In part 1 of this study we covered all of the 10 verses of Scripture from Genesis 2:1-3 to Psalm 19:7 that are used to try and prove that Christians MUST keep the seventh DAY of every week and a day of rest lest a Christian sins. If I missed one please let me know but most likely any Scripture that I may have missed is simply a repetitive argument that I have already covered. And here in part 2 we will try to cover the rest of the Old Testament Scriptures that are used to try and prove that the keeping of the WEEKLY Sabbath DAY is binding on Christians. So then, let us begin part 2 of this study in God’s word with weekly Sabbath DAY argument number 11 which is Psalm 40:8. And as you read the CONTEXT of these verses of Scripture you will find that they actually prove that keeping the weekly Sabbath DAY is AGAINST the Will of Almighty God because His Will is that we keep the TRUE MEANING of why the keeping of a 24 hour DAY was given in the first place. Weekly Sabbath DAY argument #11. Psalm 40:8. All seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping Christians use the argument that since Jesus is our example to FOLLOW and Jesus KEPT ALL the Law of Moses then that means, to THEM, that Christians must also keep all the Law of Moses as well. And one of the verses that they use is Psalm 40:8 which is a prophecy of Jesus saying that the law is within his heart. Therefore, they conclude that since Jesus kept the weekly Sabbath day then so must Christians keep the weekly Sabbath day. Sound Biblical answer to weekly Sabbath DAY argument #11. As always, they have taken yet another verse of Scripture out of its context and have twisted its true meaning. As you will see they have taken Psalm 40:8 OUT of ITS CONTEXT to make the law and the WILL of God to be about the keeping of a 24 hour DAY of rest. But, in truth, this passage of Scripture is a PROPHECY about a future law of RIGHTEOUSNESS in Jesus being written in our hearts that we are to be keeping as opposed to keeping a DAY of the week Holy. Let us go ahead and read the context of Psalm 40:8. Psalm 40:6-10. “Sacrifice and offering You did NOT desire; my ears have You opened: burnt offering and sin offering have You NOT required. 7. Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of ME, (In other words, the prophets AND the law of commandments CONTAINED in ORDINANCES TESTIFY of Jesus and the New PERPETUAL Covenant establish in his shed blood as being the ULTIMATE end of the Will of Almighty God. And God OPENED the ear of the child Jesus to understand the Will of his God and Father to die on the cross without spot or blemish to establish the New PERPETUAL Covenant) 8. I delight to do Your Will, O my God: yea, Your law is within my heart. (WHAT law? God’s law of Christ, the END of the Old Testament law for RIGHTEOUSNESS) 9. I have preached RIGHTEOUSNESS in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, You know. 10. I have not hid YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS within my HEART; (Speaking of Jesus being the END of the law for righteousness, according to Romans 10:2-11) I have DECLARED Your faithfulness and Your SALVATION: I have not concealed Your loving kindness and Your TRUTH from the great congregation.” Galatians 6:2. “Bear you one another's burdens, and so FULFILL the law of Christ.” The law is FULFILLED in ONE word, LOVE. Galatians 5:14. “For ALL the law is FULFILLED in ONE word, even in this; You shall LOVE your neighbor as yourself.”
And thus, Psalm 40:8 does NOT prove that Christians must keep the weekly Sabbath DAY or any other DAY of the week, month or year in order to please God. In fact, Paul was in fear FOR those Christians who observed DAYS to esteem one day above other days, according to Romans 14:5, Galatians 4:10, and Colossians 4:14-17. Paul says that they are weak in their faith and they are preaching a perverted gospel. Weekly Sabbath DAY argument #12. Psalm 89:34. Some seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping Christians use Psalm 89:34 to try and prove that God will not ALTER or change His FIRST covenant written in the Old Testament. They then quote Psalm 89:31,32 to show that anyone who breaks God’s covenant will be punished. And God’s covenant, to THEM, is the keeping of the weekly Sabbath DAY as a day of rest. Let us read Psalm 89:34 first and then read verses 31 and 32. “34. My covenant will I not break, nor ALTER the thing that is gone out of my lips… … 31. If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments; 32. Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.” Sound Biblical answer to weekly Sabbath DAY argument #12. First of all, the context is talking about the WRATH of God coming upon the children of Israel for rejecting God’s NEW Covenant. And thus, Sabbath-keeping Christians are reading INTO the text that the covenant is referring to the first covenant under the Law of Moses. And they do that because they NEED “the covenant” in this verse of Scripture to be the Old Covenant because they know full well that the keeping of the weekly Sabbath DAY is NOT taught in the New Testament under the New Covenant. Let us read some of the context so you can see that it is the New Covenant that God will NOT ALTER and that we are to keep the TWO commandments that God gives to us under the New Covenant that do NOT command us to keep the weekly Sabbath DAY to rest for 24 hours on Saturday every week for the rest of our lives lest we sin. Please read Psalm 89:3,27-45. “3. I have made a COVENANT WITH my chosen, (Speaking of David as being a FIGURE OF Jesus) I have sworn unto