S-1. Is the KING JAMES BIBLE CORRUPTED?

        SPELLING EDITED

S-1. Is the KING JAMES BIBLE CORRUPT?

Is the King James Version of the Bible the PURE word of Almighty God? Now, I have been a DEFENDER of the King James Bible from when I first became a Christian a little over 41 years ago from the time I am writing this particular study. I have read from many other Bible translations but I always came back to the KJV because I have found that almost all of the verses of Scripture in the King James Version can be “INTERPRETED” in different ways.

What I mean by this is that if you are a Trinitarians Christian then some verses of Scripture can be “interpreted” to mean that God is a Trinity God. And if you are a Oneness Christian then some of those SAME verses of Scripture can be “interpreted” to mean One God in ONE person. And if you are a Unitarian Christian some of the same verses of Scripture can be “interpreted” to mean that the Son of God had his beginning in the eternity past. And if you are a Biblical Unitarian Christian the all of the verses of Scripture can be “interpreted” to mean that Jesus came into existence as God’s human Son first at his virgin birth and then God highly exalted the Son of MAN to become God’s ETERNAL Son after the cross to be MADE our Lord God and Savior.

BUT, in some modern translations, the translators have “INTERPRETED” the Bible FOR you, and the way that some verses in the modern translations have been translated so that they can NOT be understood in any other way. In other words, THEY have INTERPRETED the Bible in their OWN understand rather than TRANSLATING the Bible and allowing YOU to interpret the Bible with the leading of the Holy Spirit. And, in regard to some verses, the modern translations are not even “correctly” translated. So if you did not already know the true meaning of those verses of Scripture then you could become deceived if you “idolize” any particular Bible translation as being the ONLY PURE word of Almighty God.

Now, while the King James translation is still yet my favorite translation, I am by far NOT a KJV ONLY Christian. In fact, I feel that I must WARN King James Only Christians of the Trinitarian BIASED “corruptions” in the King James Bible that make the KJV one of the most Trinitarian BIASED translations that have been translated into English. The word “corrupted” is perhaps too harsh of a word so I will use words like “changes” have been made, verses have been “tampered” with to influence Christians to believe a certain way, and SUBTLE CHANGES have been made to become a Trinitarian bias “translation” of the Bible.

Many Christians are aware of the “Johannine Comma” controversy. The word “Johannine” simply means referring to the writings of the Apostle John. More specifically to the “Comma” or to the clause in 1 John 5:7,8. The controversy is over whether this clause was added or whether this clause was deleted first and then added back. I will quote 1 John 5:6-8 from the King James Version and place the Johannine clause in blue type. And then I will quote the KJV without the clause like many of the modern translations read.

1 John 5:6-8.

“This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness because the Spirit is truth.

7.  For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

8.  And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.”

1 John 5:6-8 without the Johannine Comma.

“This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness because the Spirit is truth.

7.  For there are three that bear record.

8. The Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.”

Any Christian with eyes to see and ears to hear can clearly see that the Johannine Comma ADDS credibility to the doctrine of the Trinity. And to me, the “scholarly” evidence even by some Trinitarian Bible scholars is overwhelming that this Johannine clause was ADDED to the Greek text in the mid fifteen hundreds or the sixteenth-century based upon the Latin Vulgate. Below are two video teachings. The first video is by a well known Trinitarian Bible scholar and Trinitarian apologist who is a “hardcore” Trinitarian Christian. But this time he refutes another Trinitarian that is trying to defend the Trinitarian Johannine Comma. And the second video is by a non-Trinitarian Christian who makes some great points but I would not go as far as to say to never read the KJV again. Nonetheless, all his other points are “spot-on” in agreement with some Trinitarian Bible scholars who are HONEST to the sound Bible evidence found in the original Greek manuscripts. I strongly encourage my readers to watch both videos that are relatively short videos that speak to common lay Christians. The second video is 11 minutes and 10 seconds.

RESPONSE TO 1 JOHN 5:7 DEFENSE

1 JOHN 5:7 JOHANNINE COMMA

Now, after seeing the sound Biblical evidence that 1 John 5:7 and part of verse 8 was deliberately ADDED to the Greek manuscript to SWAY Christians to believe that Jesus is God the Son in the flesh you have to wonder if there are any more CHANGES in the King James Version from EARLIER English translations of the Bible.

Before we get into the more “SUBTLE” changes in the English translation of John 1:1 and other verses of Scripture, I would like for my readers to watch two more short video teaching concerning the controversy of the ADDING of the Trinitarian baptismal formula in Matthew 29:19. Again, I will read Matthew 28:19 from the King James Version with the “alleged” added Trinity baptismal formula in blue type and then again without the alleged” added words.

Matthew 28:18-20.

“And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and on earth. (Or more precisely All power is given unto me UNDER heaven and OVER the earth

19.  Go you, therefore, and teach (Or make disciples of) all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20.  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Matthew 28:18-20 without the Trinity baptismal formula.

“And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and on earth. (Or more precisely All power is given unto me UNDER heaven and OVER the earth

19.  Go you, therefore, and teach (Or make disciples of) all nations, IN MY NAME,

20.  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Even the Roman Catholic Church openly admits to ADDING the baptismal formula. Here is a link to the website that has MANY Roman Catholic sources that openly admit that the baptismal formula was added later and it was not “commonly” used until the FOURTH-century which was the time that Roman Catholic doctrine was made “DOGMA” or made LAW in today's terms.

Below is just one of many quotes from the above website if you want to download the PDF file. He shows actual photographs of the books used by the Roman Catholic Church.

The Catholic Encyclopedia “The baptismal formula was changed from the name of Jesus Christ to the words Father, Son, and Holy Spirit by the Catholic Church in the second century.” (p. 263) “The threefold immersion is unquestionably very ancient in the Church. ...Its object is, of course, to honor the Three Persons of the Holy Trinity in whose name it [the baptism] is conferred.” (p. 262)

Now, according to early church writers such as Eusebius the library that held some 30,000 Greek manuscripts burnt to the ground during the SAME time that the doctrine of the Trinity was being FORMED. Also, during that same time, the Roman Catholic Church burned all the Christian writings that they could find that denied the doctrine of the Trinity. And the Trinity baptismal formula ONLY appears in Greek manuscripts AFTER the FOURTH-century. Is this all just a coincidence? You decide for yourself. Below, the first video gives some history on the fire that destroyed the Greek manuscripts and quotes of Matthew 28:19 from writing BEFORE the fire that is WITHOUT the Trinitarian baptismal formula.

