, the Father, REVEALED to Peter that Jesus was the Christ, the SON OF the living God. Again, I encourage you to read the whole context later. For now I will just quote verse 15-17.

Matthew 16:15-17.

“He said unto them, But whom say YOU that I am?

16.  And Simon Peter answered and said, YOU are the Christ, the SON OF the living God. (The disciples of Jesus clearly understood that Jesus was the Christ, the SON OF the living God. And throughout the whole New Testament the disciples always clearly identified the FATHER as being the God and Father OF Jesus. For all the verses where God is always identified as being the Father, except for a few verses where Jesus is called, as in, a God who is under and subject to his God, please read the study “IS JESUS ALMIGHTY GOD?” Remember that we are only seeking what the Bible itself says is the TRUE Jesus. Every church denomination claims that the Jesus that their church denomination teaches is the true Jesus. But, Jesus said that if we do not believe who HE said he was, then we shall die in our sins)

17.  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: FOR (Or BECAUSE) flesh and blood (Or your church denomination) has not REVEALED it unto you, BUT (Rather it was) my Father which is in heaven (Who has REVEALED to you this TRUTH that I am the Christ, the SON OF the living God).”

So then, so far we have learned that the TRUE Jesus according to Jesus and Almighty God, the Father, is that Jesus is the CHRIST, the SON OF Almighty God. Now to ME, it is NOT a gospel of SIMPLICITY to say that Jesus is the SON OF God and at the same time, say that Jesus IS the God whom he is the SON OF. Again, I am simply pointing out things that I have observed from reading the Bible for myself as opposed to being TOLD what to believe by the many different church denominations. Ultimately we all must make our OWN choice. And it is my prayer that you choose WISELY based upon the WHOLE word of God and not upon the INTERPRETATIONS of verses taken out of their context.

The disciples of Jesus said he was the Christ!

When Jesus spoke a hard saying that was hard to understand where we must eat his flesh and drink his blood many of his followers stopped following him. They did not understand that Jesus was referring to his death and resurrection that they must EAT or BELIEVE in order to receive eternal life. And Jesus asked his closest disciple if they were going to stop following him as well. Here is what they said.

Please read John 6:68,69.

“Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? YOU have the WORDS (Or the TEACHING) of eternal life.

69  And WE believe and are SURE that you are THAT Christ, the SON OF the living God.

And what Jesus HIMSELF taught his disciples to BELIEVE is that he was the Christ, the SON OF God.

Please read John 20:30,31.

“And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: (So then, by the WORKS that Jesus did, THROUGH the POWER of God who was DWELLING IN him, gave evidence and proof that God was WITH Jesus to show that he was the Christ OF God and that he was the SON OF God.)

31.  But these are written, (Or these few MANY miracles that Jesus did are recorded as a record to be read by many) that YOU might BELIEVE that Jesus is the Christ, the SON OF God; AND that (Or SO THAT BY) BELIEVING (As in, CONTINUALLY believing unto the end, this TRUTH that Jesus is the Messiah, the ANOINTED BY God who suffered and died for your sins) you might have LIFE (Speaking of receiving ETERNAL LIFE in the world to come) through his name.”

Again, Paul was AFRAID that some Christians were being subverted away from the SIMPLICITY that is IN Jesus Christ. And I am sorry if my believing in the SIMPLICITY of the TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ offends you.

You see, both Oneness believers and Trinitarian Christians write to me worried and afraid that I believe in ANOTHER Jesus because the Jesus that I believe and teach is not what THEIR church denomination believes and teaches. So, all I am doing is showing my readers and seekers of the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God, why I myself can no longer believe in the doctrine of the Trinity, that I was DOGMATICALLY taught, that I MUST believe in order to be saved.

I, myself, am compelled by the Holy Spirit to only believe what the Bible ITSELF teaches in SIMPLICITY as the TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ to believe in order to be saved and receive eternal life in the world to come. And, therefore, we must believe who Jesus, HIMSELF, said he was if we do NOT want to die in our sins. So then, what does the Bible ITSELF say as to who is the TRUE Jesus, lest we be deceived to believe and teach ANOTHER Jesus that the Apostles of Jesus did NOT teach?

