SPELLING EDITED F-13. CAN CHRISTIANS BE PERFECT? What did Jesus mean when he told us to be YOU PERFECT EVEN AS our Father in heaven is PERFECT and what does it mean when Almighty God the Father says be YOU HOLY for I am holy mean? I mean is it even possible for a person to be as Holy As Almighty God himself? Can a person truly be as perfect as our creator Almighty God the Father is PERFECT? If not then WHY did Jesus and Almighty God speak these words to us if so be that it is not possible to be perfect and holy even as Almighty God himself is perfect and holy? Let us begin this study in God’s word by reading the verses out of their context first and then we will go back and read these verses in their context and in the light of the whole word of Almighty God. Matthew 5:48. “Be you, therefore, perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” 1 Peter 1:16. “Because it is written, Be you holy; for I am holy.” Peter is quoting the Old Testament which is our schoolmaster leading us to Jesus. In other words, there are hidden prophecies of things to come written in the Old Testament which has now been fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Please read Leviticus 20:7,8. “Sanctify yourselves, therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God. 8. And you shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you.” So then, we cannot sanctify ourselves unless it is Yahweh himself who is the one doing the SANCTIFYING. Let me ask you a simple question. If Almighty God HIMSELF forgives you of ALL your sins and it is HE who says you are CLEANSED or made CLEAN then are you clean in HIS eyes? I mean if Almighty God himself says that even though our sins be as scarlet they shall be WHITE as SNOW then how can anyone say that they are NOT perfect when it is God himself who made you PERFECT in his eyes when he himself CLEANSED you of all your sin? Let us read the verses that speak of our sins being made as white as snow to learn just how WHITE the Bible itself means. Please read Isaiah 1:18. “Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Now, when we look at the snow we can see that it is white but we can also see that some snow is dirty as well. And the wool of a lamb may be white but it does not look like PURE white in our eyes. But we must remember that this is an allegory that represents the PURE cleanliness and holiness of God. Please read Daniel 7:9. “I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days (speaking of Almighty God the Father himself) did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.” God is the invisible eternal Spirit who dwells in the LIGHT which no man has seen nor can see in his full purity and that is how white the garment or countenance of Yahweh is. But men have seen a portion of God’s glory clothing, Jesus, when God opened their spiritual eyes to see the vision on the mount of transfiguration. Please read Matthew 28:3. “His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:”
Mark 9:3. “And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.” So then, there is nothing on earth that can compare to how PURE WHITE the garment of Almighty God truly is and that is how PURE God wants our garment to be. Not our natural clothing but rather the garment that he clothes us with the very moment we BELIEVE in Jesus as the atonement of our sin. In other words, we are to seek HIS righteousness and not our OWN righteousness. Please read Matthew 6:33. “But seek you first the kingdom of God and HIS righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Well, what is HIS righteousness? God's righteousness is that we become HIS WORKMANSHIP to trust in HIS so great a salvation which Almighty God has chosen for us BEFORE the foundation of the world that our salvation would be IN his Son Jesus Christ as the ONLY WAY to be saved. Please read Ephesians 1:4,5. “According as HE (Almighty God the Father HIMSELF) has chosen us IN HIM (or IN Jesus Christ) before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5. Having predestined us unto the adoption of children BY Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,” In other words, the ONLY way anyone can be PERFECT before Almighty God is to be IN his Son Jesus Christ and as long as we REMAIN IN Jesus Christ we ARE PERFECT even as our Father in heaven is PERFECT because that is the WILL and good pleasure of Almighty God himself to BE as HE said it will be. And the only way we can do this is by FAITH. The Bible teaches us that it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God WITHOUT FAITH and whatever is NOT of FAITH is SIN. Please read Hebrews 11:6 and Romans 14:23. Hebrews 11:6. “But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Romans 14:23. “And he that doubts is damned if he eats because he eats not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is a sin.” This verse in Romans 14:23 is primarily speaking of those things written in the Old Testament that were nailed to the cross and that do not apply to us as Christians under the New Covenant written in the New Testament. Basically, Paul is being patient or longsuffering with the Jews who are becoming Christians to give the Holy Spirit time to reveal the truth to them about the dietary laws and the keeping of the feast days and the weekly Sabbath days. In other words, Paul is saying to the Jews who have become Christians that if they DOUBT the TRUTH of the NEW Covenant then it is better for them to continue to not eat pork, keep the feast days and the weekly Sabbath days until their FAITH grows in God’s word written in the NEW Testament under the NEW Covenant because whatever is NOT of FAITH is a sin. Now, this also applies to what is NOT taught in God’s word. Let me explain what I mean by this. Some churches teach what is called a WORKS based salvation which Biblically speaking is doing works that are NOT written in the NEW Testament for us to do. In other words, there are TWO kinds of works. The works that MAN has ADDED to the word of God and the works that Almighty God HIMSELF REQUIRES of us. I bring this out because sadly there are some Christians who have gone to the EXTREME in their teaching on saved by grace ALONE and this extreme teaching has caused a division in the body of Jesus Christ by going too far to the extreme even to say that FAITH is a WORK. Please read the study “EXAMING CALVINISM IN THE LIGHT OF GOD'S WORD!” and “IS ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED BIBLICAL?” but for now, here are a couple of examples of works-based salvation that man has added to God’s word. Almost all man-made works base salvation is driven by FEAR, the fear IF I do not do this or that then I cannot be saved. And most all of the man-made works-based salvation is taught in those churches who claim that they alone are the one true church and if you leave that church you are doomed to go to hell. Here is a shortened list of the churches that I will list in no particular order that have the doctrine or teaching that they ALONE are the one true church even if the members of those churches are not aware of until they try and leave one of those church denominations. #1. The Roman Catholic church. #2. The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints also known as the Mormons. #3. The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society better known as the Jehovah’s Witnesses. #4. The World Mission Society Church of God and all her sects which wrongly teach that there is a Mother God. #5. The Seventh Day Adventist church and all seventh day of the week Sabbath keeping Christian church