David (Or more precisely, Yahweh has spoken to Jesus) my servant,... ...27. Also, I will make him (Jesus) my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. (This is a prophecy of Jesus, the FIRSTBORN of every creature from the DEAD to be made in the IMAGE of God being highly exalted after the cross to be made Lord and the King of kings) 28. My mercy will I keep FOR (Or with) him (Or because of him speaking of Jesus) for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. (In other words, God CONCLUDED all of the children of Israel in unbelief SO THAT he might show forth His MERCY by FAITH in the shed blood of Jesus to establish God’s NEW Covenant that will stand fast in Jesus, His firstborn from the dead, the firstborn among many brethren) 29. His seed (Then many brethren of Jesus created by God as new creatures IN Jesus Christ) also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven. 30. If his children forsake my law, (Speaking about God’s new law of LIBERTY IN Jesus Christ under the New Covenant and if any Christian forsakes God's law of LIBERTY) and walk not in my judgments; (A judgment is a VERDICT and the verdict of God is that Jesus is the END of the law for RIGHTEOUSNESS. And we are to obey the law of Christ, the law of liberty because THAT is the law that we will be JUDGED by, according to James 2:12) 31. If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments; (Speaking of the statutes or ordinances and the TWO commandments under the New Covenant written in the New Testament. The word “statutes” is synonymous with ordinances. The Hebrew word translated as “statutes” also means ordinances) 32. Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, (Speaking of the rod of iron, the WRATH of God that will be execute on the unsaved Jews, the unsaved Gentiles and upon the disobedient children of Jesus that disobey God’s NEW Covenant) and their iniquity with stripes. 33. Nevertheless, my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail. (In other words, God will have mercy and lift His wrath lest He does not leave himself a REMNANT of the children of Israel that He promised to turn AGAIN a SECOND time in Isaiah 11:11,12) 34. My covenant (As in, my New Covenant that God made with His chosen one, Jesus) will I not break, nor alter the THING that is gone out of my lips. (Also, the THING that is gone out of the LIPS of Yahweh is God’s NEW THINGS prophesied in Isaiah 42:9, 43:19, 48:6, and Jeremiah 31:32 which was fulfilled in Luke 1:35 as the Holy THING conceived or CREATED by God in the womb of a woman) 35. Once (Or ONE) have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David. (Or the ONE, that Holy THING I created in the womb of a woman for HOLINESS of me I will not lie to Jesus) 36. His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me. 37. It (Or he, Yahweh’s New PERPETUAL Covenant established in the shed blood of Jesus) shall be established forever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah. (And Jesus is the first true and faithful WITNESS against Satan and the fallen angels. Jesus is the FIRST BORN among many brethren, the BEGINNING of the CREATION of God that God PROPHESIED to create in the FUTURE speaking of God’s NEW creation of righteous people IN Jesus Christ for holiness. Please read Psalm 102:18.“This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.” So to me, without a doubt, Psalm 89:34 is speaking of God’s NEW Covenant that He will not ALTER or change. And the rest of the context proves this as well because the Jews REJECTED the NEW Covenant by their KEEPING of the Old Covenant. And that includes those in Jesus who desire to be under the Old Covenant) 38. But you have cast off and abhorred, (Or you have rejected by melting away and making the teachings in the New Covenant disappear because you despise them) you have been wroth with your anointed. (Speaking of Jesus. The word translated as “wroth” means to cover Jesus, to convey over or above Jesus, and to do away with what Jesus did FOR you which is abolishing the handwriting of ordinances contained in the Law of Moses to set you FREE from that yoke of BONDAGE) 39. You have made VOID (Or in VAIN) the COVENANT of your servant: (Jesus the ANOINTED) you have profaned his crown by casting it to the ground. 40. You have broken down all his hedges; (Or you have broken out of his fence for his sheep. In other words, you have separated yourselves from his other sheep) you have brought his strong holds to ruin. (Or you convey or communicate a message of ruin and destruction to his strongholds, and his brethren, the church that follows his TRUE message of the gospel) 41. All who pass by the WAY spoil him: (Or all that CROSS OVER or go beyond the WAY, the truth, and the life, PLUNDER Jesus) he is a reproach to his neighbors. 42. You have set up the right hand of his adversaries; you have made all his enemies to rejoice. (Basically, you are on the SIDE of Satan teaching doctrines of devils, according to 1 Timothy 3:1-6) 43. You have also turned the edge of his sword, and have not made him to stand in the battle. (In other words, you have removed yourself from his protection against Satan) 44. You have made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground. 