The Bible says that Jesus is the Lord’s Christ!

In other words, the Bible teaches us that Jesus, the ANOINTED Son of MAN, to be the Messiah BELONGS to Almighty God.

Please read Luke 9:20-22.

“He (Jesus) said unto them, But whom say you that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ OF God.

21.  And he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing;

22.  Saying, The Son of MAN must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.”

The disciples of Jesus understood and taught us that Jesus was God’s MESSIAH, the Son of MAN whom Yahweh ANOINTED with the Holy Spirit and POWER to suffer and die on the cross for the sins of the world. We read in Hebrews 9:14 where Jesus OVERCAME sin THOUGH the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling IN him.

Hebrews 9:14.

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, (Speaking of Jesus, the ANOINTED Son of MAN) who THROUGH the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot TO God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

Please notice that the Bibles itself says in SIMPLICITY that Jesus offered himself WITHOUT sin TO God and not to the Father. Yes, I know that God is the Father but Trinitarians believe the God is THREE separate persons in one God. Trinitarians do NOT believe that the Father ALONE is the ONLY TRUE God like the Bible itself clearly teaches us in SIMPLICITY.

What I am trying to show you is that IF the doctrine of the Trinity was indeed taught BY the Apostles of Jesus, who wrote the New Testament, then surely there are many places, such as this verse, where they could have stated that God is a Trinity God. What I mean by this is that IF they truly taught that God is three persons in one God, then they would have used every opportunity to define God as a Trinity God. They could have just as easily written that Jesus offer himself to God the Father, the first person of the Godhead, through his OWN mighty power as being the second person of the Godhead Trinity. But that is NOT what they wrote.

Again, all that I am doing is pointing out to my readers, who are seeking the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God, what I myself have observer from reading the Bible for myself, to see if what I was being taught by the church denominations, that I attended, is the truth or not.

My quest for the TRUTH began when the Holy Spirit brought verses to light that directly contradicted the doctrine of the Trinity teaching that Jesus was EQUAL in every way with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. Now, WHY would God the Son need to be ANOINTED with the POWER of the Holy eternal Spirit if so be that God the Son’s POWER was EQUAL to the power of the Holy Spirit?

The truth of the matter, in SIMPLICITY, is that Jesus HIMSELF said that the Son could do NOTHING OF HIMSELF and that it was the Father dwelling IN him who was the one doing the WORKS. Please read John 5:18,19 where the Jews are falsely accusing Jesus of making himself EQUAL with the Father. And Jesus defends himself saying that he can do NOTHING OF HIMSELF.

John 5:18.19.

“Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the Sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. (So the Jews INTERPRETED Jesus calling God his Father to mean that Jesus was making himself EQUAL with God. But Jesus turns right around to set the record straight that he was NOT making himself equal with God)

19.  Then answered Jesus (To their FALSE accusation that he was making himself equal with God) and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do NOTHING OF HIMSELF, but what he sees the Father do: (In a dream, of a vision or perceiving what the Father is saying to him through the eternal Spirit dwelling IN him) for what things soever he does, these also does the Son likewise.”

This has never happen to me yet but I have heard testimonies of some Christians where they had a dream from God. And in that dream they saw themselves healing a person. Then later on they saw, in real life, things happening that they saw in that dream. So they knew what to DO, by what they SAW, in the dream that God gave to them and they simply did what they saw themselves do in the dream. I believe that this could be what Jesus means.

My point is that Jesus was NOT God the Son, in the flesh, because why would an Almighty God the Son, in the flesh, who is EQUAL with Almighty God the father say that he could do NOTHING OF HIMSELF and that it was the FATHER dwelling IN him who was the one doing the WORKS.

Please read 14:10.

“Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the FATHER that DWELLS IN me, HE does the works.”