Catholic teaching on Johannine community

These historical facts raise some very reasonable questions as to whether or not the King James translation has been translated with BIAS toward the doctrine of the Trinity. We have seen evidence of “tampering” with both 1 John 5:7,8, the Johannine Comma, and along with the Trinity Baptismal formula controversy in Matthew 28:19. And since the Gospel of Luke has taught us in SIMPLICITY the Son of God did not exist before he was brought into existence in the womb of a virgin in makes ME wonder how many other verses of Scripture in the King James Bible have been “tampered” with to make them TRINITARIAN in their understanding?

With that being said, I found fifty Bible translations of John 1:1 on a Biblical Unitarian website that I will link below. The fifty Bible translations show SUBTLE very slow changes where some of the changes go back to the way they were before while only LEAVING a TINY change each time. To me, this is like some Christians “PROTESTED” about the changes so the translators change it back but LEFT a tiny change. And over TIME Christians got used to the “tiny” changes and over more time Christians finally accepted the bigger changes in John 1:1 to what we now have in the King James Version of today. Here is a link to the Biblical Unitarian website and a quote from that website.

The Greek word logos had appeared in the Old Testament some 1500 times and never was “word” a person, but always an utterance, command, promise, decree, etc. This is also its meaning at the opening of John’s Gospel, where he draws a parallel between the Genesis creation through the word and the New Creation which occurred when God’s word, promise, design, intention and plan became a human being, Jesus Christ. There was no Son of God until he began to exist in the womb of Mary.

Happily, there are some 50 translations of the Bible that reflect the original meaning of the text either by not capitalizing “word” as Word to turn it into a second divine Person or by using the pronoun “it” for the word, rather than “Him.”

Others have creative, good paraphrases for “word” and suggest the Intelligent Design of God one day to produce a Son who would be the center of God’s immortality program.

If you had been reading the English Bibles which appeared before the King James version of 1611 you would have been introduced to God’s grand design, or word, His master-plan which later in history became the man Jesus Christ, Son of God.

We begin with the translation of William Tyndale, martyred for his efforts to get the Bible to the public.

The Roman Catholic Church by this time controlled what Christians were being taught. Latin was the language of the priests during the Catholic Mass. Priests read from Bibles translated into Latin. So unless you understood the Latin language you had no idea what the Bible taught except for what the Catholic priest told you. So William Tyndale and some others want COMMON Christians to have a Bible in the English language. And the Roman Catholic Church or someone else did not like that idea of common Christians having a Bible that they could read for THEMSELVES, And William Tyndale was MARTYRED for his efforts to get an English translation of the Bible to the common people. Another evidence of TAMPERING with God’s word by trying to PREVENT common people from reading the Bible for THEMSELVES to SEE if what they have been taught is the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.

“In the beginnynge was the worde, and the worde was with God, and the worde was god. The same was in the beginnynge with god. All thinges were made by it, and without it, was made nothinge that was made. In it was lyfe, and the lyfe was the lyght of men, and the lyght shyneth in the darcknes but the darcknes comprehended it not” (William Tyndale, The New Testament, 1534).

Please notice that in John 1:1 c, the word “god” is lowercase “g”. And also notice that the word is NOT capitalized either. And further notice that the pronoun use that refers back to the word is the pronoun IT and NOT the pronoun “he”. Now you can see a possible reason for why someone martyred William Tyndale. The next year another translation emerged.

"In the begynnynge was the worde, and the worde was with God, and God was the worde. The same was in the begynnynge with God. All thinges were made by the same, and without the same was made nothinge that was made. In him was the life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shyneth in the darknesse, and the darknesse comprehended it not” (Miles Coverdale, Biblia: The Byble, that is, the holy Scripture of the Olde and New Testament, faythfully translated into Englyshe, 1535).

In the 1535 translation we see THREE subtle changes. The word “God” is now capitalized. The pronoun “IT” is changed to the word “SAME” in two places and the last pronoun “IT” is changed to the pronoun “him” which was changed BACK to the pronoun “IT” two years later. The word is still yet LOWERCASE.

"In the begynnynge was the worde, and the word was with God, and the worde was God. The same was in the begynnynge wyth God. All thynges were made by it and without it was made nothynge that was made. In it was lyfe, and the lyfe was the lyght of men, and the lyght shyneth in the darknes, but the darknes comprehended it not" (Matthews’ Bible, The Byble, that is to saye, all the holy Scripture: in whych are contayned the olde and new Testamente, truly and purely translated into English, and nowe lately with greate industry and diligence recognised. London: John Daye and William Seres, 1537).

“In the begynnynge was the worde, and the worde was wyth God; and God was the worde. The same was in the begynnyng wyth God. All thinges were made by it, and wythout it, was made nothynge that was made. In it was lyfe, and the lyfe was the lyght of men, and the lyght shyneth in darcknes, and the darcknes comprehended it not” (Great Bible, The Byble in Englyshe, that is to saye the Content of al the holy Scrypture, both of the olde, and newe Testament, London: Edward Whitchurche, 1539).

"In the begynnyng was the worde, and the word was with God, and God was the worde. The same was in the begynnyng with God. All thynges were made by it, and wythoute it was made nothynge that was made. In it was lyfe, and the lyfe was the lyght of men, and the lyght shyneth in darkenes, and the darkenes comprehended it not" (Richard Taverner, The Epistles and Gospelles with a brief Postyl upon the same. London: Richard Bankes, 1540).

"In the beginning was the word, and the worde was with God, and that worde was God. The same was in the begynnyng with God. Althinges were made by it, and without it was made nothing that was made. In it was lyfe, and the lyfe was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkeness, and the darknes comprehended it not” (William Whittingham, The Newe Testament of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Conferred Diligently with the Greke, and Best Approved Translation, Geneva: Conrad Badius, 1557).

So basically, the word “word” was NOT capitalized for the first seven years with the exception of 1536 where the ONE pronoun “he” was changed BACK to the pronoun “IT”. But three years later in 1560 they translators made another change. They LEFT the pronoun “IT” but they CAPITALIZED the word to Word. Pretty “sneaky” if you ask me.

“In the beginning was the Worde, and the Worde was with God and that Worde was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by it, and without it was made nothing that was made. In it was lif, and the lif was the light of men. And the light shineth in the darkenes, and the darkenes comprehended it not” (Geneva Bible, The Bible and Holy Scriptures conteyned in the Olde and Newe Testament, Geneva: Rouland Hall, 1560).

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and God was that Word. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by it, and without it, was made nothing that was made. In it was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in the darknesse, and the darknesse comprehendeth it not” (Bishops’ Bible, The Holie Bible, London: Richard Jugge, 1568).

“In the beginning was that Word, and that Word was with God, and that Word was God. This same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by it, and without it was made nothing that was made. In it was life, and that life was the light of men. And that light shineth in the darknes, and the darknesse comprehended it not” (Lawrence Tomson, The New Testament of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Translated out of Greeke by Theod. Beza, London: Robert Barker, 1607).

