WHO is the ONE God?
#1. Is Yahweh the ONE God? And if Yahweh is the ONE God what does that MEAN?
#2. Does the ONE God Yahweh mean ONE God is ONE PERSON? And if God is ONE God in ONE person then WHO is Jesus?
#3. Does the ONE God Yahweh mean ONE God in THREE PERSONS?
#4. Is Jesus the ONE God in ONE person?
#5. Is Jesus ONE of the Gods in the ONE God in THREE Gods who are ONE God and NOT three separates God but three separate persons who are the ONE, God?
#6. What does the phrase “God OF gods” mean in the Bible?
#7. Are there TWO Gods as TWO separate persons that work together in UNITY with each other? And if there are two Gods, then did BOTH Gods ALWAYS exist without ever having a beginning? Or did the ONE God in ONE person exist FIRST and the other God came into existence later as a God under his God?
These are the questions that will be answered WITH the Scriptures being kept in the CONTEXT and the interpretations of all the verses COMPARED with the REST of the Scripture. I myself believe that the ONE and only TRUE God is Yahweh the Father and that Jesus is the SON OF Almighty God the Father. In other words, I believe that the FIRST God is Yahweh who is the ONE God in ONE PERSON and the second God is Yahweh’s SON whom He named Jesus. The name Jesus in Hebrew is Yeshua which means the salvation OF Yahweh. In other words, the one God in one person PROVIDED His own LAMB to be slain so that salvation would be IN the NAME of Jesus TO the GLORY OF Almighty God the Father. And we HONOR the Father by HONORING His SON, Jesus. Let us begin this study in God’s word in the New Testament first, and then we will take a closer look at the famous Oneness and Trinitarian verses in the Old Testament that are used to prove that there is only ONE God.
I Corinthians 8:6.
“But to us (Speaking of us, as Christians. Or at least to the early Christians in the first century, the EYEWITNESSES of Jesus believed that) there is but ONE God, the Father, of whom are all things, (Or more precisely, of who are the ALL, as in, the ALL of whosoever BELIEVES in God’s Son, the Savior God provided) and we in Him; AND (To us, as Christians or at least to the first-century Christians we believe that there is ALSO) ONE Lord Jesus Christ, by (Or more precisely, because of, as in, by reason of and for the sake of) whom are all things, (Or more precisely, FOR Jesus, the ALL of whosoever BELIEVES are belonging) and WE (The ALL who BELIEVE are) by (As in, BECAUSE OF) him.”
We, as Christians, all use the SAME source, the Holy word of God, the Bible, so why do we all arrive at DIFFERENT conclusions about WHO the ONE God is and who Jesus is? The purpose of this study in God's word of TRUTH is to bring us all into the UNITY OF FAITH whereby we as believers in Christ adhere to the SAME beliefs and we all speak the SAME thing. I want to lay the foundation that we as brothers and sisters in our Lord Christ Jesus that we ALL believe that the Bible is God's Holy word of truth and that it is the SOURCE or FOUNDATION of our very belief. And that means that church TRADITION must NEVER be used ABOVE the Bible to teach church doctrine. So if the TRUTH matters to YOU then what we find in the WHOLE word of God should be received and wholeheartedly accepted as to what we BELIEVE even if it goes against what we have been taught all our life by our church denominations which have become TRADITION. For you see, many false teachers have come and gone throughout the age of the church and some FALSE teachings have remained in the church, and parts of those false teachings are present to this day. And there are yet even more false teachings that have entered the church in these last days. If this were not true that there are MANY FALSE teachings among Christians then we would ALL believe and teach the exact SAME things. But because of the many traditions, commandments of men, and doctrines of devils that we have been taught through the years, we have all come to believe differently from what we read or hear from the very same word of God, the Holy Bible. In other words, it is our INTERPRETATION of the Scriptures that have caused all the DIVISIONS in the church and Satan is the one behind causing all the different INTERPRETATIONS. That is why false teaching is called the doctrines of devils. Satan masquerades as the angel and minister of light to DECEIVE. So in this study, it is my intent to give to you, the reader, and seeker of the TRUTH, the SOUND BIBLICAL foundation of God's word ALONE on which to base your faith. But in order for you to RECEIVE this TRUTH, you must read the WHOLE MATTER and truly CONSIDER what I am saying to you in this study of God's word to arrive at the TRUTH, the WHOLE TRUTH, and NOTHING but the TRUTH. For you see, the only thing that truly matters is what ALMIGHTY GOD HIMSELF says to us in his word as opposed to the INTERPRETATIONS and traditions of men simply being parroted without being searched out to see if they are sound Biblical teachings or not. Now let us continue this study by reading the WHOLE word of God and NOT just a few isolated verses of Scripture taken OUT of context. Ephesians 4:4-6 explains 1 Corinthians 8:6 in this way about the Father being ABOVE ALL which clearly identifies the Father as the ONE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God.
Ephesians 4:4-6. “There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling; 5. ONE LORD, one FAITH, one baptism, 6. ONE GOD and FATHER of all, who is ABOVE ALL, and through all, and in you all.”
Now, if one interprets the one Lord as being the one God then you must be consistent in your interpretation to force the one BODY to also BE the one, God. But the TRUTH of the matter is that the ONE God MADE the ONE Lord, according to Acts 2:36. The one Lord is always identified as being Jesus Christ the Son OF the ONE God who is always identified as being the Father. And since there is but ONE FAITH I believe that we should believe the one faith that the Bible ITSELF teaches us in SIMPLICITY. And this verse says that God the Father is ABOVE ALL which also includes His Son Jesus because many other verses say that the Father is the God OF Jesus Christ our Lord. So then, according to the Bible, Yahweh is the God AND the Father of ALL including being the God and Father OF Jesus Christ our Lord who Yahweh the Father MADE Lord and Christ. Also, in the OLD Testament, in some translations like the King James Version, the translator chose to use the word “LORD” in place of the tetragrammaton “YHWH”. For those who may not already know, the tetragrammaton is just a fancy word meaning the four Hebrew letters representing the NAME of the ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God. The Jews are fearful to pronounce the name of God so they left out the vowels to avoid accidentally saying the name of God which most Christians pronounce as being Yahweh. Now the Jehovah’s Witnesses pronounce God’s name as being Jehovah. Personally, I am reminded of the doctrines of “devils” when I see God’s name written and “Jehovah” which name is so reverent to the Jehovah’s Witnesses. The Jehovah’s Witnesses are witnesses to God creating an ANGEL who then created everything else which is a doctrine of “devils” So is it just a coincidence that the Jehovah’s Witnesses chose Jehovah over choosing Yahweh or was Satan behind having God’s name TRANSLATED as Jehovah even in the King James Bible. Please read the study “IS JEHOVAH GOD’S TRUE NAME?” God's name Yahweh means to BE, to come to BE, BECOMING to BE, to exist, as in, the self-existing one, as in, the SOURCE of all life and all created things. This is why God is called the FATHER of ALL both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament. So in truth, THE LORD GOD, or Yahweh God made His HUMAN SON, Jesus, become a Lord of lords, and a King of kings. For a deeper understanding of the ONE TRUE God highly exalting his SON Jesus to BECOME a God, a Lord of lords, and a King of kings under and subject to Yahweh the ONE God in ONE person please read the study “REVELATION 17:14 WHO IS THE KING OF KINGS?” If at any time, in this study or any other study, you do not think that I am telling you the TRUTH of the WHOLE of God's word then do not blindly accept what I am explaining to you what the Scriptures mean in the light of the whole word of God. But rather, I implore you to SEARCH the word of God daily as the men in Berea to PROVE to yourself what you are being taught here at AMatterOfTruth.com or by others is in fact the WHOLE word of God. My point is that we must not base our faith upon only isolated “cherry-picked” verses of Scriptures taken out of their CONTEXT, particularly, when the “INTERPRETATIONS” of those Scriptures DO NOT AGREE with the WHOLE word of God. Jesus himself saw his Father as the ONLY true God. So why do we not all believe what our Lord Jesus Christ has taught us to believe? Yes, Jesus is CALLED God by TITLE but so is Satan and we do not try and FORCE Satan to BE Yahweh Himself. Clearly, the Bible itself teaches us that Jesus is a God who is under and subject to HIS God and Father who alone is the ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God the SOURCE of ALL including being the maker, former, begetter, and creator OF His LAMB, the Son of MAN, Jesus. This truth will clearly be shown to you directly from the Bible ITSELF without any contradictions from any other part of God's word. But let us take one step at a time and first weigh the evidence of what the disciples of Jesus taught us consistently throughout the entire New Testament from the book of Acts to the book of Revelation. And then, we will see what Jesus himself says about his God and Father in the four gospels. As you read the following evidence from the New Testament you will find that the disciples of Jesus ALWAYS clearly identified the ONE true God as being the FATHER and Jesus as being our ONE Lord as we just saw from 1 Corinthians 8:6 at the beginning of this study. And I do not believe that the Bible contradicts itself. The contradictions come from the INCORRECT interpretation and the INCORRECT translations from the Greek and Hebrew original manuscripts. Now some Christians who teach the doctrine of the Trinity, have argued saying, “Well, 1 Corinthians 8:6 is just ONE verse and does not prove that Jesus is not Almighty God because Jesus is called God in Hebrews 1:8 and Thomas called Jesus my Lord AND my God” And Oneness Christians argue the same things. When I read or hear these arguments, I think to myself what Bible are they reading anyway to say that this is the ONLY verse in the Bible that clearly identifies the FATHER as being God, as in, the Father as being the ONLY TRUE God, the God OF Jesus Christ our Lord. Let us begin with Jesus himself calling the Father HIS God in John 20:17.
John 20:17.
“Jesus said unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to MY God, and your God.”
