U-32. Hebrews 1:10-12 Does it prove Jesus is YAHWEH?

A CLOSER LOOK AT

HEBREWS 1:10-12

This is one of the passages of Scripture that is used by both Oneness and Trinitarian Christians who teach that Jesus IS FULLY Almighty God Himself in the flesh and yet fully a man at the same time having two natures, one divine, and one human. They INTERPRET Hebrews 1:10-12 as referring to the Son. And thus they wrongly conclude that these verses teach us that  Jesus himself is the CREATOR or the entire Universe. In other words, they interpret Hebrew 1:10-12 to mean that Jesus, the Son of Yahweh, is Yahweh Himself in the flesh having TWO natures at the SAME time during the days of his FLESH.

But is that a correct sound Biblical interpretation? Does Hebrews 1:10-12 PROVE that Jesus is Almighty God Himself? Let us take a CLOSER look to learn the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.

Hebrews 1:10-12.

“And, You, Lord, in the beginning, have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of your hands:

11. They shall perish, but you remain, and they all shall wax old as does a garment;

12. And as a vesture shall you fold them up, and they shall be changed: but you are the same, and your years shall not fail.”

Now, just simply reading these three verses by themselves alone and apart from the rest of God's word does not prove that these verses are referring to Jesus HIMSELF as being the creator of the heavens and the earth. For you see, in truth, we do not know for sure to WHOM these three verses are truly referring when they are viewed ALONE and by themselves.

But obviously, those of you who know the Old Testament would say without a doubt that these three verses refer to Almighty God YAHWEH as being the one who created the heavens and the earth.

Now, if you do not know the Old Testament that well and you have a good “reference” Bible, then you will find that the writer of Hebrews is quoting a verse from the Old Testament. He quoted Psalm 102:25, which is a prayer being prayed TO Yahweh by the Psalmist. If you are not familiar with a reference Bible, then it is a study Bible that has little letters by certain words and in a column. That column is either to the side or center. And in that column you will see those letters giving you “references” to other similar verses to study and compare with the verse you are reading. I myself have a King James center column reference Bible and only one verse is given to compare Scripture with Scripture.

Please read Psalm 102:1,24-27 where verses 1 and verse 24 teach us that this is a prayer TO Yahweh and verses 25-27 is the actual quote written in Hebrews 1:10-12 that we are studying.

Psalm 102:1,24-27.

“A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed and pours out his complaint before the LORD. Hear my prayer, O LORD, (Or hear O YAHWEH) and let my cry come unto You.... (For those of you who may not be aware, the King James Bible replaces the English word “LORD” that is in all capital letters for the Hebrew four-letter tetragrammaton written in English letters as YHWH. These four letters have no vowels, but most Bible scholars agree that God’s NAME should be written as Yahweh in the English language. In other words, Yahweh is the NAME of the ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God, who ALONE is the Father. I believe this Psalm to be a PROPHECY of a prayer that Jesus prayed to God in the Garden of Gethsemane right before his being crucified for the sins of the world. Here is a commentary I found if you want to read the whole thing.

“Psalm 102:24I do not presume to say as much, but I would ask, is not this verse the prayer of Christ, as the Christ of God? Taking it in connection with what went before, God the Father is represented as beholding the sin and misery of the church. He adds, in this view, that his name shall be declared in Zion; and he will loose those appointed unto death. To these blessed declarations the answer is, that the church's great Head, in the days of his flesh is afflicted, yea, his strength is weakened, as had been said before, Psalms 102:3; Psa_102:11: Destroy not then (saith the humble petitioner), neither take me away in the midst of my years. Similar to that passage, Isaiah 65:8.”)

...24. I said, O my God, (The Hebrew word used here for God is “EL” which also refers to Yahweh as being the Almighty God. And it refers back to verse 1 as the God being prayed TO in this Psalm. And thus, we need to do the SAME comparison in Hebrews 1:1 where God SPOKE in the Old Testament time by His prophets. BUT in these last days God SPOKE by way of His SON. In other words, this person, whom I personally believe is a prophecy of Jesus, who is praying this is praying it in the first person TO Yahweh saying) take me not away in the midst of my days: Your years are throughout all generations. (Jesus was just about to turn 30 years old at his baptism and his ministry was another 3 1/2 years so Jesus was crucified around 33 1/2 years old which would be in the middle years of the years of man. So how could Jesus BE Yahweh Himself in the following verses of Scripture seeing that Jesus is praying to Yahweh? According to other commentaries, the Jews compared their short life to God’s eternal life as a way for God to answer their prayer for God to extend their life)

25.  Of old have YOU (Yahweh) laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of YOUR (Yahweh's) hands.

26.  They shall perish, but YOU (Yahweh) shall endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shall YOU (Yahweh) change them, and they shall be changed:

27.  But YOU (Yahweh) are the same, and YOUR (Yahweh's) years shall have no end.”

So then, to me, there is no doubt that Hebrews 1:10-12 is referring to Yahweh as being the creator ALONE. But for those of you who may not agree please read Isaiah 44:24 which clearly teaches us the Almighty God Yahweh created all things ALONE and BY HIMSELF. The Old Testament teaches us that there is ONE God in ONE person who is the God OF gods whom He Himself appointed to be Gods or mighty ones under Himself.

