101-2. Who is the ONE TRUE God? DOWNLOAD to SAVE as a PDF Doc to read OFFLINE. 101-2. WHO is the ONE TRUE GOD? Chapter 2. If you answer this one question incorrectly, then you will also incorrectly interpret Scriptures in God’s word that will CONTRADICT other verses of Scripture in the Bible. All Christians agree that there is only ONE TRUE God, but not all Christians AGREE as to WHO is the one true God. Let me explain what I mean by this by asking some questions that I will number as categories. #1. Is the ONE TRUE God one God in ONE person? #2. Is the ONE TRUE God one God in TWO persons? #3. Is the ONE TRUE God on God in THREE persons? Again, if you pick the wrong category, then you will find that some Scriptures will NOT AGREE with the category that you picked. But if you pick the correct category, then ALL of the Scriptures in the Bible will AGREE with that category. So then, HOW do we KNOW for sure which category is the TRUTH? How can we know the TRUTH? How can we correctly interpret the Scriptures? Let us begin chapter two in this study in God’s word by learning how to use some BASIC FACTS found in the Scriptures as opposed to the use of the INTERPRETATIONS of verses of Scriptures that are taken out of their context. Here are some basic facts. The word “God” is found in 3893 different verses of Scripture, for a total of 4473 times in the King James Bible, according to the concordance in E-Sword. The word “God” is translated in the Old Testament from three different Hebrew words. The three different words used in the Bible that are translated as God are as follows: אל written in Hebrew and pronounced as El in English. אלוה written in Hebrew and pronounced as Eloah in English. And אלהים written in Hebrew and pronounced as Elohiym or Elohim in English. The first Hebrew word “El” is the two-letter root of the other two Hebrew words translated as the English word “God”. In other words, the root is the foundation for the other two that are derived from it. And thus, all three Hebrew words have the SAME BASIC meaning. But in the New Testament there is only one Greek word, the Greek word “Theos” that is translated as the English word “God”. Now all Christians know and understand that Satan is called “the god” of this world by TITLE in 2 Corinthians 4:4. I use the word “TITLE” because all Christians know and understand that Satan is NOT the ONE TRUE God who alone is the Creator of the entire Universe. But yet, BOTH Almighty God the Father and Satan are CALLED “theos”. And the Greek word “theos” is translated as God with a capital “G” when referring to Almighty God, and translated as “god” with a lowercase “g” when referring to another who is NOT the Almighty God. And thus, the Bible translators have correctly used a lowercase “g” in the word “god” when referring to Satan, who we all know is God’s ENEMY, according to Matthew 13:39, Revelation 12:9, and many other verses of Scripture. So then, that old serpent in the Garden of Eden is that great Dragon called the Devil and Satan who is NOT the ONE TRUE God. But yet he is CALLED by the title THE GOD of this world with the definite article “THE” before the Greek word “Theos”. And according to the “general” widely accepted rules of interpretation of the Scriptures, if the definite article “the” appears before the word “God” then the word “God” is referring to the ONE TRUE God. But as you can plainly see, the “general” rules for interpreting the Scriptures are not always true in every situation or in every case. So what is my point? My point is that all of the Bibles that we read in English are TRANSLATIONS. And thus, all translations of the Bible are subject to possible ERRORS in translation made by the translators. For you see, we all have an OPINION of WHO God is and one’s own personal interpretation of any translator as to who God can and often does INFLUENCE his or her translations of the Bible. Let me see if I can adequately explain what I mean by a translator's BIAS influencing his or her translation of the Bible. Some of you may be familiar with the “denominational” belief of some Christians called Calvinists and Reformed Theology Christians. They believe that everything that happens whether it is good or EVIL happens because God ORDAINED it to happen. In other words, some Christians sincerely believe that the ONE TRUE God CREATED EVIL. And one of the verses of Scripture that they use to TRY to prove that God CREATED evil is Isaiah 45:7. Let us go ahead and read that verse of Scripture so that you can see the IMPORTANCE of looking up the word from which it was TRANSLATED. Isaiah 45:7. “I form the light, and