So then, according to Jesus himself, OUR God is the GOD OF Jesus. The writers of the New Testament clearly identify the FATHER as being God in every book of the New Testament except for 3 John where neither the Father nor the Son is even mentioned. And only ONE time in the entire New Testament is the Son ever specifically said to be God without any interpretation needed. And that one verse is Hebrews 1:8. But the CONTEXT of Hebrews 1:8 clearly teaches us that Jesus is a God UNDER HIS God and Father. And the whole word of God clearly identifies the Father ALONE as being THE ONE TRUE and ONLY ALMIGHTY God the FATHER, the God OF Jesus. Please read the study “WHAT DOES HEBREWS 1:8 TRULY MEAN?” But for now, please read from Acts to Revelation in every book except 3 John where the EYEWITNESSES of Jesus teaches us that the Father is the God OF Jesus and Jesus is our Lord. And we know from Acts 2:36 that Jesus was MADE Lord BY his God and Father the ONLY TRUE God, according to the words of Jesus himself in John 17:1-3. Sometimes, I do not write out ALL the verses in every study. If I did, then every study would be an entire book and some of my readers complain that my studies are way TOO long already. I am only trying to make it clear to my readers as to WHY I myself believe that the Oneness Christians and the Trinitarian Christians have ERRORED in some of their INTERPRETATIONS of the Scriptures. And below are many verses of Scripture that do NOT need to be INTERPRETED. They are SIMPLE easy to understand verses of Scripture that should be used to interpret the rest of the Scriptures. Now if you have read these verses before in one of my other studies, then please feel free to skip down to section two but it never hurt to read the Scriptures over and over again. Acts 2:33. “Therefore, being BY the right hand OF God EXALTED, and having received OF the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he has shed forth this, which you now see and hear.” The word translated as the English word “being” means to COME, as in, Jesus came to be by the right hand of God AFTER the CROSS by being highly EXALTED by his God and Father the ONE TRUE God in ONE PERSON. Jesus RECEIVED of the Father all power and authority to baptize believers in the Holy Spirit and to also give eternal life to faithful believers. Jesus was MADE the author and the finisher of our faith. And that is why Jesus will be called the everlasting Father in the world yet to come. Isaiah 9:6 literally means the father of eternity or the father of everlasting life. It does NOT mean that Jesus IS the Father or that Jesus is Yahweh Himself. Romans 1:7.
“To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our FATHER, AND the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Again, God is identified as the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST. Now some ONENESS believers may INTERPRET this verse to wrongly teach that Jesus IS the FATHER, but that does not make it so just because some church denomination INCORRECTLY interprets a verse in the Bible. We must interpret each verse in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of God. And this next verse clearly teaches us that Jesus is NOT the FATHER, but rather that God is the Father OF Jesus.
Romans 15:6.
“That you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, EVEN the FATHER OF our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER, and Jesus as being clearly identified as being our Lord and CHRIST.
1 Corinthians 1:3.
“Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our FATHER, AND from the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being the Lord and the Christ. Also please notice that many of these greetings specifically state that they are from God our Father AND FROM the Lord Jesus Christ which clearly teaches us that they are TWO SEPARATE beings and not one and the self same being as the Oneness believers dogmatically demand. So again the Bible itself teaches us that when the spoken word of PROPHECY became flesh that is when there was no longer ONE being. God is NOT a MAN and neither is he the Son of MAN.
1 Corinthians 15:24.
“Then comes the end, when he (Jesus the SON OF Almighty God the FATHER) Shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, EVEN the Father; when He (The Father) shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being the SON OF God, who is our Lord and CHRIST.
2 Corinthians 1:2.
“Grace be to you and peace from God our FATHER, AND from the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being the Lord Jesus Christ. And again we see TWO beings and not just one being.
2 Corinthians 1:3.
“Blessed be God, EVEN the Father OF our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;”
Again, God is clearly identified as the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST. Almighty God the FATHER is being identified as the Father OF our Lord Jesus the CHRIST along with Almighty God Yahweh the Father being identified as the Father of mercies and also as the God of all comfort.
2 Corinthians 11:3.
“The God and Father OF our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knows that I lie not.”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST. And the Father is also identified as being the God OF our Lord Jesus Christ.
Galatians 1:1.
“Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, AND God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)”
Galatians 1:3.
“Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, AND from our Lord Jesus Christ,”
Again, God is clearly identified as the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST.
Galatians 1:4.
“Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the WILL OF God and our Father:”
Ephesians 1:2.
“Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, AND from the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST. Also, for the “Oneness Pentecostal” believers that teach that Jesus is NOT a separate person from the Father, all through these verses of Scripture, we clearly see TWO different SEPARATE beings or persons. The words FROM God our Father AND FROM the Lord Jesus Christ cannot be interpreted to mean ONE and the self same being. Clearly, the Bible ITSELF teaches us that we MUST believe in BOTH the Father AND the SON as SEPARATE persons from each other who are in AGREEMENT with each other.
Ephesians 1:3.
“Blessed be the God AND Father OF our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST. In this verse, we ALSO see the writer of Ephesians identifying the Father OF Jesus as being the GOD OF Jesus as well. So then, the ALMIGHTY is BOTH the God AND Father OF Jesus.
Ephesians 1:17. “That THE God OF our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:”
The subject of this verse is THE God OF Jesus, speaking of Almighty God the FATHER, as being the Father of glory, who gives us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.
Ephesians 4:6. “ONE God and FATHER of ALL, who is ABOVE ALL, and through all, and in you all.” In this verse, the writer of the book of Ephesians clearly and plainly identifies the ALMIGHTY God, who is ABOVE ALL as being the ONE God called the FATHER. And the Father is ABOVE Jesus. Ephesians 5:20. “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;”
Again, God is clearly identified as the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST.
Ephesians 6:23.
“Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father AND the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST.
Philippians 1:2.
“Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, AND the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Philippians 2:11.
“And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, TO the glory OF God the Father.”
In this verse, the writer teaches us that every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and NOT confess that Jesus is THE ALMIGHTY YAHWEH HIMSELF. So once again, THE ALMIGHTY God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST. Also, notice that it is TO the GLORY OF the FATHER that every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord.
Philippians 4:20.
“Now unto God and our Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.”
In this verse, we see only the FATHER as being God.
Colossians 1:2.
“To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST.
Colossians 1:3.
“We give thanks to God and the Father OF our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,”
Again, this verse is saying that God is the GOD OF Jesus and the FATHER OF Jesus, which agrees with the rest of God's word.
1 Thessalonians 1:1.
“Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father AND in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, AND the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST.
1 Thessalonians 1:3.
“Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST.
1 Thessalonians 3:1.
“Now God HIMSELF and our Father, AND our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.”
Here in this verse, we see the writer clearly identifying the ONE true God HIMSELF as being the FATHER and again identifying Jesus as being both Lord and CHRIST.
1 Thessalonians 3:13.
“To the end, he may establish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, EVEN our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.”
Again, God is clearly identified as the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST.
2 Thessalonians 1:1.
“Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father AND the Lord Jesus Christ:”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST.
2 Thessalonians 1:2.
“Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father AND the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST.
2 Thessalonians 2:16.
“Now our Lord Jesus Christ HIMSELF, AND God, EVEN our Father, which has loved us, and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,”
In this verse, the writer seems to go out of his way to clearly identify Jesus HIMSELF as being Lord and Christ and EVEN the FATHER as being the Almighty God.
1 Timothy 1:2.
“Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father AND Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Once again our Lord is identified as being Jesus Christ and our God as being clearly identified as the FATHER.
2 Timothy 1:2.
“To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST.
Titus 1:4.
“To Titus, my own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father AND the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST.
Philemon 1:3.
“Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father AND the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST.
James 1:27.
“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
James 3:9.
“Therewith bless we God, EVEN the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.”
In this verse like 1 Corinthians 8:6, the writer EMPHASISES God as being SOLELY identified as the FATHER ALONE that he says EVEN the FATHER.
1 Peter 1:2.
“Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.”
1 Peter 1:3.
“Blessed be the God AND Father OF our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”
Here again, the Almighty is being clearly identified as the God OF Jesus as well as the Father OF Jesus. And Jesus is identified as Lord and Christ.
2 Peter 1:17.
“For he (Jesus the SON OF Almighty God the FATHER) received FROM God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved SON, in whom I am well pleased.”
1 John 3:1.
“Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore, the world knows us not because it knew him not.”
2 John 1:3.
“Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, AND from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son OF the Father, in truth and love.”
Again, God is clearly identified as being the FATHER and Jesus as being Lord and CHRIST. And notice that these greetings are from BOTH the Father AND FROM his SON Jesus, the Christ.
2 John 1:9.
“Whosoever transgresses, and abides NOT in the doctrine of Christ, does NOT have God. He that abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has BOTH the Father AND the Son.”
Or he that believes in the doctrine of the ANOINTING of Jesus with power from on high has BOTH Almighty God the Father and His Son, Jesus. In this verse, we clearly see that we must, without fail, believe in BOTH Almighty God the Father AND in His SON Jesus. Now to ME, if so be that the word of God truly taught the doctrine of the Trinity, then this verse would have been the ideal place to ADD the Holy Spirit and clearly teach us that we must believe in all THREE rather than believing in only BOTH the Father and the Son. Please read the study called “THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A PERSON!” and the study “THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE FATHER!” for a deeper understanding that, in truth, the Bible itself only speaks of TWO different persons and NOT three different persons as the doctrine of the trinity dogmatically demands there to be THREE persons in one divine being called the ALMIGHTY God.
Jude 1:1.
“Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, AND preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:”
Again, the FATHER is identified as being God.
Revelation 1:6.
“And has made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen”.
In the four gospels, Jesus HIMSELF identifies the one TRUE God as being the FATHER. Please read John 17:3 where Jesus is praying to his God and Father the ONE TRUE and ONLY Almighty God. Please notice that Jesus says that the Father is the ONLY true God.
John 17:3.
“And this is life eternal, that they might know YOU the ONLY TRUE God, AND Jesus Christ, whom YOU have sent.”
In other words, Jesus is praying TO his God and Father for us to know the FATHER as being the ONE TRUE God AND also to know that Jesus was SENT or COMMISSIONED BY the ONE TRUE God. The literal meaning of SENT is COMMISSIONED, which means that God gave his Son power and authority to accomplish the task of doing all of his God and Father's WILL. In 1 John 4:9-15, we can see in verse 9 that God sent or COMMISSIONED his only begotten SON, and in verse 14 we can see that the FATHER sent his SON which again clearly shows us that God is the FATHER.