45. The days of his youth have you shortened:(Or what Jesus did for you on the cross during the days of his flesh you have cut down and grieved) you have covered him with shame. Selah.” Selah means to pause and think on this. If you cannot see that by your KEEPING what Jesus ABOLISHED and NAILED to the cross is covering Jesus with SHAME, causing his glory to cease, making his enemy Satan REJOICE, then I pray that God opens your eyes to the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God to keep God’s NEW PERPETUAL Covenant established in the shed blood of Jesus. Stop carrying over the Law of Moses into the New Covenant. STAY in the New Testament for your SALVATION! For every thing that is needed to be saved and to receive eternal life is found in the New Testament under the New Covenant. Do NOT make VOID the New Covenant by your keeping the things written in the Old Testament under the Old Covenant. KNOW and understand that we ARE keeping the fourth commandment BY our FAITH in Jesus as the TRUE MEANING of why the keeping of the seventh DAY of the WEEK was given in the first place. Jesus IS our TRUE Sabbath REST. Please read the in-depth study Dd-13. Is JESUS OUR TRUE SABBATH REST? Weekly Sabbath DAY argument #13. Proverbs 28:9. All of the seventh DAY of the week Sabbath-keeping Christians use Proverbs to teach that anyone who turns away from KEEPING the law, then that person's prayers are an abomination to God. Sound Biblical answer to weekly Sabbath DAY argument #13. But what is the TRUE Sound Biblical meaning of Proverbs 28:9? We all agree that the book of Proverbs is filled with PROPHECIES of Jesus. And we all agree that the Hebrew word that is translated as the word “law” in most verses in the Old Testament of the Hebrew word “TORAH”. And what is the “TORAH”? The Torah is the first five books of the Bible that were written by Moses. And did not Jesus say to the unbelieving Jews that if they believe Moses then why do not they believe in Jesus? Please read John 5:44-47. “How can you believe, which receives honor one of another, and seeks not the honor that comes from God only? 45. Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuses you, even Moses, in whom you trust. 46. For had you believed Moses, you would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47. But if you believe not his writings, how shall you believe my words?”
Now read the context of Proverbs 28:9 and pay attention to what it is actually saying. It does NOT say that anyone who turns away from KEEPING Torah. But rather, it says anyone who turns away from HEARING Torah.
Proverbs 28:8-14.
“He that by usury and unjust gain increases his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor. (Some preachers prey on Christians that pity to poor to receive tithes and offering from them so that they can line their own pockets with unjust gain. I only say this because when some church denominations focus on how much money they receive then the love of money makes it hard to admit that they have not been teaching sound Biblical doctrine when God opens their eyes to the truth. Their pride and fear hinders them from repenting and changing what they teach that they now know contradicts what the Bible itself teaches. With that in mind, let us continue reading the rest of the context of verse 9 to learn its true meaning) 9. He that turns away his EAR from HEARING the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. (In other words, he that REJECTS the HEARING of the TORAH then even his prayer is an abomination to God. Again, the TORAH is the first five books of the Bible that are filled will PROPHECIES that TESTIFY of Jesus. And anyone who turns their EAR from HEARING the teachings in the Torah about Jesus even their prayers will be an abomination to God. The word translated as “hearing” the Torah means understanding OUT of the first five books of the Bible. It means the REASON OF what is written in the Torah, as in, WHAT DO the prophecies in the first five books of the Bible teach us?) 10. Whoso causes the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: (The word “evil” in the Bible does not always mean wickedness. Remember the 12 spies? Only two spies believed God and came back with a GOOD report while the other 10 spies came back with and EVIL report. God said GO and posses the land and the EVIL report said the exact opposite of what God says, we can NOT possess the land. So then, to cause the righteous to be deceived to go in or to follow in an “evil WAY” means to cause the righteous to follow a perverted gospel that is NOT the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE) but the upright shall have good things in possession. 11. The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that has understanding searches him out. (Or the poor have an understanding of the TRUTH because they have searched out what the preachers after filthy lucre teach in their own conceit and those church doctrines are FALSE teachings. Conceit means pride in what a person sees in their own eyes as being the truth but it is actually in VAIN. They have turned the truth into a lie) 12. When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden. (Or when the wicked rear up again with their perverted gospel a man is to SEEK out and understand that what the wicked teach is their own conceit VAIN teaching) 13. He that covers his sins shall not prosper: (Or he that tries to cover up what they know contradicts the word of God by trying to explain away verses of Scripture will not prosper in the riches of God) but whoso confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy. 14. Happy is the man that fears always: but he that hardens his heart shall fall into mischief.”
Now let us read Galatians 4:19-31 where Paul asks the Judaizing Christians the question, “Do you not HEAR the law?” Or do you not UNDERSTAND what the TORAH is teaching us?
Galatians 4:19-29.