denominations. #6. The International Church of Christ. #7. The Church of Scientology or Scientologists. Now in each one of the above-mentioned church denominations, there are man-made WORKS that their members must do in order to be pleasing to God, in order to receive eternal life in the world to come, or in order to not be committing a sin. For example, in the Roman Catholic church denomination, all Catholics MUST attend the sacrifice of the Mass on Sunday or Saturday evening and if they do not it is a mortal sin which will send them straight to hell with no chance of going to purgatory unless they confess their sin to a priest. And in the Mormon church, they are taught that they must do all that they can do first before God’s grace can be received and the only hope they have is IF their own works of righteousness were enough to save them. In the Jehovah’s Witnesses, they must not celebrate any holidays including birthdays. They can never question what they are being taught. And in some wards or fellowships, they are required to witnesses so many hours a week and keep a time card record of these hours. So like the Mormons they are kept so busy doing church work that they have no time to read and study the Bible for themselves. Now, the World Mission Society Church of God makes it mandatory for receiving eternal life for their members to believe in Mother God as the one who will give them living water which to them means eternal life. The women must have their heads covered with a veil. The men and women cannot sit together in church services. All seven feast days must be kept but they are kept in a new and different way. For example, the ordinance of communion has become the yearly Passover feast that must be kept every year on Nissan 14. The Seventh Day Adventist Church and all seventh day of the week Sabbath keeping church denominations make the keeping of the weekly Sabbath as the mandatory must be kept Holy day of the week and it must be kept on a Saturday. Most Sabbath day church denominations also enforce the keeping of all the feast days and the dietary laws under the Old Covenant. Most require their women to wear veils or scarfs on their heads to keep them covered. Basically, to some of the Sabbath churches like the Hebrew Roots Movement, you are not pleasing God unless you walk like a Jew, talk like a Jew, dress like a Jew, act like a Jew, and eat like a Jew. And in the International Church of Christ, they make it mandatory to be baptized FIRST in order to be saved and they require their members to confess their sins to each other in great DETAIL much like Scientology. Now almost all of these church denominations require your giving them MONEY is some manner. Some outright teach that if you do not tithe 10% of all your earnings then you are not pleasing God. But almost all these churches use some form of GUILT to get their members to give the church denomination money. Basically, their members give out of OBLIGATION and FEAR which is totally NOT what the New Testament teaches us. Now, apart from and also including these church denominations, there are TEACHINGS within most all church denominations that are man-made and dogmatically demanded to be believed teachings in order to be saved. What I mean by this is that almost every church denomination has at least one TEACHING that MUST be believed in order to either be saved or to receive eternal life in the world to come that is NOT SPECIFICALLY taught in the Bible ITSELF as a must be believed teaching in order to be saved. The teaching itself may be taught in the Bible, but it is NOT taught as some teaching that must be believed IN ORDER TO BE SAVED. For example, the Oneness Pentecostal Christians sincerely believe that unless Christians believe in Modalism or the doctrine of Oneness then they are not truly saved. In other words, according to the Oneness belief, you MUST believe that Jesus IS the FATHER in order to be SAVED. And if you do NOT believe that Jesus is ONE and the SELF-SAME being as the Father then, according to them, you are not saved. Likewise, most all Trinitarian Christians sincerely believe that unless a Christian believes in the doctrine of the Trinity then they are not truly a Christian and thus they are not truly saved. Those are the kinds of WORKS-based salvation churches and doctrines that are NOT taught in the Bible itself as the WORKS which Almighty God HIMSELF requires us to do to be saved and to receive eternal life in the world to come. Everything with God is centered on FAITH in order to please God. Faith in his SON Jesus and FAITH in the promises of God written in His WORD and more particularly faith in what God has inspired the apostles and the disciples of Jesus to RECORD for us under the New Covenant written in the New Testament of the Holy Bible. It is God who saves. It is God who sanctifies. It is God who justifies. And it is GOD who will give us eternal life if we BELIEVE and do what HE teaches us to do and not what man-made doctrines teach us to do. So let us all stop ADDING to God’s word and TAKING AWAY from God’s word and simply BELIEVE ONLY what God himself teaches us in HIS word of truth. We have already learned that the ONLY way to be saved is to be found IN Jesus Christ. In other words, you have to be saved FIRST before you can DO HIS good works and be pleasing to God by not having any BOASTING or PRIDE in you. Let us now go through the verses on being sanctified and justified to learn the difference between us doing our OWN good works, doing his good works through our own strength and doing only HIS good works THROUGH FAITH. Please read John 17:17,19. “Sanctify them through your truth: your word is truth.” Here we see that it is Almighty God the Father who is the one who sanctifies and that it is he who sanctifies us through his word of TRUTH. Not his word of error and false teaching but his word of TRUTH. Let us read John 17:19 where Jesus sanctifies himself THROUGH the Eternal Spirit who dwelt IN him helping and empowering Jesus, the Son of man, to obey the word of TRUTH. “And for their sakes, I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.” Ephesians 5:26. “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,” The “he” here in Ephesians 5:26 is speaking of Jesus Christ sanctifying his own body the church through the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit who washes us clean by the word of Almighty God. The water is speaking of the Holy Spirit as oil and wine speak of the Holy Spirit. Another way to perhaps say this is that we are cleansed by the ANOINTED word of God or by teaching and preaching of God’s word that is anointed to bear witness in us as being the TRUTH. 1 Thessalonians 5:23. “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Here we see that Almighty God desires that our whole being spirit soul and body be sanctified and PRESERVED blameless without spot or blemish unto the coming of Jesus. To say this another way, our spirit is sanctified the very moment we believe in Jesus as the atonement for all our past sins. And our spirit or inner man is PRESERVED and kept blameless by our CONFESSING our sins after we have become a true born-again new creation in Jesus Christ as opposed to trying to reason away our sins and thus we do not crucify our BODIES daily to keep sin out of our lives. I mean how can one keep sin out of their life if so be that they DECEIVE themselves to wrongly say that it is NOT a sin? Hebrews 13:12. “Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.” The shed blood of Jesus cleanses us from all our sin initially when we first believe. And the blood of Jesus continues to keep us clean and white as snow as we walk free from sin. And IF we commit sin after we have accepted Jesus as our Savior the blood of Jesus will always cleanse us from those future sins IF SO BE we CONFESS our sins when and if we give in to temptation and sin.