Again, the point that I am making right now is that Jesus BELONGS TO Almighty God.

Please read Luke 2:25-31.

“And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

26.  And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. (Or Yahweh’s Messiah, the ANOINTED chosen one PROPHESIED to come)

27.  And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

28.  Then took he him (the baby Jesus just eight days old) up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,

29.  Lord, now let you your servant depart in peace, according to your word:

30.  For mine eyes have seen YOUR salvation, (All the GLORY for God’s salvation belongs to Almighty God Yahweh)

31.  Which YOU have PREPARED before the face of all people;

32.  A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of YOUR people Israel.”

The word translated from Strong’s #2090 as PREPARED means to provide, to make ready. And it compares to Strong’s #2680 which refers BACK to Strong’s #2090 saying that Strong’s #2090 means to construct, to CREATE, to build, to make, to ordain, and to prepare. No matter what definition you choose, the fact remains that Jesus is the WORK OF Almighty God Yahweh. Let us read another verse where Jesus BELONGS to God as Yahweh’s WORK of Salvation to save whosoever believes that Jesus died for their sins.

Christ belongs to God!

Here is 1 Corinthians 3:23 from the King James Version.

“And you are Christ's; and Christ is God's

Certainly Christians have no problem with us BELONGING to Jesus. But some Christians seem to get offended when I tell them that Jesus BELONGS to God. And that is because they have been wrongly taught that Jesus IS Almighty God himself. So, immediately they say that God cannot belong to God. That makes no sense, whatsoever. And they would be right IF Jesus were truly Almighty God himself. For how could Almighty God himself belong to himself?

But the original Greek text teaches us that Jesus was a POSSESSION OF God in the same way that we are the POSSESSION OF Jesus our Lord and Christ.

Here is 1 Corinthians 3:23 in the Greek with the Strong’s numbers and the cases of the Greek words.

1 Corinthians 3:23.

υμειςG4771 P-2NP  δεG1161 CONJ χριστουG5547 N-GSM  χριστοςG5547 N-NSM δεG1161 CONJ θεουG2316 N-GSM

And—conjunction

You-- P-2NP  ye or you is the subject

[are]

And—conjunction

Christ-- N-NSM  Christ changes from genitive to the subject in the next clause of the sentence.

[is]

God’s-- N-GSM God is genitive. Thus, Christ is God’s possession.

Even though “RELIGIOUS” tradition makes it hard for some christians to see that Jesus is a POSSESSION OF God it makes PERFECT sense when you understand that Jesus was MADE both Lord and Christ BY Almighty God as Yahweh’s WORK of Salvation.

Here are some other translations of this same verse.

1 Corinthians 3:23 (CEB)

“But you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.”

1 Corinthians 3:23 (CJB)

“And you belong to the Messiah, and the Messiah belongs to God.

And WHO is the Messiah? According to the Bible, the Messiah is the Son of MAN, Jesus, the SON OF the living God, whom God ANOINTED with his Holy Spirit and POWER.

1 Corinthians 3:23 (ESV)

“And you are Christ's, and Christ is God's.”

1 Corinthians 3:23 (NLT)

“And you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.”

Now to me, my children belong to me as being a part of me. We are a family. I am human and thus they are human. I am a father and I am also a son of my father. But I am not my father and I am not my son. Some Christians then conclude that since a human father begets a human Son then it stands to reason that the divine God begat a divine Son. And, therefore, Jesus was BOTH the fully divine and fully human at the same time.

However, that is just a THEORY. It is a man-made interpretation to try and explain HOW Jesus did the mighty works that he did that ONLY God could do. And because of this man-made dual nature doctrine, some Christians have failed to see the TRUE Jesus whom God ANOINTED with the Holy Spirit and power. So, to ME, both Oneness Christians and Trinitarian Christians are teaching ANOTHER Jesus that was NOT taught by the Apostles of Jesus. Keep reading and you will see this truth as well, if you are truly seeking the truth of the whole word of Almighty God.

God is the HEAD over of his Christ!