1 John 4:9-15.
“In this was MANIFESTED the LOVE OF God toward us, because that God SENT his only begotten SON into the world, that we might live through him. (God was MANIFEST IN THE FLESH means that God’s LOVE and GOODNESS and mercy was clearly revealed to us through HIS SON who became obedient to do all the FATHER’S WILL even to suffer and die on the cross for our sins. And the word “SENT” means COMMISSIONED. The word “COMMISSIONED” means to GIVE power and authority to a person for them to be empowered to do the task they are given to do. So the Son of God was SENT after his baptism when Yahweh the Father ANOINTED or commissioned the Son of man to preach the Gospel of the kingdom. Please read the study “JOHN 3:17 WAS JESUS SENT FROM HEAVEN?”) 10. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 12. No man has seen God at any time. (And clearly, many men have indeed seen Jesus) If we love one another, God dwells IN us, and his love is perfected in us. (So then, to all my Oneness Pentecostal readers, if God dwelling IN Jesus means that he is Yahweh Himself then what does God dwelling IN us make us be? Certainly, we are NOT Almighty God because God dwells in us?) 13. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. (Here we know that God and His Holy Spirit are one and the same eternal divine being. But the eternal Spirit dwelling in Jesus does not make him be Almighty God Himself. But rather, God came down from heaven and DWELT IN the FLESH of the Son of man, Jesus. And now the same eternal Spirit dwells in us as believers in His SON Jesus and being the CHRIST, the ANOINTED OF God, who anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and with power to do the Will OF the Father. Otherwise, Jesus would have never said noot MY Will but YOUR Will be done if so be that Jesus is Almighty God Himself. Jesus is NOT the Father, but rather, the Father was WITH Jesus by DWELLING IN him) 14. And we have seen and do testify that the Father SENT the Son to be the Savior of the world. (Again, the word SENT means COMMISSIONED. And the word commissioned means to GIVE power and authority to a person to accomplish the task that the person was sent to accomplish. Jesus was ANOINTED by God at his BAPTISM when the eternal Holy Spirit descended from heaven to REMAIN upon Jesus.) 15. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the SON OF God, God dwells in him, and he in God.”
Nowhere in the Bible do I find that we are commanded to believe that Jesus is Almighty God himself but we are told over and over that we must believe in the SON OF God. And if we do not have the SON then we do not have the Father either.
1 John 2:22-25.
“Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is an antichrist, that denies the Father AND the Son. (Jesus as being the Christ means that God ANOINTED Jesus with the Holy Spirit and with power. This means that God DWELT IN Jesus which means that there were TWO, the Father, AND the SON OF the Father. God was WITH His Son Jesus by DWELLING IN the Son of man, Jesus.) 23. Whosoever denies the Son, the same has not the Father: (but) he that acknowledges the Son has the Father ALSO. 24. Let that, therefore, abide in you, which you have heard from the beginning. If that which you have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, you also shall continue IN the Son, AND IN the Father. 25. And this is the promise that he has promised us, even eternal life.”
So then, the ONLY book in the New Testament that does not clearly and plainly identify the one true and only Almighty God as being the FATHER is 3 John which does not even mention either the words Father, God, Son, Jesus, or Lord. But the same writer of 3 John also wrote 1st John and 2nd John which do clearly identify the FATHER as being GOD. Now that we have clearly established that the word of TRUTH, the Holy Bible, clearly and plainly identifies ONLY the FATHER as being God and the God OF his SON Jesus the Christ we can now clearly establish that the GODHEAD is speaking ONLY of Almighty God the FATHER ALONE in ONE person and NOT three persons in the Godhead.
SECTION TWO
THE ONE GOD IS ONE PERSON
In Acts chapter 17, Paul teaches us that the Godhead is ONE God in ONE PERSON who alone is the FATHER who will judge the world BY the MAN, Jesus Christ. Now IF Jesus is Yahweh Himself then God would be JUDGING the world BY Himself and who could measure up to Yahweh our creator to follow in the steps of a PERFECT God? For you see, we are called to follow in the steps of Jesus who did not sin. But Jesus overcame sin THROUGH the eternal Spirit dwelling IN him and now WE have the SAME anointing of the Holy Spirit dwelling IN us as believers. Acts 17:28, 29.
“For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also HIS offspring. 29. For as much then as we are the offspring of God, (Speaking of being the children of Almighty God the FATHER) we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.”
The word “Godhead” refers back to the word God, who we KNOW is speaking of the FATHER alone and NOT the SON OF Almighty God the Father by the CONTEXT. The writer is merely pointing out that we are never to think of God or the Godhead, the SUPREME DIVINE being as some sculpture, artwork, or image made of stone, wood, gold, or silver. And when you read the CONTEXT where Paul is teaching the pagans in Athens that their UNKNOWN GOD is the God of the Bible you will find the SINGULAR use of HIS offspring and not THEIR offspring in Acts 17:28. Trinitarian Christians like to use the PLURAL of Elohim in Genesis where God says let US make man in OUR image but then they do NOT point out the SINGULAR use of God as being HE made man in HIS own image in the very NEXT verse of Scripture in Genesis 1:27. So for the true sound Biblical meaning of the PLURAL of Elohim please read the study “GENESIS 1:26 LET US MAKE MAN IN OUR IMAGE!” But for now, let us take a look at Romans 1:20 which teaches us that all created things are made from the UNSEEN or from that which is INVISIBLE, which is SPIRIT or Almighty God HIMSELF because God IS SPIRIT and God is INVISIBLE. But Jesus is NOT invisible.
Romans 1:20.
“For the invisible things OF Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are MADE (In other words, what was ONCE or at one time was INVISIBLE was CREATED or made to BE visible, as in, material tangible things of creation that were created OUT FROM and BY the eternal INVISIBLE God or Godhead speaking of the FATHER of ALL), even HIS (SINGULAR and NOT plural pronoun their, but rather, HIS, as in, the Father’s) eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”
The spoken WORD or SAYING of God that came forth OUT FROM God was MADE flesh and dwelt among us to SHOW us the Father. In other words, Yahweh the Father MADE Jesus for the purpose to give to us the UNDERSTANDING of the eternal power of the GODHEAD who alone is the Father. God MANIFESTED HIMSELF, as in, God manifested His true character of LOVE and mercy by FLESH, the Son of MAN, Jesus. To say this another way, 1 Timothy 3:16 does NOT say that God Himself manifested Himself in the flesh. But rather, it says that God was manifest in the FLESH. The word manifest means to manifestly DECLARE. And the Son of man who is FLESH manifestly DECLARED God as being his God and Father the ONLY TRUE God. Please read the studies “WHAT DOES GOD INCARNATE TRULY MEAN?” and “WHAT DOES 1 TIMOTHY 3:16 GOD MANIFEST IN THE FLESH TRULY MEAN?”
I Corinthians 8:4.
“…for there is NONE OTHER God but ONE”.
This does NOT mean that there are no other Gods whatsoever, But rather, this means that there is only one creator God who is the Almighty God OF all other Gods the He Himself SET to be Gods. To us, as Christians, Almighty God the FATHER is the only TRUE God alone and there is NONE OTHER God but the FATHER. In other words, every time you read the word “God” in the New Testament it is ALWAYS referring to the FATHER as being God, EXCEPT for one verse found in Hebrews 1:8,9 where the Father calls His SON Jesus by the TITLE God in verse 8 and calls Himself THE GOD OF His SON whom He Himself highly exalted to become a God AFTER the CROSS. When Thomas said my Lord and my God he may or may not have been calling Jesus God. That verse must be INTERPRETED. And IF it is intended to mean that Jesus is God it must agree with Hebrews 1:8,9 to be another God under and subject to Yahweh the Father. You see Philippians 2:8-11 teaches us that it was after the anointed Son of MAN, Jesus, become obedient to all the will of his God and Father even to suffer and die for the sins of the whole world so that whosoever BELIEVES on the SON OF God might be saved that Jesus was granted the right to sit on God’s throne. For a deeper understanding of Jesus becoming a God to be under his God and Father to rule and reign at His side for 1000 years please read the studies “OUR GOD IS ONE IN ONE PERSON!” and “IS JESUS ALMIGHTY GOD?”. But for now, let us continue laying the FOUNDATION of the Bible ITSELF teaching us that there is but ONE God in ONE PERSON and NONE OTHER God but ONE using New Testament Scripture before we go to the Old Testament verses of Scripture.
In I Timothy we read 2:5.
“For there is ONE God, AND ONE mediator between God and men, the MAN Christ Jesus;”
Again, we see that there is but ONE God which the Bible always clearly identifies as being the FATHER. In this verse, we also see that there is only ONE mediator BETWEEN God and men and this mediator is the MAN Christ Jesus. When you read the New Testament pay attention to just how many times Jesus is referred to as the Son of MAN or you can read the studies “JESUS THE SON OF MAN!”, and “THE MAN JESUS CHRIST!” But for now, I want you to know that it was NECESSARY for our atonement or our Messiah to be FULLY a HUMAN being who was tempted in all points just like we are tempted in order to become our MEDIATOR between God and mankind. The Bible says that by one MAN sin entered into the world and by one MAN came the resurrection to be judged. And John 5:27 teaches us that for the very reason of Jesus being the Son of MAN his God and Father GAVE His HUMAN SON Jesus all authority and power after the cross to JUDGE mankind and the fallen angels. God could have chosen an angel to be the mediator but God wanted an inferior being than the angels to be His mediator because the fallen angel will also be judged BY the MAN Jesus Christ.
John 5:27.
“And has GIVEN him authority to execute judgment ALSO, BECAUSE he is the Son of MAN.”