1 Peter 3:15. “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” This verse is speaking about us sanctifying God in our own hearts to always do good and right in the eyes of Almighty God to suffer the WRONG that has been done to us without cause and then be ready to give an answer to those who have wronged us, persecuted us, or defrauded us as to why we do not fight back. And as we make these quality decisions deep within our heart or our inner man to sanctify or separate ourselves from the things of the world to do things God’s way then God sanctifies us by helping or empowering us to do HIS good works of righteousness. But again, in order to be holy and perfect even as our father in heaven is holy and perfect we must first have God cleans us from the INSIDE outward. Please read Matthew 23:25-28. “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. 26. You blind Pharisee, cleanse FIRST that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. (So then, a Christian in name only can never live without sin because they do not have the Holy Spirit DWELLING IN them to empower them to live without sin. Jesus is saying that if you want to be clean and found worthy before God then you must be saved FIRST and then God will help you clean up the outside of you, that the world sees as being dirty and sinful) 27. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. 28. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.” So all the good works of righteousness in the world that a person or church denomination does cannot save them or sanctify them if so be they are doing those good works in the eyes of MEN. God sees their hearts. He sees their pride and he sees their boasting and it is as filthy rags in the eyes of God. But let us NOT judge what is in the heart of others. Hebrews 2:11. “For both he that sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,” Only God can truly know the heart of others who have been born and raised in one of those church denominations where works of MEN are added to what the Bible itself teaches us. So who are we to judge whether or not they are saved and sincerely love God with all their hearts doing only what the know to do to serve God? Hebrew 9:13,14. “For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh: 14. How much more shall the blood of Christ, who THROUGH the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” In this passage of Scripture, we see two things. First, we see that it is by the shed BLOOD of Jesus Christ that we are SANCTIFIED. But we also see that Jesus lived his life without sin THROUGH the power of the Holy Spirit who dwelt in him. And so it must also be with us as well that we overcome sin in the SAME way which is THROUGH the power of the Eternal Spirit who now dwells in us and NOT through our OWN strength lest there be boasting and pride. Acts 20:32. “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.” Here we see that it is God, his grace, and his word that preserves us unto the coming of Jesus to receive our inheritance.
Acts 26:18. “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” This is Paul here speaking the words of Jesus which he heard Jesus speak to him in a vision where Paul saw Jesus speaking to him. So the first step of being saved is to have our eyes OPENED to the truth where the truth turns us from darkness to God and then we are sanctified by our FAITH in Jesus and forgiven of all of past sins. Now, the next step is to walk in this sanctification or this free gift of being made PERFECT and holy in the eyes of Almighty God by having our eyes OPENED to even more TRUTH which will make us FREE from the DOMINION and BONDAGE of sin by FAITH in the PROMISES in God’s WORD of TRUTH. Again not faith is man-made teachings that you are a sinner and you can never live without sin, but rather faith in the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God given to us only by the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit who leads and guides us into all TRUTH. Romans 15:16. “That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.” Here we see that the Jews who became Christians were judging the Gentiles as not being able to be saved except they first become a JEW. Today Christians judge other Christians saying that they can only be saved if they FIRST are baptized in their church denomination because according to them their church denomination alone is the one true church. But every truly born-again Christian who is not a part of their church knows that their church denomination is making a lie and deceiving them to do works to earn salvation that is not the works taught in the Bible itself. 1 Corinthians 1:2. “Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified IN Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:” Here we see that any person who is IN Jesus Christ is sanctified IN Jesus Christ the SAME as every other believer IN Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior even if they are in BONDAGE of doing man-made works that were added to the NEW Testament under the NEW Covenant. I mean, I myself, still consider some of my brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ who are in the seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping church to be saved even though their church denomination wrongly teaches them that they MUST keep the weekly Sabbath day lest they sin. I still consider some in the Roman Catholic church to be saved by the shed blood of Jesus to be truly born-again Christians sanctified by God, having forgiven them of all their past sin. But at the same time, I see that they are being DECEIVED by the false teaching of doing man-made WORKS that are NOT found in the NEW Testament under the NEW Covenant whereby we MUST be saved. And the same goes with some of the other false church as well. But I will say that some false church teachings are way more dangerous than other false teachings and much harder for them to see the TRUTH which will make them free. This is not to say that not all false churches are dangerous and may cause some to lose their salvation if so be they remain in those false churches. What I mean by this is that some churches do indeed teach the true gospel of Jesus Christ on HOW to be saved and HOW to receive eternal life but they still have other FALSE teachings that will cause their followers to lose their salvation. For Example, they may not have sound Biblical teaching on the second coming of Jesus. The church denominations that are dangerous are those that wrongly teach that Christians can never lose their salvation no matter what they do or do not do. Those kinds of church denominations are wrongly misleading Christians to live in a lifestyle of sin. 1 Corinthians 6:11. “And such WERE some of you: but you are WASHED, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” Here we see that we are both sanctified and justified in the name of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit who opened our eyes to the TRUTH which made us free by our FAITH in the word of God. We will talk more about being justified when we get to those verses in just a moment. We have about eight more verses teaching us about being sanctified. 1Corinthians 7:14. “For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.”