Isaiah 44:24.

“Thus says the LORD, (Yahweh) your redeemer, and He that formed you from the womb, I am the LORD (Yahweh) that make ALL things; that stretches forth the heavens ALONE; that spreads abroad the earth by MYSELF;”

So then, by reading the Old Testament we know without a doubt the Almighty God Yahweh, the one who formed Jesus in the womb, is the CREATOR ALONE by HIMSELF. Therefore, I myself must conclude that in just reading these three verses in Hebrews along with the UNDERSTANDING of the verses of Scripture in the Old Testament clearly showing Yahweh as being the creator alone and by himself. And thus, Hebrews 1:10-12 are, indeed, referring to Almighty God the Father as being the creator in these verses as well since the writer of Hebrew is QUOTING the Old Testament. And it is my prayer that all Christians would agree that Yahweh, Almighty God the Father is the creator of ALL things and NOT His Son Jesus as being the creator.

But WHY does it SEEM as IF Hebrews 1:10-12 is referring to the SON?

The short answer is the MISTRANSLATION of ONE word, the Hebrew word “kia”, which is translated as the English word “AND”. This Hebrew word “kia” ALSO means “YET”.

Here is how the concordance in E-Sword defines the Hebrew word “kia”. The emphasis is mine.

G2532

καί

kai

kahee

Apparently a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so, then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words: - and, also, both, but, even, for, if, indeed, likewise, moreover, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yea, YET.

Total KJV occurrences: 9264.

When you understand that Hebrews 1:1-14 is talking about three entities, the Father, the Son, and the angels, then you can see that God did NOT choose any of the angels to inherit the worlds to come. But rather, God chose the Son of MAN, Jesus to inherit the worlds to come.

Let us go ahead and read Hebrews 1:10-12 with the word “YET” instead of the word “and” so you can see that these verses are referring to the FATHER and NOT the Son. Again, the emphasis is mine.

Here is Hebrews 1:10-12 with the word “YET”.

YET, You, Lord, in the beginning, have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of Your hands:

11. They shall perish, but You remain, and they all shall wax old as does a garment;

12. And as a vesture shall You fold them up, and they shall be changed: but You are the same, and Your years shall not fail.”

This interpretation AGREES with Hebrews 2:5-12 which we will cover in the more IN-DEPTH study below. Plain and simple, God is doing the WORK, the Son of MAN is inheriting the subjection over the world to come, the work of Yahweh’s hands, and the angels are watching what the Father is doing.

SECTION TWO

In section two we will see WHY the interpretation of the Oneness Pentecostal Christians and the interpretation of the Trinitarian Christians CONTRADICT other verses of Scripture in the Bible.

Now, I am fully aware that some Oneness and Trinitarian Christians still argue that Hebrews 1:10-12 is the Father speaking TO His SON Jesus calling Jesus the creator. In other words, that is how both Oneness and Trinitarian Christians INTERPRET Hebrews 1:10-12 to mean.

And I do agree that when these three verses are read along with just a FEW verses that precede them then it does SEEM AS IF the writer of Hebrews is saying that Jesus is being spoken to, by his Father saying TO His Son, Jesus what is written in these three verses as being the works of His Son. Let us go ahead and read Hebrews 1:8-12 which is only PART of the context. After we read the whole context, you will clearly see that the writer of Hebrews is NOT saying that Jesus is the creator. What I am showing is HOW verses taken OUT of their context can seem to be saying something that they are NOT TRULY saying when the WHOLE context is truly considered.

Hebrews 1:8-12.

“But unto the Son HE says, (Or unto His yet future Son in PROPHECY, Almighty God the Father says) Your throne, O God, is forever and ever: (Or more correctly, your throne is from and age to and age) a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom.

9. YOU have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore, God, even your God, has anointed YOU with the oil of gladness above YOUR fellows.

10. AND YOU, Lord, (Or more correctly, YET You Yahweh) in the beginning, have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of YOUR hands:

11. They shall perish, but YOU remain, and they all shall wax old as does a garment.

12. And as a vesture shall YOU fold them up, and they shall be changed: but YOU are the same, and YOUR years shall not fail.”

Now, when simply casually reading Hebrews 1:8-11 with the Greek word “kia” mistranslated as “And”, then verse 10 SEEMS as if Almighty God the Father is still speaking DIRECTLY TO His Son Jesus in verses 10-12. WHY do I say SEEMS as IF, rather than saying, it is made perfectly clear to us that Almighty God the Father is speaking DIRECTLY TO His Son Jesus?

I say that it SEEMS as IF because while the writer of Hebrews is quoting Psalm 45:6,7 and also Psalm 61:1 in verses 8,9, the writer then switches to quote from Psalm 102:25 and Isaiah 34:4 in verses 10-12. In other words, the writer of Hebrews is NOT quoting these Old Testament verses WORD for WORD and this leads the casual reader to ASSUME that Almighty God the Father is still yet speaking DIRECTLY to His Son Jesus in Hebrews 1:10-12 as well. When the writer of Hebrews ADDS the words “AND YOU Lord” when he just finished quoting two other Old Testament verses in Hebrews 1:8.9 that do indeed refer to PROPHECIES of the yet coming Jesus, then that shows us that he is changing subjects.