The next translation is a “paraphrased” translation which is more like a commentary. But it lets us know what the translator and the Christians at that time believed.

“Before the Creation of the World, Reason did exist, for Reason was then in God; indeed was God himself, it not being possible for God to be without it. Reason, I say, did exist in God before the Creation of the World, every portion of which was created with the greatest Reason; nor can any thing be produc’d that has been made without it. In this Reason alone, formerly resided the perfect Knowledg of the way that leads to everlasting Life; which it was impossible for men to find out otherways than as enlighten’d by this knowledg, made in some measure partakers of it, and under the guidance of it, as it had been a most glorious Light preceding, and pointing out the way they were to follow. But this Light has since been brought down to men, has shin’d among ’em many Years, and continues to direct the Ignorant in the way to Life, tho’ most neglect the use of it, and chuse to wander on still in the darkness of their Ignorance” (John LeClerc, The Harmony of the Evangelists, London: Samuel Buckley, 1701).

The next translation was in 1761 and the Word was changed BACK to the word with a lowercase “w”. And the pronoun “IT” was changed to the word “SAME”.

“The word was in the beginning; and the word was with God, and the word was God; (the word was with God in the beginning). Through the same all things were made, and without the same was not made even one thing that was made. In the same was life, and that life was the light of human beings; and the light shineth on the darkness, yet the darkness apprehended it not” (Mortimer, Divers Parts of the Holy Scriptures Done into English, London: T. Piety, 1761).

“In the beginning was Wisdom, and Wisdom was with God, and Wisdom was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by it, and without it was nothing made. What was made, had life in it, and this life was the light of men; and this light shineth in darkness, and the darkness hindered it not” (Gilbert Wakefield, A Translation of the New Testament, London: Philanthropic Press, 1791).

In 1826 the word was changed to the capitalized Word but the pronoun same was changed back to the pronoun “IT”.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. This was in the beginning with God. All things were made by it, and without it not a single creature was made. In it was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shone in darkness; but the darkness admitted it not” (Alexander Campbell, The Sacred Writings of the Apostles and Evangelists of Jesus Christ, Commonly Styled the New Testament, Translated from the Original Greek, Buffaloe, Brooke County, VA: Alexander Campbell, 1826).

“In the beginning existed the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. This was in the commencement with God. All things were formed by it, and without it not even one thing was made, which has existed. In it was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shone in darkness, and the darkness did not overpower it” (Rodolphus Dickinson, A New and Corrected Version of the New Testament; or, a Minute Revision, and Professed Translation of the Original Histories, Memoirs, Letters, Prophecies, and Other Productions of the Evangelists and Apostles, Boston: Lilly, Wait, Colman and Holden, 1833).

We now enter the year 1847 which is well past the year 1611 edition of the King James Bible but yet is some English translations the pronoun “IT” is still being used to refer to the Word as a THING SPOKEN and NOT as a separate person who was with God in the eternity past.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. This was in the beginning with God. All things were made by it; and without it nothing was made that was made. In it was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shone in the darkness; and the darkness did not admit it” (David Barnard, The Holy Bible; Being the English Version of the Old and New Testaments, Made by Order of King James I, Carefully Revised and Amended, by Several Biblical Scholars. Mannsville, NY: D.S. Dean and Rhodes Barker, 1847).

“In the Beginning was the Logos, and the Logos was with God, and the Logos was God. This was in the Beginning with God. Through it every thing was done; and without it not even one thing was done, which has been done. In it was life; and the Life was the Light of Men. And the Light shone in the Darkness, and the Darkness apprehended it not” (Benjamin Wilson, The Emphatic Diaglott: Containing the Original Greek Text of What Is Commonly Styled the New Testament, New York: Fowler and Wells, 1864).

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and God was the Word. This was in the beginning with God. All things through it arose into being, and without it arose not even one thing which has arisen. In it is Life, and the Life was the Light of men. And the Light shines on, in the Darkness; and the Darkness did not apprehend it” (Nathaniel S. Folsom, The Four Gospels: Translated from the Greek Text of Tischendorf, Boston: A. Williams, 1869).

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was with God in the (first) beginning. All things were made through it, and without it was not any one thing made. What hath been made by means of it was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness perceived it not” (Samuel Sharpe, The Holy Bible, Being a Revision of the Authorised English Version, London: Williams and Norgate, 1898).

"In the beginning was Thought, and Thought was with God, and Thought was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Thought. In Thought was life; and that life was the light of men. There was the true light coming into the world which lights every man. It was in the world, and the world came into being through it, but the world did not recognize it" (Richard A. Armstrong, The Trinity, and the Incarnation, Boston: American Unitarian Association, 1904).

“The Love Thought was the beginning. In the very beginning it was with the Father of Love and it was the Father of Love. All things were made by the Love Thought and without it was not anything made that ever was made. In it was Life and the Life was the Light of men. The Light shone in darkness and the darkness has never been able to overcome it, or even to comprehend it” (Dwight Goddard, The Good News of a Spiritual Realm, New York: Fleming H. Revell, 1916).

“In original being the Word, or GOD-Idea existed; and the GOD-Idea existed in at-one-ment with GOD; and the GOD-Idea was GOD-manifest. The same existed in original being, at-one with GOD. All things came into being in this GOD-conception, and apart from it came not anything into being that came into being. In the GOD-Idea Life, GOD, was manifest, and Life, GOD, was the Light of men. And the Light shineth in darkness; but the darkness comprehendeth it not” (Arthur E. Overbury, The People’s New Testament (New Covenant) Scriptural Writings Translated from the Meta-Physical Standpoint, Monrovia, CA: Arthur E. Overbury, 1925).

The next translation was in 1929 and the Word is BACK to word and the Pronoun “IT” is still being used some THREE HUNDRED and EIGHTEEN years later after the first King James Bible was printed.

“In the beginning was the word, and the word was toward God, and God was the word. This was in the beginning toward God. All came into being through it, and apart from it not even one thing came into being which has come into being. In it was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light is appearing in the darkness, and the darkness grasped it not” (A.E. Knoch, The Sacred Scriptures: Concordant Literal New Testament, Canyon Country, CA: Concordant Publishing Concern, 1926).

Then four years later we see a MAJOR CHANGE is the following PARAPHRASED translation which is almost all COMMENTARY of one’s own personal “INTERPRETATION” of John 1:1. To me, this is like a COUNTER translation to the 1926 translation where the Word was changed BACK to the word but some Christians had gotten used to the Word being personified as being WITHIN God and thus, to them, the word was Spirit or what God was. BUT the 1930 translation goes a step further to make the Word a SEPARATE God who was WITH God in the eternity past. In other words, TWO ETERNAL Gods where BOTH Gods are CREATORS God. And the Bible itself does NOT teach us that there were two separate creator-Gods in the eternity past. I hope you can see HOW the SUBTLE CHANGE of capitalizing the word or Word has INFLUENCED Christians toward the doctrine of the Trinity.