This simply means that by our works and words we teach our unbelieving spouse the way of God and that believing parents teach their children the same way by example as well as our words. 1 Timothy 4:5. “For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.” This is speaking about blessing our food giving thanks to God for his word. The context is about receiving what God has CLEANSED by his word under the NEW Covenant and thus all manner of meat has been cleansed by God and we are FREE to eat pork and shrimp and every other once forbidden food under the OLD Covenant because it is sanctified and made pure by the word of God and prayer. 2 Timothy 2:21. “If a man, therefore, purges himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.” This verse is speaking about purging ourselves from FALSE teachings for in every house or in every church denomination there are false teachings that bring dishonor to God.
Hebrews 2:11. “For both he that sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,” We already covered this verse, but basically, let us not judge those in other church denominations as to whether they are saved or not. Rather, let us only expose the TEACHINGS that are NOT SOUND Biblical teachings. Hebrews 10:10. “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
This is speaking about the NEW Covenant by the which we are sanctified NOT by works but by the sacrifice Jesus made FOR us, the shedding of his BLOOD to establish the NEW COVENANT. Hebrew 10:14. “For by one offering he has perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
Here is the verse that proves that we are made PERFECT in the eyes of Almighty God by the one offering of the Son of Man Jesus freely laying down his life in obedience to the WILL of his God and Father to suffer and die a brutal death on the cross for OUR sins. You cannot get any more perfect than the PERFECT that Almighty God himself bestows upon us the very moment we BELIEVE in his Son Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Hebrews 10:29. “Of how much sorer punishment, suppose you, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done despite unto the Spirit of grace?” So then, it is NOT walking away from the FALSE church and FALSE teaching that condemns a Christian, but rather it is walking away from JESUS and the NEW COVENANT that he shed his BLOOD to establish FOR us so that WHOSOEVER believes might be saved. Jude 1:1. “Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:” Here we see the fulfillment of Genesis 2:26 where God prophesied saying Let US make man in OUR image prophesying of God's NEW creation being created IN Jesus Christ where BOTH the Father and the Son of man, Jesus are conforming us into the image of Jesus who has now become the express image of his God and Father. Let us now move on to the verses that teach us about being justified. Luke 10:29. “But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor?” This verse has several meanings where one of those meaning is that we cannot EXPLAIN AWAY what God himself calls sin and unrighteousness and expect to be justified by GOD. Therefore, all SELF-justification will not save anyone. Luke 16:15. “And he said unto them, You are they which justify yourselves before men; but God KNOWS your HEARTS: for that which is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.” This means that the PERSON who does any and all WORKS done in the SIGHT of MEN to be seen of MEN is an abomination to God. The works themselves may be good and noble works worthy of praise but the Christians who do those works to receive glory and praise of men have their reward, the pat on the back that they receive from MEN. Romans 3:30. “Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision BY FAITH (Or through faith), and uncircumcision THROUGH FAITH (Or by faith).”
Here we see that it is Almighty God himself who does the JUSTIFYING and that the only way we can be justified by God is through or by our FAITH in his Son Jesus the Christ who suffered and died for our sins. Galatians 3:8. “And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel (Or good news or a blessing) unto Abraham, saying, In you shall all nations be blessed.” The main point of this verse is that God foreordained salvation to be through FAITH in what His Son would accomplish on the cross to bring forth a BLESSING to the whole world so that whosoever of any human being who BELIEVES on the Son of God Jesus as the atonement for their sins might be saved. Romans 4:5. “But to him that works not, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”
Here we see that the only way that the ungodly can be JUSTIFIED is through their FAITH in Jesus and then their FAITH is counted to them as righteousness or being made PERFECT and holy in the eyes of Almighty God. Even after we are saved, sanctified, and justified just as if we had never sinned to become a new creation created in Jesus Christ and we sin again, then we must have FAITH in God’s word to obey the Holy Spirit to CONFESS our sin and then BELIEVE that we are FORGIVEN of those sins as well to be cleansed from all our unrighteousness to once again be made PERFECT and Holy in the eyes of Almighty God being clothed in HIS FREE GIFT of righteousness. Romans 8:33. “Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifies.” Again it is only God himself who justifies sinners AND Christians alike and that is by FAITH in his SOn and IN his PROMISES in his word. Matthew 11:19. “The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.” I would only be guessing as to what this verse means in the light of the whole word of God.