Let me explain what I mean by this. When we take a closer look at Psalm 45:6,7 then you will be able to clearly see that the writer of Hebrews did NOT QUOTE Psalm 45:6,7 WORD for WORD. But rather, he ADDED some words to show that he is changing subjects as to who each quoted verse is referring to. We have THREE different entities that are being spoken of in Hebrews chapter 1. There is Almighty God Yahweh the Father, the angels, and the Son of Almighty God the Father.

Psalm 45:6,7.

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever: the scepter of your kingdom is a right scepter. (This is a PROPHECY of Jesus that was fulfilled AFTER the cross and resurrection. So I will highlight the words referring to Jesus after the cross in light blue. And I will highlight the words referring to the Son of MAN, Jesus, during the days of his FLESH in yellow. And all the words in orange refer to Yahweh the God and Father OF Jesus)

6. You love righteousness, and hate wickedness: THEREFORE, (Or for the very reason that you love righteousness and hate wickedness) God, your God, has ANOINTED you with the oil of gladness ABOVE your fellows.”

Please notice that the words, “But unto the SON HE says” are NOT in the Old Testament Scriptures. Those words were ADDED by the writer of Hebrews to show that he is changing subjects, and is NOT talking about the ANGELS as he was in Hebrews 1:3-7.

So what is my point? Please understand that I am not trying to split hairs here to cause confusion by just rambling on. I do have a point and I do indeed agree with the writer of Hebrews INTERPRETATION of Psalm 45:6,7 being attributed as a PROPHECY referring TO Jesus where Yahweh the Father is speaking TO His SON Jesus through His written word, the Old Testament Scriptures. To this truth, there is no doubt. Therefore, adding the phrase, “But unto the SON he says” does NOT in any way change the prophecy of Psalm 45:6,7 being FULFILLED in Jesus as being the Son of God whom his God and Father ANOINTED or appointed to be above his FELLOWS.

Now, the phrase “But unto the SON HE says” is easily seen as being ADDED by the writer of Hebrews. But the words “AND YOU Lord” are not as easy to see that they were ADDED by the writer of Hebrews unless you are looking for it. Let us read Psalm 102:25-27 again without verses 1 and 24 because they are not part of the quote that the writer of Hebrews is quoting.

Psalm 102:25-27.

“Of old have YOU (Yahweh) laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of YOUR (Yahweh's) hands.

Now let us read Hebrews 1:1-12 again so you can see that the words “AND YOU Lord” were ADDED by the writer of Hebrew to show that he is changing the subject as to who he is referring to.

Hebrews 1:10-12.

AND YOU, Lord, in the beginning, have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of YOUR hands:

11. They shall perish, but YOU remain, and they all shall wax old as does a garment.

12. And as a vesture shall YOU fold them up, and they shall be changed: but YOU are the same, and YOUR years shall not fail.”

Now, let us take a closer look at the Greek word “translated” and “AND” in verse 10. Here is how the concordance in E-Sword defines this Greek word. The emphasis is mine.

G2532

καί

kai

kahee

Apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so, then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words: - and, also, both, but, even, for, if, indeed, likewise, moreover, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yea, YET.

A cumulative force of a conjunction such as and means something ADDED to the previous statement. And what is added does not have to mean in addition to the previous statement. For example, Mark wrote this study AND YOU are reading this study. The conjunction “AND” YOU does NOT mean that you are ME reading this study. So let us use the meaning of the Hebrew word “kia” that ALSO means YET in place of the “translated” word “AND”.  And then we will read Hebrews 1:8-12 again so you can clearly see that the writer of Hebrews never intended his words to be wrongly interpreted to mean that Jesus is Yahweh Himself. And thus, wrongly conclude that Jesus is the creator.

Hebrews 1:8-12.

“But unto the Son HE says, (Or unto His yet future Son in PROPHECY, Almighty God the Father says) Your throne, O God, is forever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom.

9. YOU have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; THEREFORE, (Or for this very reason that you loved righteousness and hated iniquity) God, even your God, has ANOINTED YOU with the oil of gladness ABOVE YOUR fellows. (Now IF the Son of God was indeed Yahweh Himself in the flesh as some Christians claim, then the Son would have ALREADY been ABOVE every human and every angel. Those Christians fail to COMPARE Scripture with Scripture to learn the TRUTH. There motive is to TRY to  their own preconceived belief that Jesus is Yahweh Himself. But the TRUTH is that Yahweh ANOINTED His Son to be MADE both Lord and Christ AFTER the cross and resurrection, according to Acts 2:36 and many other verses of Scripture. Notice how the writer CHANGES from talking about God ANOINTING His Son to talking about Yahweh who not only ANOINTED the Son of MAN, Jesus, but ALSO laid the foundation of the earth)

10. YET YOU, Lord, in the beginning, have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of YOUR hands:

11. They shall perish, but YOU remain, and they all shall wax old as does a garment.

12. And as a vesture shall YOU fold them up, and they shall be changed: but YOU are the same, and YOUR years shall not fail.”

Can you not see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, that Yahweh, the Father is the GOD OF Jesus who ANOINTED His Son to be above his FELLOWS? And we are his FELLOWS. Jesus is our brother. So how can the Son who is under and subject to HIS God and Father BE Yahweh Himself? That makes no sense whatsoever. But when you truly see that Jesus is a SEPARATE distinctly different person from the Father who ALONE is Yahweh the creator, then you can clearly see that the writer of Hebrews is simply changing subjects by ADDING the conjunction “kai” in the Greek which also means YET to show that he is changing the subject of WHO he is referring to in verses 10-12.