The word “mediator” carries the meaning of making peace between God and mankind. You see sin separated mankind from God and Jesus was chosen by his God and Father as the means to reconcile mankind back to Himself. The word of God says GOODWILL toward men for unto to us is a child born. Jesus was born to be the King of Israel; Jesus said to this END was he BORN. Jesus was made King over the earth but he will not rule the world until the world that is yet to come. I believe that God could have destroyed mankind and created something else, another species, but he chose to create in us a new heart to BECOME His NEW CREATION. Now, Jesus did not need a new heart but Jesus did need a new glorified immortal body that was prepared for him before the world was. So then, Yahweh sent his SPOKEN word or SAYING down out of heaven to the earth BY his Angel Gabriel in the fullness of time to SPEAK to the Virgin Mary. And when the Virgin Mary believed and received God's SPOKEN LOGOS a CHILD was conceived in the womb of the Virgin Mary to be BORN the Son of MAN who would be called the SON of the HIGHEST or the SON OF the ALMIGHTY God. And the Bible calls THE Almighty God, the FATHER. God THEN sent His human Son Jesus, the Son of MAN, out into the world to become a ransom for us to then become the mediator between God and mankind. All the way through the word of God there is found a clear distinction between Almighty God, the ONE true and only wise God, and His Son Jesus, the Son of MAN. The word of God also shows us that there is UNITY between the Father and the Son but NOT unity in the sense that they are ONE and the SELF-SAME being as some falsely teach. The Father loves His Son and has highly exalted him but Jesus even though he knew from the word of God that the SOURCE of his origin was Almighty God Himself being his Father. Jesus never even once thought of himself as being EQUAL with his God and Father as something to be sought after or attained. So then, why do so many Christians argue with heated arguments against one another on the teaching of the Deity of Jesus? Why all the controversy, when the TRUTH can easily be known by seeing Jesus as ANOTHER God under and subject to his God who MADE him Lord. If you would like a deeper understanding of what the WHOLE word of God has to say on this highly controversial subject of God's word, then please ALL the studies under the heading >>>WHO IS JESUS ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE<<< The word of God tells us that Jesus was the only BEGOTTEN Son of God. The word “begotten” means to be brought forth, or born. In the natural, if a son is “begotten” of a father that is a human being then the NATURE of that son would be flesh and blood because the nature of his father as a human being is also flesh and blood. The son is not one and the self-same being as his father, nor indeed ever can be one and the self-same being as the father. They are of the same NATURE, that is to say, they are both humans in nature. However, they are two distinct and different HUMAN beings. So then, the doctrine of ONENESS sometimes called Modalism is NOT SOUND Biblical teaching based upon the WHOLE word of God. Likewise, the NATURE of the only begotten Son of the Father would NORMALLY bear his Father’s NATURE, that is both WOULD be of divine nature but NEVER as one and the SELF-SAME being as his Father. The Father and the Son are two distinct and different DIVINE beings. The Bible clearly teaches that for us, speaking of us as Christians, there is but ONE GOD, even the FATHER. Now, I said NORMALLY and also WOULD be of the same NATURE because the Bible ITSELF clearly teaches us that Almighty God GAVE His human Son DIVINE nature AFTER the cross. Please read the study “WHAT DOES PHILIPPIANS 2:6-8 TRULY MEAN?” But for now, please know and understand that God CHOSE His Son to FIRST be fully HUMAN without ANY divine nature of his own until AFTER the Son of MAN proved himself to be worthy to RECEIVE the DIVINE NATURE of IMMORTALITY. The Bible says that God is Spirit. In other words, the NATURE of God is SPIRIT possessing the DIVINE NATURE of IMMORTALITY, whereas, or in the same way, the NATURE of a human being is FLESH and BLOOD which is MORTAL nature that is subject to death. Having the same NATURE as God does NOT make Jesus BE Almighty God Himself. For you see, WE, as Christians will be made partakers of the DIVINE NATURE as well at the coming of Jesus. The spoken word of PROPHECY was MADE FLESH first, and then that flesh was made Christ, and then that Christ or that ANOINT Son of MAN was MADE Lord. Jesus was MADE a little LOWER than the angels FIRST and no angel is EQUAL with God. So then, all the Oneness and Trinitarian INTERPRETATIONS of the Scripture that they INTERPRET as meaning that Jesus is EQUAL with God are NOT sound Biblical interpretations because those interpretations CONTRADICT the simple FACT that Jesus was made LOWER than the angels. And then, AFTER the CROSS, Jesus was CROWNED with glory and honor to OBTAIN a NAME more excellent than the angels. To me, BOTH the Oneness doctrine AND the doctrine of the Trinity teach AGAINST the DOCTRINE of CHRIST, the ANOINTING of Jesus. Please read 2 John 1:7 from the Weymouth New Testament which clearly shows us that CHRIST is NOT the last name of Jesus. But rather, the correct translations teach that Jesus is the CHRIST or that Jesus is the ANOINTED ONE of Almighty God the Father in that the ANOINTING came and DWELT IN the MAN Jesus.
Here is 2 John 1:7 from the Weymouth translation.
“For many DECEIVERS have gone out into the world--men who do NOT acknowledge Jesus AS CHRIST who (Speaking of Jesus who is the spoken word of prophecy made flesh) has come in human nature. Such a one is `the deceiver' and `the anti-Christ.”
In the early church, the Jews were DIVIDED. Some of the Jews believed that Jesus was the CHRIST and other Jews did NOT believe that God was WITH Jesus. Remember Acts 10:38 clearly teaches us that God was WITH Jesus by His very own self-same Holy Spirit DWELLING IN his Son Jesus. Jesus said If I cast out devils by the FINGER of God then no doubt the Kingdom of God has come unto you. Some of the Jews falsely accused Jesus of casting out devils BY the power of Satan. They did not believe that Jesus was ANOINTED by God who was prophesied to come. The word “CHRIST” means the “ANOINTING” and the “ANOINTING” means the INDWELLING of Almighty God HIMSELF IN His human SON Jesus to EMPOWER His SON to do all the Will of his God and Father, who ALONE is the ONE true and only ALMIGHTY God. The anointing of Jesus does NOT mean that ALL of God dwelt in Jesus as the Oneness Christians wrongly teach. Jesus said that he cast out devils by the FINGER of God and the finger of God is not ALL of God. And IF all of God dwelt in Jesus then NONE of God would have been outside of Jesus. And the Bible clearly teaches us that Jesus prayed TO the Father who was IN heaven while Jesus was down on the earth. And in John 17:1-3 Jesus said that the Father is the ONLY TRUE God which means that Jesus could NOT have been God at the time of that prayer right BEFORE the CROSS. Jesus was not made a PARTAKER of the DIVINE NATURE until AFTER the CROSS. The TRUTH of the matter is that the Word or the SAYING of Almighty God was MADE flesh, as in, Jesus was FULLY and TRULY a HUMAN BEING during the days of his FLESH. And the human Jesus was ANOINTED or was filled with the Holy Spirit of his God and Father the one true and only Almighty God. This is the DOCTRINE of CHRIST that we as Christians are to believe lest we are “anti-Christ” or anti-ANOINTING of Jesus to be endued with power from on high. Again, the word CHRIST literally means that Almighty God the Father, the ETERNAL SPIRIT came down from heaven and DWELT IN the HUMAN BODY of His HUMAN SON Jesus. Please keep in mind that the ETERNAL SPIRIT is present EVERYWHERE and in essence the Spirit IS everything but everything is NOT Yahweh. The writers of the New Testament liken the Holy Spirit as a dove DESCENDING DOWN from out of heaven to REMAIN upon Jesus. This is when Jesus actually became THE CHRIST, the ANOINTED ONE of Almighty God at his baptism. This is when the Father SENT His human Son into the world and not sent DOWN a so-called pre-existing God the Son out of heaven into the world. One of the Greek words that are translated as SENT means to COMMISSION. And the word commission means to GIVE power and authority to accomplish a task that one is asked to do. The other Greek word that is translated as SENT means SENDING in the present tense. So God’s HUMAN Son was sent OUT into the world being COMMISSIONED by his God and Father. With that being said, let us begin section three where we will take a closer look that the Old Testament Scriptures that SEEM to be saying that there is NO OTHER God but Yahweh Himself and there never will be any other God as the ALMIGHTY God but Yahweh Himself.
SECTION THREE
NO GOD BESIDE ME VERSES!
Here in section three of this study, THERE IS BUT ONE GOD, I will briefly explain the true sound Biblical meaning of the “I AM HE” verses in the Old Testament in the light of the “NO God BESIDE ME” verses of Scripture. Let us begin by reading two of the most quoted verses used by both Oneness Christians and Trinitarians Christians to try and prove that Jesus IS the ONE God Yahweh Himself in the flesh.