“In the beginning of all things, when God first created heaven and earth, the Word, or living expression of the Father’s thought, already was in being; and the Word was with, nay, was comprised within the one Godhead, within the being that alone is God, and the Word was himself truly God. When, therefore, with the creation of the universe there was a beginning of time, this divine person already was, God with God [this part of the translation we think disturbs what was earlier well-expressed]. God in closest relation and intimate union with God. And inasmuch as from all eternity God the Word is the distinct utterance of the divine idea which is reflected exteriorly in created things, all things came into being through him, and without him there came into being nothing that has ever been brought about. In him with all perfection of causality, efficient and exemplar, was life; and this life, as imparting to men true intellectual activity, was light; and throughout the long ages that followed upon man’s fall, this light was shining in the darkness, emitting whatever there was of natural and supernatural illumination, and the darkness never altogether overcame the light” (Charles F. Blount, Half-Hours with S. John’s Gospel, London: Burns Oates and Washbourne, 1930).

Three years later in 1933 the word God was changed BACK to “god” with the LOWERCASE “g”. But the Word went back to being capitalized and the pronoun “IT” was CHANGED to the pronoun “him” is ALL FOUR locations instead of the ONE location in 1536 some 397 years of the pronoun as being “IT” all those years in SOME translations. We know that the King James Version has used the pronoun “him” since its first edition in 1611.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was god [this is of interest in excluding a second coequal God]. When he was in the beginning with God all things were created through him; without him came no created thing into being. In him was life, and the life was the light of men; and the light shone on in the darkness, and the darkness overcame it not” (Charles Cutler Torrey, The Four Gospels: A New Translation, New York: Harper and Brothers, 1933).

“In the Beginning there existed the Divine Reason, and the Divine Reason was with God, and the Divine Reason was God. This Divine Reason at the Beginning was in closest relation with God. Through the Divine Reason, all things came into being; and apart therefrom there was not brought into being even a single thing which has come to exist. In the Divine Reason there subsisted Life; and that Life was the spiritual Light of mankind. And the Light shone, and still shines, in the spiritual Darkness, and the Darkness has not overpowered it” (G.W. Wade, The Documents of the New Testament Translated and Historically Arranged with Critical Introductions, London: Thomas Murby, 1934).

Now, Sir, Anthony Buzzard, or someone else made a comment in brackets that this next translation is not a correct translation but I myself DISAGREE. I believe that the article “a” should be in italics or in brackets to let the reader know that the “theos” does not HAVE to be [a] God and that the word “theos” COULD POSSIBLY mean that the word was [the] God. But since there is NOT a definite article “THE” then the “theos” in John 1:1 c can NOT be FORCED to mean Yahweh Himself. In fact, there is much evidence the John 1:1c was intended to mean [a] God under and subject to his God and Father which is exactly what happened as the FULFILLMENT of the LOGOS.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God; and the Word was a god [this translation is incorrect]. This was with God in the beginning. Everything came into being through the Word, and without it nothing created sprang into existence. In it is life, and that life was the light of mankind. The light shines in the realm of darkness, but the darkness would have not of it” (Johannes Greber, The New Testament: A New Translation and Explanation Based on the Oldest Manuscripts, New York: John Felsberg, 1937).

“In the beginning was the everlasting Word, and the everlasting Word was with God, and of godlike nature was the everlasting Word. Hence it was in the beginning with God. By its activity all things came into being and naught that exists came apart from its activity” (Martin Dibelius, The Message of Jesus Christ, Translated by Frederick C. Grant, New York: Charles Scribner’s Sons, 1939).

“In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God. And the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. Through its agency all things came to be, and apart from it hath not one thing come to be. What came to be in it was Life, and the Life was the light of men, and the light shineth in the darkness, and the darkness did not absorb it” (William Temple, Archbishop of Canterbury, Readings in St. John’s Gospel, London: Macmillan, 1939).

“The Energising Mind was in existence from the very beginning; the Energising Mind was in communion with God; the Energising Mind was divine. He was with God from all eternity. Everything was brought into existence through him, and apart from him no single entity came into being. He was the spring of life and his life was the Light for mankind. This Light shines in moral and spiritual darkness, and the darkness has never quenched it” (Freeman Wills Crofts, The Four Gospels in One Story, Written as a Modern Biography, London: Longmans, Green and Company, 1949).

“First there was the Thought, and the Thought was in God; the Thought was God. He was in God from the first. It was through him that everything came into being; not one thing came into being without him. As for that which has come into being in union with him, it was life, and that life was the Light of mankind. The Light is shining in the darkness and the darkness does not overpower it” (F.R. Hoare, A Translation from the Greek into Current English of the Gospel According to John, Arranged in its Conjectured Original Order, London: Burns Oates and Washbourne, 1949).

The above 1949 translation was kind of a COMPROMISE. And in 1958, two years after I was born, the Word was once again changed BACK to the word with a lowercase “w”.

“At the beginning God expressed himself. That personal expression, that word, was with God and was God, and he existed with God from the beginning. All creation took place through him, and none took place without him. In him appeared life and this life was the light of mankind. The light still shines in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out” (J.B. Phillips, The New Testament in Modern English, New York: Macmillan, 1958).

In the same year, the pronoun “him went back to the pronoun “It” but this time the pronoun “It” is CAPITALIZED.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a God. In the beginning This Word was with God. All was done through It, and without It not even one thing was done. In It was life, and the life was the light of men. And the Light shone in darkness, and darkness apprehended It not” (James L. Tomanek, The New Testament of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Anointed. Pocatello, ID: 1958).

“When the world began, the Word was already there. The Word was with God, and the nature of the Word was the same as the nature of God. The Word was there in the beginning with God. It was through the agency of the Word that everything else came into being. Without the Word not one single thing came into being. As for the whole creation, the Word was the life principle in it, and that life was the light of men. The light continues to shine in the darkness, and the darkness has never extinguished it” (William Barclay, The New Testament: A New Translation. London: Collins, 1969).

“When time began, the Idea already was. The Idea was at home with God, and the Idea and God were one. This same Idea was at home with God when time began. Through him the universe was made, and apart from him not one thing came to be. In him was life, and the life was humanity’s light. And the light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness never quenched it” (Clarence Jordan, The Cotton Patch Version of Matthew and John, New Win, AL: Association Press, 1970).