If you take a closer look at the whole chapter you can clearly see that the writer of Hebrews is COMPARING the ANGELS with the SON OF Yahweh the Father, who are three separate entities.  The angels are NOT Yahweh the Father, and the Son is NOT an angel or the Father. As you read Hebrews and the entire Bible KEEP these three separate entities SEPARATE. Do NOT try to make the Son be an ANGEL like the Jehovah’s Witnesses wrongly claim. And do NOT try to make the Son be the Creator of everything that exists. That glory belongs only to the FATHER. And Jesus is NOT that Father like some Christians CLAIM.

Please read Hebrews 1:1-14.

God (Speaking of Yahweh, Almighty God, the FATHER) who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, (Meaning that in times past, Almighty God spoke to His people the Jews or the children of Israel under the Old Testament covenant ONLY BY His prophets. But NOW, under the New Covenant, the Lord God Yahweh)

2. Has in these last days spoken unto us by His SON, whom HE (Almighty God the Father) has appointed HEIR of ALL things, (Now, IF SO BE that the Trinitarian and Oneness Pentecostal INTERPRETATION of Hebrews 1:10 that Jesus IS ALMIGHTY God YAHWEH Himself is the true INTENDED meaning of the writer of Hebrews, then WHY would the writer of Hebrews ALSO say that is was Almighty God, who APPOINTED His Son Jesus to become the HEIR of ALL things? THINK this through for yourself my dear brothers and sister in our Lord Jesus Christ. IF SO BE that Jesus is truly Almighty God Himself then he would ALREADY OWN all things being the creator of ALL things! Thus, there would be no need for Almighty God the Father, the God OF Jesus, to GIVE His Son Jesus ANYTHING whatsoever. Let us stay with what the word of truth is saying which is that God APPOINTED his SON to be the HEIR of ALL things) BY whom also HE (Speaking of Almighty God the Father) made the worlds; (Now, again, Trinitarian Christians INTERPRET this verse as JESUS himself creating the worlds because the Greek word here in the original text was TRANSLATED as the English word “BY” whom. But you see dear children of God, the English word BY is translated from the Greek word “di”, which is a contraction of the Greek word “dia” that can mean “by” and “through” but ALSO means “FOR, as in, FOR the SAKE of God’s yet future Son to INHERIT as his reward for obeying all the Will of his God and Father. And seeing that the CONTEXT says that Jesus was APPOINTED to INHERIT all things, then to ME, the translators are either BIAS or they missed the CONTEXT when they translated this Greek word as BY when it is obvious by the context that Jesus will INHERIT the worlds which were APPOINTED FOR him to inherit. So then, one interpretation can be “FOR whom Almighty God the Father made the EON;” The Greek word that is TRANSLATED as “worlds” is the Greek word “aion” meaning an AGE, perpetuity, or perpetual, and eternal. And by implication, the worlds are referring to the worlds to COME and NOT the original creation. Also, the LITERAL translation of the Greek word that is “translated” as MADE in the past tense is “he MAKES”, showing a FUTURE tense of Almighty God MAKING or SHALL make FOR His Son Jesus and his fellow HEIRS of the world to COME. Please see the study P-4. Ephesians 3:9-11 Did Jesus Create all Things? In fact, please read all the studies under the heading >>>P-0. Is JESUS the CREATOR?<<< So then, God made the world yet to come FOR His now highly exalted Son)

3. Who (Speaking of the now glorified Jesus AFTER the cross, the SON OF Almighty God the Father) being the brightness of HIS glory, (Or the glory of his God and Father, the ALMIGHTY Yahweh) and the express IMAGE OF HIS person, (Again, WHY would the writer of Hebrew stress that Jesus came into being in the IMAGE OF the person of Almighty God the Father IF SO BE that the INTENTION of the writer of Hebrews was to PROVE beyond any shadow of a doubt that Jesus IS Almighty God Yahweh Himself? Also, the LITERAL translation of the Greek word that is TRANSLATED as “person” is UNDERSTANDING. In other words, Jesus was the EXPRESSED IMAGE of the TRUE UNDERSTANDING of the Father and NOT the image of the “divine nature” of Almighty God. Jesus came to SHOW us the Father by the WORKS men saw Jesus do, which were actually being done by the Father DWELLING IN his SON Jesus) and upholding all things by the word of His power, when he had by (Or THROUGH) himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (The LITERAL translation of this verse is “Who being FROM radiance of the glory and the image of the understanding of Him carrying on besides the all to the declaration of the ability of Him THROUGH himself making the cleansing of us from sin is seated at the right hand of the great togetherness, or Majesty on high or in heights.” Check it out for yourself. Here is the link to one of the websites that I use to find the LITERAL meanings of verses in question where the differing INTERPRETATIONS of verses of Scripture have caused CONTRADICTIONS to the rest of God's word. Also, the word “THINGS” is not in the original text. The ALL means us as the NEW creation of God that Jesus supports, upholds, carries, or bears the all by the power of Yahweh's word WHEN Jesus purged, BORE, or CARRIED our sins by dying on the cross. And after the cross is when Jesus was gloried with the glory OF his God and Father and then highly exalted to sit down by the right hand of Almighty God Yahweh in heaven. Verse 3 has nothing to do with Jesus upholding the entire universe by the power of his own word. It was Jesus alone by himself who BORE our sins and NOT that we bear our own sins. The word “WHEN” here in this verse, is when Jesus upheld the ALL or carried the ALL by the power of Yahweh's word as being WHEN Jesus purged our SINS. And after that Jesus was GIVEN the divine nature of immortality to BECOME “a” God under his God and Father to rule for Yahweh while He rests on the seventh 1000 year long day of the LORD where his Lord and King reigns FOR him during this yet future 1000 years)