Matthew 12:37. “For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words, you shall be condemned.” Confession is made unto salvation. This is speaking of all types of salvation, as in, being delivered from evil circumstances, being healed from a sickness or a disease, and God meeting your needs. In other words, IF during a TRIAL of your faith you do NOT endure unto the END of that trial to RECEIVE what you are believing God to receive by CONFESSING failure then your own words condemn you by your own CONFESSION of unbelief and doubt. BUT if you DO endure unto the end of your faith to RECEIVE what you are believing God to receive then you are JUSTIFIED by your CONFESSION of FAITH. So if Satan deceives you to FEAR that God will no longer forgive you then your WORDS will become CONFESSIONS of FEAR which could cause you to walk away totally from God. And thus you would lose your salvation. God will never leave YOU but anyone of us can become deceived by Satan to leave God. Luke 7:29. “And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.” Or they sanctified God’s word as being the truth and thus they OBEYED what God was telling them to do at that point in time. After the cross John’s baptism of repentance for the remission of sins was replaced by the baptism in water in the name of Jesus as an act of obedience to the teaching of Jesus to testified publicly that you now BURY your flesh and rise again to a NEW LIFE IN Jesus Christ where it is no longer you who live but Christ IN you who lives leading and guiding you to what HE wants you to do or not to do.
Luke 18:14. “I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.”
Here again, we see that the ones who do NOT seek the praises of MEN but they humble themselves before God shall be exalted by God and have TREASURE in heaven and perhaps even blessings here in this present world as well. But he who is proud and boastful seeking the praises of men shall be made low and they have their reward which is the pat on the back by men if they receive even that because some can see right through their pride. Acts 13:39. “And by him, all that believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.” Here we see that no man is justified by the OLD Covenant law of Moses. But now, we ARE JUSTIFIED by our FAITH in the NEW Covenant established by the shed blood of Jesus. Romans 2:13. “(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.” And NOW it is impossible to be a doer of the whole law of Moses because the SACRIFICES under the OLD Covenant have been done away with by Almighty God himself. So then, it is either salvation by the NEW Covenant or NO salvation at all to those who reject or neglect so great a salvation that God GIVES to us FREELY without any works of our OWN, wherein there can be boasting and pride. Romans 3:4. “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That you mightest be justified in your sayings, and mightest overcome when you are judged.”
This verse means pretty much the same thing that Jesus taught us in Matthew12:37. Therefore let us hold fast the profession or the confession of our faith which has a great recompense of reward. Let us not cast away the confession of our faith. Romans 3:20. “Therefore, by the deeds (Or the WORKS) of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:24. “Being justified FREELY by his grace through the redemption that is IN Christ Jesus:” Romans 3:28. “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.” Now, this means more than what the once saved always saved grace alone church denominations teach. This means that if we TRULY BELIEVE that we have been made the RIGHTEOUSNESS of Almighty God himself then we will WALK IN that RIGHTEOUSNESS and NOT SIN anymore. The deeds of the LAW here are referring to the Law of Moses contained in ORDINANCES and NOT the MORAL laws of Almighty God. And this is why I expose the errors of interpretation made by those who teach the once saved always saved and eternal security doctrines that Christians can never lose their salvation no matter what they do or do not do. Please read the study “IS ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED BIBLICAL?” Romans 4:2. “For if Abraham were justified by works, he has whereof to glory; but not before God.”
Again the works themselves are not wrong but rather it is the pride and boasting in one’s OWN good works being done in their OWN strength wherein there can be boasting and pride. Romans 5:1. “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”
Or no more worry of boasting and pride or being good enough to be pleasing to God. We can now truly REST in Jesus as our true Sabbath rest because we now know that our OWN good works done in our OWN strength are NOT pleasing to God but rather they are filthy rags in his eyes. Romans 5:9. “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” In other words, we were justified by the shed blood of Jesus and now we shall be justified THROUGH his LIFE to be saved from the wrath of God that will come upon the ungodly and disobedient children of God by following Jesus’ example of OBEDIENCE to do ALL of his God and Father’s WILL. Romans 8:30. “Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.”