Please read 1 Corinthians 11:1-3.

Be you followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. (Paul is saying to follow him as he follows the teaching of Jesus Christ himself)

2.  Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. (What Paul and all the Apostles of Jesus taught they received for Jesus. And what the Apostles and Jesus delivered to us is written IN the NEW TESTAMENT of the Bible. And any church TRADITION that is NOT specifically taught IN the Bible itself, IN SIMPLICITY, should be taught AS church TRADITION and NOT as an essential church doctrine that must be believed or you are thrown out of the church or you are treated as a LOST, unsaved apostate heretic, that cannot be saved UNTIL you believe in the doctrine of the Trinity.)

3.  But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.”

The Father is the God OF Jesus DURING the days of his FLESH!

In other words, Jesus had a God OVER and ABOVE him DURING the days of his FLESH before the Son of MAN was glorified and highly exalted by Yahweh the Father to BECOME his eternal Son. You see, it was AFTER Jesus ascended to HIS God and Father after the cross that the Son of MAN, Jesus, was GLORIFIED BY Yahweh. And then the now glorified Son of MAN, Jesus, came back down from heaven to show himself alive for forty days. So then, the when that the apostles beheld the GLORY of the ONLY begotton Son of God was AFTER the Son of man was GLORIFIED to become our Lord and God to rule FOR Yahweh for 1000 years during the FIRST DOMINION.

And to me, the mere sound Biblical undeniable FACT, taught IN SIMPLICITY in the Bible that Jesus has another God OVER and ABOVE him, proves beyond any shadow of a doubt, that it is impossible for Jesus to be Almighty God HIMSELF.

Jesus first IMPLIED that Yahweh, the Father, was HIS God when he recited the Shema in Matthew by saying OUR Lord.

Matthew 12:29.

“And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:”

Then Jesus first directly calls Almighty God, the Father and HIS God, was while he was suffering and dying on the cross. He cried out to HIS God.

Please read Mark 15:34.

“And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? Which is, being interpreted, MY God, MY God, why have you forsaken me?”

And then, right after Jesus was resurrected he tells Mary Magdalene NOT to TOUCH him because he has not yet ascended to HIS God and Father. And then later that same day in the evening Jesus appeared to his disciples in the upper room and specifically told them to HANDLE or TOUCH him so that they could see that he was NOT a SPIRIT.

Please read John 20:17.

“Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ASCEND unto my Father, and your Father; (We all agree and have no problem with Almighty God being the Father OF Jesus and our Father as well. But when Christians like myself tell Trinitarian and Oneness Christians that Jesus has a God over him they try to explain it away by saying that ONLY the HUMAN side of Jesus had a God over him) and to MY God, and your God.”

And the reason why Oneness and Trinitarians try to explain away Jesus having another God over him by claiming that Jesus had TWO NATURES at the same time is that they NEED Jesus to BE Almighty God HIMSELF or their man-made doctrines fall apart. The Roman Catholic Church came up with a new doctrine that teaches that Jesus had TWO NATURES at the Council of Chalcedon in 451 AD. This was after the Council of Nicea in 325 AD which is when the Roman Catholic Church concluded that God was a Trinity God. The doctrine of the Trinity was revisited or revised at the council of Constantinople in 381 AD.

But yet there is absolutely NO Scriptures to support that Jesus had two natures at the same time during the days of his FLESH. Yes, their may be a NEED for such a teaching, if so be, that you are a Christian that believes in either the Oneness doctrine or the Trinity doctrine. And that NEED is ONLY to try and keep either of those doctrines from being proven in error.

However, there is NO NEED for any such so-called dual nature doctrine when Christians believe in the TRUE Jesus taught to us by the apostles of Jesus. The dual nature doctrine is ONLY NEEDED to teach ANOTHER Jesus that was NOT taught by the apostles of Jesus.

The TRUTH of the matter is that Almighty God is STILL YET the God OF Jesus even AFTER the Son of man was GLORIFIED to BECOME another God UNDER and SUBJECT to HIS God and Father, Yahweh, who is the ONLY TRUE God according to Jesus HIMSELF.