Deuteronomy 5:7. “You shall have none other gods before me.” The Hebrew word that is translated as you shall not have any other Gods “BEFORE” Yahweh means ABOVE, OVER, and AGAINST Yahweh. What Christians have failed to see when interpreting the Scriptures is that God is at war with Lucifer who is now called Satan the “god” of this present world who wants to be worshipped ABOVE Yahweh. And God is warning us to NOT choose Satan or any of the fallen angels as our God because our God is ONE Lord according to this next verse of Scripture. Please read Deuteronomy 6:4. “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:” This verse literally reads “PERCEIVE O Israel, Yahweh our Elohim is ONE Yahweh” Remember that God HIDES prophecy of future NEW THINGS while at the SAME time tells us the HISTORY of the FORMER things. So the HISTORY side of this verse is saying that the One God of the Old Testament was ONE God in ONE PERSON. And the PROPHECY side of this verse is saying pay attention and PERCEIVE that Yahweh our Elohim is ALTOGETHER Yahweh. For you see, the Greek word “echad” means BOTH one single person as well as meaning unity as altogether the Father and His FUTURE Son are Yahweh TOGETHER ruling side by side. Here is how E-Sword defines the Hebrew word “echad”. H259 אֶחָד 'echâd ekh-awd' A numeral from H258; properly united, that is, one; or (as an ordinal) first: - a, alike, alone, altogether, and, any (-thing), apiece, a certain [dai-] ly, each (one), + eleven, every, few, first, + highway, a man, once, one, only, other, some, together. Some Christians try to force only ONE meaning of “echad” to either mean one God in one person all the time. Or one God in three persons all the time, as in, there was never a time when God was ONE PERSON. Now to ME, Trinitarians have a problem using the meaning of three Gods in UNITY to try and prove that Yahweh is ONE God in THREE separate persons but NOT three separate Gods. BUT if Jesus is truly a separate God then the Hebrew word “echad” would fit the true Jesus. Yahweh IS ONE God in ONE PERSON who created another God that He NAMED Yahweh AFTER the cross. Now, I myself believe this to be the true sound Biblical meaning of Deuteronomy 6:4 because the very next verse has a HIDDEN prophecy of Jesus. It is hidden because the two Hebrew letters, the Aleph and the Tav, are NOT translated. Let us read the context of verse 4 by reading Deuteronomy 6:1-5 with the Aleph and the Tav in view. And when you read the Aleph and the Tav try seeing that Yahweh is prophesying His yet future Messiah Jesus while hiding it from Satan His enemy. Deuteronomy 6:1-5. “Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it: 2. THAT (Or so THAT) you might fear the (ALEPH TAV- Messiah Jesus) LORD your God, to keep (ALEPH TAV- Messiah Jesus) all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son's son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged. 3. Hear (Or pay attention and PERCEIVE) THEREFORE, (Or for this very reason of WHY I and giving you these commandments as your SCHOOLMASTER to lead you to your Messiah Jesus so that you will NOT take my NAME in VAIN but rather that you will obey his commandment that I will put in his mouth for you to keep under the NEW COVENANT that I will make with you) O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with you, and that you may increase mightily, as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you, in the land that flows with milk and honey. 4 Hear, (Or pay attention and PERCEIVE) O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: 5. AND you shall love (ALEPH TAV- Messiah Jesus) the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.” So you can see from these two verses that it is NOT about having any other Gods but rather to not have any other God ABOVE, OVER, and AGAINST Yahweh. And Jesus as being ANOTHER God does not make Jesus a violation of the first commandment because in this second verse we can clearly see from the HIDDEN prophecy that God is teaching us of a second Yahweh that will rule for Yahweh in the NAME OF Yahweh in the world yet to come. Let us continue to take a closer look at some more of the famous Oneness and Trinitarian verses of Scripture in the Old Testament that is used to try and FORCE Jesus to BE Yahweh Himself. Deuteronomy 32:39. “See NOW that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.” Both Oneness Christians and Trinitarian Christians take verses out of the context and string several verses together and when you listen to the Oneness Christians then the Oneness argument seems right. But when you listen to the Trinitarian Christians then the Trinitarian argument seems right. And when you listen to the argument against the Oneness doctrine then the Oneness doctrine seems to be in error. And when you listen to the arguments against the doctrine of the Trinity then the doctrine of the Trinity seems to be in error. Now, I believe that the reason why this debate between Oneness Christians and Trinitarian Christians has gone on for well over 1000 years is that BOTH Oneness Christians and Trinitaria Christians seem to think that they MUST believe in ONE of these TWO doctrines and there is NO other OPTION. Both sides have spent so much time trying to FORCE Jesus to be Yahweh Himself that they have not TRULY taken a close look at the possibility that Jesus just might be ANOTHER God. Not another creator God, but rather, another God by TITLE who was FORMED by Yahweh to replace Lucifer as the God, “by TITLE”, of the whole earth so THAT God can JUDGE Lucifer and the fallen angels BY the MAN Jesus Christ. And then God can DESTROY Lucifer and the fallen angels to END sin for all eternity. So another possible meaning of Deuteronomy 32:39 that we just read is that there are no ELOHIM or no further angel gods WITH Yahweh anymore, as in, on Yahweh’s side. Lucifer convinced ONE-THIRD of the Elohim to make war with Yahweh. And God’s people Israel have gone after these false gods who seek to be worshipped. Some false gods are “superstitious false idol gods” but there is also worshiping of angels and devils which are “real” gods who are AGAINST Yahweh. They used to be good Gods that Yahweh set to be mighty rulers but back before the rebellion began they did NOT seek to be worshipped. But now, they are NO FURTHER Gods WITH Yahweh, they are gods AGAINST Yahweh. Please understand that the word “God” is a TITLE and ONLY the Almighty God is the ONLY TRUE God who is the God OF all other Gods. Here is Deuteronomy 32:39 again. “See NOW that I, even I, am he, (Or See, NOW that I, I, [and] he), and there is no god WITH me: (Or no FURTHER God WITH me) I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.” In the Hebrew and Greek languages, this would read in English something like “Look as see! Now THAT I Yahweh, I [and] he [My King Jesus], I am putting to death and I am making alive, I transfixed or astonished [with my wrath] and I will heal, and there is no from the hand of me rescuing, and NO FURTHER god with me.” Or no further fallen gods with me. When we read this verse in context as prophecy we can see verse 40 speaking of Yahweh lifting up his “hand” referring to highly exalting the Son of MAN, Jesus up into heaven and Yahweh saying to him LIVE forever. And then in verses 41, 42, we can see Yahweh’s vengeance being executed by His “sword” referring to the now highly exalted Jesus along with Yahweh’s “arrows” referring to us, the SAINTS. Deuteronomy 32: 40-43. “For I lift up my hand to heaven, (Or I exalt my hand to be seated with me in heaven on my throne) and say, I live forever. (Or I say to him LIVE forever) 41. If I whet my glittering sword, and my hand takes hold on judgment; (Yahweh made Jesus become His new threshing instrument. Jesus is the glittering sword in Yahweh’s hand. It is Yahweh’s vengeance but Jesus will execute the wrath of God because Yahweh the Father COMMITTED all judgment to the now highly exalted Son of MAN, Jesus) I will render vengeance to my enemies, and will reward them that hate me. 42. I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenge upon the enemy. 43. Rejoice, O you nations, with his people: for he (Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ being backed by Yahweh) will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.” And it will be all to the glory of Yahweh the Father who provided or GAVE us His Son, Jesus, who in turn gave his own life of his own free will on the cross to become our Lord and Savior. Let us move on to another famous Oneness and Trinitarian verse of Scripture in the Old Testament that is used to try and force Jesus to BE Yahweh Himself. 2 Samuel 7:22. “Wherefore you are great, O LORD God: for there is none like you, neither is there any God beside you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.” You already know the Oneness and Trinitarian interpretation of this verse OUT of its CONTEXT so allow me to give you my interpretation of this verse IN its CONTEXT. I will first give you my interpretation of 2 Samuel 7:22 being alone and then we will read the context. Here is my own paraphrased interpretation of 2 Samuel 7:22. “Wherefore you are great, O LORD. Until my Lord there is none in the past like You, According to all that we have heard [In the past] with our ears, none is God except You,” Now let us read the context to see if this interpretation agrees with the context and the rest of God’s word as well. We will begin with verse 11 where Yahweh is speaking to King David in a vision. There are also several Aleph Tav hidden prophecies of Messiah Jesus who is My Lord or whom Yahweh MADE Lord after the cross. 2 Samuel 7:11-22. “And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and (I, Yahweh) have caused you (Speaking of King David) to rest from all your enemies. Also, the LORD tells you that he will make you a house. (I will dwell in the house of Yahweh forever. This last phrase LITERALLY reads “Yahweh tells you THAT HOUSE he SHALL MAKE for you Yahweh” So we see TWO persons named Yahweh. In other verses we find that Yahweh GIVES His Son Jesus His very one name Yahweh AFTER the cross to rule for Yahweh in the NAME OF Yahweh) 12. And when your days are fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will SET UP your (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) seed after you, which shall proceed out of your bowels, and I will establish (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) his kingdom. (You can see how Jesus is Yahweh’s WORKMANSHIP as opposed to being Yahweh Himself) 13. He shall build a house for my name, (Or to my glory) and I will establish the (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) throne of his kingdom forever. 14. I WILL BE his Father, and he SHALL BE my Son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: (Jesus LEARNED obedience. Jesus was TAUGHT how to refuse evil and choose the GOOD during his childhood. All children under the age of accountability are not accountable for their sins. We know for certain that Jesus did NOT sin during the days of his ministry) 15. But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you. 16. And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you: your throne shall be established forever. 17. According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David. 18. Then went king David in, (Speaking of in the VISION) and sat before the LORD, (Yahweh) and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? (Or who, I, my Lord, Yahweh. Or Yahweh who is he that is your Lord speaking PROPHETICALLY) and what is my house, that You have brought me hitherto? (David is asking Yahweh what this vision means, as in, why. Yahweh, am I being compared to my Lord who will be with You in the future?) 19. And THIS (Speaking of the yet future of making a human being Lord) was yet a small thing in Your sight, O Lord GOD; (My Lord, Yahweh. The word God is the four Hebrew letters YHWH. So this phrase could read And THIS my Lord was yet a small thing in your eyes Yahweh) but You have SPOKEN also in Your servant's house for a great while TO COME. And is THIS the manner of man, O Lord GOD? (Or And THIS succession of MAN [To be made] my Lord, Yahweh [Is also for a great while to come. The Hebrew word translated as “manner” means custom and its root meaning is SUCCESSION) 20. And what can David say more unto You? For You, Lord GOD, know Your (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) servant. 