Now no one has been glorified but ONE and that one is the Son of man, Jesus. In other words, all who have answered the call of the preaching and teaching of the gospel by receiving and BELIEVING the true gospel of Jesus Christ then you ARE JUSTIFIED, as in, you have been forgiven of all your past sins and you have been made clean and white as snow JUST AS IF you had never sinned. The moment you believed you were made PERFECT in the eyes of Almighty God even as he is PERFECT. And now, during your WALK with the Lord, you are BEING justified again and again from FAITH to FAITH. The JUST shall LIVE by FAITH. In other words, every time a true born-again Christian gives in to the temptation that they are being tempted then they have committed a SIN. And the ONLY way to remove the stain of that sin is by your FAITH in God’s word to OBEY the word of God and CONFESS that sin. And then you must BELIEVE in God’s faithfulness to his word that he has forgiven you of that sin you just confessed. And IF you OBEY God's word to REPENT and CONFESS your sins then you will be once again cleansed from all your unrighteousness to be made PERFECT all over again in the eyes of Almighty God. So then, the JUST or those of us who have already been saved or justified to be JUST are now called to LIVE by FAITH. This means, first of all, to overcome sin BY our FAITH in the promises of God and not in our OWN strength and sheer will power overcoming one temptation at a time. But it also means that IF we should give in to a temptation and sin to be separated from God to become spiritually dead, then we are to LIVE or rise again to everlasting life by FAITH in the promise of God that if we CONFESS our sin then he is FAITHFUL to forgive us of our sin and also CLEANSE us from ALL unrighteousness to make us PERFECT once again in his eyes. So quit arguing with the Holy Spirit to try and EXCUSE your sin saying things like, “well it was just a little lie and everyone lies so what is the big deal anyway? Besides I am way better than some Christians”. Rather, simply admit that you sinned and CONFESS your sin. That is all that God wants from us in order for us to be PERFECT even as he is PERFECT. So confess your sin quickly so you will remain in HIS righteousness and be found WORTHY to receive eternal life in the world to come. 1 Corinthians 4:4. “For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judges me is the Lord.” Even the revelation knowledge we are given by God must never rise up in us to cause us to become filled with pride to look down upon those who have not yet received the same understanding of God’s word that you or I have received. Some Christians may judge you to be a sinner because you do not keep Saturday as the weekly Sabbath day. Now, you know and understand that such works do not justify us under the New Covenant but do NOT judge them as being unsaved because God looks upon their HEART and they are being DECEIVED by false teachings. God is still yet working in them to open their eyes of understanding to the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 6:11. “And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified IN the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”
Galatians 2:16. “Knowing that a man is NOT justified by the works of the law, but BY the FAITH of Jesus Christ, even we have believed IN Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the FAITH of Christ, and NOT by the works of the law: for by the works of the law (Speaking of the Law of Moses contained in ORDINANCE which is the CEREMONIAL laws) shall NO flesh be justified.”
Galatians 2:17. “But if, while we (Speaking of the Jewish Christians) SEEK to BE justified by Christ, (Or DURING our WALK in FAITH with the Lord WHILE we are being justified BY FAITH and NOT of works of the LAW of Moses. BUT we KEEP the law of Moses) we ourselves also are found sinners, (In the eyes of the God who nailed those ceremonial laws to the cross) is, therefore, Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.”
Paul goes on to say that we who are crucified WITH Jesus Christ must obey what the Holy Spirit has taught us in the NEW Testament under the NEW Covenant lest we fall from GRACE and Christ died in VAIN. Paul is WARNING those who are trying to keep the Law of Moses that they are sinning against the New Covenant. Please read Galatians 2:19-21. “For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. (not of the law of Moses but of the law of FAITH which we are now under being under the NEW Covenant wherein only the MORAL laws apply) 19. For I through the law am dead to the law (all the ceremonial laws and ordinances of the feast days, weekly Sabbath days and the dietary laws), that I might live unto God. (to obey all the MORAL laws and walk in LOVE toward one another) 20. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet NOT I, but Christ lives IN me: (And the ANOINTING living is us would NEVER lead us to break any MORAL law of Almighty God) and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the FAITH of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 21. I do not frustrate the GRACE of God: for IF righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in VAIN.” In verse 20, we can see where Paul is teaching us that as we overcome sin it is NOT we who are actually doing the WORK any more than when we HEAL the sick it is NOT we who are healing the sick. If we take the glory for healing the sick then we lie against the Holy Spirit to boast in ourselves as being the healer. And if we BOAST that it is our OWN power to overcome sin then it is the sin of pride that we commit. For you see, the same is true when we overcome sin as it is when we heal the sick. It is NOT ME or it is not MY OWN power who overcomes sin but it is GREATER is HE who is IN me who is the one who overcomes sin as I simply obey and BELIEVE the promises of God written in his word of TRUTH. Please read the study “HOW TO LIVE YOUR LIFE FREE FROM SIN!”. Galatians 3:11. “But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall LIVE by faith.”