“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, (Remember that Paul is referring to the Judaizing Christians that he is making intercessory prayer for until the TRUTH of Jesus Christ be formed in them once again) 20. I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you. (Paul is wondering if his preaching the true gospel to them was in VAIN because they DESIRE to be UNDER the law) 21. Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, do you NOT HEAR the law? (Again, this is exactly what Proverbs 28:9 is teaching. Paul is saying to the Judaizing Christians, do you not HEAR and understand what the TORAH, the first five books of the Bible is teaching us?) 22. For it is written, (In the LAW, as in, in the TORAH, the first five books of the Bible) that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. (The Judaizing Christians, the seventh DAY of the WEEK Sabbath-keeping Christians are causing or subverting the RIGHTEOUS Christians to go in an EVIL WAY or to follow a perverted gospel of keeping of DAYS and being mandatory lest a Christian sins) 23. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. 24. Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which genders to bondage, which is Agar. 25. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answers to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. 26. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. 27. For it is written, Rejoice, you barren that bear not; break forth and cry, you that travail not: for the desolate have many more children than she who has a husband. 28. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. (In other words, we as Christians are under the New Covenant of FREEDOM from keeping the ORDINANCES that Jesus abolished and NAILED to the cross. And thus, we are NOT under the Old Covenant of BONDAGE to keep DAYS as being Holy. And we are NOT under the dietary laws of Moses either. For we know what the DAYS and the dietary laws are a SHADOW of) 29. But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. (Sabbath-keeping Christians persecute us who know the TRUTH by judging us as sinners and even as not being true Christians. They persecute or TROUBLE the minds of weak Christians who they converted to live in fear wondering if they are good enough to be accounted as worthy enough to receive eternal life in the world to come) 30. Nevertheless, what says the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the free woman. (This is why Paul is so relentless in his WARNING the Judaizing Christians that they are TWISTING the Scriptures to their OWN DESTRUCTION) 31. So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.”
So again, Proverbs 28:9 does NOT teach us that we who are NOT KEEPING the LAW under the Old Covenant are going astray from God. But rather, Proverbs 28:9 actually teaches us that those who are not HEARING the TRUTH written in the TORAH, the first five books that PROPHECY of JESUS as to WHO we are to OBEY are the ones LEADING the RIGHTEOUS to follow an EVIL WAY, a perverted gospel of COMBINING the keeping of BOTH covenants at the same time.
Weekly Sabbath DAY argument #14. Ecclesiastes 12:13,14.
All seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping Christians argue that the WHOLE duty of man is to OBEY the commandment of God. Some Sabbath-keeping Christians interpret Ecclesiastes 12:13,14 to mean that the WHOLE duty of man is to keep ALL of the Law of Moses. And the SDA Sabbath-keeping Christians interpret this verse to mean that the WHOLE duty of man is to keep ALL ten of the TEN Commandments including the keeping of the seventh DAY of the WEEK as a DAY of rest lest a Christian sins.
Sound Biblical answer to weekly Sabbath DAY argument #14.
But what does the Bible ITSELF teach us? Let us read Ecclesiastes 12:12,13 in its context to learn its true sound Biblical meaning. Keep in mind that all of the seventh DAY of the WEEK Sabbath-keeping Christians INTERPRET the whole duty of man boils down to keeping the weekly Sabbath DAY and the TEN Commandments. Again, some, if not most Sabbath-keeping Christians argue that keeping the Law of Moses is the whole duty of man. But what does the Bible ITSELF teach us is the WHOLE duty of man?
Please read Ecclesiastes 12:8-14.
“Vanity of vanities, says the preacher; all is vanity. (Or VAIN teaching of VAIN teachers says the preacher of the TRUTH. ALL is VAIN teaching that the preacher of the truth is hearing from others) 9. And moreover, because the preacher was WISE, he still taught (Or the wise preacher taught in continuance still more and more) the (H853 Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) people KNOWLEDGE; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs. (Or the wise preacher gave heed to the Holy Spirit and sought out the TRUTH in God’s word and set in order the pithy or forceful vain teaching to correct the errors of their interpretation of the Scriptures) 10. The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth. (Or the wise preacher sought to find out the words of truth that agree with the whole word of God) 11. The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from ONE shepherd. 12. And further, by these, (Words written in the Scriptures that are set in order correctly to teach the TRUTH of the whole word of God) my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. 13. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear (H853 Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) God, and keep his commandments: (Under the New Covenant written in the New Testament) for THIS IS the WHOLE duty of man. 14. For God shall bring every (H853 Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
So then, the WHOLE duty of man is to BELIEVE in Jesus to be saved and then OBEY the TWO commandments of Jesus under the New Covenant written in the New Testament. Some of you may be wondering what (H853 Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) means. The H853 is Strong’s number for the two Hebrew letters called the Aleph and the Tav. The Aleph and the Tav are the FIRST and the LAST letters of the Hebrew alphabet like the Alpha and Omega are the FIRST and the LAST letters of the Greek alphabet. Jesus said that he IS the FIRST and the LAST, the BEGINNING and the END. And Jesus also said that the Scriptures TESTIFY of him. So to me, the untranslated Aleph and Tav testify of Messiah Jesus. Almighty God the Father commands us to honor His Son, Jesus, even as we honor the Father. And that means we are to fear Jesus in a REVERENT fear of honor and respect to obey the commandments of Jesus written in the New Testament under the New Covenant which is PROPHESIED as being the WHOLE duty of man in Ecclesiastes 12:8-14. And thus, to me, Ecclesiastes does NOT prove that the keeping of the weekly Sabbath DAY is binding on Christians.