Please read John 17:3 where Jesus is praying to his Father up in heaven right before the time of the crucifixion of Jesus.

John 17:3.

And this is life eternal, that they might know YOU the ONLY TRUE God, AND Jesus Christ, whom YOU have SENT.”

Again, the word SENT means to COMMISSION. And the word commission means that Almighty God GAVE the Son of MAN power and authority to accomplish the will of his God and Father even to suffer and die on the cross for the sins of the world.

The Father is the God OF Jesus right now in heaven!

The so-called dual nature doctrine is worthless to claim that it was only the HUMAN side of Jesus that was under and subject to God. Because For you see, Jesus is no longer a MORTAL human after he was glorified by the Father, after the cross. Please read Revelation 3:12, where Jesus says FOUR times in ONE single verse, that he still has the God Yahweh, the Father, over him and HIS God.

Revelation 3:12.

“Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of MY God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of MY God, and the name of the city of MY God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from MY God: and I will write upon him my new name.”

And not only is Almighty God the Father THE God OF his Son Jesus right NOW, up in heaven, but Jesus will ALSO still yet have Almighty God th Father over him as HIS God DURING the 1000 year reign of Jesus. You see, Jesus will be ruling FOR Almighty God Yahweh DURING the world to come for 1000 years.

The Father is the God OF Jesus during the 1000 year reign of Jesus!

In Hebrews 1:8,9 we see the father talking TO his Son about his Son’s throne where his Son will be called by the TITLE of God.

Hebrews 1:8.

“But unto the Son he says, YOUR throne, O God, is forever and ever (Meaning for an age): a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom. (Speaking of the kingdom of God’s dear Son where Jesus will rule FOR Yahweh for 1000 years.)

9.  You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; THEREFORE (Which means for this very reason that you have loved RIGHTEOUSNESS and hated iniquity or sin) God, EVEN YOUR God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.”

Here we see that the Father is the God OF or over his Son, Jesus, AFTER the cross and has GIVEN or has GRANTED him to sit on his throne for the first dominion which will last for 1000 years. If you are not familiar with the 1000 year reign of Jesus and you desire to know what the Bible itself teaches concerning this first dominion then please read the study “THE 1000 YEAR REIGN OF JESUS!” But for now you can see a glimpse of the 1000 year reign of Jesus in 1 Corinthians 15:27 where Almighty God puts all the enemies under the feet of Jesus during the Millennium.

Please read 1 Corinthians 15:27.

“For he (Speaking of Almighty God the Father) has put all things under his feet (Referring to his Son Jesus). But when he (Almighty God the Father) says all things are put under him (The SON OF God), it is manifest (Or CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD) that he (Almighty God the Father) is excepted, which did put all things under him.”

In other words, Almighty God the Father will be the one who places all things into the hands of his Son to be the God of the whole earth for 1000 years but it is clearly understood that Yahweh the Father is still yet over his Son. To say this another way, Jesus will be second in command next to his God and Father Yahweh for 1000 years. But Jesus will be ruling FOR Yahweh during the Sabbath rest of Yahweh.

Here is 1 Corinthians 15:27 from some other translations.

1 Corinthians 15:27 (BBE)

“For, as it says, He has put all things under his feet. But when he says, All things are put under him, it is clear that it is not said about him who put all things under him.”

1 Corinthians 15:27 (CEB)

“Since he has brought everything under control under his feet. When it says that everything has been brought under his control, this clearly means everything except for the one who placed everything under his control.”

1 Corinthians 15:27 (CJB)

“For He put everything in subjection under his feet." But when it says that "everything" has been subjected, obviously the word does not include God, who is himself the one subjecting everything to the Messiah.”

1 Corinthians 15:27 (GW)

“Clearly, God has put everything under Christ's authority. When God says that everything has been put under Christ's authority, this clearly excludes God, since God has put everything under Christ's authority.”