So then, we are made ALIVE by our faith in God’s word and then we keep ourselves ALIVE by our FAITH in God’s word. In other words, we are given the POWER to overcome sin by our FAITH in God’s word. There are two ways to overcome sin. We all do the first way when we are BABES in Jesus Christ yet learning and growing in him. And that way is to sin and repent, sin and repent, sin and repent. Then as you grow and mature something inside of you starts to HATE that process of sinning and repenting sinning and repenting and you cry out to God to HELP you to stop sinning. That is the Holy Spirit working IN you saying basically it is time for you to stop crawling around like a baby and begin WALKING after the Spirit to NOT obey the flesh anymore. This step too is a process for small children who take time to learn to walk without falling. And even adults fall even now and then. When you get to the point where you really and I do mean really desire to stop sinning then please read the study “HOW TO LIVE YOUR LIFE FREE FROM SIN!”. Galatians 3:24. “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.” Again, speaking of the CEREMONIAL laws, the feast days, the weekly Sabbath days to REMEMBER who DELIVERS, and the dietary laws are all shadows, figures, and types TEACHING us of the TRUTH which was prophesied to come. Galatians 5:4. “Christ has become of NO effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; you are FALLEN from grace.” And this is why Paul was AFRAID for those who were being SEDUCED to keep the law of Moses. And this is why I and other Christians speak the TRUTH to our dear brothers and sisters in the Lord who are being DECEIVED by those in the Hebrew Roots Movement and all the seventh day of the week Sabbath keeping church denominations that are causing you to FEAR. First, they cause FEAR in you that you are not pleasing to God because you do not keep all the law of Moses written in the Old Testament. Obviously, they would never begin their false gospel by demanding that you must keep ALL the Law of Moses. One of their first deceptions is that the Old Testament is a part of the Bible just the same as the New Testament. So then you think, yes, the Old Testament is indeed a part of the Bible. Then they will point out that the keeping of the Sabbath was ONE of the TEN commandments and they will plant a QUESTION in your mind by saying something like, how can God eliminated just ONE on his commandment and keep the other nine? And you think, good point, I do not know. And then they reel you in hook line and sinker because you do not KNOW and REST that you are under the NEW COVENANT and the keeping of the weekly Sabbath DAY was under the OLD COVENANT. And I fear for you that you are FALLEN from GRACE by seeking to please God by WORKS that HE HIMSELF NO LONGER requires us under the NEW Covenant to do. Please read the study “IS JESUS OUR SABBATH REST!”. 1 Timothy 3:16. “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” This is speaking about Jesus being JUSTIFIED in the Spirit. Remember that Hebrews 9:14 teaches us that Jesus lived his life without sin THROUGH the Eternal Spirit. Jesus said that the Son can do NOTHING of himself and that it was the Father IN him who did the works. Almighty God the Father is the Eternal Spirit who dwelt in Jesus and now dwells in us to empower us to keep all the MORAL laws of God AND to walk in LOVE suffering persecution and the wrong done to us without a cause. Titus 3:7. “That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” In other words, God saved us to DO good works of righteousness so that we should be HEIRS WITH Jesus in the world to come. James 2:21. “Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?” Some Christians use this verse to try and prove that we must keep all the law of Moses to be saved. Others use this verse to impose man-made works of doing church service or serving the church denomination. But in truth, the works Abraham did was simply to OBEY what God was specifically telling HIM to do. Otherwise, you must use this verse to offer you OWN son or daughter on the altar to God. NO! A thousand times NO! The works being spoken of here must be interpreted in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. Let us continue with what James has to say about works and faith. James 2:24. “You see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.” Here James is saying do not just simply say to someone who is hungry be full in the name of Jesus and do not give them any food because you REASON in your mind that if you were to give them some food then YOU may have to go without a meal or two. Where is your FAITH to trust God to supply all your NEED? I say to you that your SELFISH faith is DEAD lest it has good works of LOVE to go along with it. We walk by FAITH and not by sight so do not look at YOUR supply but rather look to GOD’S supply and feed the poor especially when God is knocking on the door of YOUR heart to reach out and help someone.
James 2:25. “Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers and had sent them out another way?” Again, this is a work of doing a good DEED and NOT some man-made church RULE or the keeping of the law of Moses contained in ORDINANCES under the OLD Covenant. So then, what is the difference from WORKS-based salvation from our salvation that is BY FAITH unto good works? Please read Romans 1:17. “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed FROM faith TO faith: as it is written, The just shall LIVE by faith.” So then, HOW is the righteousness REVEALED in our LIVES? What was the TRUE GOSPEL of Jesus Christ that SHOULD have been preached unto you? If it was anything other than you are saved by FAITH and NOT by any works of righteousness you can do then it was NOT the TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ. But that is NOT ALL of what the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ teaches. For you see AFTER we become JUST by FAITH without any works of righteousness we are to OBEY the gospel of Jesus Christ to DO GOOD WORKS of righteousness. We are to OBEY all the MORAL commandments of God lest we SIN. Therefore, since you were first SAVED BY FAITH then how can your own works of righteousness keep you saved? They cannot because if they do then there is BOASTING and PRIDE which is a sin. So the only way to remain saved is BY FAITH. But what if we SIN after we are saved? Then we BELIEVE that if we CONFESS our sin that God is faithful and just to forgive us of our sin each and every time we sin no matter if it is a 1000 times a day every day of our lives until Jesus returns. This is one of the meanings FROM faith TO faith or FROM one confessing of our sin to BELIEVE that we are forgiven TO the NEXT time we must use our FAITH to BELIEVE that when we confess our sin God is faithful to forgive us again and again and again and again over and over no matter how many times we sin. Now, as I said earlier, that as we GROW and mature in Jesus Christ the Holy Spirit leads us to the place that this over and over again and again repetitive sinning and repenting becomes something that we HATE to keep doing. We begin to think, what is wrong with me that I cannot seem to overcome this particular sin? God wanted to bring you to the place where you will see that it was NOT YOU who overcame all those other sins. And once you see this truth, then he will show YOU how you can overcome any and all sin ALL the time in your life. And once you mature to that level God can work on walking in LOVE the way HE wants us to walk in love to do the WORKS of LOVE that James spoke about and that John spoke about being like Jesus not even fearing for our own lives being ready to lay our own life down for another. So then let us CONTINUE to BE and REMAIN PERFECT being IN Jesus by our FAITH that we ARE pleasing in the eyes of God by remaining IN his SON Jesus to obey the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit. And IF we fall back into sin, then get right back up by FAITH and keep on believing that God LOVES us. Think about how we forgive our children when they ask us to forgive them and KNOW that God who is GREATER than man will always forgive us of our sins all the more.
Galatians 3:11. “But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall LIVE by faith.”