“At the very beginning of all things – the Word. God and the Word, God himself. At the beginning of all things, the Word and God. All things became what they are through the Word; without the Word nothing ever became anything. It was the Word that made everything alive; and it was this ‘being alive’ that has been the Light by which men have found their way. The Light is still shining in the Darkness; the Darkness has never put it out” (Alan T. Dale, New World: The Heart of the New Testament in Plain English, New York: Morehouse-Barlow, 1973).

“In the very beginning was the Word. God made all things, nothing has ever existed, or will ever exist, except it be made by God. Within the Word was life and this life became the Light for man. The Light shone, but man, in his ignorance, would not fully understand it” (Andrew Edington, The Word Made Fresh, Atlanta: John Knox Press, 1976).

“In the Beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God. So the Word was divine. It was in the Beginning with God. By it everything had being. And without it nothing had being. What had being by it was Life. And Life was the Light of men. And the Light shines in the Darkness. And the Darkness could not suppress it” (Hugh J. Schonfield, The Original New Testament, Edited and Translated from the Greek by the Jewish Historian of Christian Beginnings, San Francisco: Harper and Row, 1985).

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word was in the beginning with God; all things were made through the Word, and without the Word was not anything made that was made. In the Word was life, and the life was the light of all. The light shines in the deepest night, and the night has not overcome it” (Inclusive-Language Lectionary Committee, An Inclusive-Language Lectionary, Atlanta: John Knox Press, 1986).

Now, in the next translation in 1987, I myself would change John 1:1c from “the plan was Yahweh’s” to say WHAT the PLAN of Yahweh WAS which is [A] God to rule FOR Yahweh for 1000 years in the world yet to come IN the NAME OF Yahweh. So I would translate John 1:1c as  “and the PLAN was [a] God.”

“In the beginning was the plan of Yahweh, and the plan was with Yahweh, and the plan was Yahweh’s. The same plan was in the beginning with Yahweh. All things were done according to it, and without it nothing was done, that was done. In this plan was life, and that life was the light to mankind. Now that light shines in the darkness, but the darkness does not take hold of it” (Yisrayl Hawkins, The Book of Yahweh: The Holy Scriptures, Abilene: House of Yahweh, 1987).

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was toward God, and God was what the Word was. It was with God in the beginning. All things happened through it, and not one thing that has happened, happened without it. Within it there was Life, and the Life was the light of the world. And in the darkness the light is shining, and the darkness never got hold of it” (Andy Gaus, The Unvarnished New Testament, Grand Rapids: Phanes Press, 1991).

“In the beginning there was the divine word and wisdom. The divine word and wisdom was there with God, and it was what God was. It was there with God, from the beginning. Everything came to be by means of it; nothing that exists came to be without its agency. In it was life, and this life was the  light of humanity. Light was shining in darkness, and darkness did not master it” (Robert J. Miller, The Complete Gospels: Annotated Scholars Version, Sonoma, CA: Polebridge Press, 1992).

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word was in the beginning with God; all things were made through the Word, and without the Word was not anything made that was made. In the Word was life, and the life was the light of all. The light shines in the deepest night, and the night has not overcome it” (Burton H. Throckmorton, Jr., The Gospels and the Letters of Paul: An Inclusive Language Edition, Cleveland: Pilgrim Press, 1992).

“In the beginning there was the divine word and wisdom. The divine word and wisdom was there with God, and it was what God was. It was there with God from the beginning. Everything came to be by means of it; nothing that exists came to be without its agency. In it was life, and this life was the light of humanity. Light was shining in darkness, and darkness did not master it” (Robert W. Funk, The Five Gospels: The Search for the Authentic Words of Jesus, New York: Macmillan, 1993).

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word was with God in the beginning. All things were made by the Word, and apart from the Word nothing came into being. In the Word was life, and that life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not grasped it” (The New Testament of the Inclusive Language Bible. Notre Dame, IN: Cross Cultural Publications, 1994).

“In the beginning there was the Word; the Word was in God’s presence, and the Word was God. The Word was present to God from the beginning. Through the Word all things came into being, and apart from the Word nothing came into being that has come into being. In the Word was life, and that life was humanity’s light – a Light that shines in the darkness, a Light that the darkness has never overtaken” (The Inclusive New Testament, Brentwood, MD: Priests for Equality, 1994).

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through the Word, and without the Word not one thing came into being. What has come into being in the Word was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the deepest night, and the night did not overcome it” (Victor Roland Gold, The New Testament and Psalms: An Inclusive Version, New York: Oxford University Press, 1995).

“In the beginning was the message, and the message was directed toward God, and ‘God’ the message was. The same one was directed toward God in the beginning. Through it, all things were done. And without it nothing was done. What has been done in it was life. And the life was the Light of humanity. And the light shone in the darkness. But the darkness did not understand it” (Frank Daniels, The Four Gospels: A Non-Ecclesiastical New Testament, 1996).

“In the beginning was the Word, The Word that was with God, God in the beginning was, All things through God were made. Without God was not any thing Made that yet was made. In God was life, and life was light, And light all things displayed. And the life that was the light Shines in the darkness yet; And darkness has not overcome What the light has lit.”

(Jabez L. VanCleef, Gospels in Verse, Xlibris, 1999).

“We believe that the Word of God existed already in the beginning. And we believe that already in the beginning the Word of God was proximate, face to face, to God, and that the word of God was God. This Word of God was, as we have said, proximate to God, God’s way of speaking and acting

We believe that by means of the Word of God, all things came into being, and that apart from the Word of God not even one thing came into being. We believe that in the Word of God all Life was focused, and this Life was the Light of God for the illumination of all people. And the Light of God shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not diminished it” (Norman A. Beck, The New Testament: A New Translation and Redaction, Lima, OH: Fairway Press, 2001).

“In the beginning was the Word, (or, the Expression of (divine) Logic) and the Word was with (or, in communion with) God, and the Word was God (or, was as to His essence God). This One [here the translator reverts to a Second Person] was in the beginning with God. All (things) came to be through Him, and without Him not even one thing came to be which has come to be. In Him was life, and the life was the light of the people. And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not apprehend it” (Gary F. Zeolla, Analytical-Literal Translation of the New Testament of the Holy Bible, Darkness to Light Ministry, 2001).

“Nothing but God, and all that He means, existed in the beginning of absolutely everything. There was no possible way to separate God from His meaning, for only by His meaning can He be identified as God. God’s intentions and purposes existed with Him from the very beginning of everything. God, through His intentions and purposes, created everything that has, or has had, existence in all of time.

The essence and meaning of life, itself, was in God, and in all that He means and intends. Out of all that makes Him God, and gives Him meaning, came the gift of enlightenment to the human beings that He created. Into the lonely world, where God had never shown Himself to His creation, He projected Himself in human form, to be the light to humanity that no one could extinguish” (B.E. Junkins, A Fresh Parenthetical Version of the New Testament, New York: University Press of America, 2002).

