C101-12. The NAME of the Messiah’s MOTHER in Prophecy! DOWNLOAD to SAVE as a PDF Doc to read OFFLINE. C101-12. The NAME of the Messiah’s MOTHER in Prophecy! Chapter 12. Was the NAME Mary, the Mother of the Messiah, PROPHESIED in the Scriptures? In other words, do any of the passages of Scripture with the Hebrew name Miriam foreshadow the BIRTH of the Messiah. Yes, I believe that Miriam, the sister of Moses is a FIGURE of the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus who we know is the Messiah prophesied to come. In chapter 11, I gave a list of prophecies of the coming of the Messiah. And under list number five called #5. Prophecies of the Messiah being born of a woman NAMED MIRIAM, I listed the following Scripture references, Numbers 12:5-15, Micah 6:4-9, Matthew 1:6-20, Matthew 2:11, and Luke 1:27-56. Obviously, the Scriptures in the New Testament are quite clear that the NAME of the mother of Jesus is Mary. Also, I said that some prophecies concerning the Messiah are not as obvious and some other prophecies of Jesus and this is one of those NOT so obvious prophecies. Most Christians know and understand that the Hebrew name Mariam is equivalent to the name Mary. We see other names like Elias in the New Testament and we know and understand that it is the SAME name as Elijah in the Old Testament Scriptures. The name Noe in the New Testament is the same name as Noah in the Old Testament. And in the same way, the name Mary is the SAME NAME as Miriam in the Old Testament. With that being said, let us take a CLOSER look at the Scriptures with the name Miriam in them to see if any of them FORESHADOW the birth of the Messiah. Let us begin with Numbers 12:4-15, but I want to take one or two verses at a time and compare it or them to Scriptures in the New Testament so that you can see the hidden PROPHECIES in the Old Testament Scriptures. Numbers 12:4,5. “And the LORD spoke suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out you three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out. (Moses is a FIGURE of Jesus. Aaron is a FIGURE of the Holy Spirit, the HELPER of Jesus. Aaron is also a figure of the church, the brethren of Jesus. And Aaron is ALSO a figure of Joseph, Mary’s husband. I will explain why I say that when we get to verses 10-12. And Miriam is a FIGURE of the mother of Jesus even though Miriam is not the BIOLOGICAL mother of Moses. Again, I will explain why further down. And the tabernacle is a figure of the WOMB of the Virgin Mary) 5. And the LORD came down in the pillar of the CLOUD, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and CALLED Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.” The pillar of the CLOUD speaks of the Holy Spirit OVERSHADOWING the WOMB of the Virgin Mary in Luke chapter 1. Also, the name Miriam means rebellious and we can see a little rebellion or doubt in the Virgin Mary at first when she asked the Angel Gabriel HOW can this be seeing I have never laid with a man? Please read Luke 1:4,5. “Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35. And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon you, and the POWER of the Highest shall OVERSHADOW you: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of you shall be called (Which also means to BID. In other words, he shall be bidden or invited to become) the Son of God.” Now, the visual picture of what the word “overshadow” looks like when the Holy Spirit overshadows a person can be seen in the description of the vision of Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration. Please read Matthew 17:5. “While he was still speaking, behold, a BRIGHT CLOUD overshadowed them: (Or a pillar of the CLOUD of Yahweh’s glory covered them) and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear you him.” So then, I submit to you that when the VOICE of Yahweh CALLED Moses, Aaron, and Miriam to come OUT into the tabernacle, Yahweh was PROPHESYING or CALLING things that were not yet as though they were. And thus, the pillar of the cloud that STOOD at the DOOR of the TABERNACLE represents the Holy Spirit OVERSHADOWING the WOMB of the Virgin Mary to CONCEIVE the CHILD to be BORN to become the Savior of the world. In other words, this is a hidden PROPHECY of the Messiah being conceived in the womb. Let us continue reading Numbers 12:6-9 and I will place my interpretation in parentheses. Numbers 12:5-9. “And he said, Hear you now My words: (Or DISCERN what I am saying to you or PROPHESYING to you) IF (Or WHEN) there is a prophet among you, I the LORD will make Myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. (And Yahweh made Himself known to His Messiah in VISIONS, in dreams, through the Holy Spirit VISITING him morning by morning as a child, and after his baptism, through His Holy Spirit dwelling in him) 7. My servant Moses is NOT so, (Or Moses is NOT that Prophet) who is faithful in all My house. (Or he who will be faithful to do all My Will) 8. With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the SIMILITUDE of the LORD shall he behold: (Or the IMAGE of Yahweh shall he SCAN. In other words, in the IMAGE of Yahweh he shall be made) wherefore, then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses? (Or WHY were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses to your brother Aaron, Miriam?) 9. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and He departed.” The pronoun “them” was added by the translators and I believe the pronoun should be “her” instead of them. For you see, it was only Miriam who was struck with leprosy and not both Miriam and Aaron. When you read Numbers 12:2 as Miriam speaking to Aaron about Moses marrying an Ethiopian woman, then verse 2 makes more sense. For you see, in verse 2, Miriam is clearly speaking TO Aaron. Let us read both verses and I will more correctly translate verse 1. Numbers 12:1-3. “And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses (Or more correctly translated, and Miriam spoke TO Aaron against Moses) because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. 2. And they said, (Or more correctly, SHE said) Has the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? Has He not spoken also by us? (Or has He not spoken by ME) And the LORD heard it. (According to Exodus 7:1,2, Aaron was a prophet to Moses. In other words, Yahweh spoke to Moses and THEN Moses spoke what Yahweh spoke to him to Aaron. So Aaron did NOT directly hear from Yahweh. And thus, Miriam is the prophetess who heard from Yahweh, according to Exodus 15:20,21. And again, ONLY Miriam was struck with leprosy and NOT Aaron) 3. (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)” In other words, verse 3 is saying take heed to NOT judge another servant of God, for you do not know the PLANS that God may have for them. They may not be who YOU would have picked, but God has His reasons for who He places in different positions in the body of Jesus Christ. Now that you have the picture of Miriam foreshadowing the child being CONCEIVED in the womb of the Virgin Mary, let us continue reading Numbers 12:9-15. Numbers 12:9-15. “And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; (Or more correctly the anger of Yahweh was kindled against HER, speaking of Mariam) and he departed. 10. And the CLOUD departed from off the TABERNACLE; (Or the CLOUD of glory overshadowing the WOMB of the Virgin Mary departed off of her womb) and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous. (Or and Joseph looked upon Mary and her countenance was as bright as the white of snow. Here we see Aaron as a FIGURE of Joseph) 11. And Aaron said unto Moses, (Or Joseph prayed to Yahweh about the baby Jesus in the womb of Mary) Alas, my lord, I beseech you, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned. (The sin of Joseph was he doubted at first that his fiance was conceived OF the Holy Spirit. And Mary’s sin was that she doubted at first that it could be possible for her to have a child without a human man conceiving the child) 12. Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother's womb. (In other words, under the Law of Moses, a woman caught in fornication is to be stoned to DEATH. And the phrase “the flesh half consumed” is referring to the child AFTER he came out of his MOTHER’S womb. The Hebrew word translated as half also means the MIDDLE. And the MIDDLE part of the body of Jesus was torn to shreds by the Roman soldiers SCOURGE with a whip) 13. And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech you. (And, according to John 19:26,27, Jesus prayed for his mother to be taken care of by his disciple John) 14. And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed for seven days? Let her be shut out from the camp for seven days, and after that let her be received in again. 15. And Miriam was shut out from the camp for seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.” The people of God did not believe at first that Jesus was conceived in Mary’s womb by the power of God. And thus, the people could not journey into the New Covenant until they received or believed in the virgin birth of Jesus. The Hebrew word translated as leprous also means to SCOURGE. And one of the meanings of scourge is VISITATION. So in Miriam’s case the visitation of Yahweh was not pleasant at first. But Yahweh’s visitation to the Virgin Mary was a BLESSING, and people will say, blessed is the FRUIT of your WOMB, according to the prophecy in Luke 1:41-55. So then, HOW does Miriam foreshadow being the MOTHER of Jesus? For you see, Miriam is the SISTER of Moses and NOT the mother of Moses. I pondered that myself when I first began seeing that Miriam could very well be a PROPHECY of the NAME of the mother of Jesus. And the Holy Spirit led me to Exodus 2:10. But before we read that verse please consider the PROPHECY given by Mary in Luke 