Weekly Sabbath DAY argument #15. Isaiah 42:21.
All seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping Christians use Isaiah 42:21 to argue that Jesus could have not possibly abolished and nailed to the cross the WEEKLY Sabbath DAYS. For they interpret Isaiah 42:21 as a prophecy that when Jesus came he would MAGNIFY the law and make the law HONORABLE.
Sound Biblical answer to weekly Sabbath DAY argument #15.
First of all, Isaiah 42:21 says “law” and not just the TEN Commandments. And that means that IF the Hebrew words translated as “MAGNIFY” and make “HONORABLE” are the “INTENDED” meanings then Isaiah prophesied to make ALL of the Law of Moses to be MAGNIFIED and made HONORABLE and NOT just the TEN Commandments. The Sabbath-keeping interpretation of magnify and make honorable is to stiffen and establish the Law of Moses as being ABLE to be kept. But what does the Bible ITSELF teach us? The Hebrew words that are translated and “magnify” and make “honorable” also means to “TWIST” and to “EXPAND”. And to twist the Scriptures openly has a negative meaning. But the word “twist” also means to turn around, as in, to rotate to be able to see all sides which is a positive meaning. And the word “expand” also means to give a FULLER MEANING of something that is also a positive meaning. So then, to magnify the law means to make something larger so that you can see the fine details that you would otherwise not see. And to me, that is the TRUE SOUND Biblical meaning of Isaiah 42:21 because the CONTEXT speaks of the BLIND who see but do not UNDERSTAND. In other words, Jesus came to EXPLAIN the law that TESTIFIES of him as being the Messiah, the one prophesied to come.
Please read Isaiah 42:18-23.
“Hear, you deaf; and look, you blind, that you may SEE. 19. Who is blind, but my servant? Or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? Who is blind as he that is perfect, (Or as blind as one already made perfect and complete IN Jesus) and blind as the LORD'S servant? (So this is talking about true born again Christians as being BLIND and DEAF to the word of TRUTH by being DECEIVED by false teaching) 20. Seeing many things, but you OBSERVE NOT; (Or you see the Scriptures but you do NOT DISCERN them correctly to know their TRUE meaning) opening the ears, but he hears not. (Or you listen to the word being taught to you but you do not receive the TRUTH. And here is the TRUTH) 21. The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; (Or Yahweh is well pleased and satisfied on account of the RIGHTEOUSNESS of His Son, Jesus) he will magnify the law, and make it honorable. (Or Jesus will blow up the law and expound the Scriptures beginning at Moses and all the prophets that speak of him, according to Luke 24:27) 22. But this is a people (Speaking of the BLIND Christians that are deceived by a perverted gospel) robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: (Or they are hid in prison houses or they are snared in bondage by what that they sincerely believe is the truth) they are for a prey, and none delivers; for a spoil, and none says, Restore. (Turn back, retreat, and come home again, as in, come back to the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ under the New Covenant written in the New Testament) 23. Who among you will give ear to this? Who will hearken and hear for the time to come?”
So then, to me, Isaiah 42:21 does NOT prove that Jesus established the keeping of the WEEKLY Sabbath DAY as an eternal commandment as the Sabbath-keeping Christians CLAIM.
Weekly Sabbath DAY argument #16. Isaiah 56:2, Isaiah 58:13, and Isaiah 66:22,23.
All of the seventh DAY of the week Sabbath-keeping Christians argue that the keeping of the WEEKLY Sabbath DAY will continue to be kept even in the New heavens and the New earth after the 1000 year reign of Jesus has ended in the world to come. And then, according to their interpretation of the above three verses of Scripture, they argue that it makes no sense for God to abolish the keeping of the weekly Sabbath during the age of the church and then not abolish it during the world to come. And thus they argue that God will even continue his command to keep the seventh DAY of every week as a DAY of rest throughout all the eternity future in the new heavens and the new earth that God will create after the 1000 years has ended.
Sound Biblical answer to weekly Sabbath DAY argument #16.