4. Being MADE so much BETTER than the angels, as he has BY INHERITANCE OBTAINED a more excellent NAME than they. (As I have said many times in other studies I have written on the subject of exposing the ERROR of INTERPRETATION of those teaching the doctrine of the Trinity, everything Jesus is or has, was GIVEN TO him BY his God and Father THE ALMIGHTY. But what I want you to see right now is that the writer of Hebrews INTENTION of chapter 1 is to COMPARE the SON OF God to the ANGELS)

5. For unto (The writer of Hebrew way to let us know that he is changing subjects. For unto) which of the ANGELS said HE (Yahweh the Father) at ANY TIME, You are my Son, THIS DAY have I begotten you? (Speaking of a SPECIFIC point is time that Almighty God BECAME the FATHER of His SON. Thus, showing beyond any shadow of a doubt that Jesus as the SON OF Almighty God did indeed have a BEGINNING. Please read the study O-1. DID JESUS HAVE A BEGINNING? That study will give you many verses of Scripture proving that Jesus did not eternally pre-exist WITH God from all eternity past never having a beginning, The writer of Hebrews quote ANOTHER verse from the Old Testament in 1 Chronicles to further show that the Son was PROPHESIED into existence BY Yahweh) And again, I WILL BE to him a Father, and he SHALL BE to me a Son? (Again, showing that Jesus as the SON OF Almighty God did indeed have a BEGINNING. And also showing that Almighty God was NOT ALWAYS the FATHER OF His SON because Jesus did NOT ALWAYS EXIST as the SON OF God WITH the Father from all the eternity past being co-eternal with the Father as the doctrine of the Trinity falsely teaches. But rather, the SON OF God was brought into existence where he never existed before EXCEPT in the MIND and PLAN of Almighty God to one day at the APPOINTED time to bring forth a human SON into the world by His spoken WORD or SAYING of God whom He would highly exalt to become “a” God under Him. John 1:1 does NOT say that JESUS was with God, but rather, that the “logos”, or the word was with God. Please read the study V-22. John 1:1 THE WORD WAS GOD! for a deeper understanding of the true sound Biblical meaning of John 1:1-14. And for the shorter versions of that study please read all of the studies on John 1:1 under the heading >>>D-0. The BIBLICAL Unitarian VIEW of Jesus<<< )

6. And again, find the verse that is being quoted when He brings in the first begotten into the world, (The Greek word translated as “brings in” also means when Yahweh INTRODUCES His firstborn whom He highly exalted to be His King of kings and Lord of lords to the world at the return of Jesus. The LITERAL translation of this phrase is WHENEVER YET AGAIN He brings the FIRSTBORN into the BEING HOMED meaning the FIRST begotten from the dead being brought BACK into the world to INHERIT and inhabit, speaking of the SECOND coming of Jesus to rule and reign in the world to come) HE (Almighty God the Father) says, And let all the angels of God WORSHIP him. (Again, showing the HIGH EXALTATION of Jesus be CROWNED after the cross as Lord and King OVER the angels or the Elohim translated as gods in Psalm 97:7 which is what the writer of Hebrews is quoting. Please read Psalm 97:7 “Confounded be all those that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all you gods.” Or worship him all of you ANGELS. The angels are also called Elohim which is translated as God, god, and gods. You see, the FIRST estate of Jesus during the days of his FLESH was made at first to be LOWER and inferior to the angels. But AFTER the cross Jesus was CROWNED with glory and honor to become an Elohim ABOVE the Elohim. Know you not that WE shall become Elohim to JUDGE the fallen angels? WHY? Why did Yahweh choose to create humans lower and inferior to the angels? The short answer is BECAUSE of Yahweh’s ENEMIES. Yahweh created MAN and the Son of MAN to STILL His ENEMIES, according to the prophecy in Psalm 8:1-6. Yahweh needed MAN and the Son of MAN to be His WITNESSES. So God created the Son of MAN in the womb of the Virgin Mary. God’s GOAL is for the Son of MAN to live without sin so that God can destroy Satan and the fallen angels in the lake of fire on the final Day of Judgment. Please read the study Q-1. UNDERSTANDING WHY? to find the SOUND BIBLICAL answer of why God even created mankind in the first place. You can also read my newer studies D-23 through D-41 under the heading called  >>>D-0. The BIBLICAL Unitarian VIEW of Jesus<<<