The Devil will try and beat you down LYING to you that there must be something wrong with you, or you must not truly be saved, or you have crossed some kind of line of no returning to God. In that time of FEAR, you must overcome the enemy by your FAITH in the PROMISES of God written in his word. Please read the study “HOW CAN I KNOW IF I SINNED THE SIN UNTO DEATH?” Hebrews 10:38. “Now the just shall LIVE by faith: but if any man draws back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.” Some Christians who have been LIED to in a false church and they come to realize that they have been lied to then they sometimes feel that no church has the truth. This is mainly due to the lie that their church has brainwashed them with that their church denomination ALONE is the ONE TRUE church and apart from THEIR church denomination, there is NO salvation. So I implore all my readers to never place your eternal life in the hands of anyone who claims that he or she alone has the truth and you cannot be saved apart from believing all that they teach you. I pray that you understand what the Biblical meaning of being PERFECT, even as, your Father in heaven is PERFECT means in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. So if you have been reasoning away sin in your life I pray right now that you CONFESS your sin and believe that God forgives you and makes you PERFECT in his eyes once again. Isaiah 5:20. “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Malachi 2:17. “You have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet you say, Wherein have we wearied him? When you SAY, Everyone that does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delights in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?” There are SOME Christians, in the once saved always saved grace alone movement, that have gone to the extreme to teach that they can do whatever they want to do and they can never lose their salvation. They may lose a few rewards but not their eternal life. To you, I say that God is wearied by your lying words because you say that no judgment of God has come upon you. IF it is judgment you want then so be it according to your own words if that is what it takes for you to see the truth of the WHOLE word of God. Let God be TRUE and every man a liar. Romans 3:3-6. “For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? 4. God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That you might be justified in your sayings, and might overcome when you are judged. 5. But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who takes vengeance? (I speak as a man) 6. God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?” And judgment BEGINS at the house of God. Please read 1 Peter 4:17-19. “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begins at us, what shall the end be of them that obey NOT the gospel of God? 18. And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 19. Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God COMMIT the keeping of their souls to him in WELL DOING, as unto a faithful Creator.” Be strong in the Lord and in the power of HIS might to REMAIN PERFECT so that you will be found faithful to be MADE PERFECT. What? Now you are confusing me, Brother Mark. How can one who is already made perfect by God and who is remaining perfect be MADE PERFECT? Would they not already be PERFECT? Yes, in RIGHTEOUSNESS of being cleansed of all their PAST sins they would already be PERFECT by walking in HIS perfect RIGHTEOUSNESS but they are not yet MADE PERFECT, in that, they are NOT yet MADE IMMORTAL never to die again. Did you know that God MADE the Son of man Jesus PERFECT after Jesus became obedient to do all his God and Father's will to suffer and die on the cross NOT for any sin that he committed but for OUR sins and not only for our sins but also for the sins of the WHOLE world so that whosoever of the ALL who BELIEVE IN Jesus as the CHRIST the anointed man of God who became our Messiah to make atonement for OUR sins is the Son of the living God whom Almighty God the Father RAISED from the dead never to die again? If not please read Hebrews 5:8-13. “Though he were a Son,(God's human mortal Son) yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; (Jesus suffered temptation but did not sin so the Son of man, Jesus, was already the perfect RIGHTEOUSNESS in which God was well pleased. Then being that SPOTLESS perfect sinless sacrifice the Son of man suffered the brutal death on the cross not for himself but for the sins of the entire world that God laid upon him to bear for us who BELIEVE.) 9. And being MADE PERFECT, (Speaking of after the cross) he BECAME the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; (After the cross God gave the Son of man immortality to be having in himself even as the Father has always possessed immortality in himself. In other words, the PERFECT RIGHTEOUS Son of man Jesus was MADE PERFECT because of his perfect obedience to walk in righteousness and BECAUSE the Son of man Jesus overcame sin through his obedience to the eternal Spirit dwelling in him God raised him from the dead or BEGOTTEN the MORTAL Son of man from the dead and gave to him the divine nature of immortality to be made in the PERFECT IMAGE OF the invisible God to become God's FIRSTBORN Son of every NEW creation. Please read the study "WHAT DOES FIRSTBORN OF EVERY CREATURE MEAN?") 10. Called of God a high priest after the order of Melchisedec. 11. Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing you are dull of hearing. 12. For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, you have a need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God, and are become such as have the need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13. For every one that uses milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.” Hebrews 11:39,40 goes on to teach us that the saints in heaven will NOT YET be MADE PERFECT UNTIL all the saints are MADE PERFECT together all at the same time. And that time we know to be the coming of God's FIRSTBORN back into the world at the second coming of Jesus. Please read Hebrews 11:39,40. “And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:(of their new glorified immortal body) 40. God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be MADE PERFECT.” Speaking of AT the LAST TRUMPET when this MORTAL shall be CHANGED to IMMORTAL because flesh and blood mortals cannot INHERIT the kingdom of God. Please read 1 Corinthians 15:50-53. “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh, and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption. 51. Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” The mortality of the Son of man, Jesus, was CHANGED to IMMORTALITY after the cross. Jesus was GLORIFIED after the cross with the PROMISE of the JOY set before him to endure the cross. Hebrews 12:1-4. Thanks for reading and may God bless you richly as you continue to seek the truth of the whole word of Almighty God. Your brother in our Lord Jesus Christ, Brother Mark.