But what does the Bible ITSELF teach us when these verses of Scripture are kept IN the CONTEXT and they are correctly interpreted in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God? We will closely examine Isaiah 56:2, Isaiah 58:13, and Isaiah 66:22,23 in their context taking them one at a time.
Please read Isaiah 56:1-6.
“Thus says the LORD, Keep you JUDGMENT, and do justice: (Judgment means VERDICT and God’s verdict concerning the FOURTH commandment is to keep the TRUE MEANING of why the keeping of the weekly Sabbath DAY was given to the children of Israel in the first place. And to do justice means to keep all of the SIX MORAL laws in the TEN Commandments after keeping the VERDICT of the fourth commandment) for My SALVATION is near to come, and My RIGHTEOUSNESS to be REVEALED. (And clearly, the New Testament teaches us that no man is saved by the works of the law. This verse says is near TO COME and the TEN Commandments had already been given long before the prophet Isaiah. So clearly, Yahweh is talking about His future New Covenant established in the shed blood of Jesus and NOT the Old Covenant that God Himself made vanish away, according to Hebrews 8:13. “In that he says, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decays and waxes old is ready to vanish away.” At that time in history the Old Covenant had not completely vanished away because the Jewish temple had not yet been destroyed until 70 AD) 2. Blessed is the man that does THIS, (Speaking of keeping the VERDICT of the fourth commandment which is to keep the TRUE MEANING of the SIGN of the Sabbath that points to the new PERPETUAL COVENANT) and the son of man that lays hold on it; that keeps the Sabbath from polluting it, and keeps his hand from doing any evil. (This is a PROPHECY of keeping the seventh 1000 year long day of Yahweh’s Sabbath rest without polluting it in the world to come. NOT the keeping of a literal 24 DAY of every week during the Millennial reign of Jesus. But rather, keeping the TRUE MEANING o the SIGN of the weekly Sabbath which is the New PERPETUAL COVENANT to not POLLUTE the NEW Covenant with doing the works of the law contained in ORDINANCES that Jesus abolished and nailed to the cross) 3. Neither let the son of the stranger, that has joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD has utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. (There will be those left alive of the nations along with the remnant of Jews left alive to go into the 1000 year reign of Jesus in their mortal bodies to be taught of the Lord. So the Gentiles in the world to come are not to say that they cannot be saved. The eunuch is the 144,000 sealed of Israel that are VIRGINS or self made eunuchs who do not come at their wives to have sexual intercourse. In other words, they FAST from having sex with their wives so that they can give their time in prayer and fasting to seek Yahweh. And they will witness the rapture of the church and be jealous of what they call the uncircumcised heathen entering into the kingdom BEFORE them. They will weep and mourn but God encourages then to not say that they are lost and without hope) 4. For thus says the LORD unto the eunuchs (The 144,000 remnant of Israel who are virgins by not coming at their wives during the wrath of God, Yahweh is teaching them about JESUS) that keep My (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) Sabbaths, and choose the things that please Me, and take hold of My COVENANT; (Speaking of Yahweh’s NEW PERPETUAL COVENANT that the SIGN of the weekly Sabbath points to) 5. Even unto them will I give in my house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. 6. Also, the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keeps the Sabbath (Again, a prophecy speaking of the seventh 1000 year long day of Yahweh’s Sabbath rest on the world to come) from polluting it, and takes hold of My COVENANT;”
The context at the end of Isaiah chapter 15 teaches us that chapter 16 is about the world to come where there will be no more weeds, briers or thorn bushes. So to me, Isaiah 56:2 does NOT mean profaning the keeping of the WEEKLY Sabbath DAY. But rather, it is a warning to those who enter into the world to come in their MORTAL bodies to NOT profane Yahweh’s NEW Covenant like the unsaved Jews and the Judaizing Christians do. And even if God intends His word to mean the weekly Sabbath DAY this verse still does NOT mean that the keeping of the weekly Sabbath DAY is binding on Christians under the New Covenant written in the New Testament. Now let us closely examine Isaiah 58:13 in its CONTEXT.
Isaiah 58:1-15.
“Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. (Prophetically, this means to show unsaved Israel their transgression of rejecting God’s New Covenant and to also show the saved Judaizing Christians their misses in understanding the truth of the whole word of Almighty God) 2. Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching God. 3. Wherefore, have we fasted, say they, and You see not? Wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and You take no knowledge? (And WHY does Yahweh not accept their way of approaching Him?) Behold, (Or look and see to UNDERSTAND) in the day of your fast you find pleasure, (And HOW do the unsaved Jews AND the Judaizing Christians find pleasure in their works of approaching God?) and EXACT all your labors. (This Hebrew word means to TYRANNIZE others by using your works to boast. In other words, they “BROWBEAT” one another and use INTIMIDATION on each other and on the Christians that KNOW the TRUTH to not keep the LETTER of the law that Jesus nailed to the cross) 4. Behold, you fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: you shall not fast as you do this day, (Speaking of the INCORRECT way that they WERE doing works unto Yahweh. But during the Seventh 1000 year long DAY of Yahweh in the world to come things will be different) to make your voice to be heard on high. 5. Is it such a fast that I have chosen?(NO!) A day for a man to afflict his soul? (NO!) Is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? (NO!) Will you call this a fast, (Their own way of fasting like they were doing in the past) and an ACCEPTABLE DAY to the LORD? (NO!) 6. Is not THIS the fast that I have chosen? (Yahweh is showing them how to fast that is PLEASING to Him. It is the FAST of CEASING from the WORKS of the law contained in ORDINANCES that Jesus ABOLISHED on the cross) to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? (YES! THIS IS the fast that Yahweh has chosen under His New Covenant. Jesus abolished and nailed to the cross every yoke and heavy burden contained in ORDINANCES under the Old Covenant. But the unsaved Jews and some Christians just do not get it. Judaizing Christians desire to be under the law and TEACHERS of the law. But yet they do not UNDERSTAND the TRUE MEANING of why the Law of Moses contained in ordinances was given for them to keep in the first place. And they constantly browbeat other Christians saying that it is imperative to keep the LETTER of the law by keeping DAYS as being Holy) 7. Is it not to deal your bread to the hungry, (YES!) and that you bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? (YES!) When you see the naked, that you cover him; (YES!) and that you hide not yourself from your own flesh? (YES! Meaning to NOT separate yourself from your brothers and sisters in the Lord as if they are not truly saved) 8. Then shall your light break forth as the morning, and your health shall spring forth speedily: and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your reward. 9. Then shall you call, and the LORD shall answer; you shall cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; (In other words, IF you come out from the seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping church and you cast off that YOKE of keeping what Jesus abolished and nailed to the cross and STOP putting your finger in the face of other Christians to speak what is VAIN to God. Then God will hear your cries and see His righteousness IN Jesus) 10. And if You draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light rise in obscurity, and your darkness be as the noonday: 11. And the LORD shall guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and make fat you bones: and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. (Keep in mind that these words are for those in the future who will go into the 1000 year reign of Jesus in their MORTAL bodies to be TAUGHT of the Lord. But Judaizing Christians can benefit from these words by repenting and then keep the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ) 12. And they that shall be of you (Speaking of those left alive in the mortal bodies after the wrath of God is lifted) shall build the old waste places: you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in. (This is talking about the world to come. For you see, during the war right before Jesus returns, there will be much destruction in Israel and in the Middle East that will be rebuilt during the 1000 year reign of Jesus) 13. If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My Holy Day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the Holy of the LORD, honorable; and shall honor him, (This is speaking of Yahweh’s Seventh 1000 year long day of REST during the 1000 year reign of Jesus in the world to come. It is NOT speaking of the weekly Sabbath DAY of) not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words: (Do you remember what PLEASURE that Yahweh is talking about back in verses 3 and 4? If not, let me refresh your memory. Behold, (Or look and see to UNDERSTAND) in the day of your fast you find pleasure, (And HOW do the unsaved Jews AND the Judaizing Christians find pleasure in their works of approaching God?) and EXACT all your labors. (This Hebrew word means to TYRANNIZE others by using your works to boast. Then shall you delight yourself in the LORD; and I will cause you to RIDE upon the high places of the earth, (To me, this is speaking of those being saved DURING the 1000 year reign of Jesus joining us in the city of God that will be in the SKY above the city of Jerusalem) and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father: (Speaking about them receiving their inheritance of eternal life at the END of the 1000 year reign of Jesus) for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.”
So then, to me Isaiah 58:13 does NOT prove that the weekly Sabbath DAY is binding on Christians. Nor does it prove that the weekly Sabbath DAY will be kept DURING the 1000 year reign of Jesus. Let us now take a close look at Isaiah 66:22,23 in its context to learn its true meaning. I will leave it OUT of its CONTEXT first to show you how Sabbath-keeping Christians INTERPRET these two verses of Scripture out of their context.
Isaiah 66:22,23.
“For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, says the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. 23. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, says the LORD.”
Now, the seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping Christians “interpret” these two verses together to mean that the WEEKLY Sabbath DAY will even be kept in the new heavens and the new earth that God will create AFTER the 1000 year reign of Jesus has ended. But when we read these two verses of Scripture left IN their CONTEXT then we can clearly see that there will be NO dead carcasses in the new heavens and the new earth. Please read the CONTEXT of Isaiah 66:22,23.
Isaiah 66:22-24.