And also, ask yourself why God created a NEW creation LOWER or inferior to His previous creation, the angels? If you do not already know why you are here and why God allows evil in the world, then please read the studies under the heading >>>Q-0. WHY are we HERE?-Is God at WAR?<<< Once you understand that God is at WAR with the fallen angels, the whole Bible begins to make perfect sense)

7. And of the ANGELS He says, (Or YET of the Angels He says. Please notice that ADDED words AND of the ANGELS He says which were added by the writer of Hebrews quoting Psalm to let us know that he is changing subjects as to who he is referring to.) Who makes his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. (Showing that the angels will serve Jesus and his fellow HEIRS with Jesus. Have you ever wondered WHY the ANGELS desire to look into the salvation of human beings who are inferior to them? Please read the study “Why was Jesus SEEN of ANGELS in 1 Timothy 3:16?” when I get it done)

8. But unto the Son HE says, (Here again, the writer of Hebrews ADDS the words “But unto the Son, HE says” to let us know that he is changing subjects as to who he is referring to. You see, IF the writer of Hebrews simply quoted Scripture after Scripture from different places WITHOUT letting us know that he was changing subjects BETWEEN each quoted Scripture, then we would have no idea what he is teaching us. So he added these words here in verse 8 to let us know that the Father is now talking to the Son and Yahweh is no longer talking about the angels. So then, unto His Son Jesus Almighty God the Father says) Your throne, O God, is forever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom. (In other words, the throne of Jesus during the age to come will NOT be like the throne of Lucifer over the earth in the PREVIOUS AGE of the earth. But rather, the throne of Jesus will be a RIGHTEOUS throne that will not even THINK of grasping by force of war to be equal with Yahweh. In other words, this verse is speaking of Almighty God the Father HIGHLY EXALTING His Son Jesus to become an Elohim or “a” God to rule and reign in his Father's NAME on his Father's throne in his Father’s kingdom during the Millennium. Please read 1 Corinthians 15:19-28 which teaches us that Jesus will REIGN in his Father's kingdom for 1000 years and then at the end of this 1000 year reign Jesus will commit the kingdom BACK into his Father's hand)

9. You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; THEREFORE (Or for the very reason that you have loved righteousness and hated iniquity or sin) God, EVEN YOUR GOD, has ANOINTED you with the oil of gladness ABOVE your fellows. (God is the HEAD of Jesus and Jesus is the HEAD of us his church, according to 1 Corinthians 11:3.  Again, the word THEREFORE means FOR this very REASON of having loved righteousness to live without sin by becoming obedient even obedient unto death on the cross to do all your God and Father's will, I even YOUR God has HIGHLY EXALTED you and have GIVEN you a NAME ABOVE every other name. Please read Philippians 2:8-11 which teaches us that it was only AFTER Jesus became OBEDIENT unto death on the cross that his God and Father the Almighty highly exalted His human Son Jesus to be MADE Lord to be seated at His own right hand to rule and reign as a God in his Father's kingdom)

10. And, You, Lord,  (Again, we see the ADDED words by the writer of Hebrews to let us know that he is quoting a DIFFERENT passage of Scripture and that he is CHANGING SUBJECT as to who he is referring to. In other words, the writer of Hebrews is CHANGING from the Father talking TO His Son to the Son praying TO his God and Father at the time of the crucifixion that if there is any other way to accomplish your Will other than cutting off my life in the middle of my life when Your life is eternal then please let me live if there is another way. Nevertheless, not my Will but your Will be done, according to Luke 22:42. Read Psalm verse 24 again which is Jesus praying TO his God saying, O my God or YET You Lord) in the beginning, have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of your hands: (Now, we have already seen that the CONTEXT does NOT teach us that the writer of Hebrews ever INTENDED his quoting Psalm 102:25-27 in the following three verses to mean that Jesus the SON OF Almighty God the Father is the creator of all things. Again, some Christians may still wonder WHY does it SEEM that the phrase “AND YOU Lord” is referring back to the SON in the previous verses 8 and 9? Well, again, the original text uses DIFFERENT Greek words that to the Greek-speaking people mean different things. In the English language, we also use the same word that can mean many different things but we know by the CONTEXT what that word means. I think you will all understand that when I say the word “bow” you do not know what I mean by that word without giving you any CONTEXT because that one word has several meanings. So the only way to know for sure what is meant by a word is by the CONTEXT. And the same is true in Greek. DIFFERENT Greek words are used along with the CONTEXT so that it will be clear what is being intended. In other words, the English word “AND” here in verse 10, is translated from the Greek word “KAI” which is used as a conjunction to introduce a DIFFERENT subject or another COMPARISON between the SON and the ANGELS. To say this another way, the writer of Hebrews is COMPARING the ANGELS to Jesus being highly exalted to become God's SON. And each time the writer of Hebrews INTRODUCES the NEW point he makes in his comparison between the angels and the Son, he uses the Greek word “KAI”. And then within each point, he uses the Greek word “DE” that is translated as BUT or BUT to which of the ANGELS. The writer of Hebrews INTRODUCES the first NEW point in verse 7, after the first six verses glorifying the Son of God as being made in the express image of God. If you need to, please scroll back up and notice the changing back and forth and each time the writer INTRODUCES a NEW point with the Greek word “KAI” that is translated as “AND, and the Greek word “DE” translated as “BUT” below in verse 13. The writer of Hebrew ADDED these words that are NOT a part of the quote of the Scriptures)

11. They shall perish, but you remain, and they all shall wax old as does a garment;

12. And as a vesture shall you fold them up, and they shall be changed: but you are the same, and your years shall not fail.