21. For Your word's sake, and according to Your own heart, have You done (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) all these great things, to make (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) Your servant know them. (Or Yahweh, You have done THIS to make Your Messiah Jesus Your servant known to them. Now read my own paraphrase version of verse 22 again) 22. WHEREFORE (Or for this reason) O LORD. Until my Lord there is none in the past like You, According to all that we have heard [In the past] with our ears, none is God except You,” And as you continue reading the context below verse 22 as prophecy you will see a prophecy prophesying to Yahweh’s yet future Messiah to read this prophecy as a PRAYER to Yahweh. You will see that King David said to Yahweh that Yahweh REVEALS the God of Israel to him. Remember that the name Israel means he shall RULE AS God. Let us go ahead and read 2 Samuel 7:25-29. Again, I will translate Aleph Tav as ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus. 2 Samuel 7:25-29. “And now, O LORD God, the word that You have spoken concerning Your servant, (The LITERAL translation reads “And now Yahweh, ELOHIM the word which You spoke ON your servant.” In other words, in the beginning, was the word and the word was TOWARD God and ELOHIM was the word spoken by Yahweh ON His Servant, Messiah Jesus to be MADE Lord and God of the whole earth during the world yet to come) and concerning his house, establish it forever, and do as thou hast said. 26. And let Your NAME be magnified (Or and he shall be magnified NAME of You) forever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God over Israel: (Or the SAYING shall be Yahweh of the host, Elohim over Israel, meaning Yahweh over the host in Heaven and Messiah Jesus God over Israel. To THIS END was Messiah Jesus BORN) and let the house of Your servant David be established before You. (NOT King David, but rather, Your servant Messiah Jesus be established before You. The LITERAL reads he shall become established to face of You. And that means that Jesus is exalted to be seated at the right hand of Yahweh’s side on Yahweh’s throne. Jesus CAME to be existing AS God after the cross which is exactly what Philippians 2:6-11 teaches us in the ORIGINAL Greek. Never before Jesus did Yahweh share His glory to such a degree. Nor will Yahweh ever do it again because there will be no need. Jesus is the FIRST and the LAST to be exalted to such a high position as second in command to only have Yahweh Himself above him) 27. For You, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, have revealed to your servant, (Or You Yahweh have REVEALED God of Israel Your servant to [me] Your servant [King David]) saying, I will build you a house: THEREFORE, have Your servant found in (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) his HEART to PRAY this prayer unto You. 28. And now, O Lord GOD, You are that God and Your words be true, and You have promised (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) this goodness unto Your servant: (Or You have promised this goodness unto (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) Your servant) 29. THEREFORE now let it please you to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever before you: for you, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with your blessing let the house of your servant be blessed forever.” I am going to skip 1 Chronicles 17:5 because it is the same as 2 Samuel 7:22 that we just covered. And I am also going to skip all of the “Holy One of Israel” verses in this particular study but I will cover them in another study. For you see, most of the “Holy One of Israel” verses actually refer to the future Messiah Jesus as being the Holy One of Israel. This brings us to Psalm 86:10 on the list of the 25 verses used by Oneness Pentecostal Christians to try and prove that Jesus IS the ONE God in ONE person of the Old Testament. Psalm 86:10. “For You are great, and do wondrous things: You are God alone.” Again, as I have said many times when we read verses of Scripture OUT of their context they may SEEM to be saying something that they are NOT TRULY saying. Or more precisely, verses of Scripture can be FORCED to say something that they are NOT TRULY saying. Yes, this Scripture IS, INDEED, saying that Yahweh is God ALONE but it is NOT saying that Jesus IS Yahweh. For you see, the one praying this prayer TO Yahweh is King David who is also a PROPHET. And Psalm 86 is a PROPHECY of Jesus praying this same prayer in the future. So Jesus is praying TO Yahweh his God and Father saying YOU are great and do wondrous things, YOU are God ALONE. So then, this verse actually PROVES that Jesus is NOT Yahweh Himself in the flesh, as in, the PERSON of Jesus himself is NOT Yahweh. Yes, Yahweh did, indeed, come and DWELL IN the flesh OF Jesus but God Himself is NOT a MAN or the Son OF MAN according to Numbers 23:19 and Hosea 11:9. In the CONTEXT of Psalm 86:10, we also see that Yahweh is AMONG the Gods as being God ALONE. I will explain what this means in a moment. So what this verse is saying is that Yahweh is the Almighty the ONLY Creator God and none of the other Gods are like Yahweh who ALONE in ONE person is THE ONLY TRUE God. Please read Psalm 86:8-13. “Among the gods, there is none like unto You, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto your works. (Now, IF there are no other gods, then how can the one TRUE God be AMONG the gods? These are the ELOHIM gods or the angels that Yahweh SET to be gods over different parts of His creation. Keep in mind that the word God is a TITLE in much the same way that the word King is a TITLE) 9. All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord; and shall glorify Your name. 10. For You are great and do wondrous things: You are God alone. 11. Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. (Or make our heart ONE. In another psalm Yahweh says, I have found my servant David, a MAN AFTER my own heart which is ALSO a PROPHECY of Jesus. For you see, it was Jesus whose SOUL was NOT left in Hell, according to the fulfillment of these prophecies in Acts 13:33-37, another Psalm 16:10, and Acts 2:27-31) 12. I will praise You, O Lord MY God, with all my heart: and I will glorify Your name forevermore. 13. For great is Your mercy toward me: and You have delivered my SOUL from the lowest hell.” Let us move to the next verse which is Isaiah 37:16. And as you read the verses in the Old Testament read them as BOTH history AND as being PROPHECY. For you see, in eternity PAST Yahweh was ALONE and by Himself. Yahweh has always been and will ALWAYS be one God in ONE person. But the Father has BEGAT Himself a Son who has JOINED Him on His throne. So the “history” side of Isaiah 37:16 is Yahweh being called the God of Israel. But the “prophecy” side of Isaiah 37:16 is TWO Gods ruling together in UNITY as one God or as one kingdom. This is NOT the doctrine of the Trinity because the doctrine of the Trinity wrongly teaches that the Father and the Son ALWAYS existed and that is NOT what the Bible ITSELF teaches us. Please read Isaiah 37:16. “O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwells between the cherubims, YOU are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: You have made heaven and earth.” The pronoun “YOU” that I highlighted in blue is speaking of BOTH Yahweh of host AND the God of Israel as being TWO separate PERSONS united as God. Then the next pronoun “you” highlighted in yellow is referring to the now highly exalted Son of MAN, Jesus who was MADE Lord or God of Israel and all the kingdoms of the earth during the world yet to come. And the third pronoun “You” that I highlighted in orange is Yahweh the Father who is the creator of (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) heaven and (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) earth. The LITERAL translation reads “you, he” as opposed to using the pronoun “YOU”. The pronoun “you” refers back to Yahweh of host and the pronoun “he” refers back to God of Israel, the one dwelling with or between the cherubims. TWO Gods working together as ONE but NOT always two Gods in the eternity past. In the next verse, we can see that Yahweh is being asked to hear the prayer of the people, and also the God of Israel, Messiah Jesus, is being asked to hear the prayer of the people as well. Isaiah 37:17. “Incline Your ear, O LORD, and hear; open your eyes, O LORD, and see: AND hear (Or and ALSO hear you) (ALEPH TAV Messiah Jesus) all the words of Sennacherib, which has sent to reproach the living God.” Now, this next verse is probably the most famous verse of all that is used by both Oneness Christians and Trinitarian Christians to try and prove that Jesus IS Yahweh Himself. But again they have taken this verse OUT of its CONTEXT and they have INCORRECTLY INTERPRETED Isaiah 42:8 to mean that Yahweh would NEVER share His Glory with anyone EVER. Isaiah 42:8. “I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.”
Can you not see that the Oneness and Trinitarian “interpretation” of this verse which they claim means that Yahweh will NEVER share His glory with anyone CONTRADICTS the FULFILLMENT of this prophecy of Yahweh SHARING His glory in the future with His chosen servant, the Son of MAN, Jesus? So this verse should be interpreted that Yahweh will not give His glory to any OTHER person than His chosen servant whom He upholds and whom He has ANOINTED. For you see, that is what the CONTEXT of Isaiah 42:8 clearly teaches us. Please read Isaiah 42:1-9. “BEHOLD my SERVANT, whom I UPHOLD; my ELECT, (Or my CHOSEN one) in whom my soul delights; (To all Oneness Christians, Yahweh has a soul and Jesus has a soul) I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. (Yahweh COMMITTED all judgment unto the Son of man, according to John 5:22-17 and Jude 1:15) 2. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. 3. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. 4. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he has set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. 5. Thus says God the LORD, He that created the heavens, and stretched them out; He that spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of it; He that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: (Now we see that Yahweh changes from talking ABOUT Messiah Jesus to now talking TO Messiah Jesus to teach the Son of MAN that the Scriptures testify of him as being the Messiah prophesied to come) 6. I the LORD have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you, and give you for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; 7. To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. 8. I am the LORD: (Or I am Yahweh the one who CALLED you in righteousness) that is my name: (Or I am Yahweh and THAT one whom I have called in righteousness is my NAME) and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. 9. BEHOLD, (Or pay attention and understand) the former things are come to pass, (Or the way things used to be in the PAST are coming to an END) and NEW THINGS do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.” And one of those NEW THINGS is Yahweh SHARING His GLORY with the SERVANT after His own heart whom Yahweh has CHOSEN to highly exalt to make His FIRSTBORN Son higher than the Kings of the earth. To this END Jesus was BORN to be made the King of Israel. Yahweh DECLARED or prophesied the END from the beginning. So read John 1:1 as PROPHECY. In the beginning, was the word of prophecy and the word of prophecy was TOWARD God or within Almighty God as God's plan of salvation toward a certain goal. And the word of prophecy was the word “God”. In other words, in A beginning and NOT the beginning in the eternity past, God PROPHESIED there to become A God to replace Lucifer as the God over the earth to rule FOR Yahweh. The prophecy in Isaiah starts with a CHILD being BORN first. And THEN a Son is GIVEN. And then the END of the prophecy is the Son being GIVEN a NAME to be called the mighty God WHEN the government will be LAID upon his shoulders in the world to come. So then, the spoken word of prophecy was made flesh FIRST. Then the Son of MAN was MADE Christ or the anointed servant of Yahweh at his baptism by John the Baptist. And then the Son of MAN was GIVEN to suffer and die on the cross. And then the Son of MAN, Jesus was MADE Lord AFTER the cross to become the God of the whole earth in the world yet to come. It was AFTER the cross that Thomas CALLED Jesus by the TITLE my Lord and my God. It was AFTER the cross that the Son of MAN, Jesus OBTAINED a NAME more excellent than the angels. It was AFTER the cross that Jesus JOINED Yahweh on Yahweh’s throne. Let us move on to the next Oneness and Trinitarian verse of Scripture in the Old Testament. Isaiah 43:10,11. “You are my witnesses, says the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me, there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me, there is no savior.” Again, if you have been told over and over that the ONLY thing that this verse can mean is that Yahweh alone is the ONLY God and the ONLY Savior then it is hard to see any other interpretation of these two verses of Scripture when viewed out of their context and the rest of God’s word. BUT if that is your “interpretation” of this passage of Scripture then you must concede the Yahweh was FORMED. So please bear with me while I show you that there is ANOTHER interpretation of these verses that does NOT make Yahweh to BE a MAN which contradicts Numbers 23:19 and Hosea 11:9, I will explain verse 10 first and then we will read some more CONTEXT.