The evidence of some fifty translations and paraphrases will show that it is an imposition on Scripture to insist that John wrote, “In the beginning was the Son of God, Jesus.” John was thinking of the Son as promised but not yet in existence. If the Son existed from eternity, that turns God into two and undermines the “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is One Lord,” and the first commandment. If the Son was in existence before he came into existence, this makes no logical sense and contradicts the accounts of Matthew and Luke. If the Son of God is pre-human he cannot be human. If the Son is God, he cannot die, since God cannot die. How very powerful are the words of the professor of NT at Bern;

Here again, is the link to the website where I found the above fifty Bible translation from 1535 to 2002 that clearly teach us that the Greek word “logos” is NOT a literally separate person who was with Yahweh at Yahweh’s side in the eternity past. But rather, the word in the spoken word of PROPHECY that BECAME a SEPARATE person from Yahweh when the spoken word was conceived in the womb of the Virgin Mary to be born as the HUMAN Son of God FIRST. And then Yahweh PERFORMED His own word of PROPHECY to MAKE the Son of MAN become our Lord and our God after the cross to be our Savior.

Again, clearly seeing that there were CHANGES made in the original manuscripts AND ALSO in the TRANSLATIONS of the Bible to make 1 John 5:7,8, Matthew 28:19, and John 1:1-3 read as Trinitarian biased verses of Scripture to sway or to influence Christians to believe in the doctrine of the Trinity, now that Christians can read the Bible for THEMSELVES after the first Bible was translated into English, then I am sure that there are more verses that have ALSO been “tampered” with as well.

Take for one example, 1 Timothy 3:16, the famous “God” was manifest in the flesh. The King James translation says “God” was manifest in the flesh. And the Modern translations that are translated from older manuscripts say “He” was manifest in the flesh. And the pronoun “he” refers to the promise prophesied “MESSIAH” was manifest in the flesh.

Let us read 1 Timothy 3:16 for the King James Version first and then we will read several modern translations from the old Greek manuscripts so you can see no matter which manuscripts are used they can STILL be “TRANSLATED” as being BIAS toward whatever a Christian is predisposed to believe.

TRINITY AND ONENESS BIAS

1 Timothy 3:16 from the King James Version.

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”

SOMEWHAT ONENESS BIAS

1 Timothy 3:16 from the Message Bible.

“This Christian life is a great mystery, far exceeding our understanding, but some things are clear enough: He appeared in a human body, was proved right by the invisible Spirit, was seen by angels. He was proclaimed among all kinds of peoples, believed in all over the world, taken up into heavenly glory.”

1 Timothy 3:16  New Century Version.

“Without doubt, the secret of our life of worship is great: He was shown to us in a human body, proved right in spirit, and seen by angels. He was preached to those who are not Jews, believed in by the world, and taken up in glory.”

OLDER MANUSCRIPTS-BIBLICAL UNITARIAN

1 Timothy 3:16 (WYC) The Wycliffe Bible

“And openly it is a great sacrament of piety, that thing that was showed in flesh, it is justified in Spirit [And openly it is a great sacrament of piety, that that is showed in flesh, is justified in Spirit], it appeared to angels, it is preached to heathen men, it is believed in the world, it is taken up into glory.”

1 Timothy 3:16 (WNT) Weymouth New Testament.

“And, beyond controversy, great is the mystery of our religion-- that Christ appeared in human form, and His claims justified by the Spirit, was seen by angels and proclaimed among Gentile nations, was believed on in the world, and received up again into glory.”

1 Timothy 3:16 (NLT) New Living Translation.

“Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.”

1 Timothy 3:16 (ASV) American Standard Version.

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness; He who was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the spirit, Seen of angels, Preached among the nations, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.”

1 Timothy 3:16 (CEB) Common English Bible.

“Without question, the mystery of godliness is great: he was revealed as a human, declared righteous by the Spirit, seen by angels, preached throughout the nations, believed in around the world, and taken up in glory.”

1 Timothy 3:16 (CJB) Complete Jewish Bible.

“Great beyond all question is the formerly hidden truth underlying our faith: He was manifested physically and proved righteous spiritually, seen by angels and proclaimed among the nations, trusted throughout the world and raised up in glory to heaven.”

CANNOT ALWAYS TRUST ANY ONE-SINGLE TRANSLATION

1 Timothy 3:16 New International Revised Standard.

“There is no doubt that godliness is a great mystery. Jesus appeared in a body. The Holy Spirit proved that he was the Son of God. He was seen by angels. He was preached among the nations. People in the world believed in him. He was taken up to heaven in glory.”

NEUTRAL AND HONEST

1 Timothy 3:16  Douay Rheims Catholic Bible.

“And evidently great is the mystery of godliness, which was manifested in the flesh, was justified in the spirit, appeared unto angels, hath been preached unto the Gentiles, is believed in the world, is taken up in glory.”

My main point in this study is that no SINGLE Bible “translation” is a “perfect” translation without ANY “bias” in the translations. And that is why we need to COMPARE the many different “translation” when studying the “controversial” verses of Scripture like 1 Timothy 3:16 and John 1:1. Both John 1:1 and 1 Timothy 3:16 do NOT have the definite article “THE” with the Greek word “theos” in the King James Bible. And, therefore, both John 1:1 and 1 Timothy could be translated as [A] God because that is what will be FULFILLED in the world to come as the END of prophecy that was DECLARED from the BEGINNING.

My own translation of John 1:1.

“In the beginning was the SAYING and the SAYING was TOWARD God (As in, the direction toward coming to be joining with God to be seated at God’s right hand in the future) and [A] God was the SAYING [PROPHECY].”

My own translation of 1 Timothy 3:16.

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: [A] God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”

Why would Almighty God Yahweh the creator need to be SEEN by the ANGELS? The Bible is about MORE than the plan of salvation. The Bible is ALSO about JUDGING Satan and the fallen ANGELS. And Yahweh, the “Godhead” in ONE PERSON will judge the world, Satan, and the fallen angels BY the MAN Jesus, the Christ. And as his reward for enduring the cross, Yahweh highly exalted the Son of MAN, Jesus, to JOIN Yahweh on Yahweh's throne to rule AS God FOR Yahweh in Yahweh’s NAME to REPLACE Lucifer will he is BOUND for 1000 years to prove to the angel that the WAR waged by Lucifer and the fallen angel was not Yahweh’s fault.

