Chapter 9.
In chapter 8 I quoted John 5:37 which says no man has seen God’s SHAPE. I then said that the Greek word actually means VIEW. So the correct understanding of John 5:37 is that no man has UNDERSTOOD God’s VIEW or God’s PERSPECTIVE. In other words, we need to understand the Scriptures as God INTENDED them to be understood. And thus, Jesus is explaining to the unbelieving Jews that no man has UNDERSTOOD that God gives us PICTURES pf His Messiah in the Scriptures. In other words, God PROPHESIED what His Messiah word be LIKE. Let us go ahead and read verse 37 in its context.
John 5:36-40.
“But I have greater witness than that of John: for the WORKS which the Father has given me to FINISH, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father has SENT me. (Or the Father has COMMISSIONED me to FINISH His WORK, according to John 4:34. Again, the word “commission” means to GIVE power and authority to someone to accomplish the task that they are sent out or commissioned to do) 37. And the Father Himself, which has SENT me, (Or is SENDING me in the present tense) has borne witness of me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His SHAPE. (Or as yet no man has UNDERSTOOD God’s PERSPECTIVE. In other words, Jesus is telling the Jews that they do not yet have the TRUE PERSPECTIVE of God. And thus, their VIEW of God is corrupted or distorted. The Jews even to this day FEAR even to speak the name of God. They even write the word God as “G-d” for fear that someone else will speak the “title” God, let alone speak the name Yahweh. And thus, the custom or TRADITION they teach is that if any man SEES God face to face, they will DIE is a DISTORTED VIEW of God. And Jesus is teaching them and us that that VIEW of God is WRONG. The TRUE God is NOT like that, God is LOVE. God is only a consuming fire to His ENEMIES, those who REJECT Him and DENY that He exists) 38. And you have not His word abiding in you: for (Or BECAUSE) whom He has SENT, (Or who He has COMMISSIONED) him you believe not. (The CORE purpose of the Bible is to BELIEVE in God’s Messiah) 39. Search the Scriptures; for in them you THINK you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40. And you will not come to me, that you might have life.”
Here is another passage of Scripture to better help you understand what I am trying to explain.
1 John 4:18-21.
“There is NO FEAR in LOVE; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love. 19. We love Him, because He first loved us. 20. If a man says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother whom he has SEEN, how can he love God whom he has not SEEN? 21. And this commandment we have from him, That he who loves God loves his brother also.”
Now, Almighty God is INVISIBLE and no mortal man can ever SEE God with his or her physical eyes. So John is NOT saying that you have to LITERALLY SEE Almighty God with your physical eyes FIRST before you can LOVE your brother in the Lord. Rather, John is saying that if you have the correct VIEW of God as being LOVE and that God loved us FIRST while we were yet sinners, then through God’s love dwelling in us, we can love our brothers and sisters who we SEE. And again, the same Greek word is used for both, seeing God, and seeing our brother. And at times, our VIEW of our brothers and sisters is what we JUDGE them to be like with our physical eyes. We can not see what is INSIDE their heart. And thus, we ought to SEE them as God VIEWS them as being NEW CREATURES of righteousness. God VIEWS us with His MERCY and GRACE. God looks upon our HEART and the DESIRE of our NEW HEART is to do the Will of God. Here is another passage of Scripture that will help you SEE or understand what I am trying to explain.
John 1:17,18.
“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and TRUTH came by Jesus Christ. 18. No man has SEEN (Or UNDERSTOOD) God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he has DECLARED Him.”