CREATE DARKNESS: I make peace, and CREATE EVIL: I the LORD do all these things.” Now, the English TRANSLATION makes it appear as if Yahweh CREATED the DARKNESS and the EVIL in the world. But this is just one verse of Scripture. And while a Calvinist or a Reformed Theology Christian may not see anything WRONG with this TRANSLATION, I myself was never comfortable with this verse of Scripture. What I mean by not being “comfortable” is that deep inside of me I SENSED that something was not right. I thought to myself, maybe, I am interpreting it the wrong way. But no matter how I read the King James Version or TRANSLATIONS of this verse of Scripture it always seemed to be saying that God is the creator of EVIL. Again, I knew that other verses in the Bible clearly teach us that God is GOOD and in Him is NO darkness at all. And God saw that what He created was VERY GOOD. So this verse in Isaiah 45:7 CONTRADICTED my understanding of God and who God is from those other verses of Scripture. And one day I simply ASKED God what that verse in Isaiah 45:7 means. God answered me immediately and said, “Look it up”. I thought to myself, “What is the point, the word create means create. What else can the word ‘create’ mean?” God answered my thought and said, “Look it up”. So I looked up the Hebrew word translated as create in Isaiah 45:7 expecting to find that it means create and created. But to my surprise I found that the Hebrew word “bara” has OTHER meanings. And when I saw that the Hebrew word “bara” ALSO means to CUT DOWN, I knew in an instant of time that the TRANSLATORS had made an ERROR in translating Isaiah 45:7. Let us go ahead and read that verse with the meaning “CUT DOWN” instead of the meaning “CREATE”. Isaiah 45:7 when it is CORRECTLY translated. “I form the LIGHT, and CUT DOWN DARKNESS: I make PEACE, and CUT DOWN EVIL: I the Yahweh do all these things.” Now, a Calvinist Christian would probably accuse me of CHANGING God’s word to fit my own personal belief of God as being a GOOD God in whom there is NO DARKNESS at all. For you see, some HARDCORE Calvinist Christians love their church TRADITION so much so that they argue that Jesus did NOT die for the sins of the WHOLE world. In other words, their man-made Calvinistic church doctrine that they were taught has blinded or calloused their MINDS lest the LIGHT of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ, who is the IMAGE OF God, should shine unto them. But they are not the ONLY Christians whose minds have been blinded by Satan. Remember the three categories that I listed by number at the beginning of this study? I will list them again with more information this time so you can see the three different categories of Christians concerning how each of these three groups of Christians DEFINE who God is. Category #1. Is the ONE TRUE God one God in ONE person? In other words, the Christians in category #1 DEFINE the one true God as being ONE God in ONE person who ALONE is the FATHER? Category #2. Is the ONE TRUE God one God in TWO persons? In other words, the Christians in category #2 DEFINE the one true God as being the one true God in TWO separate persons who are ONE in BEING? And those two persons are The Father AND His Son Jesus. And TOGETHER they make up the ONE TRUE God. Category #3. Is the ONE TRUE God one God in THREE persons? In other words, the Christians in category #3 DEFINE the one true God as being the one true God in THREE separate persons. They define the ONE TRUE God as being a Trinity Godhead made up of THREE separate persons? And those three separate persons in the ONE BEING are God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit? And all three persons are co-eternal and co-equal. And basically, all Christians fit into one of these three categories due to church TRADITION that they have been TAUGHT to believe. It is NOT that all church tradition is in error. But rather, only one church can be TRUE. So which category fits the best with what the Bible ITSELF teaches us when we use the UNDENIABLE FACTS over church TRADITION to define WHO the ONE TRUE God is? To me, category #1 AGREES with the WHOLE word of God which clearly teaches us that to us as Christians there is only ONE God, even the FATHER. And we all agree that the Father is ONE being in ONE person. Therefore, according to the Apostles’ DOCTRINE in 1 Corinthians 8:6, the ONE TRUE God is ONE God in ONE person who alone is the FATHER. Please read 1 Corinthians 8:4-7. “As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but ONE. (Or more correctly, there is only one TRUE God who ALONE in the Almighty and the Creator of everything that exists) 5. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there ARE many gods, and many lords,) 6. But to us there is but ONE God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in Him; and ONE Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. (Always remember to COMPARE Scripture with Scripture. And according to Acts 2:36 the ONE God in one person, Almighty God the Father, MADE the Son of MAN, Jesus, both Lord and Christ AFTER the cross and resurrection. So please know and understand that God MADE MANY other gods or Elohim to rule over the many different planets in the vast Universe. But SOME of those gods rebelled against El, the highest Elohim and waged a WAR against Him. So God devised a PLAN to END that war and made PEACE in the Universe and on earth. PEACE on earth and goodwill toward MEN. And part of God’s PLAN was to make ANOTHER god to be His WITNESS to the Elohim that WHAT He CREATES He creates PERFECT. For you see, Lucifer, the anointed Cherub falsely accused Yahweh of creating him with a sinful nature that caused him to wage a war against God) 7. Howbeit. there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.” Now, the context is about eating meat and how God CLEANSED all manners of meat, even the meat that is offered to idols. But the FACT remains that not ALL Christians have the understanding that God MADE or SET many of the angels to be mighty rulers or gods and lords. In fact, not all Christians believe that Satan is a REAL being. And not every Christian understands that God is at WAR. And even fewer Christians understand that the REASON God CREATED man in the first place is BECAUSE of His ENEMIES, according to Psalm 8:1-6, which we will cover in the next chapter. And one of the reasons for why they do not understand the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God is due to erroneous TRADITIONS which many church denominations wrongly believe are the truth. So the key to overcoming erroneous church TRADITIONS is allowing the Bible to speak for ITSELF as opposed to reading into verses of Scripture what church TRADITION has wrongly taught us. So let us dig a little deeper and look at the meanings of the three Hebrew words translated and the word God to see the OTHER meanings of those three words. Remember the WRONG TRANSLATION of the Hebrew word “bara” in Isaiah 45:7 in the KJV has caused some Christians to view God INCORRECTLY as a God who creates EVIL. But when we use the OTHER meaning of the Hebrew word “bara”, then we can see that the TRUE God formed the LIGHT to CUT DOWN the EVIL and to make PEACE. Here is how the concordance in E-Sword defines the Hebrew word “El”. The emphasis is mine. H410 אֵל 'êl ale Shortened from H352; strength; as adjective mighty; especially the Almighty (but used also of ANY deity): - God (god), X goodly, X great, idol, might (-y one), power, strong. Compare names in “-el.” Total KJV occurrences: 242. So then, the actual Hebrew word that is “translated:” as “God” with a capital “G” ALSO means “god” with a lowercase “g”. And thus, the Hebrew word “El” can refer to ANY deity who is NOT the ONE TRUE and ONLY Almighty God the ETERNAL DEITY who alone has always possessed immortality in Himself, according to 1 Timothy 6:13-16. Now, the first time that a word is used in the Bible is a good place to start to learn the Biblical meaning. And by Biblical I mean how the word is used MOST of the time. Please keep in mind that Satan is ALSO called a “theos” but that does NOT mean that Satan is the ONE TRUE God. There are MANY gods who were MADE or SET to be mighty rulers throughout the Universe, but there is only ONE TRUE God who made and set them to become gods under and subject to Him. Now, the first time that the Hebrew “El” is used is in Genesis chapter 14. So let us read Genesis 14:18-22. Genesis 14:18-22. “And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the MOST HIGH God. (Or the MOST HIGH El) 19. And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the MOST HIGH God, (Or the MOST HIGH El) possessor of heaven and earth: 20. And blessed be the MOST HIGH God, (Or the MOST HIGH El) which has delivered your enemies into your hand. And he gave him tithes of all. 21. And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to yourself. 