And AFTER Lucifer is JUDGED and destroyed in the lake of fire along with the fallen angels and all the wicked humans, Then Yahweh will create a new heaven and a new earth where ONLY righteousness will dwell and there will be NO MORE war or evil of any kind for all eternity future. Jesus will step down from ruling as God over the earth and he will commit the kingdom back into his God and Father’s hands. And Yahweh the Father will be God as he has always been. Jesus was manifest for the purpose of DESTROYING the words of Satan. And when the END of SIN is accomplished then Jesus will NO LONGER be God seated at the right hand of God. We ALL might be gods, as in, “overseers” over different parts of Yahweh’s creation but that is only “speculation”

Some Christians might say that what I teach is a “load of CRAP” and they might remain King James ONLY Christians because they have been “INDOCTRINATED” to believe that Jesus is the CREATOR. And, therefore, Jesus MUST have had his “BEGINNING” in the eternity past. And one of the main passages of Scripture that they use is Colossian 1:15-17 OUT of its CONTEXT. So in the next section of this study, we will take a CLOSER look at Colossians 1:15-17 left IN it CONTEXT.

SECTION TWO

A CLOSER LOOK AT COLOSSIANS 1:15

First, we will look at some of the meanings of the Greek words in Colossians 1:15. And then we will use those meanings of the Greek words so that we can see OTHER ways to translated and interpret the CONTEXT of verse 15-17 in the LIGHT of the WHOLE CONTEXT of Colossians 1:12-23 at the end of this study.

Colossians 1:15 with Strong’s numbers color-coded.

“Who G3739 is G2076 the image G1504 of the G3588 invisible G517 (Also translated as UNSEEN) God, G2316 the firstborn G4416 of every G3956 creature: G2937

Now let us look at a couple of verses of Scripture to see HOW the Greek word translated as “CREATURE” in the King James Version in Colossians 1:15 is used elsewhere in the Scriptures.

Galatians 6:15.

“For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision avails anything, nor uncircumcision,G203 but a new creature. G2937

So then, WE who BELIEVE are NEW CREATURES created by the Father IN Jesus Christ by Yahweh. And Jesus is the FIRSTBORN of EVERY creature to be made in the IMAGE of God. And now, WE who BELIEVE are being conformed into the IMAGE of Jesus.

Therefore, Colossians 1:15 does NOT dogmatically DEMAND that Jesus was brought into existence in the ETERNITY PAST as the Jehovah’s Witnesses and other Unitarian Christians such as the Christadelphians INTERPRET verse 15 to mean. In other words. JUST because of Colossians 1:16,17 SEEMS to be saying that Jesus is the creator of all THINGS does NOT mean that Jesus is the creator of the entire universe in the eternity past.

For you see,  the word “THINGS” is NOT in the original Greek text. NOR is the MEANING of all “THINGS” in the Greek word “pas” G3956. We will cover verses 16,17 along with the rest of their context in a moment. Every Christian knows and understands that if it was not for Jesus there would be NO NEW creature CREATED IN Jesus. No New creature was made without him that was made. And in him was life. John 1:1-3 being understood as the ALL of whosoever believes being made as opposed to the entire universe being made.

2 Corinthians 5:17.

“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: G2937 old things are passed away; behold, all things G3956 (The word “things” is NOT in the original text. Nor is the word “things” in the MEANING of the Greek word “pas” which is the SAME Greek word that is translated as “...FIRSTBORN of EVERY CREATURE” in Colossians 1:15. The LITERAL translation reads ALL) are become new.”

The Greek word “pas G3956” is the SAME Greek word translated as WHOSOEVER believes in John 3:16 and the SAME Greek word translated as “...FIRSTBORN of EVERY CREATURE” in Colossians 1:15. And Jesus is the FIRSTFRUITS of God, according to 1 Corinthians 15:20-28. Jesus is also the FORERUNNER who is gone BEFORE or ahead of us, according to Hebrews 6:20. Jesus is the Captain of our salvation. Jesus is the FIRSTFRUITS.

John 3:16.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER G3956 believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The word whosoever is referring to the ALL os whosoever BELIEVES. But yet the translators of the King James Bible ADDED the English word “THINGS” when the CONTEXT is clearly speaking about God’s NEW creation of BELIEVERS in Jesus Christ the FIRSTBORN from the DEAD of EVERY creature to be made in the IMAGE of God. And now WE who BELIEVE are being conformed in the IMAGE of Jesus the FIRSTBORN among MANY BRETHREN.

Please read Romans 8:29.

“For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the IMAGE of His Son, that he might be the FIRSTBORN among MANY BRETHREN.”

And we know that the “BRETHREN” here in this verse is speaking of THE ALL of WHOSOEVER believes of EVERY NEW CREATURE of which Jesus is the FIRSTBORN of EVERY CREATURE to be made in the IMAGE of God. And Now WE are being conformed into the IMAGE of Jesus to FULFILL the PROPHECY of Genesis 1:26 where Yahweh said to His future Messiah “Let us make man in OUR own IMAGE and after OUR LIKENESS.” And then in Genesis 1:27, Yahweh ALONE and by Himself created man in His OWN IMAGE.

Genesis 1:27.

“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.”

Then man FELL and needed a Savior. I do not believe that Yahweh ordained man to sin but rather God knew His ENEMY Satan would tempt and deceive man to sin. So then, Almighty God Yahweh the Father created the entire universe ALONE and BY Himself in eternity past, according to Isaiah 44:24.

Isaiah 44:24.

“Thus says the LORD, Your redeemer, and He that formed you from the womb, I am the LORD that makes all things; that stretches forth the heavens ALONE; that spreads abroad the earth BY MYSELF;”

And then Almighty God the Father THROUGH His Son Jesus TOGETHER created the ALL of WHOSOEVER believes to be God NEW CREATURES created IN Jesus Christ who was the FIRSTBORN from the DEAD, according to the very CONTEXT of Colossians 1:15, the verse in question to learn WHEN Jesus was the FIRSTBORN of EVERY CREATURE. Please read Colossians 1:18-23 and then we will read verses 17 and 18 which some Christians “INTERPRET” as Jesus being the creator of the entire universe.

Colossians 1:18-23.

And he (The FIRSTBORN G4416 of EVERY G3956 creature of the CHURCH of the FIRSTBORN) is the HEAD of the body, the church: (Speaking of the church of the FIRSTBORN, according to Hebrews 12:23) who is the BEGINNING, the FIRSTBORN from the DEAD; (To become the  FIRSTBORN G4416 of EVERY G3956 creature of the CHURCH of the FIRSTBORN) that in all [things] he (The FIRSTBORN G4416 of EVERY G3956 creature of the CHURCH of the FIRSTBORN) might have the preeminence.