“For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, says the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. (So God is talking about the saints of this present world AND those saints who SHALL be saved during the world to come will REMAIN just like the new heavens and the new earth will also REMAIN) 23. AND it shall come to pass, (This indicates that God is starting a new subject or He is going back to another subject BEFORE verse 22. And the context of Isaiah chapter 66 before verse 22 is about the coming of Jesus to execute the wrath of God and then God will extend PEACE to the people left alive after the wrath of God is lifted. And verse 22 is simply COMPARING the saved as REMAINING just like the new heavens and the new earth shall REMAIN. So then, verse 23 picks back up where verses 1-21 left off which is during the 1000 year reign of Jesus) THAT from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, says the LORD. (And the Sabbath here is speaking about the YEARLY Sabbath and NOT the weekly Sabbath day. The reason I say this is because the Gentiles will come up to Jerusalem every YEAR, according to Zechariah 14:16) “And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.” Now, this does NOT mean that they will keep the LITERAL feast DAY from year to year. But rather, it means that each generation as the children grow older the unsaved will go up to Jerusalem to be taught of the lord to be SAVED year after year and even month after month) 24. And they shall go forth, and look (Or have respect) upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: (To me, the wrath of God will be recalled to remembrance throughout every generation during the 1000 year reign of Jesus as a WARNING to not allow the same thing to happen to them by their rejecting Jesus as the Lord and Savior. With the technology of today there may even be video documentation of the wrath of God being poured out for those to watch during the Millennial reign of Jesus as a wake up call to obey the true gospel of Jesus Christ) for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.”
The word “Sabbath” in verse 23 must be INTERPRETED to mean the WEEKLY Sabbath DAY. And then, it must be INTERPRETED that those during the 1000 year reign of Jesus will be KEEPING the weekly Sabbath 24 hour DAY to rest. And, to ME, those “interpretations” do NOT agree with what the New Testament teaches us under the New Covenant that we are to keep the SPIRIT of the law and NOT the LETTER of the law. And therefore, Isaiah 66:22,23 does NOT prove that the keeping of the weekly Sabbath DAY is binding on Christians.
Weekly Sabbath DAY argument #17. Daniel 7:25 plus Ezekiel 22:26.
The SDA Sabbath-keeping Christians use Daniel 7:25 to argue that the false prophet that speaks like a lamb in the book of Revelation is the Papacy or the last Pope in the end of days who will change the law of the land to force every human being to take the mark of the beast. And the mark of the beast to an SDA Christian is to worship God on a SUNDAY. But more precisely, their argument is that Sunday keeping Christians do NOT rest of SATURDAY to keep the seventh DAY of the WEEK Holy. They argue that the Roman Catholic Church CHANGED the Sabbath rest from the seventh day of the week to the FIRST day of the week. And to them, all Sunday-keeping Christians are profaning the Sabbath of Yahweh, according to Ezekiel 22:26.
Sound Biblical answer to weekly Sabbath DAY argument #17.
Let us read Ezekiel 22:26.
“Her priests have violated (Or imagined WRONGLY) my law, and have profaned (Or DISSOLVED) my holy things: (Meaning that by NOT discerning the TRUE meaning of why the law was given to them in the first place, the children of Israel are profaning God’s Messiah, the Holy one of Israel) they have put no difference between the holy and profane, (Or they have not DISTINGUISHED the distinction of the Holy and the DISSOLVED or what Jesus abolished and nailed to the cross) neither have they shown difference between the unclean and the clean, (Or neither have they OBSERVED to KNOW the distinction between the unsaved and to be made saved) and have hid their EYES from My Sabbaths, (Speaking of ALL of Yahweh’s Sabbath that they did not DISCERN with eyes of understanding were SHADOWS pointing to their Messiah) and I am profaned among them.”
All of my comments are based upon the meanings of the Hebrew words. But even if you disagree with those meanings, the word Sabbaths does not dogmatically mean that God is talking about His weekly Sabbaths. So, to me, Ezekiel 22:26 does NOT prove that the keeping of the weekly Sabbath is binding on Christians. And neither does it mean that the mortals during the 1000 year reign of Jesus will be keeping the WEEKLY Sabbath DAY. The context is about the coming of Jesus, the Son of MAN, coming to judge the children of Israel with the wrath of God. And then, during his 1000 year reign Jesus will show or TEACH the children of Israel all of her Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus abominations in the eyes of Almighty God the Father. Therefore, Ezekiel 22:26 does NOT prove that the keeping of the WEEKLY Sabbath DAY is binding on Christians. So then NONE of the verses of Scriptures prove that the keeping of the weekly Sabbath DAY is binding on Christians. I will end part 2 of this study exposing the ERRORS of interpretation made by the seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping Christians and we will begin part 3 with the Scriptures used in the New Testament to try and prove that the keeping of a 24 hour DAY of rest on the seventh DAY of every week is binding on Christians lest the sin.