Again, until Jesus came to UNFOLD the TRUE UNDERSTANDING of the Father, no man had yet understood God’s true character EXCEPT for the ONLY BEGOTTEN Son of God who has entered into the BOSOM of God. The Greek word translated as DECLARED means to UNFOLD. When something is all FOLDED up, then you cannot see what is INSIDE. You can only see PART of God. But Jesus UNFOLDED God, so to speak, so that we can VIEW God correctly or have a correct VIEW of God. The Greek word translated “IN” the bosom of the Father means INTO, as in, the Son of MAN, entered INTO the bosom of the Father to be SET or seated at His right hand. And that is what I want you to see in this chapter. I want you to SEE what the Bible ITSELF teaches us. All Christians know that Jesus is the FIRSTBORN of every creature, according to Colossians 1:15, but not all Christians SEE or UNDERSTAND what being the firstborn of every creature in the IMAGE of the invisible God TRULY means in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God. Some Christians wrongly believe that the Son of God was born in the eternity past. The Jehovah’s Witnesses are one of the groups of Christians that wrongly believe that the Son of God was born in the ETERNITY PAST. Other Christians believe that Colossians 1:15 speaks of the virgin birth of Jesus. Now, while the HUMAN Son of God did in fact come into existence at the virgin birth, that is NOT what Colossians 1:15 is referring to. For you see, the CONTEXT clearly teaches us that the Son of MAN, Jesus, BECAME the FIRSTBORN of every creature to be made in the image of God when God raised him from the DEAD. Please read the study called O-13. What does Firstborn of every Creature mean? But for now, let us get back to the meaning of the title of this chapter, “The Son was BORN to FINISH God’s WORK!” According to 1 John 5:8, the PURPOSE for the Son being MANIFESTED is to DESTROY the WORKS of Satan, the Devil. And Almighty God, Yahweh the Father BEGAN that WORK of destroying Satan and the fallen angels when He RESTORED the earth in Genesis chapter 1 and then said, “Let us make man in our IMAGE”. And after that sixth day of God RESTORING the earth and creating the first Aleph Tav Adam, God ceased from the work that he had STARTED or that He DID. Then in Genesis chapter 2, we learn that God’s WORK is BEING FINISHED in or during the SEVENTH day. In other words, the TRUE SEVENTH day is in the FUTURE. And thus, the seventh day of the WEEK is a SHADOW pointing to the TRUE Seventh day during the 1000 year reign of Jesus. Let us read Genesis 2:1-3 from the LITERAL word for word translation, which you can check for yourself. Since literal word for word translations can be confusing to some Christians, I will do some paraphrasing to make it easier to follow and understand.
Here is a LITERAL translation of Genesis 2:1-3.
“And they are BEING finished the heavens and the earth and all the host of them. 2. And God IS FINISHING them in or DURING the SEVENTH day the work He DID. And He is CEASING in or DURING the SEVENTH day from all the work He DID. (Or which Yahweh STARTED but is not FINISHED) 3. And God is blessing the (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) during the SEVENTH day and He is making (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) Holy so that IN him He CEASED from all work Him which He CREATED Elohim to do.” In other words, Almighty God has COMMITTED all judgment into the hands of the Son of MAN, Jesus, BECAUSE he is the Son of MAN, according to John 5:22-27. And YES, God CREATED Himself a God to rule FOR Him in His NAME for 1000 years in the world to come. The TRUE SEVENTH day is the 1000 year reign of Jesus. And the highly exalted Son of MAN, Jesus will rule as the God over the whole earth to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels by being God’s FAITHFUL and TRUE WITNESS. When you SEE, as in, you UNDERSTAND that Lucifer waged a WAR against Yahweh the Creator’s throne, then all of the Scriptures together fit in perfect harmony. Now, Trinitarian church TRADITION gets all bent out of shape when other Christians teach that the Son of God had a BEGINNING or any kind, because if the Son of God had a BEGINNING, then their whole man-made THEORY of the doctrine of the Trinity falls completely apart. And thus, they NEED the Son of God to never have a BEGINNING. Therefore, they must redefine words in the Bible such as the word “BEGOTTEN” to mean that being BORN does not mean having a BEGINNING. But I assure you that the Bible ITSELF teaches us that God sent His ONLY BEGOTTEN Son, which means the Son of God was BORN. And to be BORN means to be brought forth into existence where one never existed before until they were BORN. When Pilate asked Jesus if he was a King, Jesus answered and said that to this END he was BORN to be the King. Please know and understand that Jesus was NOT CROWNED as God’s King the very moment he was BORN. But rather, Jesus was anointed to be King after the cross and resurrection to be above his fellows, according to Hebrews 1:8,9. For you see, the human Son of God had to FIRST learn to be obedient to his God and Father, according to Philippians 2:8-11. And THEN, Yahweh CROWNED His human Son to RECEIVE glory, honor, and power to be SET as God’s King to JOIN his God and Father on his Father’s THRONE, accoding to Hebrews 2:7-12. That is what the Bible ITSELF teaches us. Please read John 18:37.
“Pilate therefore said unto him, Are you a king then? Jesus answered, you say that I am a king. To this END was I BORN, and for this CAUSE came I into the world, that I should bear WITNESS unto the TRUTH. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice.”
And the PROPHECY in Psalm 2:1-12 says that Yahweh shall SET His BEGOTTEN Son as His King. And in Psalm 89:27, Yahweh PROPHESIED that He would MAKE His FIRSTBORN higher than the kings of the earth. Let us go ahead and read Psalm 89:18-20,26-28.
Psalm 89:18-20,26-28.