13. BUT to which of the ANGELS said HE (Speaking of Almighty God the Father) at ANY TIME, Sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool?

14. Are they (STILL YET Speaking of the ANGELS), not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister FOR them who shall be HEIRS of salvation?”

Now, imagine if the writer of Hebrew did NOT add the words, “ BUT to which of the ANGELS said HE at ANY TIME,” to verse 13 and simply quoted the Old Testament Scripture. “Sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool?” and one INTERPRETS verses 10-12 as being Jesus. Those verses would then be read as follows.

Hebrews 1:9-14 WITHOUT the ADDED words of the original writer of Hebrews in verse 13.

You (Speaking of Jesus) have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore, God, even YOUR God, (Speaking of Almighty God Yahweh as being the God and Father OF Jesus) has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows. (Or your partners)

10.  And, You, Lord, (Using the Trinitarian INTERPRETATION that the words, You, Lord are referring to Jesus which would then read as and you, Jesus) in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of Your hands:

11.  They shall perish, but you remain, and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;

12.  And as a vesture shall You fold them up, and they shall be changed: but You are the same, and Your years shall not fail.

13. ... Sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool?”

That makes no sense for Yahweh to sit on Yahweh’s right hand until Yahweh makes Yahweh’s enemies Yahweh’s footstool. So the see, without the writer of Hebrews ADDING those words BETWEEN each quote it would make no sense. But by ADDING the CORRECT words, those correct words let us know that the writer of Hebrews is CHANGING subject. It lets us know who he is referring to with each different quote of Scripture. But by NOT using the correct word YET in verse 10, then it sounds as if Jesus is Yahweh. And by not adding ANY words in verse 13, it sounds as if it is speaking to the Son to sit at his own right hand until the Son makes the enemies of Son the footstool of Son.

We all agree that the pronouns “my” and “I” are referring to Yahweh, the FATHER. And all Christians, except for Oneness Pentecostal Christians, know beyond any shadow of a doubt that Jesus is NOT the Father.

Can you not see my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, that the Greek word “kia” that is translated as the conjunction “And” does NOT mean that the SON in verse 10 is the one being referred to in verses 10-13 that is the Creator. Remember the example that I gave you earlier saying, Mark wrote the study AND you are reading this study? I am not you and you are not me. Now, if I would have said, Mark, the father of his son, wrote this study for his son, then went on to say, AND YOU… Then WHO would I be referring to by using the conjunction “AND” and the pronoun “YOU”? You would have no idea because I stopped. That is what the Hebrew writer did but he QUOTED a DIFFERENT Old Testament passage of Scripture where every Hebrew Christian knows beyond any shadow of a doubt is speaking of Yahweh and NOT the Messiah. So the words “AND YOU Lord” in verse 10 are referring back to the FATHER, the GOD OF Jesus in verse 9 and NOT referring to the Son who was ANOINTED to be above his FELLOWS. The LITERAL translation of the Greek word translated as fellows mean partners or havers with you. In other words, we are joint heirs of salvation WITH Jesus. A pronoun must refer back to a noun to know WHO the pronoun is referring to. And as you will see in a moment when we cover the rules of interpretation, that the pronoun you in verse 1 refers back to the noun God, even your God in verse 9, and not all the way back to the noun Son in verse 8.

Again, in the WHOLE theme of chapter one of Hebrews the writer is showing the HIGH EXALTATION of the HUMAN SON OF Almighty God to BECOME a God at his God and Father's right hand to rule and reign OVER the ANGELS. Go back and pay closer attention as to how the writer of Hebrews FOCUS was to switch back and forth COMPARING the SON with the ANGELS.

Also, one rule of interpretation is “PRONOUN use” which is to clearly identify the pronouns such as “HE”, “HIM”, and “YOU” by the closest antecedent to which that pronoun is referring. Please notice the pronoun “HE” in verse 13 is clearly referring to Almighty God the Father as the one who did not say to any of the angels to sit on His throne. And the closest antecedent to that pronoun “HE” in verse 13 is the word “Lord” or the words “YOU Lord” in verse 10. Therefore, according to the rules of interpretation, this means that the words “YOU Lord” in verse 10 are speaking of Almighty God the Father and NOT the SON. Let us read Hebrews 1:10-13 again so you can see what I mean.

Hebrews 1:10-13.