1 Corinthians 15:27 (NCV)

“The Scripture says that God put all things under his control. When it says "all things" are under him, it is clear this does not include God himself. God is the One who put everything under his control.”

1 Corinthians 15:27 (NIRV)

“Scripture says that God "has put everything under his control."(Psalm 8:6) It says that "everything" has been put under him. But it is clear that this does not include God himself, who puts everything under Christ.”

1 Corinthians 15:27 (NLT)

“For the Scriptures say, “God has put all things under his authority.” (Of course, when it says “all things are under his authority,” that does not include God himself, who gave Christ his authority.)”

The Father will yet be the God OVER his Son Jesus in eternity future even AFTER the 1000 year reign of Jesus.

Then after the 1000 year reign of Jesus when the LAST enemy death is destroyed in the lake of fire, then Jesus will commit the ruling of the kingdom of God back into the hands of his God and Father who alone is the Almighty God.

1 Corinthians 15:28 (CEB)

“But when all things have been brought under his control, then the Son himself will also be under the control of the one who gave him control over everything so that God may be all in all.”

1 Corinthians 15:28 (GNT)

“But when all things have been placed under Christ's rule, then he himself, the Son, will place himself under God, who placed all things under him; and God will rule completely over all.”

1 Corinthians 15:28 (GW)

“But when God puts everything under Christ's authority, the Son will put himself under God's authority, since God had put everything under the Son's authority. Then God will be in control of everything.”

1 Corinthians 15:28 (MSG)

“When everything and everyone is finally under God's rule, the Son will step down, taking his place with everyone else, showing that God's rule is absolutely comprehensive - a perfect ending!

1 Corinthians 15:28 (NCV)

“After everything has been put under the Son, then he will put himself under God, who had put all things under him. Then God will be the complete ruler over everything.”

1 Corinthians 15:28 (NLT)

“Then, when all things are under his authority, the Son will put himself under God’s authority, so that God, who gave his Son authority over all things, will be utterly supreme over everything everywhere.”

So then, the question becomes WHO is preaching ANOTHER Jesus?

Are the Oneness Christians preaching ANOTHER Jesus that the Apostle of Jesus did NOT teach in SIMPLICITY?

Are the Trinitarian Christians preaching ANOTHER Jesus that the Apostles of Jesus did NOT teach in SIMPLICITY?

Are the Biblical Unitarian Christians teaching ANOTHER Jesus that the Apostles of Jesus did NOT teach in SIMPLICITY?

I mean which teaching is the SIMPLEST for YOU to believe? For me, it is easier to believe that Jesus is the FULFILLMENT of PROPHECY. It is easier for me to believe that God’s Son had a BEGINNING.

And most of all, it is a great blessing to know that Jesus is my fellow BROTHER who was tempted in all points just like me as a HUMAN being who has the Holy Spirit dwelling in me. This TRUTH set me FREE from the bondage of sin.

The doctrine of the Trinity HELD me in the bondage of sin. You see, preachers who teach the doctrine of the Trinity ALSO teach that ONLY Jesus can live without sin. And that KEPT me in the bondage of sin.

But now, I know that everything that Jesus did he did THROUGH the power of the eternal Spirit DWELLING IN him. And that TRUTH has set me FREE from the bondage of sin. I see absolutely NO value or merit of teaching the doctrine of the Trinity to help improve a Christians walk in godliness. To me, some Christians even develop a WRONG spirit to dogmatically demand that if Christians do NOT believe the doctrine of the Trinity then they are NOT saved. And that they cannot be saved until they believe the doctrine of the Trinity. But yet that is not taught in the scripture in SIMPLICITY. I, myself, do not even see it being IMPLIED as an essential doctrine that MUST be believed in order to receive eternal life in the world to come.

To me, that is ANOTHER gospel that the Apostles of Jesus did NOT teach.

Thanks for reading and may God bless you richly as you continue to seek to truth of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.

Your brother in our Lord Jesus Christ,

Mark.