“For the LORD (Yahweh the Father) is our defense; AND the Holy One of Israel (A prophecy of Jesus) is our king. 19. Then You spoke in a VISION to Your Holy One, (The Son of MAN, Jesus, according to Acts) and said, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have EXALTED one chosen out of the people. (Speaking of Yahweh’s ELECT in Isaiah 42:1-6, God’s NEW COVENANT. In other words, Jesus himself IS God’s NEW COVENANT) 20. I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I ANOINTED him:... …26. He shall cry unto me, You are my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation. 27. Also, I will MAKE him, My FIRSTBORN, HIGHER than the kings of the earth. 28. My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and My covenant shall stand fast with him.” Just as a side note the Hebrew word “aman” translated as “stand fast” also means “go to the right hand side”. And the Messiah is referred to as Yahweh’s COVENANT in Isaiah 42:1-8. So this could very well be another hidden PROPHECY of Yahweh’s human Son being exalted to JOIN his God and Father on His right hand side during the world to come. Let us go ahead and read that passage of Scripture too, because there are some other things that I want to point out.
Isaiah 42:1-8.
“Behold My SERVANT, whom I uphold; My ELECT, in whom My soul delights; I have put My spirit upon him: he shall bring forth JUDGMENT to the Gentiles. (The Hebrew word “GOY” carries the meaning of MASSING like troop or flight of locust. And Satan along with 1/3 of the angels MASSED together to wage a WAR against Yahweh and the good angels. And, according to Acts 17:29-31, Yahweh, the one Godhead in ONE person, will JUDGE the world BY the MAN that He ORDAINED and RAISED from the dead. In other words, Jesus will be Yahweh’s faithful and true WITNESS to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels that waged a WAR massing against Yahweh’s throne) 2. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. 3. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth JUDGMENT unto TRUTH. 4. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set JUDGMENT in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. 5. Thus says God the LORD, He that created the heavens, and stretched them out; He that spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of it; He that gives breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: 6. I the LORD (Or I Yahweh) have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you, and GIVE YOU FOR a COVENANT of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; 7. To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. 8. I am the LORD: that is My NAME: and My glory will I not give to ANOTHER, (Meaning that Yahweh will not give His glory to anyone OTHER THAN His ELECT) neither my praise to graven images.”
But church TRADITION wrongly interprets verse 8 to mean that Yahweh will never share His glory with anyone. Their incorrect “interpretation” CONTRADICTS the TRUTH. For you see, God DID SHARE His GLORY with His human Son, Jesus. Now, ONLY part of this prophecy of God sharing His glory with His ELECT has been fulfilled in Jesus. For you see, the SAME GLORY that Almighty God the Father GAVE to His Elect or chosen one, Jesus, Jesus has GIVEN to us, the ELECT, as a promise, according to John 17:22. Back to Jesus FINISHING the WORK of Yahweh. According to Isaiah 28:16, Yahweh LAID the chief cornerstone of His temple, the church. And the ANOINTED Son of MAN, Jesus, was given the task to FINISH this work of Yahweh’s church, called the City of Zion.
Please read Zechariah 6:12,13.
“And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the MAN whose name is The BRANCH; (And Jesus is the MAN whose name is the Branch according to the prophecies in Isaiah 11:1-5, Jeremiah 23:5,6, Jeremiah 33:15,16, and Zechariah 3:1-10) and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall BUILD (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) the temple of the LORD: 13. Even he shall build (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) the temple of the LORD; AND he shall bear the glory, (Or he shall accept, obtain, or receive the glory) and shall SIT and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.”
Here is another prophecy of Jesus being the builder of the CITY of Yahweh.
Isaiah 45:12,13.
“I (Yahweh) have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. 13. I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build My city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, says the LORD of hosts.”
Now, King David is a FIGURE of Jesus, and the prophecies that God gave to King David to PROCLAIM are PROPHECIES of Jesus. Here is one of those prophecies.
Psalm 132: 11-14.
“The LORD has sworn in TRUTH unto David; He will not turn from it; Of the fruit of your body will I SET upon your throne. (And the fruit of the loins of King David that Yahweh SET as His King is Jesus) 12. If your children (Speaking of the ELECT, with whosoever of all who BELIEVE in Jesus as their Lord and Savior who) will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall ALSO sit upon your throne for evermore. 13. For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation. 14. This is My REST forever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.”
The word rest does not mean Yahweh desired a vacation or that He NEEDS a rest. Rather, the word rest means that God can be at PEACE knowing that His CHOOSING Zion will put an END to the WAR that the FALLEN gods waged against His throne. It is kind of like the prosecuting attorney RESTING his case TRUSTING that all of the EVIDENCE he presented is more than enough to bring about a GUILTY as charged verdict. So then, Yahweh the Creator is doing a NEW THING that He has never done before. He is CREATING a PEOPLE to DWELL in, for the purpose of JUDGING Satan and the fallen Elohim. And His FIRSTBORN Son is the FIRST of Yahweh’s CREATION to DWELL IN. In chapter 10 called “C101-10 Yahweh CREATED His Son Jesus!”, I will cover the verses of Scripture that clearly teach us that Yahweh CREATED His Son who was given the name Jesus BEFORE he was CONCEIVED in the womb of the Virgin Mary.