“And, You, Lord, (The pronoun “You” here is the closest antecedent to the pronoun He in verse 13. The two pronouns are connected because the pronoun He is verse 13 has to refer to someone. So the pronoun He in verse 13 is referring to the NOUN Lord in verse 10 which we all agree is Yahweh the Father and NOT the Son. It is Yahweh the Father who is the creator who) in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of Your hands: (Compare this phrase with the CONTEXT in Hebrews 2:5-12. The work of Yahweh’s hands of the world to COME have been placed in subjection of the Son of Yahweh)

11. They shall perish, but You remain, and they all shall wax old as does a garment.

12. And as a vesture shall You fold them up, and they shall be changed: but You are the same, and Your years shall not fail. (AND it is ALSO, Almighty God Yahweh the Father who will create the NEW heavens and the NEW earth after the 1000 year reign of Jesus. The only creation that Jesus is associated with being THROUGH Jesus is us who BELIEVE. In other words, BECAUSE OF Jesus, we, who believe, are created by Almighty God IN Jesus to become the ALL in verses like Ephesians 3:9, Colossians 1:16, Revelation 4:11, and John 1:3. Meaning all of the NEW CREATURES born-again in RIGHTEOUSNESS. For you see, the word “THINGS” is NOT in the original text in any of those passages of Scripture that are wrongly “interpreted” as Jesus being the creator of the entire Universe. Clearly, the context is speaking of BELIEVERS in Jesus as being the ALL, as opposed to being all things that have ever been created in the eternity past. Please read all the studies under the heading >>>P-0. Is JESUS the CREATOR?<<< So while verse 12 is speaking of the new creation to the new heavens and the new earth after the Millennial reign of Jesus please understand that it is NOT Jesus who is the creator to the worlds yet to come or the creator of the universe in the eternity past. I sincerely believe that the Biblical Unitarian Christians are the closest of all Christians of being correct in almost all other their interpretations BUT they have not correctly interpreted Hebrew 1:10 in my opinion because they wrongly conclude at this present time that Jesus is the creator of the new worlds or the new creation in verse 12. They failed to see that their interpretation would ALSO make Jesus the creator of the original creation as well which they do NOT teach. So if you are a Biblical Unitarian please take a closer look at your own interpretation of Hebrew 1:10, according to your Biblical Unitarian website. Now, I highly recommend to my readers to go to Biblical Unitarian websites. But I disagree on THEIR interpretation of Hebrews 1:10-12. How can verse 10 be speaking of the FUTURE heavens and earth when the writer of Hebrews is clearly quoting Psalm 102:25-27? For you see, verse 10 is clearly speaking of OLD, in the beginning when Yahweh laid the foundation. God created the original earth to be inhabited and not to perish, according to Isaiah 45:18. And the “Your Lord” in verse 10 is speaking of Yahweh the Father who is the creator of BOTH the old earth, the RESTORED earth in Genesis chapter 1, and the new earth that is yet to be created. According to Revelation 21:1-5, God HIMSELF will create the New heavens and the new earth, NOT Jesus. So I myself do not see how your argument shows that the words “and you Lord” refer to Jesus being the creator of the New earth. I mean, that is the whole point of the Trinitarian argument, to make Jesus be the Creator. I understand that God creates His new CREATURES through or because of Jesus. And I understand that God will USE Jesus to execute His WRATH at the end of this age. All of that AGREES with the rest of God’s word. But I do NOT see that Hebrew 1:10-12 are referring to Jesus as being the CREATOR of the FUTURE creation of the NEW earth and the new heavens at the end of the 1000 year reign of Jesus)

13. But to which of the angels said HE (Again, the closest antecedent to this pronoun “HE” is the noun Lord in verse 10. Therefore, the noun Lord in verse 10, according to one of the rules of interpretation, is speaking of Almighty God the Father because its' antecedent pronoun “HE” in verse 13 is, without fail, speaking of Almighty God the FATHER who does NOT say to the ANGELS) at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool?”

And again, all Christians, except for Oneness Pentecostal Christians, know beyond any shadow of a doubt that Jesus is NOT the FATHER who alone is Yahweh the Creator. Now the antecedent for the pronoun “YOU” in verse 10 has two different possible nouns that it could be referring to in verse 9. But HOW do we know WHICH noun the pronoun “YOU” is referring to in verse 9? The only choices are the Father and the Son. Trinitarian Christians “INTERPRET” the pronoun “YOU” in verse 10 as referring to the Son. But as you can clearly see the pronoun “He” in verse 10 is speaking of the FATHER and that pronoun He in verse 13 is referring back to the pronoun “YOU” in verse 10.

Therefore, according to the Trinitarian INTERPRETATION of Hebrews 1:10 that makes Jesus to BE the FATHER. Thus, Trinitarian Christians CONTRADICT their OWN doctrine of the Trinity which clearly states that Jesus is NOT the FATHER.

Now, some Christians may still argue that if Jesus is NOT Yahweh Himself, then that would make TWO Gods. And to that argument, I would say that they are absolutely correct. For you see, the Father and His Son are, indeed two SEPARATE Gods who are in AGREEMENT as ONE. Yahweh, the Father is the God OF gods, including being the Almighty God and Father OF his Son, Jesus. The Father MADE Jesus come to be His Lord and SET His highly exalted human Son to BE His King according to Acts 2:36, Psalm 2, and Psalm 89:27. Please read the study D-5. ARE THERE TWO GODS?

Below is a complete list of all the studies that I have which show WHY I no longer believe in the doctrine of the Trinity and why I can NEVER believe in the doctrine of Oneness. I assure you that every verse that SEEMS to be saying that Jesus pre-existed in the eternity past has another meaning that does NOT contradict any other verses of Scripture in the entire Bible. And also, every verse of Scripture that SEEMS to be saying that Jesus is Yahweh Himself does, indeed, have another meaning that does NOT contradict any other part of God’s word like the doctrines of the Trinity, Oneness, and the Deity of Jesus during the days of his flesh having two natures at the same time, one divine nature, and one human.