22. And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up my hand unto the LORD, (Or I will lift up my hand unto Yahweh) MOST HIGH God, (Or the MOST HIGH El), the possessor of heaven and earth,” Here we can CLEARLY see that the Hebrew word “El” is referring to Yahweh who is called the MOST HIGH God. And thus, the translators have correctly translated the Hebrew word “El” as God with a capital “G” to refer to the ONE TRUE God who is the HIGHEST God. But we can also see a FIGURE of Jesus as being a high priest unto Yahweh. So let us look at a PROPHECY in Isaiah 9:6,7 being MADE a mighty “El” to rule over the earth in the world to come WHEN the government shall be laid upon his shoulders by Yahweh, the Ancient of Days, according to the PROPHECIES in Daniel 7:9-22. All Christians know and understand that a prophecy is God foretelling something that has NOT yet happened. So as you read this prophecy in Isaiah 9:6,7, I want you to see that it is a prophecy of both the first and second coming of Jesus. And in verse 7, I want you to see that it is Yahweh who is the one who PERFORMS His spoken word which He prophesied out from His mouth to His prophets. Isaiah 9:6,7. “For unto us a CHILD is BORN, (This part of this prophecy was fulfilled at the virgin birth of Jesus) unto us a SON is GIVEN: (This part of this prophecy was fulfilled when the Son of MAN was lifted up on the cross as the atonement for the sins of the world) and the government SHALL BE upon his shoulder: and his NAME SHALL BE CALLED Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, (Or the mighty El in Hebrew) The everlasting Father, (Or the father of eternal life being GIVEN that authority and power by his God and Father, the Eternal and HIGHEST El) The Prince of Peace. (The Savior who Yahweh raised up from among the people) 7. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. (This part of this prophecy is yet FUTURE. And it SHALL be fulfilled WHEN the government of the earth is laid upon the shoulders of the HIGHLY EXALTED Son of MAN, Jesus, who Yahweh MADE the Lord of the Sabbath) The zeal of the LORD of hosts will PERFORM this.” In other words, the ONE TRUE God Yahweh watches over His spoken word of prophecy to PERFORM it or to make sure it comes to pass just as He prophesied. And thus, prophecy is the WORK or the WORKMANSHIP of Yahweh. For without Yahweh there would be NO prophecy. And without prophecy there would be no Messiah to be DISPATCHED to accomplish the TASK of STILLING God’s ENEMIES and saving whosoever of mankind who BELIEVES. Yahweh has spoken His word out from His mouth, according to Isaiah 55:11, and God PERFORMS His spoken word of prophecy to fulfill it or to bring it to pass. Now I want you to notice the words that I highlighted in blue and yellow. Notice that the one being PROPHESIED shall be GIVEN a NAME when the government of the earth is upon his shoulders. In truth, that part of this prophecy was fulfilled at the cross and resurrection of the Son of MAN, Jesus. That was WHEN the Son of MAN, Jesus was HIGHLY EXALTED by his God and Father and GIVEN a NEW NAME that is above every other name. That was WHEN the now highly exalted Son of MAN, Jesus, was GIVEN all power and authority in his NEW NAME so that AT the NAME every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that he is Lord TO the GLORY of God the Father, according to Philippians 2:8-11, Matthew 28:18, John 17:1-3, and many other verses of Scripture. And thus, Jesus is OUR Lord right now in this PRESENT world. But the GOVERNMENT of this present world will not be laid upon the shoulders of Jesus UNTIL Almighty God brings His FIRSTBORN into the world to rule and reign as the mighty El over the WHOLE earth. And during that DAY of Yahweh’s Sabbath, Jesus will rule as the Lord of the Sabbath for 1000 years FOR Yahweh and in the NAME OF Yahweh. And during that great and notable Day of the Lord, EVERY knee will bow to the NAME Jesus and EVERY tongue will confess that he is Lord to the GLORY OF Yahweh the Father, according to Philippians 2:8-11. So clearly, the Son of God is NOT Yahweh Himself. And thus, the NAME mighty “El” means that Yahweh MADE His human Son to BECOME a deity or a mighty El which is translated as mighty “God” in Isaiah 9:6.7 with a capital “G”. But it should have been translated as the NAME the mighty god with a lowercase “g”. Or at the very least there should be a footnote to explain that the Messiah of God would be made a mighty God over the earth in the world to come. But WHY? Why did Yahweh create Himself a human Son in the womb of a woman to suffer and be crucified by His ENEMY Satan? And WHY did Yahweh highly exalt His Messiah to be MADE Lord to rule over the earth in the NAME of Yahweh as a Mighty El or a Mighty God FOR Yahweh for 1000 years? And WHY will Jesus step down from ruling over the earth after the 1000 years has ended and commit the ruling of the earth back into the hands of his God and Father, according to 1 Corinthians 15:20-28.