Isaiah 43:10.
“You are my witnesses, says the LORD, and My servant whom I have chosen: that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: (Remember that I said that the verb “am” is NOT in the original text. So to me, this verse is speaking of TWO separate persons where the one person was FORMED to become [A] God BY Yahweh doing the forming of Messiah Jesus to rule FOR Yahweh during the world yet to come for 1000 years. So this verse should read “That you may know and believe Me and understand I [and ALSO know, believe and understand] he”) before me there was no God FORMED, neither shall there be after me.”
The Hebrew word translated as “before” also means “FACE”. In other words, to the face of Yahweh, as in, to sit at the right hand of Yahweh on Yahweh’s throne there was no God FORMED to be in this high of a position and neither will there be again. The pronoun “me” is not in the original text. Also, this verse could read Before “him” there was no God FORMED neither shall there be after “him”. Let us read Isaiah 43:10 in its immediate context and allow me a little freedom to explore OTHER meanings of these Hebrew words in these verses so you can see the TRUE sound biblical mean of ALL the “I AM HE” and the “I AM” verses of Scripture. For certain we know that this verse is talking about a God being FORMED and we know that Yahweh Himself was NOT formed.
Please read Isaiah 43:10-15.
“You are my witnesses, says the LORD, and My servant whom I have chosen: that you may know and believe me, and understand that I [am] he: (And we know that the SERVANT that Yahweh chose is Jesus. So Yahweh is saying “That SERVANT that I have chosen I want you to believe ME. For you see, my servant will speak MY words, in MY name. So I not only want you to believe ME I also want you to understand and believe my SERVANT. Believe I Yahweh and believe he my servant”) before me (Or before him) there was no God FORMED, neither shall there be after me. (Or neither shall there ever be another God formed after him The Hebrew word translated as “BEFORE” also means FACE, as in, no God formed this CLOSE to me. No matter how you interpret this verse there IS a God being FORMED) 11. I, even I, am the LORD; (Or I Yahweh and even he ALSO Yahweh) and beside me, there is no savior. (Meaning I Yahweh, the FIRST Yahweh am the CREATOR of the LAST Yahweh, the God I FORMED for you, and apart from me or without me there is NO Savior. I have CHOSEN my Servant whom I have raised in righteousness to BE your Savior. Know, understand, and BELIEVE your Messiah for he will speak my words in my name. I speak, He speaks. I and he are ONE Yahweh, as in one Yahweh is UNITY ruling together. I Yahweh in heaven and he Yahweh on the earth. He is my Son whom I have highly EXALTED so HONOR him EVEN as you honor ME) 12. I have declared, and have saved, (Or and I have SAVED BY way OF what I have DECLARED to come to pass) and I have shown, when there was no strange god among you: (Or I have declared and shown you in my word of prophecy BEFORE there was not yet a strange God among you whom I have FORMED from the womb) THEREFORE, you are my witnesses, says the LORD, that I am God. (Or I Yahweh am that strange God that I FORMED by performing my own word of PROPHECY. Here him because you desired a King that you could see. Obey him for he is my servant whom I have EXALTED to be your King and your God) 13. Yea, before the day was I am he; (Or before the day became that I FORMED you a visible God, I was alone, and now I command you to hear him. I am the FIRST Yahweh who had in my mind and plan BEFORE the day was to FORM the LAST Yahweh, a MAN whom I would highly exalt to rule FOR me in MY NAME for 1000 years. Behold your God that I FORMED from the womb of the Virgin Mary) and there is none that can deliver out of My hand: I will work, and who shall let IT? (Speaking of the WORKMANSHIP of Yahweh the ONLY TRUE God who ALONE is the Father, the ONE God in ONE person who exalts and SETS the ones He chooses to be Gods under and subject to Him. Figuratively, Jesus is the hand of Yahweh. Jesus is pictured as the “instrument” in God’s hand. Jesus is Yahweh’s sword and new threshing instrument to cut down evil) 14. Thus says the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake, I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships. (Or Thus says Yahweh, For your SAKE I have sent your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel to Babylon [And through My hand, Jesus, I] have brought down all their nobles and the Chaldeans whose cry is in the ships) 15. I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.”
Or I am Yahweh the CREATOR of your Holy one, ISRAEL your King. Remember that I said that the name “Israel” means one who RULES AS God? Here is how E-Sword defines the name “Israel”.
H3478 יִשְׂרָאֵל yiśrâ'êl yis-raw-ale' From H8280 and H410; he will rule as God; Jisrael, a symbolical name of Jacob; also (typically) of his posterity: - Israel.
So both the name Israel and the name Jacob mean “He will RULE AS God”. There are two verses in the Bible where God changed Jacob’s name to Israel to no more be called Jacob. And both of those verses are what I call the ALEPH and TAV verses. The Aleph and Tav are the first and the last letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Jesus said that he is the FIRST and the LAST. Could have Jesus been referring to the untranslated Aleph and Tav as TESTIFYING of him since Jesus also said that the Scripture testifies of him? I believe that this is one of the meanings of Jesus saying “I am the FIRST and the LAST”. The Aleph and the Tav are found together by themselves some 7,000 times in the Bible and they are rarely translated. And many times you can simply translate the Aleph and the Tav as Messiah, Jesus, because you can clearly see that the verse is a type or a figure pointing to Jesus. Let us go ahead and read the verse in Genesis 35:9-12 where God changes the name of Jacob to Israel.
Genesis 35:9-12.
“And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram and blessed him. 10. And God said unto him, Your name is Jacob: Your name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be your name: and He called (ALEPH TAV or Messiah, Jesus) his name Israel. (Or He shall call his NAME He shall rule AS God which is what the name Israel means) 11. And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of you, and kings shall come out of your loins; 12. And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to you (Speaking of Jacob whom Yahweh gave a NEW NAME, Israel which means he who shall rule AS God) I will give it, and to your seed after you will I give (ALEPH TAV or Messiah, Jesus) the land.” And the CONTEXT of Isaiah 43:10,11 in Isaiah 43:1 says that God NAMED His SERVANT Israel. Read the Old Testament as BOTH the history and as PROPHECY. There are many types, shadows, and figures in the Old Testament “history” that point prophetically to Messiah Jesus in the future. Please read Isaiah 43:1,18,19. “1. But now thus says the LORD that created you, O Jacob, and He that FORMED you, O Israel, (Prophetically speaking, Jacob represents Yahweh first begetting Himself a HUMAN Son and then Yahweh MADE or FORMED His human Son to be ISRAEL, he who shall RULE AS God in the world yet to come. Remember that Jesus is reading the Scripture as testifying of him. So Yahweh is speaking TO His Messiah Jesus through the Scriptures saying) Fear not: for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name; (Or by your NEW NAME, Israel who will rule as God for me as the God of Israel) you are mine... ...18. Remember you NOT the former things, neither consider the things of old. 19. BEHOLD, I will do a NEW THING; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a WAY in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” Jesus is the WAY that Yahweh made. Jesus is the Lamb that Yahweh provided. Jesus is the NAME that Yahweh gave to be saved. When you understand the bigger picture that ONE-THIRD of the ELOHIM is NO FURTHER Elohim Gods WITH Yahweh because they rebelled AGAINST Yahweh then you can see OTHER meanings of these Old Testament verses of Scripture. Again, I am skipping over the “I AM HE” verses because I have already covered them in the studies “THE 'I AM HE' VERSES OF THE OLD TESTAMENT” and “THE 'I AM HE' VERSES OF THE NEW TESTAMENT!” Isaiah 44:8. “Fear you not, neither be afraid: have not I told you from that time, and have declared it? You are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any.” To me, the translator incorrectly added the word “yea”, and thus, the whole last phrase SEEMS to be both a question AND an answer. But, in truth, the whole last two phrases are ONE single question and NOT a question AND ad answer. Let me explain what I mean by this. The subject matter is about NOT being afraid. Not being afraid of WHAT? Not being afraid to TRUST Jesus as their God which they asked for. You see, Israel ASKED for a KING to rule over them. Israel did not what to hear God Himself talk to them. Here is my own paraphrase translation of Isaiah 44:8 to help you better understand what I am trying to show to you. My own paraphrase translation of Isaiah 44:8. “Fear you NOT, neither be afraid: have not I told you from that time, and have declared it? You are even my witnesses. Is there a DEITY APART FROM me [is there] no ROCK that I do not KNOW?” And the obvious answer is NO, so do not FEAR to obey my Messiah Jesus for I have MADE him Lord over you to rule FOR my in MY name. In the verses that follow, Yahweh goes on to talk about how foolish man-made idol gods are before He introduces the REAL God that He Himself FORMED from the WOMB speaking of Jesus. Let us skip down to Isaiah 44:24. Isaiah 44:24. “Thus says the LORD, your redeemer, and He that formed you from the womb, I am the LORD that makes all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens ALONE; that spreadeth abroad the earth BY MYSELF;” And we know that Jesus was FORMED from the WOMB of the Virgin Mary. As we continue reading in verse 26, the context of verse 24, we can see that Yahweh CONFIRMS the word of His “servant” speaking of Jesus and that Yahweh PERFORMS the council of His messengers speaking of the saints in Jesus Christ. And in verse 28, Yahweh calls His servant Cyrus His SHEPHERD. In the next chapter of Isaiah, we can see even more so that King Cyrus is a type or figure of Jesus. But before we read Isaiah chapter 45, let us read the five famous Oneness and Trinitarians verses of Scripture out of their context first. Isaiah 45:5. “I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded you, though you have not known me:” Isaiah 45: 6.