1:46-55 and Miriam being a prophetess, according to Exodus 15:20,21 who sang PRAISED to Yahweh for His triumphing gloriously over His enemies. Exodus 2:10. “And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.” I thought, wait a minute, Pharaoh’s daughter NAMED Moses? How can that be right? Then I read some more context and saw that it was Miriam, who NAMED Moses. We have no idea if Moses even had a name before his biological mother put him in the ark to float away in the river. The baby was around three months old at that time. And being hidden and kept secret, it may very well be that Jochebed did NOT name her baby boy knowing that she would have to give him up to be slain by Pharoah. And to me, it makes no sense for an Egyptian woman to NAME a baby with a Hebrew NAME that she wants to be her own baby. Let us read the context and see if you see what I am seeing. I will point some things out to you in my comments in parentheses. The words I place in green type are NOT in the original text. Exodus 2:1-10. “And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) a daughter of Levi. (So you have to wonder WHY this hidden prophecy did not specifically say WIFE, but rather, just said a DAUGHTER of Levi. And also notice that the untranslated Aleph Tav is in front of the word daughter) 2. And the woman conceived, and bore a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him for three months. (So then, a DAUGHTER of Levi CONCEIVED and hid her son for three months) 3. And when she could no longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink. 4. And his sister (Speaking of Miriam, the sister of the baby in the ark that the DAUGHTER of Levi who placed her baby in the ark) stood afar off, to know what would be done to him. (In other words, it may very well be that Miriam’s mother, Jochebed, instructed her DAUGHTER to build an ark to carry the baby to safety. And it was Miriam who watched the ark float away. Nonetheless, Miriam was there or close by watching. So it was Miriam who wanted to know what would become of the baby. And it was Miriam who followed the ark down the river to where it came ashore by where Pharaoh's daughter came every day to wash. So Miriam, being a servant maid, ran ahead to come out with Pharaoh's daughter like she had done in the past) 5. And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it. (So then, it was the MAID who DREW the baby out of the water and NOT Pharaoh’s daughter. In other words, Miriam drew her baby brother out of the water) 6. And when she (Perhaps Pharaoh’s daughter, but most likely, it could have been Miriam who) had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children. (How would Pharaoh's daughter know the baby was a Hebrew baby?) 7. Then his sister said (Speaking of the baby’s sister named MARIAM said) to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call for you a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) child for you? 8. And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid (Mariam) went and called the child's (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) mother. (Or the MAID exercised HERSELF and PROCLAIMED herself as the child’s (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) MOTHER) 9. And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give you your wages. And the woman (Which also means an adulterer, as in, a woman that polluted or corrupted the truth with a little white lie to save her brother) took the child, and nursed it. 10. And the child grew, and she (Speaking of Miriam, the baby’s sister) brought him (The unnamed baby) unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she (The MAID named Miriam, that daughter of Pharaoh SENT to DRAW the ark out of the water) called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.” The name Moses is a Hebrew name which means drawing out of the WATER. So again, why would an Egyptian give the baby a Hebrew name? It is more likely that Miriam, the baby’s sister and foster mother named him Moses. Now, the prophetic meaning of the word “water” means PEOPLE, according to Revelation 17:15. And it is Jesus who shall DRAW the righteous people out of the water of Egypt, which is a figure of the people of the WORLD, according to Revelation 11:8. Another clue that the NAME of Mary was prophesied in the Old Testament is that her FIRSTBORN son was given as an offering that PLEASED Yahweh, according to Micah 6:7. Shall I give my firstborn, the fruit of my body? And finally, there is yet another hidden prophecy in the Hebrew word that is translated as VIRGIN in Isaiah 7:14. The Hebrew word “almah” which is translated as virgin ALSO means MAID, as in, the maid Miriam who helped her mother keep the baby hidden from being slain. And the Hebrew word “almah” is from the Hebrew word “elem”, Strong’s number H5058, which means hidden out of sight, that is, a lad or a young man is kept out of sight.