19.  For it (The VICTORY over death by the CROSS) PLEASED the Father that IN him (The FIRSTBORN G4416 of EVERY G3956 creature of the CHURCH of the FIRSTBORN) should all fullness dwell; (This is WHEN the fullness of the Godhead began to DWELL IN Jesus BODILY. It was AFTER Yahweh the Father raised the Son of MAN, Jesus from the DEAD and HIGHLY EXALTED him that all the FULLNESS of DEITY began to be dwelling in Jesus BODILY. It was AFTER the cross and resurrection that Yahweh GAVE Jesus the DIVINE NATURE of IMMORTALITY to be having in himself even as the Father has always possessed immortality in Himself, according to John 5:26,27)

20.  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all [things] (G3956 The ALL of WHOSOEVER believes) unto himself; (The King James has the word “things” in italics in verse 19 to let the reader know that it was ADDED by the translators which to ME, makes me wonder WHY they did NOT put the word “things” in italics here in verse 20 and in many other places where the CONTEXT is CLEARLY talking about the NEW creatures created IN Jesus Christ. Is there some “deliberate” misleading going on in the King James Version seeing the Johannine Comma controversy in 1 John 5:7 of the Trinity formula being added and the added Trinity baptismal formula in Matthew 28:18? You decide for yourself. To ME the word “things’ should NOT have been added because it is NOT in the original text. It should read “...by him to reconcile the ALL unto himself”) by him, I say, whether they be things (The ALL of WHOSOEVER believes. This Greek word means THE, as in, THE ONES) in earth or things  (The ALL of WHOSOEVER believes, This Greek word means THE, as in, THE ONES) in heaven.

21.  And you, (A WHOSOEVER who BELIEVES) that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now has he reconciled

22.  In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

23.  If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every (G3956) creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;”

Now let us read Colossians 1:16,17 which is used by both Trinitarian Christians and Unitarian Christians like the Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Christadelphians to try and prove that Jesus is the CREATOR of everything that exists and therefore, to THEN, Jesus must have PRE-EXISTED in the eternity past in order to be the “creator” of the entire universe.

But as you have just seen, the CONTEXT is speaking about CHRISTIANS being the CREATION and NOT the creation of the entire universe in eternity past.

Please read Colossians 1:12-23.

Colossians 1:18-23.

“Giving thanks unto the Father, which has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: (So this whole CONTEXT is about the NEW CREATION of new CREATURE being CREATED IN Jesus Christ)

13.  Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son

14.  IN whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

15.  Who is the IMAGE of the invisible God, the FIRSTBORN of EVERY (G4956)  CREATURE

16.  For by him (Or “instrumentally” by him) were ALL things (G4956 Speaking of the ALL of  WHOSOEVER BELIEVES to be CREATED IN Jesus Christ were) created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, (The believers that are seen on the earth and the unseen believer in heaven) whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: (Speaking of Jesus being given the authority to delegate positions of rulership in the throne that he has been given by Yahweh the Father. He who is faithful in much will be given much authority in the world yet to come, the Millennial reign of Jesus) all things (G4956 Speaking of the ALL of WHOSOEVER BELIEVES to be CREATED IN Jesus Christ were) were created by him, and for him:

17.  And he is before (Or Jesus will be OVER and ABOVE) all things (G4956 Speaking of the ALL of WHOSOEVER BELIEVES to be CREATED IN Jesus Christ were), and by him, all things (G4956 Speaking of the ALL of WHOSOEVER BELIEVES to be CREATED IN Jesus Christ were) consist. (Or by Jesus “instrumentally” as our helper through the Holy Spirit, the ALL who believe are made to STAND, as in, standfast to endure unto the end. Or to STAND, as in, to be resurrected. Or both meanings. Verses 16 and 17 have nothing whatsoever to do with Jesus being the creator of everything that exists. Verse 15 clearly speaks of Jesus as being a CREATURE which is a created being. And the rest of the CONTEXT is about Jesus being the firstborn from the DEAD to be made the HEAD of the church of the FIRSTBORN among many BRETHREN)

20.  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile ALL [things] (G3956 The ALL of WHOSOEVER believes) unto himself; (The King James has the word “things” in italics in verse 18 to let the reader know that it was ADDED by the translators which to ME, makes me wonder WHY they did NOT put the word “things” in italics here in verse 20 and in many other places where the CONTEXT is CLEARLY talking about the NEW creatures created IN Jesus Christ. Is there some “deliberate” misleading going on in the King James Version seeing the Johannine Comma controversy in 1 John 5:7 of the Trinity formula being added and the added Trinity baptismal formula in Matthew 28:18? You decide for yourself. To ME, the word “things’ should NOT have been added at all even in italics because it is NOT in the original text. It should read “...by him to reconcile the ALL unto himself”) by him, I say, whether they be things (The ALL of WHOSOEVER believes. This Greek word means THE, as in, THE ONES) in the earth or things  (The ALL of WHOSOEVER believes, This Greek word means THE, as in, THE ONES) in heaven.

Now, this “MISLEADING” added word “THINGS” is found in several verses of Scripture. Some of which, SWAY or INFLUENCE Christians to WRONGLY believe that Jesus himself is the creator of the entire universe. But in truth, Jesus is the REASON for the NEW CREATION of the ALL of WHOSOEVER believes in every one of those verses the SEEM to be saying that Jesus is the creator of every THING that exists.

So then, was the King James translation “deliberately” tamper with to “deliberately” sway Christians to believe the doctrine of the Trinity and a pre-existing “God the Son” in the eternity past? Again, this must be your own decision between you and God. I am only sharing the EVIDENCE for you to WEIGH in your own heart and mind. Below are some of the verses with the ADDED word “THINGS” that is not in the original Greek text. I will not go into explaining all those verses in this study. Some of the verses do explain in detail in other studies. Please read the studies under the heading >>>IS JESUS THE CREATOR?<<<

Verses that SEEM to be saying Jesus is the creator!

Simply replace the words “all things” with the phrase “the ALL of WHOSOEVER BELIEVES”.

1Co_8:6  But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Eph_1:10  That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

Eph_1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Eph_1:22  And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Eph_3:9  And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Heb_1:2  Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Heb_1:3  Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Heb_2:10  For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Heb_3:4  For every house is built by some man; but he that built all things is God.

Heb_4:13  Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Rev_4:11  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Joh_1:3  All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.

Here is the LITERAL translation of John 1:1-3.

“In [A] beginning was the SAYING and the SAYING was TOWARD THE God, and [A] God was the SAYING.

2. THIS was in [A] beginning TOWARD THE God.

3. ALL through SAME became and APART form SAME became not yet ONE which has BECOME.”

In other words, not yet ONE of the ALL of WHOSOEVER believes came to be saved APART from the SAYING that was MADE FLESH and dwelt among men. I say [A] beginning because the LITERAL translation of Genesis 1:1,2 says that the earth BECAME void and empty during the WAR after the earth’s original creation in eternity past. So the earth is much older than the human race that was only created around 6,000 years ago to REPLENISH the earth. The last Adam came into existence to JUDGE and END evil.