“That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.” Isaiah 45:18. “For thus says the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD, and there is none else.” Isaiah 45:21. “Tell you, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who has declared this from ancient time? Who has told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Savior; there is none beside me.” Isaiah 45:22. “Look unto me, and be you saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” Again, when you read these verses out of their context and you are told over and over that they mean that is no other God but ONE God. Therefore. they wrongly conclude that Jesus MUST BE the ONE God of the Old Testament. And when a Christian is dogmatically taught such a wrong conclusion, then it can be hard to see any other meaning to all the “NO God BESIDE ME” verses of Scripture in the Old Testament. But when you read the CONTEXT we can clearly see that there IS another God, as in, there is another God being PROPHESIED to come into being. And there are also Elohim Gods that are no longer UPRIGHT Gods speaking of Lucifer and the fallen angels. So then, let us read these five verses that are used by both Oneness Christians and Trinitarian Christians to try and FORCE Jesus to BE Yahweh Himself so that you can see that King Cyrus is a type or figure of Jesus. In the last chapter, Yahweh called King Cyrus His SHEPHERD who will perform all of Yahweh’s pleasures. And we know that Jesus is called Yahweh’s shepherd as well. And in verse 1 in Isaiah chapter 45, we see King Cyrus being called Yahweh’s ANOINTED and that Yahweh will hold his right hand. Isaiah chapter 45:1-25. “Thus says the LORD TO His ANOINTED, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; (Here we see Yahweh talking TO His ANOINTED King Cyrus to reassure him that his God is with him which agrees with the prophecies of Jesus in Isaiah 41:13 and Isaiah 42:6) and I will loosen the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; 2. I will go before you, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: 3. And I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, (The treasures of the unjust are laid up for the just in the world to come) that you may know that I, the LORD, which call you by your name, am the God of Israel. (The verb “am” is not in the original text. The LITERAL translation reads “I Yahweh, the one calling in NAME of YOU the God of Israel”. Yahweh is prophesying TO His ANOINTED Shepherd calling his NAME the God of Israel) 4. For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called you by your name: I have surnamed you, though you have not known me. (To me, this verse proves that Jesus did not literally pre-exist in eternity past because Jesus did not know Yahweh. Jesus was TAUGHT the Scriptures morning by morning as Yahweh his Creator visited him through through the Holy Spirit, according to Isaiah 50:4-6 and Hebrews 2:6) 5. I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though you have not known me: (This verse LITERALLY means that there are NO FURTHER Elohim except me, I am girding you though you have not known me. Remember and be aware of the fact that Lucifer and ONE-THIRD of the Elohim rebelled and made war against Yahweh. So Almighty God is in the process of dethroning Satan and PROMOTING another to take the place of Lucifer as the God of the whole earth) 6. That they may know (Speaking of the fallen Elohim) from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. (The phrase “none beside me” means that there will be no God APART FROM and without Yahweh and therefore the fallen Elohim will be NO FURTHER) 7. I form the light, and create darkness: (Or more precisely, I Yahweh FORM the LIGHT Speaking of Messiah Jesus and I Yahweh CUT DOWN darkness speaking of Lucifer and the fallen angels) I make peace, and create evil: (Or I Yahweh make PEACE or I bring WAR to an END for all eternity future And I Yahweh CUT DOWN and destroy EVIL for all eternity) I the LORD do all these things. 8. Drop down, you heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: (Speaking of the second coming of Jesus with all of his saints and his army of angels to execute the WRATH of Yahweh) let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it. (Yahweh begat, formed and created Jesus FROM the womb to be the salvation of whosoever believes in the Son of the living God as the atonement for their sins) 9. Woe unto him that strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashions it, What make you? Or your work, He has no hands? (Remember the prophecy in Jeremiah 1:5,6 saying I can not speak I am just a CHILD and Yahweh says do not say you are a child, I am sending you and you are to speak the words that I will instruct you to speak. I believe that Yahweh is speaking TO His shepherd Jesus in these verses when Jesus was a child) 10. Woe unto him that says unto his father, What beget you? Or to the woman, What have you brought forth? (I can imagine Jesus as a child when he first found out that Joseph was not his biological father and Yahweh is comforting him and at the same time teaching Jesus as a child to NOT strive with his Maker) 11. Thus says the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, (Or thus says Yahweh [TO] the Holy One of Israel, the one making of him) Ask me of things to come concerning my sons and concerning the work of my hands command you, me. 12. I have made the earth, and created man upon it: (Or I Yahweh have made the earth and I have created a HUMAN upon it or I have created a MAN upon it) I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. 13. I have raised him up in righteousness, (Speaking of the MAN that Yahweh created upon the earth to BE the God of Israel to rule FOR Yahweh for 1000 years in the world to come) and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, says the LORD of hosts. 14. Thus says the LORD, The labor of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto you, and they shall be yours: they shall come after you; in chains, they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto you, they shall make supplication unto you, saying, Surely God is IN you; and there is none else, there is no God. (Or surely EL is IN YOU My Messiah Jesus whom I have SET to be God of Israel and NO FURTHER the Elohim fallen gods no more) 15. Verily (Or TRULY) you are a God that hides yourself, O God of Israel, the Savior. (To me, this verse could be interpreted as Jesus being a HUMBLE God as opposed to Lucifer being a BOASTFUL God and Yahweh is well pleased with His workmanship of raising up a righteous God. Or the first half of the verse could be interpreted as the “invisible hidden” Yahweh and the last half of verse 15 as being Jesus, the Savior and the God of Israel that Yahweh made Lord and Savior after the cross) 16. They (Speaking of the FALLEN Elohim, Lucifer, and the fallen angels) shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols. (Speaking of the devils causing or deceiving humans to make idols to the devils) 17. But Israel shall be saved IN the LORD with an everlasting salvation: (When a person is saved IN Jesus they are ALSO IN Yahweh the Father as well) you shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end. 18. For thus says the LORD that created the heavens; God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He has established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD, and there is none else. (Yahweh is one God in ONE PERSON and Yahweh ALONE created the universe ALONE and by Himself and there was no other being with Yahweh in the eternity past BEFORE God created ANYTHING. But to me, this verse was intended to be speaking of the RE-CREATION of the earth in view of the following verses. So again, Yahweh is the ONE true God in one person who restored the earth alone and by Himself) 19. I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: (So the earth was already created but it BECAME void and DARKNESS came over the face of the earth. So God needed to get things RIGHT once again) I said NOT unto the seed of Jacob, Seek you me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right. 20. Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, you that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image and prays unto a god that cannot save. 21. Tell you, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who has declared this from ancient time? Who has told it from that time? Have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Savior; there is none beside me. (This verse is saying that Yahweh Himself has DONE all of this. We KNOW that there IS a God beside Yahweh after the cross so this verse is saying I Yahweh have prophesied this from the foundation of the earth and APART FROM me there is no God without me. Philippians 2:8-11 teaches us that Yahweh gave Jesus a NAME and every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord TO the GLORY of Almighty God Yahweh the Father) 22. Look unto me, (Or look unto him the Savior I raised up for you) and be you saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. 23. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. 24. Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. 25. In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.” Yahweh glorified the Son of MAN, Jesus, and in the world yet to come the NOW eternal Son of God will bring GLORY to his God and Father Yahweh. And this next verse in Isaiah 46 is about Messiah Jesus bring Yahweh GLORY but both Oneness Christians and Trinitarian Christians use Isaiah to try and force Jesus to be Yahweh Himself. Isaiah 46:9-13.
“Remember the former things of old: (Or more precisely, be mindful of ancient times. In other words, be aware that there were ancient times before the human race was created) for I [am] God, [and there is] none else; [I am] God, [and there is] none like me, (There are a lot of added words by the translators. A word-for-word translation is “For I El or I God none else God none like me.” But the two Hebrew words translated as “none” are two completely different Hebrew words. So to me, this literally reads “For I God none further Elohim no further like me.” In other words, Yahweh is talking about Lucifer and the fallen Elohim. Let us read it all together. “Be aware of FORMER things of ancient times that I [am] God [and] no further the ELOHIM [are] no further like me”) 10. Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: (In other words, Yahweh is making some changes from the ancient times. And that PROCESS of making changes will continue to the final Day of Judgment. Lucifer is being dethroned and another is being PROMOTED to replace him. Jesus will execute the wrath of God) 11. Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the MAN that executes my counsel from a far country: (Or calling the Eagle from the East risen far off the earth, the MAN that executes my counsel [as in, Yahweh’s commands are his commands) yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. (Or what Yahweh has PROPHESIED Yahweh will PERFORM and bring it to pass) 12. Hearken unto me, you stouthearted, (Or hearken unto me you bulled headed. The word “heart” carries the meaning of the “mind”, the way of thinking) that are far from righteousness: 13. I bring near My righteousness; it shall not be far off, and My salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation IN Zion for (Or OF, IN) Israel (Meaning He who will RULE AS God) my glory.” Jesus is Yahweh’s GLORY. And that last verse in Isaiah to try and make Jesus be Yahweh Himself teaches us that God will not give His glory to anyone OTHER than whom He has chosen to give His glory. Isaiah 48:11. “For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? (Or To the END, [even] to the END for how should my name be SLAIN) [and] I will not give my glory unto another.” In other words, Yahweh is saying that he will refine Israel to the end, to the end for how should His name speaking of Yahweh human Son, Jesus is SLAIN in vain? I will give my glory to no other [but my Son in whom I am well pleased]. So, in conclusion, there is but ONE TRUE Almighty creator God in ONE PERSON who NOW has His FIRSTBORN Son among MANY brethren. And Yahweh the Father has highly exalted the Son of MAN, Jesus to JOIN Him on His throne to rule FOR Him in Yahweh’s NAME for 1000 years in the world yet to come.
